Came here for Korean bbq with a latge group of friends before the lockdown. The food was fresh and delicious and the staff were attentive and friendly. We had a lot of fun and ate so much.
A popular kbbq joint with such friendly and attentive service. Ordered the marinated bbq option (set B) which came with beef, chicken and pork and has an addition of you choosing which pancake and soup you wanted - I went and chose the seafood pancake and kimchi soup + ordered the original and sweet chilli fried chicken.
The seafood pancake was amazing !!! 🤩 Tasted so fresh and delicious, I would just come back to Hallah for this. What we ordered was definitely enough to feed 3-4 people so servings and the sides come generously. The fried chicken was alright, not the best and the sweet chilli tasted better than the original . The spicy sauce that you can order was nice and recommended by the waiter.
Overall: Menu is extensive, meat was juicy and staff were lovely. Would definitely come back here again.

This was my first Korean bbq experience and it was beyond amazing! I will definitely be returning again :)
This place was such a great find. The staff are just so lovely and attentive. The menu is quite amazing and we were lazy and went for the set seafood menu. There was a huge amount of food. The kimchi pancake and beef noodles were amazing. The bbq beef and scallops were fantastic. A really nice meal and a great new experience. Can’t wait to do this style of dining again.
I visited this place more than five times so far. If you want decent Korean BBQ, this place is it. I've tried many korean bbq places but Hallah is the best. The price is reasonable and all dishes were really good. Only one thing I wish them to change is fans upstairs. But it doesn't bother me because of good quality of food. The staff was very kind and friendly too. I strongly recommend Hallah.
Amazing staff - very attentive and friendly.
Food is great! They have Korean BBQ option and just normal Korean cuisine as well. I highly recommend the Corn Cheese, Seafood Pancake, Albab (Fish Eggs on Rice) and Jabchae
There's also daily specials so be sure to check those out on the front of the menu
they open late-ish so it's a great place to had over for some grub after you had drinks on a Friday night - plus their Soju collection is amazing and delicious
If you can, make sure you book before you go...it's a popular and busy place :)
Been here twice and never disappoints me. Will always come back for another time.
Had snack food one late night and a Korean BBQ the other.
Definitely recommend people to come and try.
I’ve been to Hallah many times now, and I have to say I am yet to have a bad experience; or even an average one. The food is consistently excellent, staff always friendly and attentive, and the restaurant has always been clean and welcoming. I’ll continue coming back for the fried chicken and spicy pork belly in the future, that’s for sure. Keep up the great work guys.
This restaurant is open till late which is a bonus. For a party of 2 we opted for the bbq set B which turned out to be an extremely good value for money. Needless to say we couldn’t finish our meal and had to doggy bag. The seafood pancake was delicious.
Great experience and delicious food. Friendly quick service. Bookings suggested as it gets busy. Will definitely be coming back here. Thanks Hallah.

A hidden gem. Great hospitality intimate atmosphere felt like we transported to another city. Good quality food and plentiful with great flavours.
We were impressed with Hallah of their attentive and friendly service, their delicious food and great ambiance.
I can’t express how much I enjoyed their soft tofu with seafood. Had my first spoonful and I couldn’t stop myself from continuously having more. The japchae was soft, a bit chewy, flavourful and the beef was tender.
We loved the attentive service as they regularly topped up our sides without us asking. Overall really good experience and would recommend this Korean restaurant.
The service here was great. We had the Korean fried chicken, tofu soup with seafood, seafood pancake and dragon cheese chicken. Everything was perfect. The original fried chicken was amazing. Overall, a great experience!
It is located conveniently, just opposite QVM. Love the service as the waitress was very attentive. We ordered seafood pancake, soft tofu soup, dragon chicken and spicy chicken. Both dragon chicken and spicy fried chicken were spicy, and although the waitress warned us about how spicy they would be, we still went ahead with it. The spicy fried chicken was actually quite nice, and u get a tingling sensation on your tongue. Some people won’t like that but we enjoyed it. The seafood pancake was delicious as it was crispy on the outside and soft inside. Overall, it was a great dining experience!
My second time here at Hallah. First time I was here was to try their famous for their fried chicken. Second time around I also tried the Korean bbq while catching up with friends. Fried chicken is still delicious. Only wish that I could have 2 half flavoured instead of half original and half flavoured. For the bbq, they use charcoal on top of a gas flame. I’m guessing this is to keep the fire consistent but lacks the beautiful charcoal aroma.
We had pork bulgogi and marinated beef thick skirt. Both were fresh and delicious. Eat it the only way it should, wrapped in lettuce with green chilies sauces and kimchi. Yum!!!
Love this place. I have ad Korean bbq before but this was quite a different experience. I found new way of enjoying the food. I just lost the photos though so sorry for not sharing. But this I give good review for - service, food and location. Must try if you have not been here.
This is a good Korean Restaurant! Is a little expensive! But for share is a perfect place! They have good variety, the food is very tasty , the atmosphere is good and the staff is very friendly!
Love the ambience and the food. The meat was juicy and perfectly marinated. Ordered 3 bbq dishes and enough to make us full. Worth the price.

