Came here for lunch. Was trying to get into a popular Ramen restaurant directly opposite but the queue was ridiculous, so came here instead. I wasn't disappointed with Musashi at all hence the 5 stars! The service was excellent and quick. The Ramen delicious, hearty and filling. Good choice of karaage Chicken or normal chicken an excellent idea with your Ramen. Menu caters for all and at an reasonable price of circa $13 for a Ramen. Nice accompaniments on the table and water etc. Comfortable seating. Will be coming back for sure
Had a great bowl of ramen here, had the Hakata Original. Good serving size, succulent pork belly, great creamy broth and nice noodles. Also friendly service and nice astethtic! Just a heads up not a huge restaurant, so not ideal for big groups bit good for a party up to 6ppl. Worth a visit!
Nice and low key place. We grabbed the lunch deal which was super good for what you got. We left with our bellies full. I chose the chicken ramen with umami broth which was so nice, broth was thick and creamy. Wasn’t a big fan of the boiled chicken, it would have been nicer thinly sliced. All in all, would come back.

The first bite of the M9 Wagyu Beef made me ecstatic and, at the same time, parallel thought, wish I could afford this delicious beef to have every day. It was my first time to Musashi Ramen along with my best friend (his second time here). At first, the only reason I wanted to go in here was the fact that I can make an Instagram story of how they cook the beef using the torch. While that part was immensely satisfying to watch, the first bite of the meat made the difference. The meat was soft, had a texture that melts inside your mouth, and delicious. I was skeptical about how well the beef is cooked, but, to my surprise, it was cooked to perfection.
The staff was quite friendly and very corporative while I was making videos and clicking pictures. The ambiance is very pleasing and a right place to dine. The food we have ordered is the limited time special, and the wagyu beef is the highlight. The soy-based soup was decent, not the best. I loved the healthy egg-based noodles they have served. As I peek into the nearby tables, me being cheeky, I found a lot of dishes that are very much appetizing. I am sure they have lot of other dishes to try and I will definitely give it a try. I am more than happy to recommend this place to anyone. Great job, guys.

The greeting and service was great. The atmosphere of the place was very traditional ramen bar like. We ordered the Hakata Tonkotsu with extra egg. The broth was easily my favourite part of the dish, I wanted more. One of my favourite ramen bars in Melbourne now. I would highly recommend to anyone.

Musashi Ramen Bar is a great place to have delicious ramen, bento and small sides. It has a cozy atmosphere where you can hangout with friends and eat yummy food. The price for portion is good as well, you’ll be sure to have a full stomach after eating a bowl of ramen or a bento.
I have visited this place more than 3x now, it’s become my go-to ramen place, and i’ll definitely be back for more.

I love this place so much some of the best ramen and dons in Melbourne.
My partner and I always come here and I always forget to leave a good review so here it is.
Last night my partner and I went and I ordered my favourite sichuan ramen. The toppings were amazing, the egg that comes with the ramens is always amazing it savoury yet the yolk itself is sweet in the middle just like soy egg should be. The broth itself is always fantastic however my only small issue is that the levels of spiciness can be inconsistent and I never know how hot it will be on the day. Overall still an amazing meal.
My partner ordered the Teriyaki Don for the first time and we both agree that it's one of the best dons we've had in a while. The terriaki beef sauce is lovely and the pumpkin coquette and ebi are great.
The atmosphere is cozy and modern, with fun kpop playing in the background making the experience feel authentic and fun.
The waitstaff are always very friendly and attentive.
Overall I give them a 4.5/5, Musashi Ramen is worth putting on your ramen list.
I was attracted by the bright signboard and simply styled interior of this place. The ramen bowls were delicious. They were priced competitively. The noodles were cooked to perfection while the broths were packed full of flavour. The meats were tender and almost melted in our mouths. To top off the meal, we had their green tea and sesame ice cream which were creamy but not overly sweet.
To give your taste buds a good time, come on down to Musashi Ramen!
Ramen noodles have a great texture. Perfect amount of chewiness. Had the red dragon (spicy), broth wasn't that tasty, overly salty. Would come back for the dry ramen though. They also serve some Japanese whiskies and I'm always down for whiskey.
This is now my favourite ramen spot. I ordered the standard pork ramen with extra noodles which comes on the side. The broth was very flavorful. The noodles cooked perfectly and had a nice chewy texture. The egg had a soft yoke and wasnt overcooked. The pork was very tender with great taste. I couldnt fault it.
For condiments they have seseme seeds, chilli oil, soy sauce and spicy pickles.
The broth was too good to add any condiments but, I left the extra side of noodles in there bowl, added a small amount of broth, and all condiments. It was delicious!
Very friendly staff, ramen I cant fault. I cant wait to return.

