Had the beef sirloin and marinated beef, they were really good and I loved the red dipping sauce. The seafood pancake was amazing as well!!! Also, the staff were really nice and accommodating, we brought a cake because it was someone’s birthday and they gave us a candle and helped us light it up ): made my day honestly
We have been eating here for a few years now and have never had a bad dish - always delicious! It’s a relaxing restaurant tucked away from hustle and bustle yet still in the middle of the city. The young manager is THE most lovely guy and always with a welcoming smile.
Food was greaT, the meat variety was splendid. Good atmosphere, friendly waiters 😄 even got a free drink 🌂🥤

I came with here with some BBQ loving friends and was happy to find a few veggie bowls available. I tried one of the rice bowls with veggies (no egg), and the serving size was quite generous! Service was quick and friendly too. Would recommend this place to BBQ loving friends ;)
I love the delicious, well portioned, beautifully crafted food. The cutleries are paper wrapped for hygiene purposes which other restaurants don’t do that.
The free water are kept clean by bottles with a lid.
There are a lot of diners at the place which shows that the food is good, though you might want to call up to book in advance especially if you are going in a big group.
Unfortunately, you have to walk up a flight of stairs to the spacious wooden decorated restaurant. I want to enjoy the food so much with my family that I carried our pram up the stairs so don’t bring a pram, heavy things or do your shopping after your meal.
The servers are like beautiful & handsome korean star models with friendly smiles. They are attentive to my needs and walked fast towards me when I raised my hand to request for service.
You feel like you are in a Korean Drama.
I love the experience. Its worth it. I give it 5 stars.

Came here with my parents a couple days ago, though we have been many times before. This is our go-to Korean restaurant when we're craving bibimbap that remind sus of our time in Korea. This time we ordered:
- Pan fried kimchi stone bowl bibimbap
- Spicy chicken stone bowl bibimbap
- Ox bone soup (not pictured, sorry!)
- Spicy pork set
- Seafood pancake
- Pan fried dumplings
The dumplings and seafood pancake were brought out first and were divine. The dumplings had a great crunch from being fried and a flavoursome filling that was intensified by the soy sauce served with it. The seafood pancake was thin and had a bit of seafood in each bite. Unlike pancakes from some restaurants this pancake wasn't at all gooey, but nice and firm but not dry.
The the bibimbaps taste almost exactly like the ones we had in Korea (my mum actually likes the ones from here better). Fresh veg served in a sizzling hot stone bowl that stays hot long after you've finished eating, adding a great crunch to the rice directly in contact with the bottom of the bowl. The mushrooms they serve in the bibimbap are particularly noteworthy, being juicy and full of flavour. The egg yolk served on top gives a richness to the rice that is heavenly!
Mum reported that the pork was a winner also, nice and flavourful.
The only disappointment was the ox bone soup, which dad reported was a bit bland. They do give you a generous portion of rice though (two serves!) which is to be commended.
What keeps bringing us back to this place is the decent prices, large, bright dining area and the friendly service. The kimchi they serve as a side dish is also yum, which I'm sure they would refill on request.
Overall this day and the ones before it have been great meals, ensuring our return anytime we get a craving for a variety of Korean food.

This was a recommendation made by my dad as he had previously been for dinner
We attended at the very beginning of the lunch service and were seated straight away.
As there was 3 of us we ordered the combination of Marinated Pork, Marinated chicken and beef
This came with various sides such as Kim chi, Sliced fish cake and some mixed pickled veggies and was priced about $60
If I was to visit again it would be for the Marinated Chicken Wow it was good
This place is highly recommended if you like BBQ

I was looking for a tteokbokki place and Google maps led me here. But when I saw the bulgogi set meal, I couldn't resist. I'll left the tteokbokki for another day coz the set meal was already filling.
Came here with a few friends and it was great sharing all the food and having a nice time talking whilst cooking the food. The pork and beef are nice when bbq'ed. Nice charred flavor and thin.
Felt like having Korean bbq after watching the Grand Finals. Chose from 3 that we passed by in Chinatown and decided on this one. It is upstairs, bright and spacious. At 6pm it wasn’t full yet so we immediately got a table for 2 (a queue has formed just after another 20 mins). We ordered the Combination pork, beef and marinated chicken at $59. The menu said “minimum 2 person per serving” so we ordered two. The waitress looked at us and said “no, only one order is ok.” Sure enough, the meat came and we had enough left over for take away. Maybe the menu should say “good for 2”? Anyway, the waitresses were attentive, they kept checking on us, turning the meat, cutting them, refilling our kimchi, etc. We also ordered extra rice and prawn tempura (something like it but a different name). We were so full afterwards, the food was quite good. And we only paid $88 for two. We didn’t order drinks though. Still, what a great find in Chinatown. We will be back!

