Review Pho Victoria - Melbourne

Yao Jun Teng
Very friendly staff and service. Decent and authentic Vietnamese food in the heartland of Melbourne. We are vegetarian and they serve some of their dishes vegetarian. Price is reasonable.

One of the best go to places for Pho in Melbourne. Also, don’t hesitate to try other items in the menu. Last time i tried the San choy bau and the Fried rice with Salted fish and chicken . They were both delicious!!!

Great pho with a delicious beef soup. A nice strong Vietnamese coffee. Their fresh spring rolls is average though.

When the ghrelin hormone came out to play and we weren't familar to the area, I jumped on Google Maps and came across Pho Victoria. I love Vietnamese food being so light and satiating so we gave it a go, and I wasn't disappointed. Friendly service, seated quickly and a large menu of options to choose from. Rice vermicelli is my go to and it was delicious. This is a must try restaurant if you're in town.

The comparison between the hushed tones of tranquil massage parlour music while dining on delicious authentic Vietnamese, and the constant explosive detox I experienced from the moment I awoke until I finished work that day was absolutely memorable. Would definitely go again but may consider booking the day off work prior to my next visit

An absolute gem... ticks all the boxes. Dined there 18 July 22. My rice noodle soup with wontons was delicious, made fresh and hot and supremely satisfying. Service, value and quality all top notch. A delightful experience all round and already looking forward to my next visit. Thank you to the friendly owners / staff.

We tried the restaurant at home, ordering with UberEats. We ordered the Chicken Pho and Vegetable Tofu Pho. Both were delivered in separate bowls: noodles & broth, so you get to control how much broth you need, served with bean sprouts, lime wedges, and Thai basil on the side. Simple food, and cheap. Loved it!

Arrived in Melbourne yesterday after a long 10 hour day of travels with no energy to go looking for food in an area I’ve not stayed at before in Melbourne, so used trusty Google to find something that could deliver nearby. Came across Pho Victoria and ordered the Prawn Spring Rolls, Wonton Soup & Singapore Noodles. Everything was perfect - true authentic (I’ve had some ridiculous versions of Singapore Noodles elsewhere) and very generous & tasty. Just what I needed yesterday and glad I’ve discovered a new go-to for my Melbourne visits. Friendly staff, delivered to my hotel on time. Highly recommend!
Trevor
Surprisingly okay. Good for the area, but would rather go to Footscray or Richmond for better Pho and Bun Bo Hue. Definitely could add bit more noodle for their serving.

Always love coming here! Great staff! Always has a smile one her face. Grassjelly drink is a must have!

Great family run Vietnamese. When I'm in North Melbourne for work; I always come here for lunch. Polite service and food at a great price. My personal favourites include the Vermicelli salad; the Pho; and the lunch time stir fry special.

This place is our secret pho house. We tried it many place in Melbourne but, this is one of the best for us. Just try it and feel this calm area.

Don’t let looks deceive you! The restaurant itself doesn’t look so appealing but the food says otherwise! The pho and vermicelli noodle bowl were both so good! Staff are friendly. Despite the need for work on the ambience of the place, the food is really nice.

First visit for a late lunch. Huge serve, $12 pho and tea, plenty of condiments and tissues, very quick, delicious and I will be back with friends soon.

I ordered the chicken pho and really liked it. Relatively new to Vietnamese cuisine but this place was a thumbs up for a first try. The prices are pocket friendly.

With what seems to be a Vietnamese eatery on every corner of Melbourne at the moment, you would think that it would be easy to get yourself a ridiculously delicious bowl of steaming pho. Unfortunately, that's not always the case. However Pho Victoria, on Victoria Street in North Melbourne, is a great example of how it should be done. The broth had a full bodied flavour (and came out steaming hot), the sprouts and herbs were fresh and the meat was melt-in-your mouth tender.

This is a great place for home delivered Vietnamese food. They package up the pho noodles and separately and don't cook the noodles, so you can do it yourself. High quality meat, vegetables and noodles. Generous with beanshoots and basil. Unlike many restaurants with Uber Eats, this restaurant doesn't jack it's prices up for delivery with Menulog. Wide menu selection. Might need to refer to online menu as the one on Menulog doesn't make sense. I also ordered the salt & pepper tofu which is not the standard recipe but I enjoyed. It's served with a lemony sauce. It was made with agedashi tofu batter and served with a sprinkling of fresh vegetables. Not oily. I also had the wonton soup entree dish. That was disappointing. The soup was full of BBQ pork and vegetables which made it worthwhile, but the wontons were just little balls of sugar. Never had wontons like that before. They should leave out the BBQ pork from the soup and just make these properly with pork mince. The cleanest dining room I've ever been to. I have never been to a place where the table, tea urn, pages of the menu etc are as if they've never been touched.

