An unassuming little cafe which does basic stuff right. ❤️ I love their friendly service and their little touches like mini muffins w people’s coffee or tea.
I ordered the omelette of the day and was beautifully cooked.
The cafe itself was topsy turvey- you actually go past the dining area to the “front counter” to get served. So cute and homey

Junie Moon has a rustic, neighborhood cafe charm that truly warms the soul. With a friendly staff, reliable wifi, and humble menu, you have a great place to spend the morning or afternoon, perhaps even work (like we did!) We ordered a couple of drinks, a flat white and chai tea latte. Both drinks were tasty, but could have been a bit stronger and spicier (respectively.) We ordered the bacon, egg, & cheese toastie & quinoa salad for lunch.
The toastie was delicious, with crispy bacon, perfectly cooked, oozy fried egg, cheese, BBQ sauce & mayo. I enjoyed the sweetness of the BBQ, as it balanced the flavors of an otherwise salty sandwich. The quinoa salad had roasted pumpkin, kale, & feta, topped with a red wine vinaigrette. It didn't look like much, but the flavors were on point! It was nice to have a healthy, yet still tasty, dish to balance out that heavier toastie!
Definitely recommend having breakfast/lunch/brunch at Junie Moon's!
Today for brunch we headed to this cosy little café tucked away in West Melbourne. Loved the outdoor area, perfect spot to wynd down and relax while having a nice coffee and meal. Rustic decor was pleasant. Staff very friendly and sociable.
We ordered the Lebanese Summer Salad & Braised Pulled Chicken Burger. The salad was absolutely amazing!!! Couldn't understand where the zest was coming from so I asked the chef and she happily explained the whole dish in detail. It was so flavoursome, portion size on point. Chicken Burger was delicious, however I think it would be a good idea to add a side salad or chips to go with it. Love this place. Definitely do try if in the area.
Lovely little city oasis with outdoor seating. Unpretentious & super friendly/passionate staff. I didn't try the coffee (so can't comment). The sherry cream, chicken homemade fettuccine was one of the best pastas I've ever had! A lovely combination of quality ingredients. The freekah salad was fresh, tasty & filling. Looking forward to coming back :)
It's rare these days to find an old fashioned, simple sandwich done right! This unassuming little cafe in west Melbourne totally nails it! Their sandwiches are the best. My favorite is the ham and salad. It has home made pickles and chutney on it with a delicious selection of fresh salad ingredients. Yum!
This place has delicious food, friendly staff and a really nice feel. I've been twice now and both times the food was fresh and tasty. The cauliflower curry and Dahl was particularly great. Absolutely worth your time paying them a visit
Junie Moon's is a cute little cafe with lovely food and decor. Loved the pesto on the soup and the perfect toastie; and the quinoa salad was lovely and fresh. We had a little hiccup but the management handled it really graciously and were very helpful. Thank you :)
Quiet little cafe in west melbourne. Great service and the food is nice and fresh with a constantly changing menu. Recommend for a quick lunch time bite especially if its sunny, they have a nice little outdoor area
Great People, great food by a fantastic and talented chef, gorgeous little cafe, nom nom nom, really friendly loving feel at this place go down and give it a try! Worth it
I love this place. Completely unpretentious vibes, just delicious coffee and sandwiches. Plus the seating outdoors was super quaint and relaxing.
A great fresh delicious local - close to work - I can't decide between the Vietnamese chicken salad, smoked beetroot quinoa burger or pork belly sandwich as my favourite! Yum :)
Favourite café. Weekday menu changes weekly with delicious vego and non-vego dishes. Weekend menu includes brunch dishes like chia pudding, pork belly burgers and eggs your way with lots of delicious add ons! Nothing better than kicking back in the lush green courtyard having a coffee.
Such a great vibe in this place, I really love coming in! I'm always greeted with a huge smile and a big hello from Mel and Josh :) Mel's food is divine! While Josh makes magic happen with his coffees!! :D And their great outdoor courtyard makes me feel right at home. Love ya work guys!
Junie Moons is fantastic. The ever changing menu never fails to impress. We are working our way through the menu and it is incredible the coffee is the best I've had and the staff are so friendly and very professional. I wish it was closer to home because I would be there every day.
Friendly coffee even friendlier barista! Love sitting out in the gorgeous courtyard on a sunny day chowing down on a tasty sanga. This cafe is well worth the trek up the other end of Spencer Street.
What a beautiful little cafe this place is. Great staff and in particular the handsome batista. It's always awesome when you find a place that has good coffee and food as well. Will be making sure I come here again and again.
Love the food at Junie moon's. A really nice atmosphere with rotating artwork displayed in the front room. Food is always fresh and made to perfection. Love that they have a few staples on their menu that are available everyday, but also a weekly menu with specials that change from week to week. Truly is an outstanding place. Oh yeah, the barista is pretty handsome too. 😉
Although not entirely obvious from the Main street, Junie Moons offers a fantastic place to tuck yourself into and enjoy an array of taste sensations. Whether it be a lovingly made coffee, drink or beverage of your choice (they supply a wide range here), or one of the chefs mind blowing dishes, which change weekly, you're in for something special at Junie's. To top the whole experience off, the staff are so delightful you may find yourself returning just to see there smiling faces.
