I went their with friends and enjoy the lobster banquet, which is amazing !
The food was delicious and fast, important for us with 2 tired little kids. The wait staff were very attentive. The whole experience was spoilt due to the Nikki b staff arguing with me over whether my account t was savings or a credit card. I don’t have credit cards and it’s not my fault it comes up so on their system. I paid and refused to pay the bill and refused to pay a surcharge on a credit card I did not use! Not a nice way to end an otherwise pleasant evening.
One of the better restaurants in the casino amongst all the not-worth-it restaurants. This place specializes in Sichuan style dishes. The three cup chicken have a very robust flavours and goes really well with rice. The fried chicken is also great and have that hint of Sichuan peppercorn but not too overpowering.
Recommended for a decent Chinese meal at reasonable prices in the area.
The restaurant has very good variety in terms of selection, ranging from the currently popular Sichuan and shanghainese cuisine to Cantonese style dishes.
The restaurant is also spacious with very courteous service. Dishes come very quickly as well, hungry suitable for those looking to satisfy their hungry quickly or in a hurry. As it is quite spacious, there is no need to hurry as well as the waiter continuously refill the pot for you.
Dishes are also up to scratch despite its wide variety, not disappointing even if comparing to the more specialty restaurants within the vicinity and the price is reasonable.

Normally I wouldn't have high expectation for food in crown but this place has done a pretty decent job.
The manager helped us order food was very experienced and attentive. We had the soup of the day which was very nice and perfect for dry weather in Melbourne.
Crispy fried pigeon was a tad overcooked and lacking the BBQ flavour, wasn't really crispy.
The steamed parrot fish was perfectly cooked however we found it a bit overpriced. (over 150$)
Stir-fried diced fillet was my favourite dish of the night, well-marinated and melted in your mouth with every bite. Highly recommended.
Overall I would say this place is better than LuckyChan based on the value of pricing. If you are looking for Chinese food at Crown you know where you should visit.
I have been coming to this restaurant for the last few years and have been receiving one of the greatest service!!!!! Special mention goes to ALAN LEE, he listens to our requests and make sure we have the best experience every time we come in and also adds a personal touch. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to dine in. Please pass our regards to him, five stars for you Alan!!

Yes we ate almost everything! A very beautiful place to eat, we had the VIP ROOM, the food was super delicious and our waitress was so friendly and attentive, she did an amazing job. The food was legit it’s flavours. My favourite was the soft tofu with abalone sauce & the crispy fried prawns 🍤 yum! I’m definitely coming back for another round of delicious food.
This restaurant is located in Crown complex near the village cinema. The interior looks very nice and the service is attentive. Food is actually a mix of different Chinese cuisines, but overall taste pretty good. I feel the Cantonese cuisine may be the best cooking among all. The fish dish we ordered was yum!

Went there with my family and my boyfriends family on his birthday. It was their first meeting so I was little worried to choose the place. they made perfect arrangements and amazing food for sure.
I will suggest to order main dishes carefully as the food quantity is massive.

Steamed pork soup dumplings (xiao long bao) at Man Tong, Crown Melbourne. Quite expensive 4pc for $8.80. Similar to Din Tai Fung/China Red etc. The soup leaks out very easily on these ones, almost all of them broke before eating due to its very thin skin. These are bigger than Din Tai Fung and contain a lot of soup inside. Tasty and 4 isn't enough..haha

味道其实没有特别令人surprise的，但是风格是正宗的粤菜，挺精致。第一次是三个人来，点了个蟹和活鱼，还有别的蔬菜，吃了得有400+吧（还好我是个蹭饭的）。第二次和男票来，一条活鱼，一份水煮牛肉，一盆菠菜，175。其实如果乖乖地按照菜单上的点人均应该是在50左右，也不算贵。毕竟地理位置好，店装修得也很中国风。

Hands down to Man Tong’s service, they were very kind in setting out a nice dining table and serviette as well as a warm and cosy cup of tea on a windy wintery night. Food was rather average but the wonton with chilli oil topped the night, where its sweet yet umami taste could compliment every dish, to match our sweet and salty tastebuds. Xiao long bao with truffles was a unique yet rich and deep with flavour. Lastly, the mango pudding and banana fritter each go well with icecream, finishing the night off with a classic bang. Although it was slightly pricey, we kindly give a xiè xiè for filling our stomach with some hearty goodness!
Went here in a group! Got to try several dishes as we were a few people! Didn’t find a single dish I didn’t like! The prawn dishes and dumplings were super as were the rice and noodle dishes we ordered! Highly recommended!

