My favourite pub in the neighbourhood. I love their steak night on Wednesday. $25 with a glass of wine. Their Pie night on Thursday is really good too. Haven’t tried the Parma or burger night yet. The place is pretty big, has several rooms to hire for your private functions. They have a big court yard at the back. Perfect for birthday parties or any other occasions
The staff at the Leveson are so friendly and the atmosphere is warm and relaxed.
There’s a fire keeping the room cosy and plenty of options for a drink or meal.
It’s got great ambience without being stuffy or pretentious.
We’ve been for dinner and just for an after dinner drink. It’s always great.
Meals cooked freshly to order- plenty of options for food allergies and intolerances too.
Good drinks and wine list.
A great atmosphere and beautiful looking venue! A cool pub with a sporty vibe and food is absolutely delicious!!! Service is great too, all waiter/waitresses extremely attentive with smiles on their faces!!! Would definitely recommend for a causal drink or dinner 👏🏻
Great choice on the menu for a large dinner group , something for everyone and well presented, fresh and delicious. Very helpful and friendly staff, made the night easy going
A great pub with excellent food, a wide range of very tasty food, well done and with care. A good wine range and all the usual drinks behind the bar. Easy to get to and good parking. Well worth the visit.
Yummy food, great service and kid friendly. Parmas are huge portions, but fish and chips are small. We regularly visit The Leveson for dinner.
Stopped by for a quick meal after being recommended by friends.
Food was delicious and came out pretty quickly.
Our waitress was super attentive and warm.
Will definitely be coming back.
Lovely venue with plenty of seating. The staff are super friendly. We have the burger and the scotch fillet. Burger was great! Steak was a special for Wed night $25 with wine. Good value
Reliable pub food. Nice open fire. Big screen for sport or music. Friendly staff. Lovely courtyard on a sunny afternoon. Quiet lunchtimes but very busy and noisy Fridays and Saturdays.
I love this place. It's spacious and friendly. We've always managed to get a table and the waitstaff and really friendly and accommodating. Plus, the Parma and pit deal is super great value. Oh and amazingly tasty!! I often bring friends back as it's just a great place and hard to beat.
Came across this place and thought we'd give it a go. We've been here twice now. Our first visit, the food was fantastic, but for some reason the second time we visit, it wasn't as nice. Maybe different chef? I had the chicken parma and my husband had the fish of the day special. Nice place and friendly staff.
Been here before years ago but just came back again for dinner with friends last week. Place was busy but not noisy. I did get a whiff of cigarette smoke from the open area on the other side but not bad. We had porter house & scotch fillet, salads, croquettes, buffalo wings, calamari, parma. All Yum! My steak was under for a medium rare but it was good beef. So I did not send it back. I only ate half though so maybe I should have! Service was fantastic. 🍴
A modern upgrade to a old working class pub. Not upper class but not working class either. Heaps of seating options including outdoor, semi outdoor and indoors. Pretty good menu with daily specials that cater to anyone tastes including market fish of the day (last tuesday it was stuffed whole baby barra). Tuesday is parma & pint day $19 and for $2 extra you get whatever the special parma of the day is (caramelised onions bacon and bbq sauce). Good value. The rest of the prices are a little more expensive like a scotch fillet at $38. Anyway I opted for the special parma but was served the normal parma 9at least i was only charged for a normal parma). I wasnt going to send it back, so I tucked in. Great sauce, ham, cheese ration. Real chicken. nice little salad and aioli and a nice peroni to wash it down.
My college had the scotch medium rare. apparently is was perfectly cooked and had some good char on it (which for $38 youd want it to be good).
The service was very attentive (although it wasnt very busy) and its table service, so another plus.
Its a pub thats classy enough to take clients to/have working lunches etc. Happily eat there again and try a few of their specials.
Came to this cool pub for a meal with my family and couldn't recommend it and higher. The service was impeccable and attentive. The food was spot on. Many come here for the Parma, which is great, but this time I had the steak and was awesome! My wife had the Paella and just as good. The kids meals were great, my sons kids Parma was huge!!
