Devine French cuisine in Carlton. It’s one of them family run businesses that melts your heart. Proud mother takes order and is very informative when you order. A week has passed since I last dined and I’m craving the duck parfait 🤤. For mains we had a juicy steak cooked to perfection, the Dijon sauce 👌🏽. I will be returning to try the fish! There was a birthday celebration held upstairs, we had to wait over 45mins for our food but it was worth it
What a gem this place is. Classic French food done really well with marvellous service from host Jenny. Great night out celebrating a friend's birthday, no shouting to be heard, no elbowing neighbours, and no fighting for attention from staff. Delicious scallops, magnificent mussels, topped off with flambé crepe Suzette. Delicious! Will be back.
I can't believe that I have lived in Melbourne all my life and just discovered this place. Wonderful local restaurant. Food is good - the mussels are terrific, the steaks and salads good, the crepes wonderful - and the service is warm. Definitely will become a regular place to visit.
I love this place and Jenny is a gem! Always leave satisfied. Its so good that there are still BYO places that serve amazing food! Have been coming back for honest, hearty French food for 10 years!
Love this little French restaurant, great and naturally welcoming host made the dining experience wonderful. Three of us had 2 entres each and thoroughly enjoyed them all.
We shared 2 deserts . Not expensive either.

Great friendly service and really lovely food. Basic French but done really well, however with a few new creations in the menu as well. I would thoroughly recommend for anyone who wants to feel like they have been transported back to France. Gorgeous interior as well creates a charming ambience.
Date night. Wonderful relaxing dinner and both the service and food was great. The Confit Duck was delicious but the Nougat dessert was amazing. We'll be back.
My partner and I loved our dining experience at Moretons Brasserie. Food was delicious. We started with the snails and sesame pork ribs that were divine. My main was a beautiful pasta and my partner says his steak was one of the greatest. Service was wonderful! So friendly and lovely. Don't have a bad word to say!

Genuinely personal service, really good value, delicious French meals, and a really comfortable and nice place to dine. And you can BYO wine as well.
Moreton’s Brasserie was a fantastically French experience with a welcomed Aussie twist (it is BYO). It was the most expensive letter to date, but well worth it if you’re in the mood.
Fabulous food and exceptional service. I had the mussels as entree and duck confit for main. Delicious. My friends also enjoyed their choices of John Dory and seared scallops. A treasure. I will definitely be back.

Great experience. Our first visit to Moreton's Brasserie last night - very good in all respects. The seared scallops, and smoked salmon starters were both great, as were the duck confit and steaks. Staff were excellent, the chef even coming to our table to make some recommendations for one of our group with fructmal requirements. Desserts all good.
I'll be honest, the food was amazing. Ridiculously well priced and well serviced. Atmosphere as perfect for a romantic night out: not too pretentious either. The hostess was lovely and professional. Beautiful family restaurant shall recommend any day.

Wonderful restaurant wonderful food wonderful service! To the people who think the service is rude here should probably eat out more at nearby restaurants with the hipsters and really experience rudeness. I feel like I was at home for a meal at Moretons and will reccomended everytime
Fabulous hostess, tasty meals (small portions and pricy), quaint little dinning area.
Nice and quiet. Greeted by friendly enough staff, was presented with a chalk board of specials which kept moving around the small restaurant as new arrivals were shown in. Strange start.
Other than that, the rest of the night was lovely.
Escargot were great, pate was lovely (but a huge serve just for 2), steak and lamb were well done. Unfortunately didn't leave room for dessert (I know, shame on me!).
All in all, a nice place for dinner. No wow-factor to speak of though.
Great Restuarant. We have been going to Mortons for years now. Really love the food the service is exceptional. We have never had a bad meal and the deserts are amazing. The steaks are great and thee lemon tart beautiful. Do your self a favour and put this Brassier a go.
Warm attentive dining!. Lovely dinner here, the waitress was absolutely lovely and very welcoming. We had quite a large group and everyone was satisfied. The atmosphere is unpretentious and cosy.
Food was beautiful. We had the escargots, filet de bouef and surprise for desert. (about $65 pp inc corkage)
Definitely worth a visit, could be easily become a trusty favourite.
Great Steak. 6 diners on the Tuesday night before Xmas. The restaurant wasn't crowded which meant that the waitress and the chef both had time to speak with us and were both welcoming and helpful. The scallop entree served with a chilli jam was delicious as was the pate. However it was the steak on the bone with a dijon glaze that blew me away - fantastic. Others in our party had the de-boned steak and the snapper. Finished off with crepes and it made for a most enjoyable evening. We'll definitely be back

Ridiculously welcoming. Wonderful hospitality, cosy & intimate space, good food, BYO. Can't not love it. But it is definitely the family run atmosphere that makes it.

Itscaro. Jenny is the most amazing hostess, chatty if you want, discreet if you need. A perfect place to bring a new date to impress. Consistently tender steaks, crispy frites, traditional Bernaise sauce. I had superb Snapper fillets on Saturday night with aioli & crisp fennel, Delish!. Chef Max Rees explores his creativity with the dessert menu, the individual Chocolate Pots ooze with warm gooey richness. YUM!! B.Y.O. or well chosen wine list, it's all taken care of by this lovely family.

Lovely, lovely, lovely! A wonderful find, tucked away on Rathdown street, a French brassiere with lovely simple tasty food. Great favours, small however power packed menu.
French onion soup with gorgeous rich cheese crouton. Fish steamed with leaks - simple but perfect.
Great service, warm and cozy. Lovely for Melbourne winter evenings.

I've been coming to this wonderful restaurant for a number of years and find the warmth, hospitality and food a great experience every time. The chef and his wife are the best Francophiles with classic dishes - the stuff you remember a French Bistro for as well as new dishes available.
I highly recommend this place, go in, take your coat off, sit down to a beautifully but simply laid out table, order a drink, relax your shoulders and start reading the menu while Jenny gives you the specials.
The hostess is an absolute delight! I absolutely adore the homey feel to this restaurant and the quality of the french cuisine that is served is easily in the top 5 of Melbourne. I implore you to visit this gem!
