I wanted some quick dinner so I called into this pub. Thankfully it was quiet but the service was friendly and quick.
I ordered a cheeseburger which was absolutely delicious! It was surprisingly good for pub food and I don’t know who the chef was but OMGosh this was sooo good.
The burger had bacon, a great meat patty and the salad and sauce was perfect. Who’d have thought lol
The beers were cold and the punters happy. No surprises there either! What a find. This place is definitely worth a visit.

All the food is great here with the steaks and the quinoa salad both a standout. There is a ever changing range of craft beers. The wine list needs some work, it's pretty limited. Usually has live music on a Friday night.
The service was great, super friendly staff. The food was delicious and portions were huge! We thought the manager was particularly hospitable 👍
Staff were very friendly and attentive. We went on a Wednesday night, which was $20 steak night, I ordered the steak, this was cooked perfectly to what I had asked for, the chips was deliciously crunchy and the salad was crisp and fresh. Only thing it needed was a touch more mushroom sauce. My friends ordered the chicken Parma, they said it was amazing, the chicken was thick cut and very juicy with crisp panko breadcrumbs.
Prices were very good for the quality of the food and the serving size.
Highly recommend, I will be back again!
Friday night parmie - a huge, piping hot parmie emerged with very tasty cheese and sauce, great chips and a pretty good slaw to contrast it all out. Lots of great chilli sauces to add as well. Service was fine, although atmosphere was oddly subdued. Recommended
This pub is our local. Great atmosphere, the staff are always friendly and my husband says they have an excellent range of craft beers! We go mid week for the burgers and the buffalo wings are delish too.
Went on a Friday night after dinner. Good live music followed the footy. Excellent vibes and best Jasmine tea in whole Melbourne. If you are around north melbourne, come for a good time and singing good 00s songs
I like big ribs and I cannot lie there are a lot of good places out there doing ribs at the moment. Hats off to them. Three Crowns had great slow cooked ribs on their menu before most of those other places were even wearing nappies. That why whenever I come here I have ribs. My last visit the beef ribs with meat that just falls off the bone in a sticky sweet and smokey sauce and waffle chips with a somewhat token slaw. Kelisi says no to red meat so she chose classic pub fish and chips. She was all too willing to help herself to my waffle fries though despite her own sizeable collection of carbs. We sat in the front bar which was quite pleasant. Service was really friendly but ordered at the bar. Plenty of unique ales on tap as well.

I'd heard so much about the steak night here and it didn't disappoint. A nice enough pub serving up an American BBQ style menu; think smoked ribs, sticky ribs, blackened fish, cheeseburgers, mac and cheese, southern fried chicken- you get the drill. That's clearly where the slaw served with my steak was hailing from and I'm not generally a fan of any cabbage based side but the beer battered fries more than made up for it. I jumped onboard the American theme with the Tennessee BBQ sauce though which was rich and delicious. Steak was cooked perfectly rare as requested and great value for $18. I definitely recommend this place, they also have a burger night and a Parma night which could be worth checking out too
When you finish work and want to drop into a local easy feel pub for a beer and a meal. Thursday special is the American cheeseburger and a pot for $18. I ordered half a rack of pork ribs. The portion of pork ribs was quite small and a bit dry, but the waffle fries on the side was really yummy -- I would say it's the best fries i'Ve ever had. Also love the chilli sauce
I've been coming to this place for months, and so far I'm yet to taste anything bad here. Great food. Awesome staff. Nice atmosphere. Clean. Reasonably priced. I'd recommend this to anyone!
Great pub. Friendly service, good vibe and the food is top notch. Highlight has to be burger night where you can get a selection of some of the best burgers I've ever had.. with a pot for under 20 bucks. Delicious!! The parma's are great too!
I got the 3 crowns single and the mushroom burgers. Both where well cooked and put together...everything was fresh. The beef patties have a strong meaty flavour to them that I really enjoyed. The mushroom was very meaty as well but in a obviously a different way....very satisfying.
They're big burgers and I struggled to finish both so maybe think twice if you go for the double or even triple crown. You won't be leaving hungry.
Been coming back the last 2-3 years now. Great selection of beers. Extremely loved their collection of tobasco sauces and amazing beer battered chips.
The food here is yummy and doesn't break the bank. One of mine and the wifes favorite place when we are craving for some simple no frills pub steak.
Has plenty of parking options and its a great place to hang back and chill with friends. It's definitely a great haunt and looking to come back again soon.
If a good American style burger is what you are after, than make sure you come and visit! Had the flaming burger... Wow! What a well cooked juicy burger, full of spice and flavour... Generous side serve of fries and a drink... $15, on a Thursday night! What a bargain... Will be back!
This has become a Friday lunch time special place for the guys in the company. The burgers are delicious. The beer selection is to my liking. Pale ale craft on tap.