I like to come here for the yum cha lunch. There’s a menu on the tables that you fill in yourself. Our favorite dish are the chili wontons. To me they are some if not the best chili wontons I’ve tasted. I also highly recommend the chili eggplant and pork mince. It has so much flavour. The bbq pork buns are so light and fluffy and the filling is very tasty. We always finish with the custard buns. So yum.
This is a great alternative is Silks or Spice Temple are booked out. The eggplant and pork mince spicy noodle soup I had totally hit the spot. Service was spot on.
Came for a Sunday lunch for a friends birthday. We had a group of 8 including 2 children. Staff were very accomodating with the children making plenty of room and being very attentive.
We went for a choice of banquet A which was plenty of food. Service was great and food was good. I would recommend if in town try this place. We will be back.
Absolutely Devine! We started off with some dumplings and spring rolls. The chive and prawn dumplings are too die for! We then shared a main of pork belly and honey and pepper steak! So tender and tasty! Customer service was at its highest as always.
Man Tong is normally busy and usually have a long wait for table if you try to walk in without reservation. We’re lucky to have a table for 2 right away on Sunday evening but had to leave before 7:45 pm which is next dinner seating. 1 hour time limit for dinner wasn’t an issue for us as we’re only here for dumplings. Their signature xiao long bao was delicious! The dumpling skin was so silky smooth and the meat was so tender. The flavourful broth from inside the dumpling burst into your mouth the minute you bite into it. My partner reckoned it was the best xiao long bao he has ever had!! We also ordered the Szechuan dumplings, Peking duck pancakes and red bean pancakes. Service is good throughout the evening. Inpressive opulent oriental interior design too. My only critic was it’s expensive to charge $5 per head for Chinese tea.
We had one of the banquet dinners. The xiao long baos were really good - the skin was thin and the dumplings were soupy. The fried rice was fragrant and well cooked. The food came out at a good pace and we were really full by dessert as the servings were a good size. The service and the atmosphere was good. This place caters more to the Western palate so don’t expect traditional Chinese food here.
Food was 10/10, couldn’t fault it! Service was wonderful, our server Summer was a gem. Would highly recommend. Well worth the price as well!
Man Tong Kitchen offered very delicious dim sum/Chinese cuisine (I especially loved the crispy fried quail and prawn toasts!). Service was friendly and attentive. Also loved the premium feel and cozy atmosphere of the restaurant. Can’t recommend it highly enough!
The ambience is beautiful, full of class. Set right next to the casino. The food is alright, I can't say it is particularly better than other Chinese restaurants, however the quality of food is probably better. The staff were lovely and we were well catered to.
A picture of dumplings at the front of the restaurant was all it took for us to want to eat at Man Tong as we passed to go to the exhibition centre. So we did and clearly ordered wayyyy too much. Luckily we were able to take it away and have it for dinner.
Service was pretty on point as you would expect at these types of restaurants. Quick and delicious and all at a reasonable price. Wouldn't mind having some right now actually. Till next time, this is Our Foodie Find!
Great ambience, great food and great service. They serve authentic shangainese food. Their shanghai dumplings are great and made well, and their nian gao is wonderful but oily. Always great food!

I had the opportunity to dine here with some friends as we had received some food vouchers from Crown. We decided to have dishes from the yum cha menu for lunch. There is a decent amount of dishes to choose from the yum cha and lunch menu.
Our favourite dish for the day was their traditional Xiao Long Bao. The skin was really thin and had a decent amount of soup inside. The portions of the food were reasonable and the customer service was excellent. The pricing was also reasonable for the quality and service, especially since it was inside Crown and a nice environment.
Delicious.walk away feeling very full but not with a heavy stomach. Lychee martini is yummy. The complimentary tea helps cleanse your pallet after each item.
Lovely place, great service and food. It is open till late at night which is a great bonus! Love the ambience of this restaurant. The food is a more refined version of its sister restaurant- Hutong.