Recommend this place for drink with the crew at the front bar, dinner out the back with friends/family or just a few beers in the sun out the back beer garden!!
Enjoy
Pretty decent pub for something that is hidden. Great spot to have a venue for events. Food itself is your standard pub food.
Atmosphere is quite nice. It can get a little loud
A hidden oasis in quiet Leveson Street!
Visited recently with mates on a pub crawl thinking we'd duck in for a few then head to the next haunt, but we ended up staying a number of hours as we thoroughly enjoyed it.
The big screens showing a number of sports and great value beers kept us busy, in a stress-free, relaxed environment with friendly staff and service.
The chicken parmigiana is a must, it was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection - for $25 you certainly get your money's worth, as the portion size is unrivalled.
Whether you're after a quiet meal over a couple of drinks or a night with friends, The Leveson is definitely worth a visit.
If you didn't know, I am a sucker for a good Parma. The parmas here are huge!! Good ratio of cheese, sauce and ham. Chips were crunchy and soft in the center. Staff were very friendly and talkative! Great place to go if you want to socialise if a group of mate, very spacious!
Herd about this place though the timeout.com site came in for their famous parmas. And oh boy they were amazing! Best Parma I've had for years I recon, and huge total bang for ya buck. Staff were super friendly and helpful. I'd go back every day if I didn't live so far away. 5 stars guys
Great birthday meal!
My partner and I visited recently for a quick birthday meal. The open fire and the super friendly service helped create a great atmosphere. We enjoyed our meal and will be going back again.
Thank you for making my birthday an extra special evening. The parma was one of the best I've had!
Being close to work this is a usual spot for after-work drinks and dinner functions. Came here with some friends to celebrate a milestone and was feeling hungry so we opted for the schnitzel and salmon expecting reasonably sized portions. No disappointment there; the chicken was certainly a decent size though on the dry side, which the pepper-steak sauce (that you're charged extra for) only partially addressed. The fish was a little better though the skin was lacking in crispiness. Will have to try the spare ribs and the paella next time as our friends seemed more impressed with their choices. Overall, a good atmosphere in which to watch the Olympics with friends, but not splitting the bill for a table of 15, while understandable, precluded a 4.0 review.
Had food here two days in a row. One time catering for a big group, with sandwiches, wraps and pizza. The food was decent. Pizza was popular so I didn't get to try it. Second time we could choose our meals and I had Mediterranean vegetables with saganaki, which wasn't bad either. It wasn't the kind of food I would go back for, but it was good lunch that kept us going.
Hi Emma, John and all the staff at The Leveson,
Thank you so much for hosting our engagement function on Saturday the 27th Feb. We all had the most amazing time, the food, the atmosphere and the staff were all fantastic! An absolute 10 out 10 for everything! Every single person (100 of them) has said how much of a great time they had and could not stop talking about the venue, the food and the staff.
So Emma to you I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this such a special and memorable event for us! From the food and drink selection, to the set up of the place and the running of the night everything was just amazing.
We will be sure to use you for our next event and would not hesitate in recommending you to others.
Thanks again.

Great local pub with a cool (not hipster specific) atmosphere. Food is reliable and tasty. The live music on Friday night is surprisingly good. Perfect for post work drinks.
Duck was succulent on the inside with a nice crunchy skin. Broccolini and jasmine rice cooked to perfection. Big serve too! Staff were friendly and efficient. No complaints here.
Great decor and ambience. The staff "boys" are just so friendly. Food was fab. Very tasteful and well presented. We ordered a bottle of dom to go with our food however when we wanted to reorder they were out. A little disappointing but great food and ambience.
Very good ambience and yes it is truly a hidden gem in North Melbourne. If you're on the look out to try something new go for their specials . I love their Tuesday's special - Chicken Parma. One of the best Parma's in town. Warm hospitality and great venue. The only gripe I had was the time they took to serve, but yeah that's a usual delay in every restaurant. I definitely recommend this place !