This Monday was the 4th of July, the Independance Day of the United States of America. It's one of the most important federal holidays in the country, commemorating the adaption of the Decolaration of Independance back in 1776. It was the day the American colonies were no longer just a part of the British Empire. It was the day the American colonies united. It was the birth of a nation. It was the birth of freedom.
And for us, it's parma night.
This week we mounted our horses and charged down to The Three Crowns hotel on a mission to liberate our stomachs from the cravings of the chicken parmigiana. Right from the start the vibes inside were awesome and the service was great.
Monday night is Three Crown's parma night so the parma and pot was only $15 which is a ripper deal. And it definitely showed when they were brought out as the birds round the table were quite smaller than we're used to and the chips and "apple slaw" were also small portions. We’re generally hesitant to rate parmas on days advertised as “parma nights” as we tend to find that both quality and quantity is sacrificed on those particular occasions.
In saying that, tonight the chicken was still thick, tasty and juicy with nice, crunchy crumbing that added a great texture. Napoli tasted amazing, but unfortunately it was lacking on most plates, and we do love plenty of that good stuff. The mozzarella was tasteless, not adding much to the meal at all and we barely even noticed the ham was there.
Chips we great, you just can't go wrong with your classic beer battered spuds. We really enjoyed the apple slaw as it was well dressed, crunchy and refreshingly different to the usual garden salads. It’s also worth mentioning that every table was supplied with a vast array of condiments which was very impressive and always welcome in our books.
All in all, this was quite a good value parma that does the job, but has plenty of room to improve. We will definitely be back to try the amazing range of American style dishes on offer, that’s for sure.

It's my second visit to this hotel. The food here is absolutely amazing. Their three crown burgers which comes with three patties is definitely satisfying. . The pork rib is very tender and juicy. The waffle chips that served with the pork ribs are slightly cold , nonetheless they ate still very crispy and flavoursome. Will definitely be back ..
Thursday night is their $15 burger night, which comes with a pot of your choice! The cheeseburger was delicious and service was great. Free games of pool too!
Best chicken wings and beer with wonderful service. Lots of sport available if that's you're bag. Give it a try if your in the north Melbourne area
I heard mixed thoughts before coming and wasn't expecting much. What I found was a bustling pub with $17 steak night on a thursday. The steak was cooked beautifully and came with absolutely delicious beer battered fries, but there was hardly any mushroom sauce. The pork belly burger didn't have much pork belly, but the pork belly was melt in your mouth delicious. Had a decent feed but the killer was the 40+ minute wait. We'll be back tho for another go

Known for its mainly American fare, family-run pub Three Crowns sits prominently on the corner of Victoria and King St. The modest but clean space features a separate dining room, a wine bar and a beer garden. Shawn Davies runs the kitchen, offers mostly American food like starts of southern fried chicken, Buffalo wings and chilli cheese fries. The mains menu includes a range of burgers, and more meaty things like parmas, ribs and steak.
Probably the least cool pub in North Melbourne (particularly when I'm there!).
But, the food and service was very good. I had a salad and was laughed at by my mates who all had burgers or similar. Everyone enjoyed their meals.
Good local pub, with a nice beer garden out the back. Food is great, a good sized parmie and the ribs are a personal favourite. One of the few places in the area with a pool table, which is perfect for a lazy afternoon of pool and beers.
Straight off the bat, I need to get it out there. There is so much to love about this burger. Last post, I accused myself of being overly negative. I was desperate to find a burger to love. Three Crowns has helped to satisfy my craving, and for that I am grateful. There are a few things they are doing differently here, without trying to reinvent the wheel (or burger as is the case here). This is coupled with some familiar touches that give you comfort; make you feel a contentment that reminds you of home.
Love coming here. Food is consistently awesome.... With a variety of American style foods to choose from, it always hits the spot. I can't seem to go past the cheeseburger, but will definitely try something else next time :)