10/10 would recommend.
Amazing little place. Great coffee, delicious homemade food and amazing people who always make you feel welcome! Never a bad experience coming here.
Have been to Junie Moon's several times. They have the best sandwiches, really delicious and about four or so special items to pick from. These specials change weekly and are always excellent tasting and beautifully presented.
The seating is comfortable and welcoming with a wonderfully cute courtyard out the back. The coffee is really lovely and I'm fussy with my coffee. The team are always friendly and even remember our names which is not necessary but it's just nice. I wish I lived closer and could go more often! Highly recommend Junie Moon's.
Great cosy cafe. Can't speak highly enough of the food, absolutely delicious, great coffees too. The owners are very friendly and make you feel welcome. A great place for breakfast and lunch. A must!
Has a homely feel about it. Love walking in there, always so welcoming and it feels like they are your friends :) Awesome food and excellent customer service! (Love their brekkie balls and their variety of toasties).
Love this joint. Aside from being a super lovely couple, the food is fresh, innovative and delicious!
They offer solid selection of freshly-made sandwiches and several meal specials. My favourite so far has been the homemade pasta sheets in creamy mushroom sauce, and I don't usually like creamy pasta!
Nice out the back area as well as seats inside. I recommend this place!
Wonderfull cafe owners, love the concept and the whole set up of the place! The back yard area is amazing, could sit out there in the sun for days!
New owners who are very friendly! They serve delicious food which alternates and the pasta is just too good to not try! Actually all their food is a must try!
Fantastic coffee and food in a relaxed atmosphere.. Coffee is superb; it's so good that even I, Ben "Add-two-sugars-to-everything" Gray actually enjoy the flavour of whatever they use here, no sugar required. If you are similar to me and usually take your coffee with sugar, try a latte or cappuccino sans sugar - you may be surprised!
The food is remarkable. I've had three dishes here so far and have been impressed with each. I also tried a friend's meal and was really surprised: I eyed the roast pumpkin and quinoa salad with kale, feta and sunflower seeds suspiciously. "That looks too healthy to be good," I thought, immediately imagining it to be pretty bland and gross. I had a bite and was impressed with the extent of the flavour and balance. I'm going to grab a serving for myself, next time.
Finally, the atmosphere is great. If you're looking for a fine dining experience, take yourself and your reviews elsewhere. If you're looking for a non-pretentious, relaxed, home-cooked vibe complete with flavoursome food and coffee, check out Junie Moon's.
Junie Moons Caffè Latte. Chai Latte
Possibly the best sandwiches in town, and always a great selection of home made sweet treats. I have no idea why this place doesn't have a higher rating. The place is cute, the girls are lovely and the music is good. I think there are just a lot of uptight idiots on urbanspoon expecting to be coddled and finely dined at every venue in town.
Junie's is a neighbourhood lunch joint, not a restaurant. You go for good food and a friendly chat, and for these, it's never a miss!
Cool Kids Cafe. Currently my favorite cafe in Melbourne. The sweetest vintage west end decor. Cute and Sassy staff who make really good coffee and always remember your order! I always feel at home here.
This place has the best vibe about it! Had to rustle up some cash to pay for my hot chocolate, but it was no trouble and I'd definitely come back when I've got time to sit and enjoy the atmosphere!

Beautiful coffee (Crema) and pastrami and weird, excellent dim sims with a pleasantly insane and super friendly vibe from lovely cafe girls. Liked the music too.
Great food. Great coffee and full of hot girls with big boobs
Always a treat. We've visited Junie Moon's about 10 odd times now and the warm, homely surrounds, friendly staff, and quirky deco is always delightful. Coffees (Supreme beans) are always, always spot on, and the lady boss somehow remembers exactly how we take our coffee even when we've not had the time to drop by in over a month. The bacon sandwich is the best sandwich we've ever had, no exaggeration.
Dim sims are to die for, just what you want on a Melbourne winters day.
Small but perfectly formed. The menu at Junie Moon's is small but perfectly formed.
Good quality ingredients, a crew that loves what they do, and a couple of truly great sandwich options and some daily specials burst out of this little oasis every week day from 7am - 3pm.
The coffee is sublime and the steamed pork dumplings are served dressed with fresh coriander, white and black sesame seeds and soy sauce. Not like the deep fried packet dimmies on offer nearby.
Since moving up the road from their old venue (Romulus) they've only gotten better. Their quirky decor and personal style have also made the trip in better shape than they left.
If you find yourself up the end of Spencer St, give it a go.
Over the Moon. Junie Moon's certainly stands out from the pack. The peculiar décor, hip friendly staff & those wonderful mouthwatering homemade dim sims all make it a fabulous spot.
They were under the pump on the day I visited for lunch, but kept me content with a simple poached chicken sandwich whilst I waited excitedly for my dim sims to emerge from the kitchen.
The homemade dim sims at Junie Moons really are just wonderful. Containing a dense meaty filling, they’re served with diced spring onion, black sesame seeds and a splash of soya sauce.
So if you find yourself down the West Melbourne end of Spencer St, be sure to drop by and sample a plate of their exceptional dim sims. By all accounts, they also pull a reputable coffee using Supreme beans.