Emmmm.... 先吐槽一下这个服务，上完烤肉，一开始是服务员来帮忙烤的，后来烤到一半人没了。剩下我们三个一脸懵逼。。
我们三个人点了一个烤肉拼盘，一份炒年糕和一个石锅拌饭。我印象中是没吃完。。味道还可以，一般韩餐嘛，味道也差不了多少。

Dae Jang Geum is a Korean restaurant hidden in the laneway of Little Bourke Street. We opted to try their Korean bbq and it was pretty good!
The pics that you see are the marinated chicken, beef and spicy pork. My favorite amongst the meats was the marinated chicken as it had a tinge of sweetness and was not too salty. The beef was not too bad either after being cooked - it was still pretty tender and juicy. The spicy pork was good for me but may not suit those who are not able to take spicy food.
Overall, we had a great time and would go back again to try their other meats and hot pot! 😊
I’ve been a regular customer to this restaurant for over 5 years and they still serve the most amazing marinated beef, chicken and pork bbq dishes. Cheap, welcoming and very filling! Highly recommend :)
Easily accessible at the entrance to Chinatown, this place is an absolute go-to for all things KBBQ and more! With a fusion of authentic and modern Korean decor and very reasonably-priced food, it’s the perfect place to sit down and have a snack with a friend, or even a large group dinner. The restaurant is very spacious and the staff are quite friendly, often helping us cook our food. I especially love the marinated beef here, and the marinated spicy pork is also quite a must-try. The ddeokbokki here is pretty average, but the unlimited side-dish refills are definitely a highlight for me.
Looking forward to sampling more of the menu here - love this place!
Finally we have a place to frequent for Korean Barbecue. Do not recollect what we had ordered but definitely remember relishing everything that we had ordered.
What we also appreciate of this place is the service. Attendants are friendly and helpful. Knowing we had no clue about certain stuff, before we could request a help, they were there. Value for Money.
Overall had a very enjoyable dinner. We basically tried everything on the menu.
We the Bibimbap, Dumplings, Soup noodle and a few combination BBQ sets.
We got 2 complimentary side dishes that are signatures of korean food. There could have been a few more,
Service was very attentive even though it was packed on a saturday night. Waitress was run off her feet but still managed to do a good job.
Food quality was pretty good, prices for the BBQ sets were about right, the entrees were great value,

K: When you think of Korean BBQ in the heart of Melbourne's CBD, there is no wonder why Dae Jang Geum comes to mind. Having been a very popular place for myself and friends for years now, I decided to return here with a group of friends to indulge in some well deserved Korean BBQ.
With a venue that has seen much expansion to cater to its popularity, they certainly cater to all of your needs with a very minimalist ambience and friendly service to match. Today my friends and I decided to order the Combination A set consisting of a myriad of meats, as well as a seafood pancake, extra thick pork belly and spicy beef soup.
Why this restaurant is a favourite simply comes down to the value. Admittedly the meat quality itself is not the best out there in comparison to competitors who offer more marbled and delicate meats, what truly stands out here is the flavours elicited. Marinated meats, the sauces, you can truly taste each meat and its juices to the fullest potential and this was no different today. With the pork and chicken tasting extra succulent and flowing with flavour, the beef too did not fall behind in this department. Many times my friends and I were shaking our heads with just how flavoursome the meat was. The seafood pancake and spicy beef soup were also perfect compliments to our meal, adding a very nice addition and chilliness respectively, to the meal- definitely sides I would recommend to anyone visiting.
Note that the fruit Soju and Hite Beer combination is also a stellar celebratory companion if you wish to indulge in the senses of Korea, tasting very sweet but with all the right flavours of beer also. Come here for your Korean BBQ needs if you are after good value, with strong flavours to match!

Another Korean BBQ that is located very conveniently at the centre of the Melbourne, precisely in China Town. If you’re looking for a big restaurant to come have a dinner with more than 10 people, or probably 20, it is the right restaurant. It’s very spacious let me tell you.
We ordered Kimchi Pancake, and for the meat we ordered Spicy Pork, Pork Belly, Beef (wagyu) and chicken. It tastes great with a pretty reasonable price.
But I think they don’t have a really nice staff, because when I asked them to take a picture with me and my friends, they looked lazy and not friendly.
But overall it’s a great experience for us.
My Korean friend brought us here and I was impressed by this extremely spacious Korean restaurant with traditional Korean decoration. It feels just like we are in Korea! The staffs are all very friendly and attentive. Good and generous serving sizes. The food is tasty and authentic as well.
The food is very affordable and the waiters are friendly and attentive. All dishes taste amazing and there are all the dishes you could want from a Korean restaurant; including BBQ meat, Bibimbap, Korean pancakes, Fried Dumplings, Egg roles, etc. Over my past 3 years of regularly visiting Dae Jang Geum, I've never had an unpleasant experience.
My favorite Korean eating place for non-BBQ category. Their 'Gerancim' - fluffy egg omelette in a bowl of hot pot. Very light yet tasty. Love the pancakes as well. Side dishes were invitingly delicious. The place is so spacious and airy made it very pleasant to sit and enjoy.