We ordered the honey chicken, Mongolian beef, Shanghai noodles and pan fried pork dumplings. The pork dumplings were the star of the show! So juicy and such authentic flavours. The rest of the dishes were really nice but tasted like other Asian restaurants with the hefty price tag. So many dishes to choose from with some having decent pricing. But steer away from those overpriced dishes as they taste the same anywhere else. Overall, service was amazing and prompt and very friendly.
Very authentic looking restaurant, gives you the vibe you're in China. The food that came out was good, some dishes hit the spot and some could be better. The staff was amazing.
Been meaning to try this place for a while. I’ve heard good things about this restaurant so when my friends and I were meeting up, we figured why not!?. We ordered a few dishes (I don’t have all the photos). We ordered the xiao long bao, pork dumplings, jellyfish salad, cucumber with garlic, won tons in chilli and steamed prawn and pork dumpling.
Oh yeah super tasty dumplings! Been here a few times when staying at crown. As always way overpriced restaurant at the casino but food is amazing.
Man Tong, some may say they are expensive but the food taste good not a lot of msg. You can watch them make dumpling at the window, also there are a few private rooms, good for meeting or a celebration.
Wonton in chilli sauce is my favorite. I love how the fried foods don't come out oily or dripping in oil. The waiters and waitress are lovely and nice, they will offer to help if they see you with a pram and small children. The place is spacey so it is pram/children/baby friendly. And also the resturant interior reminds me of something out of a Chinese palaces.

Prices are a bit on the higher side, but i guess you pay a premium when you go to rest. in crown.

I remember first coming to Man Tong four years ago when it was newly opened and thinking will it ever be less busy? The answer is a resounding no. Ironically enough Man Tong actually means full house in Chinese. A sister restaurant to Hu Tong its the more refined more expensive sibling.
The staff were super accommodating (to the point where they even brought my friend a bag of ice for his sore neck, yes he's super embarrassing we will leave him at home next time). The interior is breathtaking all traditional red and gold with marble pillars. Suitable for a special occasion. We ordered plenty of prawn dumplings, veggie spring rolls and spicy salt and pepper squid (signature dish). The usual suspects but there's certainly more adventurous choices available like Chinese caterpillar fungus if you are game. There are a lot of signature dishes on the menu so we chose two more for mains sizzling Mongolian beef and sizzling chicken with black bean. Everything was delicious, authentic Chinese in a more contemporary way
The visit to Man Tong Kitchen was an impromptu and special one because it marked our 10th wedding anniversary. We were out in the CBD visiting friends and since our little fellow was getting bored, decided to stop at Crown for some gaming fun at the newly renovated Kingpin entertainment area. Like many, I was only aware of the food court and the high end restaurants but not the mid priced ones located on Level I. A spot of shopping at the retail area landed us in this area and we were delighted to see the dining options. And thus we decided to indulge ourselves at Man Tong Kitchen as a little treat to ourselves.
My favourite late night Asian 😍 I know i rate alot of the places I go very highly but it's because I've liked them and been going to them for soooo long that I can't lie!! The food here is so tasty... honestly better than lucky chan in my opinion. Especially the beef noodles and the prawn dumplings 😍 oh and spring rolls!! Located on level 1 of Crown casino precinct this restaurant is not quite advertised as most patrons move ground level or food court or on South bank.
A oriental look of the restaurant welcomes you to a spacious and well decorated comfortable seating.
Wine and spirits on list are average. Expectation at such fine dine restaurant was to experiment some traditional Chinese drinks which were not on the menu. We settled for a GlenMorangie and Havana Club.
For apetisers we ordered won ton soups with noodles. This was extremely tasty and we were almost about to call in for second round. This followed with Seafood San choi bao and Shredded chicken with szechuan chilli. The chicken served on lettuce was spicy and particularly appealing. Seafood apetiser was average and required generous soy sauce addition.
For mains we ordered Szechuan style fish fillet in chilli oil and steamed rice. The size of mains was very very generous and could feed twice the number of people that were on table!
Did not have any desserts. The cheque was not really too bad considering location, ambience and serve size. Staff I believe need more training in terms of explaining patrons with options available and with some refined communication skills.