Literally the best Viet place (I'm white tho so can't really rate), with the absolute best staff and service! Vermicelli is to die for, spring rolls are delish and the pho is always absolutely packed! Veggo so can't comment on the meat aspect but hey if you don't eat meat, this is a spot you want to try.

One of my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Melbourne. Friendly staff and a lot choice of dishes. My husband and I have been trying their foods and keep coming back for more. First, of course you need to try their pho (especially popular in winter). Personally, I love their vermicelli salad, which comes with bunch veggies, plenty of meat and well balanced sauce (some place can have it too sweet for my taste). If you're a fan of spicy fried things like me, do try their crispy chilli beef. I approve that (of course I requested more veggies to balance it). Their roti and peanut sauce is a gem too! I've never expected to have that good quality of roti other than at Malaysian restaurant but theirs is exceptional. Well done!

Really good sliced beef Pho in this place. Really cheap and pleasant experience. You have a big amount of choice between dishes in this place. True Vietnamese flavours.
David
Traditional Vietnamese food. Great value and service. I keep coming back for the Pho, which is amazing and the best I have had outside of Vietnam.

Really pleased with the dinner served at Pho Victoria. Typical Melbournian’s love delicious Vietnamese food that’s cheap.. well, this place definitely meets that criteria. Servings of meals are a great size. We were served almost instantaneously and the food arrived within 10 min afterwards. Only feedback would be that the steamed rice was a bit over cooked. Check it out!

Very nice pho name rice dishes here. Used to work nearby and this was relatively cheaper than many places around during late hours. Great price and nice food. Even takeaway retain its good quality. Became my regular go to for pho.
Kiss And Eat Up
Crazy good Pho here. Had a combo beef & chicken Pho takeaway and it did not disappoint. Tender beef and chicken slices accompanied in a beautiful steaming beef broth with a fresh kick of Asian herbs. I would return here just based on the rice noodle - damn good. Will definitely return.

Pho Victoria is a wonderful restaurant! The Singapore noodles and Pho are so good you have to remind yourself to try some of the other dishes like sizzling beef with garlic. Tonight I had the noodles for the 10th time or so. A full flavoured, satisfying portion, served in a timely and friendly manner. At $14.00 it is reasonably priced and the mellow, unpretentious atmosphere sees me coming back regularly. Until recently, I didn't much care for the complementary tea but that has improved a lot of late, hence high marks are deserved.

Was craving for Vietnamese so I ordered some takeout through Foodora. I was really surprised by how good the dishes were! We got the beef pho and there was literally raw meat clingwrapped inside the takeout bowl! Slightly scary at first but cooking the beef at home with the broth they gave made the beef taste really fresh. The broth was a little heavy on the star anise though. The combination rice and the crispy chicken on red rice was also pretty good. The red rice isn't red grain rice as I initially thought - it was more like tomato fried rice which I enjoyed nevertheless!

Not bad not bad at all.
Came here with my dad. He was more impressed with the beautiful local women slurping their noodles than his hot bowl of pho and my conversation material.

Pho really tasty! I'll be back here for sure yo!
Love living local.
Cheers.

Yummy Yummy Yummy. Love the beef soup, chicken wings and the pho a lot. Very efficient and staff are friendly. Perfect with the tea. Will be back for pho again!

Nice broken rice and beef noodle soup. The service was good and the staff were friendly. The price is reasonable. We will definitely come back.
I LOVE IT HERE!!! Great Pho my girl loves it. Always go for the Tom Yum though, nice and spicy! Tv is chill and vibe is great. Love the atmosphere here and the friendly staff.

100% One of my favourite places in the world. Not only is the pho such a delicious heartwarming treat that I could never get sick of, but the atmosphere, owners, waiters and waitresses are so lovely. Could not recommend this place more. There's a huge place in my heart for Pho Victoria.
Brunny Girl
The chicken pho is huge and not fatty. The bean sprouts and mint are always so fresh. The duck rice paper rolls are a standout. Tom Yum soup is nice and spicy. We come here probably every 2 weeks and the staff are always friendly and helpful.
Melbfoodie
Pretty average, but well priced. Was a regular until I was served raw chicken. No excuse for serving raw chicken. The chicken was raw (padding to meet minimum 140 characters).
Jordan Dean
I make a monthly trip here for the chicken Tom Yum pho with egg noodle. Sometimes the spring rolls too. :) The pho always comes with the side of extras, and love the condiments on the table to adjust the flavours to my liking. Not the flashiest looking place, but meh...
Foodie Duo
I try come here fortnightly (even in summer) to get good hearty chicken pho. The best pho in north Melbourne. The chicken is shredded and not fatty and you always get a big plate of bean sprouts and mint (which I love) to add to the pho
Lloyd Murphy
The pho was yum but nothing exceptional. Nice, solid pho. Service was nice. The pork rice paper rolls were a bit of a let down but still a nice Vietnamese restaurant to stop in at.
Swirler
Well, well , well... where to begin... we got the pho takeaway and it was warm, the beef was chewy, and the broth was overly salty with no flavor in comparison to traditional pho I have had. The spring rolls were OK but slightly bland. It was quite disappointed. Defs going to Footscray next time.
Goji
The rice vermicelli grilled pork & spring rolls are so tasty, just love the food and their friendly staff. Will come back to try their pho and broken rice.