A random night out, great service waiter was awesome and polite, food hit the spot, the steak and burger (I had the fish burger) were tasty meals simply put delicious :-)
Typical type bar except the menu was filled with heaps of awesome American dishes form buffalo wings to chicken bites.. I ended up with the burger and loved it. They even have criss cross fries.. Hells ye.
Very nice little restaurant! By looking at the place you would think it is just your average local pub but the surprise is the very modern menu with mouthwatering hamburgers which are very hard to beat. Be warned the hamburgers are very filling but well worth the money. The entrees that are on the menu ate amazing as well.
Steak sandwich is a winner !!! Every one should try this , might even be better than the cheeseburger :)

Comments: Looking through other people’s pictures online, we were deciding weather to go the triple, or stick to the double. Triple being $28, Double being $23. We both ended up choosing the double and I was glad we made that decision in the end. The patty’s in this burger are monsters and three would have been a real mission. Hands off to Jimmy for smashing such a big beast. The three crowns is a very meaty and very juicy burger, there was a big puddle of juice left on the board to dip the chips into afterwards. It was so meaty, that we needed a good 30 minutes of recovery time. To quote the funny man “Probably the best pub burger I've ever had. I had to shower after it!” Put this on your list for a burger to try when in West Melbourne.
We organised to meet up at the lovely little gastro/steak pub the Three Crowns Hotel. The buffalo wings on the menu were the deciding factor for me, oh, and of course the fact that there was an interesting burger available might have had something to do with the decision as well…

Best American Cheeseburger Duplication Thus Far.. Three Crowns first and foremost, your staff are lovely! Famished as we were, we resolved our keenness of their revamped menu thereby composing a tapas method of approach- but served altogether. As a first off, we perceived the savour of the Mac & cheese croquettes. Parallel-like to TGIF though not as cheesy, they were indeed delicious nonetheless. Dipping the squared bread-crumbed roll into their house-made ranch sauce was one of the most edibly rational decisions that I’ve ever made. Addiction is the understatement. Another wise decipherment were the buffalo wings with lashings of crucially mature bleu cheese, supplemented by celery sticks. This time exceedable to TGIF lol. Not so greasy as equated to the generic deep fried origin of this calibre. Now the highly acclaimed speciality burgers were another interest to extinguish. We elected the double beef patty, unsuspicious of the size density due to the portrayal entitlement: ‘Cheeseburger’ so we naively customized to a double patty. When the burger arrived, immediately we glanced at each other; repentant for our protein duplication. This was more of a multiplication density complex. We performed with greatest efforts to ingest at least 3 quarters of the calf resting between beautiful successions of fancy sauce, melted American cheese, pickles, an absolute abomination of concoctions and physical capacities cased inside (And slanting out of) a brioche bun which demonstrated meritoriously, its enriching purpose. So yum, so stuffed, we will duplicate this escapade anew- minus one patty.
Delicious food!. Just had a lovely meal here for dinner and it was amazing. We ordered the chilli cheese fries, angus rib eye and a double patty and cheese american cheeseburger. The prices are great. Portions are huge. I feel slightly bad for leaving so much food because we were unable to finish it. Not because it was bad but merely because we were so full. The waitress was very lovely and attentive as well. Overall a very pleasant place to have a meal that's worth your money. Definitely recommend!
Great American style pub meals. If you're looking for restaurant service or you're going on a first date, don't go here. But if you love succulent, flavoursome American BBQ food, definitely don't go past it. Can't forget about the amazing cheese fries and pork sliders and delicious ribs.
As for the burger, I wouldn't try it again. I've had a lot of great burgers and it's definitely good, but quite frankly not memorable in terms of the current burger trend.
Finally the staff are friendly, but not overly professional, but it's a pub so I wasn't surprised to have to order at the bar etc.
On a positive note, I would definitely go back again, there's still so much on the menu I want to try!

Rib eye rare was spot on and there is no doubt the chef has got good contacts for supply and knows what and how to cook to perfection.Succulent, tender, moist and tasty. Sensational value!

Went for a burger after being tipped off that they rivaled 8bit. Wasn't disappointed. This is a genuinely top shelf burg, that holds its own in the current burger craze sweeping Melbourne.
Will definitely return, and hopefully try out the cheese fries.
Really great food, 5 of us ate different menu items & everything was scrumptious. Staff were very helpful too. We wanted to watch the Footy & grab some food. They organised a TV for us so as the live music came on, we could watch in the restaurant area.