The food here is good. Service was good, but that may have been because they had too many wait staff on and they were bored. The xiao long bao is delicious, though too big it fit in your mouth for the one bite. We had 2 noodles dishes which were good. But in general this place is pretty expensive for good.

Ma Tong in Southbank is an elegant classy Chinese restaurant with a menu as long as a Ph.D thesis! The place has a nice vibe, great decoration and atmosphere, and different eating areas. Poshy, therefore, of my liking. I have tried a few things there and I was quite pleased with them all.
The stuffed eggplant with crab mince in black been sauce was lovely, but I didn't think the sauce favoured the seafood. My least preferred.
The duck meat spring rolls were actually very good, with plenty of meat inside, crunchy, not too oily outside, and quite filling! One of the best spring rolls I have eaten in Melbourne.
The wontons in chilli sauce were simply excellent. The sauce wasn't as spicy as in other Chinese eateries, but the flavour was wonderful, the dumplings were properly sealed, not overcooked, full of yummy bulky filling. Fresh and delicious!
I couldn't pass something I had never tried, the fried ice-cream. This was utterly disappointing. Perhaps I had false expectations; I expected the fried crust to be at least warm, but it was all cold. The ice-cream inside was too thick, not too nice, and the side pieces of syrupy fruit too sweet.
They have Yumcha a la carte but not traditional one.
I found part of the menu similar to Din Tai Fung but more sophisticated and varied, and with plenty of dishes that are very Chinese: tripe, chicken feet, claypots, live fish/seafood, preserved eggs, a few Sechuan and Shanghai dishes, from mild to super-hot.
Chinese do share at the table, so many of the dishes on offer are for sharing. Yet, I shared some of them with my belly :)) The Claypots are huge!
The service was fast and good, but some of the girls were a bit matter of fact. The one that attended to me most times was really lovely, yai!, and I thought she had the best possible attitude and made a positive impression on me.
Crown prices here, so everything you put in your mouth will be expensive, but some of the small dishes and dumplings weren't too bad. The banquets are a bit pricey and I don't think they are worth it unless you go and eat with a group of people or simply with people who eat a lot.
I always going to a Chinese restaurant and seeing Chinese families and people eating there, always a guarantee that you are getting decent Chinese food not a pseudo thing.

It was a busy night at Crown and was a long wait at Man Tong Kitchen. But I was craving Chinese Food. So they took our number and rang us as soon as a table was available. The place is pleasant and staff attentive. I love their Crab Meat & corn soup. Their ice tea was delightful and those famous soupy dumplings are just delicious! We tried many more dishes but did not stand out like the soup & dumplings.
Ate here for late lunch on a Sunday arvo. We were promptly directed to a table by the front staff and provided the menus. From ordering, it took about 15 mins for food service. I must say that the food were delicious!!! 👍 AND I would favour this resto slightly above the other Chinese restaurants I have previously reviewed. For those of you looking for that 'well-seasoned' wok taste, I found it here. The seafood combination noodles was our favourite and the roast duck was on point. We also had the pork and prawn dumplings which came out steaming hot! I would only suggest to the staff to ease off slightly on pouring the drinks for us. However this is a very minor negative that I experienced BUT the food definitely tasted great!
I enjoyed our dinner at Man Tong. The servers were lovely and the food was great. My only negative comment would be that one of our group was served all of her food and finished it before the others got theirs. Not a biggie though. Definitely book! Queue was huuuuuuge.
The dishes were well presented and the service was great. The food though was just okay and with those price tags, it's barely recommendable. The worst though was the fried dumplings... It's probably one of the worst I've ever had. They were cold and tasteless
Went to man tong after a work function and absolutely enjoyed it. Strongly recommend red chilli oil wonton and it's the best dish amongst all we ordered.
My new favorite chinese now! All the dishes are tasty...being a bit pricy for chinese food..but the quality and flavour of the food is really good.huge variety in the menu, from yum cha dumplings to crab, abalone and lobster. The only difficultyis to pick the dishes u want order. They have claypot silken toufu cooked with sea urchin, which is really delicious and innovative that i havent this dish anywhere else before.
The serving size is big too. ..service is attentive...much better than silk!! Dont waste ur money in silk.

