A very nice brunch cafe at the popular ‘tourist lane’. Thoroughly enjoyed the Ham Eggs Benedict and coffee. Although there were a lot of people on the lane, the cafe vibe was fantastic. I give this place 4 bears

Ordered a strong latte takeaway through HeyYou and Ritual Apps - very convenient.
Strong latte had good balanced flavour - milk chocolatey notes and a lightly roasted bitter edge.
Nice spot for a morning pick-me-up.
The staff were all extremely friendly. Service was quick and efficient. Enjoyed dining here. 💖

Easy 4. Another cafe with a cute name. Love the name, love the sign. I had to go. It’s certainly a cute open and buzzy little space here off busy Degraves St. Extremely likeable. There’s a small number of spots inside including some rather fetching mini booths and a counter area with multiple seats. From there one can admire the creamy exposed wood finishes in the interior. If you’re not happy with that you’ve always got the Degraves St outside option. You can people watch on both spots. I’d had some dental trauma today so no long black today unless I was happy to risk burning and/or dribbling. After careful consultation, I went with the yummy choccy milkshake in the mason jar thingy. I’ve rarely made a more astute choice. This milkshake was lovely. Nice flavour, nice temperature, nice ice cream. It wasn’t sickly sweet either, my main fear in ordering the thing. It was terrific. The price was low too, I thought.
I spent a happy 20-25 minutes here. It was very pleasant. Service was adorably good throughout. A cheery hello, a nice word or two throughout, a polite enquiry about my experience and a warm goodbye. Really, what more could you want. What good staff. Nice place. I’ll be back for more.
Preordered a coffee via the HeyYou app on my way to work. I had to wait quite a while for the order despite having ordered in advance, but it was a great coffee (and a busy time at the venue) so I can overlook it. My soy flat white was a bit frothy but just as hot as I wanted. Bonus points that I can get a strong at no extra cost. Food looks great so I'll definitely be back to try it.
Charming little place just like the rest of Degraves St cafes. Can't go wrong for a quick meal and a coffee.

Loved the coffee & the food. I had the Eggs Benedict with baked Salmon, & it was cooked just to my liking ... runny eggs & the salmon a little pink inside. The weather was cold & wet, so we decided to eat inside. Firstly we sat at a side table, which was very cramped, & I wondered how we would manage to eat. However, once some others left, we moved across to seating along a shelf table, & comfortably ate our meals. The price was low for such great food, & the staff were friendly. I'd definitely eat there again, & weather permitting, we'd try sitting at the street tables.
Came here on a Saturday for brunch with friends. We ordered the club sandwich and mockturtle breakfast. Food was okay but nothing really stood out. Staff were friendly and efficient.
Cozy little cafe of Degraves with a surprisingly good lunch/brunch options. The coffee's great and pretty cheap. I got the Chicken Caesar Salad which was a little dry, but overall still pretty tasty with the flavourful special croutons! The coffee was good too - not bad at $3.5!

Mockturtle is one of those snug little cafes hidden away in DeGraves Street, that treasure trove for Melbourne's foodies and tourists alike. I was given a seat inside by one of the very nice wait staff and ordered a club sandwich. It was perfectly toasted, well cooked and tasted great. Had all the trimmings you'd expect chicken, bacon, sauce etc. very nice indeed and I'd definitely go back. :)

Great coffee spot out of the plethora of options in Degreaves St! Coffee is absolutely divine every time! Highly recommended. This has become my go-to in the mornings! :)
The cafe is located in the small alley close to Flinders Street Station where you can find many small cafes and restaurants along this street.
It was a pretty busy cafe on Sunday morning along this street, you have many options to have breakfast and coffee.
We went to this bright cafe - yellow and the barista who served us was friendly and nice.
They didn't really give any additional charge for a mocha which was a good one.
We ordered mocha (L) for $4.20, which was pretty good value.
It was pretty decent mocha however, it was little bit too much milk.
Overall, it's still a good value of money to spend for a coffee in this place.
We'd love to come back to try their breakfast menu.

Delicious breakfast with friendly staff and decent coffee. The servings were generous and very filling. The coffee could be a tad stronger but that could be a personal preference. Would recommend!!

Super cafe. New modem Australian menu likened to top paddock. Soft music. A fresh change from Italian centric cbd menu. St David's milk. Vegan paleo options.
The coffee was great and the staff were friendly and personable, I recommend the warm chicken salad! A modern, cute little classic Melbourne cafe.
Gorgeous food, lovely service!
I had to come back again to have the same dish! The staff were lovely and attentive (water placed on the table as you sit down, even down to the lovely chef bringing food over to tables)

Not a whole lot to comment on. The service was curt but helpful and complete. The food itself is fair (higher end) for its price. The ambience caters to those who want to experience the bustle of the big city with a good mix of tourists and locals passing through.
The latest addition to the bustling Degraves St. I only had an afternoon coffee this visit - so my rating was given on that experience.
Coffee Ordered:
Latte and a lemonade for the mrs. The coffee is a bolder blend and seems to suit this more tourist driven area. The presentation was beautiful and made for a great midday caffeine hit.
Ambience:
There is the famous laneway seating available if you like the crowds but also offered is the cozy booths and bar seating inside. The shape, design and simplicity of the cafe make for a warm and inclusive experience. The staff were very attentive and maybe still learning the details of the menu, but were accomodating and friendly.
I will return for a city brunch and be sure to explore the menu. Mockturtle is a great new cafe in a prime location.
One of my favourite breakfast spots in the CBD.
I always come back for their Avocado Toast, which is served over beetroot hummus, whipped feta, tomato, almond dukkah & a poached egg.
I just love the dish's presentation and how everything goes well together.
Their coffee is a hit and miss tho.
Good reliable breakfast and coffee. (And the food came out fast and hot! Unlike a more famous one around the corner I tried…). Mainly outdoor table seating, with some bench style seating inside.
As someone from Perth, this part of Melbourne was equivalent to the business of the whole hay street. I saw this place and it stood out, so I decided to have some breaky here. That was the best decision I made, I ordered the waffles and it was sooo delicious and presented so well. Everything went well together and the service was awesome. Definitely suggest coming here, I definitely will again!

But that was just the tip of the iceberg!
The coffee, whilst a touch hot, was one of the smoothest blends I've had the delight to try.

Excellent service.
Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The sweetness feels purely organic with the fruit and syrup, just the right amount. This is the definition of simple feel good waffles 🤤
My friend and I requested a share plate and another set of cutlery to this single serve dish and the cafe took the extra step of care by surprising us with beautifully decorated plates for each 🧡