Great Dinner. We visited on a quiet Tuesday night, I hadn't eaten there before but had heard good things about a new menu and kitchen. The burger was bang on, really tasty and great ingredients. My partner said the schnitzel was great too. Tried some mac and cheese croquettes which were also good. We will be back.
Friday Night Fun. Friday nights are awesome with $10 cocktails all night ! Went with a few friends and the cocktails were awesome and so was the live music. Had the calamari entree followed by the beef cheeks and both were delicious ! Will definitely be going back !
My boyfriend and I had the $15 steak special. Would have happily paid double that! Cooked perfectly, great atmosphere and great service. Will definitely be back here.
MOUTH WATERING FOOD. I had a birthday party for my son and 14 friends at the Three Crowns Hotel last week and we had a wonderful night. The food was fantastic. There were lots of compliments for the buffalo wings and mac and cheese entrees but the biggest raves were split between the Cheeseburger and Smoked ribs main courses. The service was friendly and prompt and topped off a great night in a very well set up small function room.

Pleasantly surprised. Went with a friend for a quick drink and light meal earlier this evening. The atmosphere was laid-back, with soft music and lighting, while the friendly staff patrolling the bar took no time to look after our order. A good mix of tap beers and a cider, and an interesting food menu were causes for optimism from the outset. We ordered between us the 'bruschetta with balsamic reduction' and the 'pulled pork sliders with house made Carolina BBQ sauce & apple slaw'. The former was full of fresh ingredients and the balsamic worked a treat, the latter was a taste sensation; the lovely bartender just nodded her head knowingly when her query about our thoughts on the meal quality were greeted simply with 'it's good'.
Typical of alot of places around Melbourne, the venue doesn't look like much from the outside, but its well worth a visit based on this evening's experience. I won't require much persuasion to go there again.
Awesome new menu!!. Have been to Three Crowns quite a few times for dinner and drinks and was surprised to see they have got an entirely new menu which is amazing!! I think they have a new chef and the food was unbelievable!! do yourself a favour and check it out- the live tunes were awesome as well! great job guys will be back asap!
Great find in North Melb!! Good mix of old school charm with a modern clean approach.. Staff were extremely friendly and ended up having a great chat with us.. Steaks were spot on, good range of beers and cider (tap and bottle) and a extensive cocktail list to boot!! Live music was some of the best iv heard around town for some time.. Very happy customer and will now be a frequent one for some time to come..
Their Wednesday $15 steak nights are really good value.
A great pub for Errol St and it is always on the list for the crawl home from the city. Good Parmas too.
Good Pub food. They used to have a 450g Prime Rib, but it is no longer offered on their menu. Pity. Had the 350g Scotch fillet steak instead. It was cooked perfectly and good value for the price. This place has good pub food with quick, friendly and laid back service.
Pub Steak. This is a belated entry..... I initially went to the Three Crowns a couple of years ago as it was close to work. I have eaten lunch there alone and with colleagues during the week. There is usually a steady flow of mixed customers. The steaks are good value for money. I stopped in on Boxing Day with my wife as respite from the sales. Again, Porthouses were great and cheaper because it was Wednesday. It was very quiet and got to chat to the dad of the young bloke, Jack, who runs the pub. I have always found Jack and his team very amicable.
Good pub grub. Veal and chicken Parma good quality and value. Restaurant area nothing flash. Service good. Friday night music supposed to start at 9.00pm-no sign of muso at 9.20pm. Good value with Entertainment book voucher but nothing special that would bring a non-local back.
Good suburban pub. Lazy Friday night, Parma and house wine, $15? Yes please! Parma was yum, good quality cheese. Excellent service and decent wine prices. If you live nearby make it your local you won't be disappointed.
Good steak. Cute little local pub. Had the steak here which was quite nice. The portions aren't huge though. They have specials on Wednesdays, buy one meal and get the second one at half price
Cool pub!. The boys that took over this place about 1.5 yrs ago have really done well. The decor is unique but in a good way, friendly staff, great food (especially the steaks!!), great guitarist on Fridays and loads of beers/ciders to choose from. It's my local pub and I love it!