We came here last Saturday during lunch. It was a busy little place, the staff were polite, attentive and they all had smiles on their faces. We ordered the prawn and pork rice paper rolls, they were very nice and the peanut sauce was tasty. I had the rice vermicelli with grilled pork, it was delicious. The pork was cooked really well and the nuoc cham sauce was very nice. My partner had the pho ga (chicken), the broth was tasty and the chicken cooked well. We would recommend a visit.

Ahhhh new job, new area, new places to explore .. well for lunch anyway! First off the rank was none other thank good old Vietnamese and rather then go for the usual pho I decided on the grilled chicken with rice and salad. Chicken was delicious, beautiful flavours and perfectly cooked however there was not enough! I'm not saying this in cheek. I wish I was. The second he handed me the bag I knew it was too light to be satisfying and felt more like a snack pack. Of course the side of rice would fill any normal person to an extent but I wanted the chicken !!! The rice itself was a perfectly set as the upside down bowel of plain white rice, matchstick carrots sat on top, sadly there was no pickling to the carrots and no sauce for the rice. At the bottom of the rice sat some now soggy green leaves, it was here I found the sauce. Would much prefer in a container on the side. All in all the chicken was amazing but not enough, maybe order an entree if you do get one of the lunch packs ... Only if you're as greedy as me. Oh and lastly they gave me a plastic fork .... I hate that!!! Give the chop sticks, just cause I'm white don't make that right!

The food is extremely cool and taste really good as well. It has the unique dishes and taste from Vietnamese cuisine. As a Vietnamese I really enjoy to eat here.

Came here tonight because our usual in Footscray was closed. Really pleased we did, everything was delicious. Great spring rolls and pho, perfect broth. Will be back!

I am so glad I have such a fantastic Viet restaurant literally on my block! Their pho is amazing and authentic, and my favourite dishes are is their rice paper rolls, which they make fresh, and vermicelli noodle salad. (And they do a great prawn cracker).
Great value for money, and fast, reliable takeaway service. The staff are super-polite, too. The restaurant is clean and air-conditioned, but not anything fancy. Their focus is on the excellent meals.
Le Caca
This place is really good. It's small and very quiet which is fine unless there's some bell end blah blahing away or someone chewing prawn crackers with their mouth wide open.
The tom yum and the hot and sour soups are bang on! Other favourites are the rare beef coleslaw, vermicilli bowls, seafood omelette. The fried chicken special atm is also fantastic. These guys also deliver really quickly
Bamposs
Simple and delicious - a really good takeaway option. Friendly place that feels family run. Being seated and served tea while you wait for takeaway is appreciated.

Tried the pho and the bun bo hue here. Both are amazing! ESPECIALLY THE BUN BO HUE, it is easily the best bbh broth I have ever tasted, so full of flavour. It really makes all the other bbh I've had taste so boring and bland. The bbh here cannot disappoint, even better than the stuff I get at springy
Jesskaar
We ordered the quail to start, followed by the bo bun hue (spicy beef noodle soup) and then normal beef noodle soup with brisket. The quail wasn't quite traditional but was slathered in a sweetish garlic sauce that made it all the more succulent. The bo bun hue was a bit too sweet and I had to add a lot of fresh chilli to make up for the lack of spiciness. The normal pho seemed to go down a treat with my friends, who said it was a nice, light, clean broth. I thought it was lacking in depth, however. At $10 a bowl of pho, this place is definitely value for money, but if you're looking for a good bo bun hue I would go across the road to Pho Hung.

Returned here after a few years. This experience was so much better than my previous. The beef pho I has was very tasty, tender and great value. The spring rolls were fresh, crispy n just delicious. Cheap, excellent value! Cant wait to return!!

I am trying to be balanced but the pho I just got was a tasteless broth with chunks of raw carrot (??) and very little protein, a big clump of rice noodles. Absolutely awful. Other diners were enjoying different items so could just be a bad day. Go to ANY other Viet for better soup or Footscray of course. Cheaper and tastier.