Reasonable atmosphere. Warm in winter. Clean and modern. Buffalo wings and homemade sausage rolls were outstanding. Planning to come back here.
Pretty sure that was the best steak sandwich I've ever had. Ever!
Bibs for Ribs!!. The Leveson is a non-cliché portrayal of a ‘hidden gem.’ Snuggly obscured in the back streets of North Melbourne, you really must ensure that you arrive here on an empty stomach. Those finger-lickin’ addictively luscious buffalo wings/legs drenched in sticky and bleu cheese sauce easily make a wonderfully ample appetizer to share between two people. The beer battered steak fries immaculately secure their alliance with the timely spiced aioli and harrisa mayo. But the signature dish of the night was most definitively, the highly acclaimed infinitively dowsed in- BBQ pasted beef ribs! My fiancé claims that this fashion of flavour surpasses every single one of the beef rib journeys that we have experienced thus far. Messy, fleshy, WORLD CLASS RIBS. I wouldn't endorse high hopes for their dessert selections, however. The death by chocolate was a huge let down. The description exaggerates the portion size and furthermore the richness in texture. I mean a few chunks of white and dark chocolate with chocolate ice cream doesn't assuredly warrant a $15 demonstration of the generic ‘Death By Chocolate!’ Come on!! We’re passionate sweet tooths!
Always pleased, highly recommend!. Friendly staff and great food. Always happy to come back to this place. Highly recommend!
Nice Parma but 1 serve is enough for 2 people. Love the BBQ chicken starter with blue cheese sauce. Fine for a pub meal once in a while.
Local fave. Been here a few times but went back last week and it was fantastic! Had the porterhouse - cooked perfectly with delicious peppery brands and the chips! my God I am still dreaming about the chips! So crispy and tasty!
Great service and a tasty meal.
I had my 21st here in the courtyard. It was amazing! The service was beyond incredible nothing was ever too much to ask for!
Great Parma! Good beer garden out the back as well!
Went there on a Tuesday night at 8.30. We waited about 40 minutes for our parmas which was pushing it but well worth it in the end. They were remarkable. Chips world class as well
Great Food. Get on board the Parma. It's a winner.
Efficient and to the point. North melbourne pubs are a stark contrast to what a pub should be, now they are polished floor boards, bib tv screens, stirs, large windows and casual staff.Really have missed the mark as to what a pub is, where was the fire place, the ambiance? But as a sports bar, it works, so well done if a sports bar is what you are after.
In a nutshell, service prompt and polite, my steak was well priced, beautifully cooked and promptly served.
Prices were fair, beer was cold and on tap, and the place had a nice mid week luncheon fell to it
well done leveson, as last time i came was when it was the eldorado
Have been to the leveson on quite a few occasions one of my fav locals. Staff are always friendly and polite food is ok but usually go there for a drink and some nibbles can't say I'd go there specifically to eat. Courtyard is really nice in the summer to sit back and relax.
Leveson paella very good and a good size partner had steak which was good to reasonably priced worth a try
Had such an enjoyable evening. The food was amazing and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Will defiantly be going back. To quote my son " the Pavlova was amazing"
Steaks can be variable, but the paella is consistently excellent and the beef ribs also a close second. Espresso martini is a definite good start while you wait (which can be a while).
We had the Pallea it was amazing packed full of seafood possibly one of the best i have had in Melbourne my partner had the parma u could tell the chicken was real and juicy to top it of we shared a stick date it defently finished the meal off!! Service was a little slow, over than that had a great time and will defently be back!
Had the lentil croquettes 4 entree v spicy but v yummy! Steak sandwich for main was v good however heavy on the salad and quite light on 4 the steak.my partner had the buffalo wings which he loved and the paella which was ultra awesome.menu on the pricey sound but hey this is inner melb here entree & main expect to pay min of $30-32. 8/10 overall. Good ambience.
Consistently great food and service. Eye fillet is always done to perfection and the red wine reduction is to die for. Great atmos and surrounds, service is always friendly. Be sure to book on a Friday or Saturday night!