Me and my friends went here yesterday for dinner. I was impressed that the restaurant was really spacious so we didn't have any troubles waiting on such a busy night. The only problem is that the restaurant might be quite difficult to find because it is located upstairs of a buiding. Despite that, the staffs were definitely fast, helpful and friendly and the menu was a huge selection of dishes. We ordered the #58 and #63 combo from the BBQ menu and kimchi stew. It took us almost half an hour for all the food the come out, but it was quite reasonable since the restaurant was really crowded at that time.
All the meat was fresh and marinated well, but the heroes of the dish were definitely the kimchi and the sauce. The sauce was rich and went perfectly with the meat while the kimchi was salty and crunchy. The BBQ pan was unique too because it wasn't too smoky or burnt the meat. Every person also got a bowl of rice, which was a plus point for me. The kimchi stew was seasoned perfectly with a touch of spiciness. There was a lot of kimchi and tofu, and I think there was no better way to end a meal without having hot stew with rice.
All in all, the bill came out really reasonable - $125, especially for a big meal for 5 like this. The only issue with this restaurant is that we have to keep asking for refill of the side dishes and the sauce. I think it somehow interrupt the experience, even though the staffs are everywhere and the refill doesn't take more than 30 seconds. This restaurant is really well-known, especially for the Korean BBQ, so I hope they can solve that problem to improve the experience fpr the customer. I highly recommend this restaurant in China Town for everyone, and I will definitely comeback when I have a chance.
This Korean BBQ is the best in Chinatown! The vibe is warm and cosy. Very cheap for the feast you're about to have. Also, the staff are very nice to you and treat you with a lot of respect. The food comes out quickly and is delicious. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone!

Been here quite a few times, restaurant is hugeee so would be good for large groups. I've had the pork & kimchi soup from the $10 lunch menu a few times which is pretty cheap, also come with a bowl of rice. The only thing is that there's always hardly any pork, can't complain though, it's cheap.
I've gotten the kimchi sausage hotpot set menu quite a few times too for $39. Totally worth it, hotpot comes with ramen and two bowls of rice. Always so filling and flavoursome. Perfect for a cold day, would recommend.
I enjoy the kbbq here. Always seated quickly and service is good. I like the pork belly and ox tongue the most. Dumplings are good too. The potato side dish is yummy. I could eat plates of it.
The food was really good. The staff were nice but spoke little English making it hard to ask them about the menu but that wasn't much of an issue. We had to wait 5 minutes for a table but when we left, there was a massive line to get in (7:30pm on a Friday night)

This was our first time at a Korean BBQ restaurant. We were staying on the street so it was a nice walk. We arrived around 6 and glad we did (as we didn't make a reservation) and afterwards it was so busy with families waiting to be seated. I was slightly uncomfortable as the language barrier was difficult and the staff didn't speak English too well. We were seated immediately and then two guys on a table beside us started laughing and sniggering at us. It made me so uncomfortable that I wanted to leave. My husband gave them "the look" and they stopped. When they got up they were actually staff of the restaurant so that was very rude of them. Once they left I was able to enjoy my night and our waitress was lovely, kind and very helpful. The food was fantastic. My sons enjoyed cooking the meat on the BBQ and cutting it up and serving us. It was very interactive which made it fun. The salad I ordered was fresh and had a tasty dressing. We ordered 4 meat dishes and that was satisfying for the four of us with rice and salad as sides. If you don't mind trying out different cuisine I would recommend this place. Just be aware of the language barrier. I must mention it was fantastic to see all the other staff that were working that night. They were young, energetic, non stop, hard workers. So great to see. Well done to them 👍
I really like this place!! I keep eating in Dae jang Geum for almost 4 years and they never make me disappointed lol. Their service is good and quite cheeper for bbq price.

Amazing restaurant with good images as you walk up . Quality fresh meat with friendly assistants who help you cut up the meat and assist cooking meats.
Pretty decent Korean bbq. We had two persons set (set D, i think) and i I think we got good value out if it. There were things that could be better like more variety of kimchi, less fatty/chewy meat, and more sauces. But overall, it's pretty good. The ox tongue was my favourite.
I have been to this place numerous times for great Korean BBQ! I would come out of this place very very full! The service is fast, quality of meat is good, fresh ingredients and very lively atmosphere! It's tucked in upstairs in Melbourne's China town, little Bourke st. I would definitely come back here again to feast with a friend or ten!
Since tofu soup (sundubu) is one of my favorites, I had it there many times. They have lunch menu which is affordable, and the taste was good. As usual, a few appetizer came with the meal. I wouldn't mind to eat there again in the future.
friendly staff, nice ordering options and one of the cheapest places i've been to. the rice is not as hot, but over all the meat here is all tasty. the oil dropping into the silver bowl thing is a little unappetising to see when you're trying to eat ... but it's a nice place to go and i'll definitely be back!