Favorite Vietnamese in Melbourne. This is my absolute favorite Vietnamese in Melbourne. I am yet to find pho that compares with Pho Victoria. Great service and amazing food. Love it!
The Hangry One
the beef pho tasted pretty good. It was better than most places in the area but still not the best I have tasted before. The other meals are pretty standard Vietnamese meals but still tasted nice. Reasonably priced and always received friendly service.

Excellent Vietnamese Restaurant. Definitely a great Vietnamese restaurant located in North Melbourne. As authentic as you can get for the suburbs! Excellent delivery service and very friendly!!! Highly recommended

Good clean tasty cheap. Our first time here. Rice paper rolls were fresh tasty and chock full of goodies. Pho is a standard job. Salt and Pepper Squid was very good.
We could see out back to the kitchen which looks very clean. what a classy joint..the bathroom even has a shower..cool
Tess Jacqueline
Fantastic. Always quick and friendly service, pho is fresh.

Solid local pho. I've always gone to Vic Street in Richmond for Pho, but ever since moving to West Melbourne, I decided to give this place a go. Despite its lame interior (what do you expect for a pho joint anyways?) it had attentive service and a solid pho. I always judge my pho by the Beef & Tendon; the broth was flavorful, and both beef and tendon were very tender and plentiful. Not as gigantic or low priced as some other places, but I reckon it's definitely worth the value and I'm glad to have it nearby! My partner had a stir fry of sorts and I wouldn't really recommend it; however after seeing some of the other vietnamese dishes on the menu I'm looking forward to trying more from the menu when the weather warms up :)

Best Pho in inner Melbourne. This is our local Vietnamese place and I am absolutely addicted. I've tried a lot of other pho places, but this one is consistently great.

The best and most silky slippery noodles, delicious broth with a great kick.

Staff are friendly and very accommodating if you want to make any changes.

Putting it out there.. Best Pho in Melbs. Delicious broth, tasty meat and big servings for $13. The vegetarian spring rolls were massive and packet with veges and tofu. The restaurant is fairly awkward- no ambience, but when the phos that good who cares.
Joanna N
Not a great place to eat in- the place is small and shabby and when we walked in it was quiet and awkward. The atmosphere wasn't inviting. The waiter clearly hated it there as he did not smile once, and I had to give him some looks for him to come and take our order. Food took around 15 minutes, slower than normal Vietnamese restaurants. How long does it take to put some pre cooked noodles and pre cooked broth into some bowls? Price isn't worth it, $12 for a bowl of Pho and the chicken was hard and dry. Can get a yummy bowl of Pho in sunshine or footscray for $9. Will definitely not come back or reccommend.

Delicious. SOO yum, everyone is so nice, big hearty servings. So happy that there is a great Vietnamese place in my neighbourhood!
Marianne
I love this place - clean, cheerful, great staff and consistently delicious and cheap food.
Majda Rahmanovic
I really loved my experience at Pho Victoria and am so happy to have a fantastic pho so close to home. I just wish they didn't use so much MSG because I couldn't stop drinking the water all night long! There's no need for it. Aside from that, I cannot fault it!
Defernate
Love the food, especially the coffee! And the wontons!
Edenn Eats
Love this place! Spring rolls are amazing, pho amazing and service spot on! Everything tastes very fresh and flavoursome here! Customer service very good too. New local favourite.
Helena Evans
The fact they went under new management, I am very impressed, their service was great compared to the old guy that used to manage the place, he was horrid. Since the new management came in food was excellent, love the fact that do delivery near by and take out and great service.
William
Fantastic with pho, good taste and price at Melbourne
Honey Hale
Outstanding pho, easily as good as the best pho I had in Vietnam. Delicious broth and absolutely silky noodles with fresh herbs - so yummy. I just come here for sliced beef pho because its heaven in a bowl. Well priced and the man that runs the place is lovely. And free tea in a thermos, just like they do in 'Nam!
Hanna
I can't say this one is the best pho I've ever had, since I've tried too many res in Richmond and Footscray. However it is obvious that you don't need to drive there to have great pho. Because here we have great one in North Mel with lovely service.
Joseph Dimela
Best pho ever. @marc, I disagree, it's obviously fried in oil hence it has taken away the seafood taste, and you must've let the noodles there for too long as that tens to happen when you eat a noodle based food, also the man is so lovely, did you want him to hold your hand whilst you eat instead?
Other than that, lovely pho, possibly the best I've had compared to many I've tried before, keep it up guys!
Jose
Marc Zamperoni
Terrible service, terrible food, terrible restaurant.
The spring rolls were undercooked and lacked any resemblance or texture of prawn.
The Pho was bland and very very over cooked. The beef was tough and leathery while the noodles almost turned to paste.

There was no atmosphere and the waiter was more interested in reading his newspaper.

It's a tacky little corner restaurant I suggest you stay well clear of.