The place is not too crampy and has a Japanese vibe. They have a second floor but i reckon it's for another eatery.
The staffs were friendly, and food was out quite quick. Getting their attention wasn't hard.
The original white tonkotsu ramen was quite yum. We could choose between light or original broth and went with the latter, with noodle doneness hard. The ramen came with seasoned egg which was good, bamboo shoots and beansprouts, spring onions, and the pork itself was decent amount. The noodle is on the thinner side and was properly cooked and still has that nice bite to it. The soup was bit too salty for our preference so when we had an extra kaedama with soup we went with the light version, but it was too bland. We prefer the original one. The broth tasted very rich though. Portion wise it was decent.
Salmon don was a filling portion. The salmon was cooked decently, not tough, bit under seasoned but good size. The rice was drenched in teriyaki sauce so I asked for it to be changed and they actually gave me extra rice. They were tad bit overcooked.
I did enjoy the side salad as they were plenty and refreshing, i especially liked the sweet potato chips on top. There were also stir fried vegetables that came with it which was pretty good. Some mayo on the side was a bit excessive.
The yuzu sake was great and was served in a bucket of iced water which was cute. The glasses were really nice too.
Overall a pretty great place for ramen/don.

We got the Hakata Tonkotsu and Tori Shoyu - both were really good. Personally loved the level of saltiness of the soup and the springy noodles. The chicken and chashu were also really good. Will definitely come back if I'm in the vicinity

Arriving at 12.15pm, the place was already 90% full. I guess because its cold, and noodles are quite easy to eat and Im guessing also it must be good if there are so many people.

A decent size little ramen place, as you walk in, you kind of feel like you've stepped into old streets of Tokyo/Japan with dark wooden frames, lanterns overhanging the ceiling and also fake roofing.

The waiter was very efficient in clearing a table and giving me menu. I asked for some water and the waitress who was nearby quickly got me a glass of water with a smile. Very nice customer service.

The ramen was delicious. The noodle texture is so different from other ramen shops in Melbourne. This ramen is a bit curly and texture is a little chewy which is quite nice.
The broth very flavoursome, rich and creamy. As the broth was a bit rich from the heavy black garlic I was unable to finish the soup but everything else all finished. Even though its a lunch special, the ramen portion is the same as if you were getting standard size, so there is not size reduction, you get the normal size which is a good deal. The pork was quite thick compared to other ramen places and was a decent portion.
On the table, you have a very neat caddy with one side filled with napkins and wooden chopsticks. The other side are condiments with cute image at the front to indicate what each of them are - spicy pickles, ramen sauce, chilli oil, sesame.
The gyoza unfortunately was not so great. It was very oily. I would suggest to even pat off the oil before transferring to the plate. I ate the first gyoza and it was not nice at all.The 2nd gyoza I used 2 napkins to top off some of the oil which was alot better but I felt the flavours were missing in the gyoza. Something lacking. I did manage to finish them all in between eating the ramen,but next time I wont be ordering the gyoza.

Chanced upon this place after another ramen place I normally go to had a super long queue. Good choice in the end. Ordered the Red Dragon - spicy ramen with extra noodles. Superb tasting broth and noodles.
Came here to satisfy my craving for ramen in cold Melbourne weather.
When we were ordering, we were told that they ran out chicken broth and ask if it's okay to use pork broth instead. We were having thought that it'd taste a little funny because we also have chicken karage on top, but it turned out fine. The broth was very umami and a bit sweet from the corn. I love the combination of it.

Walking into Musashi Ramen makes me feel like I’ve been transported to Japan. The decor is super cute and the wait staff are sweet and friendly. They do a great ramen but I love the variety of side dishes they have on offer. My favourites are the wagyu skewers and fried chicken.
Me and husband went in for dinner on Friday night. There was not much queue and we were seated after 10 mins of wait. They gave us a table with 4 seats, which we thought was very generous! 😄 Ordered Red Phoenix with tori karaage (served separately), teriyaki beef bento set and pork gyoza. Verdict: the food came out quick and they were delicious!! Not liking their spicy pickled vege though, as they were very salty.
Nice basic ramen! I went out of my comfort zone and opted for the black tora ramen. Don’t be alarmed it really didn’t taste any different to the classic ramens. In my opinion it just had a different colour. Although I really liked this place, my favourite ramen place, hakata is just across the street so I’ve only been here once

The reason why I've given this a 4 stars is because I am complying with the majority of reviewers.
Also because it is well deserved for its excellent customer service, restaurant decor and semi okay food.
The bamboo chopsticks almost gave me splinters which is a serious OHS concern. But luckily I had great company who knew what they were doing.
This is my favourite restaurant, which I can come for some late night supper. I personally like their ramen. I would vote they have the best ramen in Melbourne. Other food items are good too

Dropped by for dinner, ordered the Red Phoenix with Karaage, noodles were tasty and good. They only gave three pieces of Karaage and they were quite nice. Service was generally good but can be improved. Don't go alone -you get better service if in groups/pairs, just a logistic thing for them.