Seldom have steamed fish after I came to Melbourne. Felt like home again.
The price here is more expensive than those you find in the CBD, but it's still acceptable. Mediocre food, at least you won't get disappointed.
The food was great and very well priced. The dumplings were my favourite. Above all else though the staff were amazing, so attentive and polite. I didn't realise until after our wine came to the table that it must have been a bottle that they had to go and get from storage as they popped out and then returned with it. An absolutely fantastic place and one I would highly recommend.
Had dinner with a couple of friends here after a meeting, safe to say the dumplings were amazing as my manager has already suggested!! Peking duck was also on point, mind you this was also the first place I'd ever tried soup dumpling, thanks for the great experience
We always walk by this place when we come down the escalator from the movies in The Crown. There is usually a line. Hopefully this doesn't sound bad, but we watched Kung Fu Panda 3 and when we came down the escalator I saw one of the chefs in the window making fresh dumplings, it all just fit together. No line, we sat right down and I loved it! Service was also very good. So why only "3.5"? The problem was not the food (it was delicious), the issue is that I kept comparing it to my favorite dumplings. And if my favorite dumplings ever were/are a "5", then these are a 3.5. Again, not to say it wasn't great, I would absolutely without any reservation would return and dine here again. Hopefully all that makes some sense. And I find myself liking hot & sour soup more and more and more, I just love it!!!
Staff and venue were lovely. Ordered veg dumplings aswell as veg San Choi Bow, both were delicious and of high quality. Put in order for mains and then soon after staff came around to advise last orders must be put in soon as kitchen closing. Patiently awaited our mains and then eventually queried the whereabouts-it appeared staff forgot to process order and as the kitchen had shut, we were unable to get anymore food. Staff were very apologetic (it was an honest mistake, we weren't too upset about it) and offered us a free drink to compensate. We were happy with this. Overall great experience, yes little pricier than you'd pay in say China town, but worth it for the high standard of service/cleanliness.

The menu has a big selection along with a very comprehensive wine list.
The dumplings are next level and you can taste the difference in the fillings. The wontons in chilli oil was a stand out.
The spicy fried squid had a very light batter and the squid was perfectly cooked. The tender beef in XO sauce had a complex flavour profile with a pleasant hit of chilli. There's a big menu to work through and I can't wait to be back!
Wow !! What a great service. We had the duck pancakes , fried rice and Mongolian . All were fresh and prepared with lots of flavour.Highly recommend.
Seems a lot of reviewers were not impressed with the food, service and price. We were very impressed with the food which had top quality ingredients, excellent flavour, and large servings. The service was from young international student types, so efficient, helpful, attentive even, but not necessarily warm and friendly. I couldn't care less: take my order, bring it quickly. I don't need you to be my friend. The price was well worth it for the dishes we had. We had to order carefully because there were some really expensive options, but we found plenty to like at around $40 per dish. We ordered 3 mains (prawns, seafood, fish, with one entree and rice) and two were like a double serve, one could have served 4 people. We barely touched the third, too full. Drinks had reasonably priced options and good pour size. I'm sorry some people didn't enjoy their meal but if you like Chinese food like you used to get years ago at your favourite Chinese restaurant, I recommend you try Man Tong
Absolutely love Man tongs, delicious food everytime, lovely staff and great cocktails! The dumplings are so delicious and the BEST fried rice you can get in Melbourne. If you haven't tried out Man tongs yet, I highly recommend you do. You won't be disappointed 😁
Wow !! What a great menu and service. We had the duck pancakes , spicy dumplings, fried rice , garlic green Veges, chicken corn soup and fried ice cream. All were fresh and prepared with lots of flavour. We are here for a few more days and will definitely be eating here again. 5 star. Highly recommend.