Better than pub grub. The Leveson serves good food, great dessert and despite the grubby chairs I would probably return if in the area.
We tried to lamb and the porterhouse steak and both were well cooked and flavoursome without being awesome. Prices are bit on the expensive end. I was pleasantly surprised to find the sticky date pudding delicious and sticky sweet. Love the dessert.
Would go again. Tried this on a Friday evening. Was quite noisy, could smell the cigarette smoke but the food was great. We tried a number of share plates and were not disappointed. Will visit again.
Good Pub in North Melbourne. We were a group of 5 going to The Leveson for a quick dinner before a comedy show. Four of us had parmas and were not disappointed. Our other friend had the lamb curry (special of the day) and also enjoyed it. The staff were very friendly, attentive and accommodating as we only had one hour to eat before the show. They also have a beautiful outdoor courtyard. The acoustics can get loud but our group could hear each other fine. I would recommend.
Nice restaurant!. Like the environment though can get quite noisy. The lamb was good. Didn't quite get the porterhouse though. It's acceptable but not fantastic. Would definitely go back to try other dishes.
Good for groups. Enjoyed a good meal at The Leveson with 7 others. Most of us ordered the parma and were not disappointed. Good service and great atmosphere.
Very Nice Pub in North Melbourne.. The Leveson is a really nice gastro pub. It has a pretty decent beer selection and the food is very nice, however it is a bit on the higher side for pub food but is nice, I have had lobster tails and the steak here and it was very good. Staff are friendly and attentive and there is a great beer garden.
Super tasty chicken parmas with many varieties to choose from. Great tastes from all over the chicken schnitzel planet.
Cool place Great food. Im not sure if it was becuase i was particularly hungry and thirsty but for a pub/bar the food was delicious and the staff were really friendly helping us to decide what we'd drink. The place is pretty small & the beer garden is tiny but the place is still fun.
Solid Pub!. The decor of this pub was what initially grabbed the attention of me and my mates we weren't dissapointed with the food, I had the Flathead tails which came with a beautiful hot english mustard mayonaise. I was more than satisfied with my choice as were the boys with their choice of assorted parmas. The staff were quite accomodating and realy friendly, would recommend to anyone!
Agree with all the Parma comments. Best basic Parma this side if the city. There are some exotic variants to try, but I haven't explored them yet.
Very Good. I stopped in for some tapas and a beer. The staff were friendly, service prompt (even during the busy saturday night period) and the food was tasty and well priced.
Parma night is busy but worth the wait. Very large parmas with good chips and salads. Original Parma is great but so are the other flavours - pesto, goats cheese Parma yum!
Great place. Went here for a drink. Loved the atmosphere, great selection of wine and beer. Will definitely be back for dinner.
We chose the leveson to host our group of about 30 people celebrating my daughters 1st birthday. From the start, Emma and John were very responsive to emails and a pleasure to deal with. They have a spacious, private function room that is beautifully decorated. They assisted us with making the perfect menu and gave suggestions which we were glad we went with. The food came out staggered and was delicious. Everyone left with plenty to eat. Great variety of drinks at the bar. Very reasonably priced and highly recommend this venue to host any functions. Thank you Emma and John.
Just had a great lunch at the Leveson. Been ages. Place looks great. Staff were very friendly, smiling and efficient. Good and wind were delish. It was warm and so lovely to see the number of people there.
We were able to snag a Friday night table as a big group after some dinner. The good and its servings were great! The parmas were thick and bigger than our faces, mussels were a generous portion with a great soup base, saganaki was also a great big slice with lots of honey drizzled over.
Solid pub that kept us full of stone and wood on tap.
Friendly Staff. Menu is easy to Navigate from Steaks to a Snitz. Beer and Wine. Unique atmosphere from Date night to Family Meal if the date goes well.
Lovely staff, clean and crisp venue and great menu. We went for lunch and was great service, kid friendly.
Great place for lunch or even dinner with friends. If your looking to impress a date then take them there.