I’ve been to musasti countless times for a midnight ramen. The staff were s amazing and super kind, the menu caters to EVERYBODY with a lot of options and all the possible variations. They also have a wide variety of starters/small plates like karaage, gyozas and run some nice specials. Get in there, have ramen and be happy!

Holy moly! I’m blown away at the good here. I wish I had three stomachs so I could fit more food in! We had Seafood Tom yum ramen, Black tora ramen, reckon chips and a Sakura sour.
Overall the service was great! The staff greet you as soon as you enter and were very quickly served. The food came out not long after we ordered.
I’m happy to say we will be coming back for more.
Yummm! Had the seafood Tom Yum and my wife had the black toro fungus and was so tasty. We love our ramen and this one ticked all the boxes, noodles, flavour and ingredients. Would come back again!

This place was such a good call .. I had a best ramen here . I got the Sichuan ramen which was spicy and delicious. My husband got a bento box .. which didn't pack the kind of punch my ramen did ... But the best part was the ox tongue !! Who would have thought it could be so soft and so melt-in-the mouth !! Finished the meal off with some brilliant green tea ice cream !
We came here at 1am on a Friday night and it was still busy. But it was definitely an enjoyable atmosphere. I enjoyed the ambience and decorating of the restaurant very much.
We ordered the red Phoenix which tasted great. Good flavour and quite affordable at $13.80. We had to wait about 15 minutes. Staff were nice and friendly. Would definitely come back to try their other dishes.

Late night ramens cannot get any better
We tried the normal tonkotsu ramen and the one with fried chicken.
The soup has a lot of depth and the noodles hard in texture , ingredients were very generous and they provided a lot of condiments for you to add as you please
We had a ramen craving and feeling ramen venturous, we decided to try somewhere new instead of the usual favourites.
Sitauated near chinatown and with the bustle on the street, the store's front was like any other. However upon entering, we were welcomed to what felt like a little part of Japan. The Japanese staff quickly seated us and took our orders.
For starters we had the takoyaki and ika kara tapas which was delivered promply, hot, and delicious.
And for our most important item, we got the Hakata tonkotsu and black tora ramen. The ramen was almost on par with our other favourites ramen places if only the flavoured egg, broth, and pork had a bit more flavour. We also found the ratio of noodles overwhelming the flavours of the broth as we had to finish mouthfuls of noodles first in oder to get a few good spoonful of broth.
Musashi Ramen could definitely be one of the top competitors in the Melbourne ramen game. Not only do they specialise in ramen, but they also have a huge variety of Izakaya-style tapas, bento boxes and more. They also offer different types of ramen, from tonkotsu to shoyu to dry and even specialty ones.
The ramen itself is quite nice. I has the Red Dragon ramen with a side of Gyoza in the lunch combo ($15), which I think is pretty good for value. I love the thin noodles that have a nice bite, and the soft and melty pork belly. The soup broth is rich and flavourful, and packs a bit of a kick from the Spicy Dragon marinade.
They’re also open late at night so you can fulfill your midnight ramen cravings, or even enjoy the robata grill and some izakaya tapas!

We had their signature white and black ramen with noodles medium. Broth was very tasty and noodles al dente. Pork melts in the mouth, egg perfect, yoke gooey and yummy. Just when we thought it couldn’t be better, the deep fried oysters and the wagyu skewers arrived at the table. Oysters was creamy with a crunchy outer crust, served with a sriracha mayo. The wagyu was served with wasabi salt. Melt in the mouth, great beefy, grilled flavor. Can’t wait to come back.
Ramen tastes great even I ordered takeaway and had it at home after 1hr travel time. Ordered both dry ramen and soup ramen- both had chewy noodles and packed with great flavour. The skewers were a bit disappointed comparing to the noodle - plus they were quite expensive.
Rating is actually a 3.5. The place is pretty nice and we ordered a whole heap of food. The gyoza was very flavourful and the takoyaki balls were nice. I ordered the Black Tora - which is Musashi's original tonkotsu broth with special fragrant black garlic served with thin noodles, pork belly, braised egg, black fungus, and spring onions. The pork belly was a bit too fatty and tasteless however was very soft and tender. The broth was nice at the start and then half way through it, it had a very bitter taste which I was a bit disappointed about.

Originally came here on a whim, we were meaning to go to the ramen place opposite but the queue was too long so we decided to try Mushashi. Always amazing food and service when I come here, honestly can compare to the quality and standards in Japan. Highlight is definitely takoyaki - not the usual flour filled takoyaki balls with a little piece of octopus you normally eat elsewhere. They are crispy, full of octopus and definitely worth ordering. You can choose soft or hard noodles in the ramen and the toppings are always very generous. I love how the drinks are served in glasses and not out of the can also.
Good place to head to on Russell Street during late nights, they are open late everyday, until 3am on weekends, me and my mates all love coming together and enjoy some drinks and ramen, broth is very authentic just like i had at Fukuoka in Japan, love it!

It was full at 11pm and friendly staff offered us upstairs.
Downstairs dining area has wooden 6 people tables both sides and upstairs had BBQ style and a bar.
Ramen and Gyoza dumplings were authentic Japanese taste but quite oily to me, libs skewer was the best out of set skewers and sesami cute drink was quite sweet.
All staff who served us were Korean with transceivers and felt more like Korean BBQ Restaurant.
Lined up across the road but line was so long that i estimated an hours wait so looked over and noticed no line at this place. We were seated immediately even though only a couple of empty seats. We started with the chicken kara-age and it was delicious then followed up by vegetable gyoza, can i say those gyozas were stunning with a lovely char and flavorsome filling. Then my Hakata Tonkotsu arrived and it was glistening. The amazing broth was full of flavour, beautiful tender pork belly and that amazing braised egg was moreish as only the japanese can do them. What a wonderful experience and taken straight to Japan with those house made noodles. I love this place! Melbourne we are blessed with ramen bars popping up everywhere, love to see one open in Flemington or Kensington soon!
Wonderful atmosphere, fast service and the food comes out so quick, did not expect it tbh. Have tried the ramen and also the dry ramens and they both are just amazing!!
The black garlic broth ramen really hit the spot - so flavoursome and the soup was so creamy. In terms of price, it's average for ramen. But otherwise the place is pretty cute (decor-wise) and the menu has a lot of variety. Good place for a quick, cheap eat.

If you want to experience amazing Ramen with ambience and a dining experience that gets as close to Japan as Melbourne can, come to Musashi Ramen on Russell Street. As soon as we entered, we were greeted in Japanese mannerism and etiquette, promptly seated with our meals coming even quicker.
Today we ordered the classic white and black pork Ramen, both with an extra egg. To sum it up, the Ramen was fantastic. There are options to spice or garlic up your meal on the table which is a great convenience for people like myself who love garlic, and people like Emily who want that extra chilli taste. The noodles were nice (you get to choose the firmness), whilst the broth was especially delicious. The white broth radiated a more egg-like flavour whilst the black Ramen was more pork / garlic flavoured, with the latter definitely more of a flavourful option. Both ramens were fantastic, the egg was soft, the pork was tender, these dishes were just what Ramen SHOULD be.
Musashi definitely sets the benchmark of how Ramen should taste. When you are sitting in there, you can't help but imagine yourself in Japan. We felt like we were in Shibuya about to exit the serenity into the night life. Great Ramen, great value and ambience. A must try for all Ramen lovers!

Went there today with colleagues and ordered the original hakata tonkotsu ramen with Gyoza for lunch special. Ramen was very nice but if you follow my other ramen posts, I am sensitive about pickled ginger. They didn’t have it and when I asked staff they gave me ginger paste! Gyoza was average , colleagues enjoyed the meal and service was fast. Not the best in Melbourne but pretty good for lunch if you want to avoid waiting in line for hakata gensuke.
The best thing about this place is their $15 lunch time special. The ramen itself is tasty, has a decent amount of toppings and has a nice bodied broth. The sides that come with it are a little average and weren't fresh (we had the chicken karaage and the gyzoa) but still good for what you get. Will be back!

🤵🏻♂️Staff were professional and polite. There was literally only one staff at start so he was juggling taking orders, welcoming customer and bring order to table so more. After 30min or more, another staff came in so basically 2 front of house staffs for such a busy place.

Hakata Gyoza Takinabe - Broth was sooo good plus the combination with Gyoza ummmmmm too good. It’s has very simple yet rich taste. We paired it with noodle but I think will taste good with bothe rice or noodle.
Teriyaki Chicken Don - it tasted good but could be better.
Waiting time to enter the restaurant was pretty quick, about 10mins. However, the food only arrived after 35mins due to a technical issue in the kitchen. The flavour of the soup was very tasty and not too salty. Service was good.

Though there’s a line, we got our seats in less than 15 minutes (probably because we come in two person).
Toro black: full-bodied soup! I’m worried about the pungent/gamy garlic aftertaste that I had in the past from other restaurants but this one was appetising and piquant. The noodles were cooked to the right hardness and really carries the flavour of the base.
The ingredients however, unfortunately, was not palatable to my liking.The braised pork was a bit too dry. The marinated boiled eggs was good! I love the kikurage (black fungus), gives a hint of crisp to the overall bowl.