Friendly, highly professional and modern customer service - with ear pieces for every staff member to organise available tables for walk-in customers)
The food is as good as expected for a Korean restaurant!
Seafood pancake was the crispiest I’ve had! I did taste a bit more batter than seafood/spring onion/etc so I wish the ratio was a bit more skewed towards the other ingredients than the batter. But that’s just an opinion and I am no chef!
The bibimbap stonebowl was tasty! Fresh veggies; again, wish there was a little bit more beef though.
The honey garlic fried chicken was outstanding. Highly crispy skin, very juicy and tender chicken. The sauce was a great balance between the honey and garlic flavours.
The restaurant does get a bit smokey if every table having K-BBQ. But that’s also just part of the experience when going to a popular Korean restaurant!
Went for set F on the BBQ menu and ordered an extra serve of fried chicken. This was enough to get the 4 of us full. The meat was marinated well and the seafood hotpot soup was refreshing to finish it off. The fried chicken was decent, you really need the sauce to get any flavour from it. The staff there were quick and attentive, always checking if we wanted more refills on our side dishes. The ice cream you get at the end of the set was bomb, very good way to end the meal. Everything was decently priced.
Been to this restaurant a few times, never let me down. Beautiful food, ingredients are always fresh and good quality. Problem is the ventilation, is not so good for a korean bbq place, especially if you are on the top floor.
My favourite Korean restaurant by far I've tired all KBQQ in Melbourne and this is always my "go to " BEST SERVICE ! things to order kimichi pancake ,wagu scotch filiet, corn cheese.
The last time I had Korean barbecue was in koreatown Los Angeles, and this place was better. All the meats were perfect and tasted amazing. The servers were extremely attentive and seem to try and do a lot of the grilling (coal grills) for you, normally I’m used to doing most of it myself. The kimchi pancake was a bit oily... and I have a high grease tolerance. Free supplies of kimchi and condiments. Would definitely come back here.
Wow - great value and amazing food. We had a stand out night here. We ordered the "C" set and the staff very helpful, showing us how to use the charcoal grill and topping up the sides. Meat was so tender.
One thing that really differentiates this place other restaurants is their excellent customer service.
We arrived at the place Friday night, the place was packed and we have to wait for a couple of minutes. They managed to find a place for the 8 of us.
The staff will assist you in cooking and cutting the Bbq meat
We ordered the sweet chilli fried chicken and it was a bit too spicy for us. It turned out that they gave us the spicy one instance of the sweet chilli. They brought back the spicy one and made the sweet chilli one for us. One of the staff approached us and told us sincerely that it was his mistake and he was really sorry to make us wait.

- Chilli Pork Belly: melts in your mouth!
- Scotch Fillet
- Extraordinary customer service

- The place is small and a bit cramped
The rest of the dish is okay. We had an amazing experience here. Will definitely be back :)
Great place. Service was excellent. Generous portions. As always the food could not fit the table. We had the Set B with seafood pancake and kimchi soup with a serve of popcorn chicken. Food was delicious. Defintely come back
Excellent customer service. They constantly asked to refill the side dishes without us asking. The rump steak we ordered for the BBQ was very tender. The air conditioning inside was fantastic, given that it was 40 degrees outside!
This has to be the best Korean place I've been to. Really great thing is that it is open fairly late. Great place to catch up after and event or gig. Make sure you don't order too much chicken (although it still tastes very good the next day), but it's hard not to over-order when food's this good.
The is the best out of all Korean BBQ, they use coal not electric down stairs and we have eaten here 5 times now and it’s always been fantastic. Great food great staff.
Order bibim-naengmyeon ( a person each) and tteokbokki (3 person ).
I found that the bibim-naengmyeon is not spicy at all~ the soup is a bit salty if you didn’t mix it with the noodle, the portion is quite big i guess.. (medium (?)) and pretty filling. Overall i really enjoy the dish!
2018.
Love the pancake! Thin, crispy and tasty.
4 of us had bbq set i guess and spend around $20 ish per/person! A bit pricey yet good
Friendly staff and great food, reasonable price.I strongly recommend this place.Lots of korean B.B.Q place has lack of flavour but this one was not one of them.
Came here a few times already. Food is average, not the best Korean BBQ but not a bad place either.
Staff is really friendly here and do cooking for you. Upstair can be stuffy when it's busy.
But the good things here is you can enjoy and relaxed with friends and they don't rush you to go.The price is ok, but the seafood pancake is very floury and can't taste the seafood. And the soups and size of the food was more generous the first few times we went there and then it's getting smaller and the soup didn't have much ingredient like meat, tofu etc. like they cutting back.
Lots of Korean BBQ restaurant around, but this place still a nice place to go. Because I try so many that why I'm not rush to go back here. 😀
Came here because of the large variety on the menu and also because it is a halal friendly. All of my friends were craving different dishes and this place had everything. The food is pretty decent, and the service was efficient. My favourite dishes were the fried chicken and spicy rice cake. The fried chicken was crispy and was not drenched in oil. Would love to come back.
Delicious Korean cuisine amongst a Street full of Korean restaurants.
The soups (kimchi soup and seafood soup) were perfect for a cold Winter night. The kimchi pancakes are always a crowd favourite. We also had some roasted corn tea which was so aromatic and lovely.
The staff were friendly and amazing. We were even given some lollipops after the payment.
Super friendly service. Comfy seating. Delicious food. Had a great experience at Hallah. Spicy chicken thighs were amazing. And big, yummy glasses of lemon squash! Will definitely be back.
I really enjoyed the beef set here with the seafood pancake. The beef quality is extremely good and tender. You can taste the seasoning however, I do wish the kimchi soup was not so salty and came with rice like it does at other Korean BBQs.
After wandering around the winter night market with delicious smells in the air, my immediate thought was.. lets get korean bbq! Off we went to Hallah just metres away. We ordered the combination set for 2 which was perfect! The meats were amazing.. cooked over coals giving it that charred smokiness. Service was good and the ambience was cosy. Would happily return
Delicious!! Food is great with quality meats and vegetables are always fresh!! We have enjoyed each visit! Always book or come early as it fills up fast!
I visited this place almost 2 years ago with family and I have the lingering memories of Hallah. It was my very first experience at a KBBQ restaurant and the experience didn't quite meet my expectations. I was overwhelmed by the concept of food being cooked in front of you. They had a good selection of Korean style food but the menu to my opinion was small. The choice for BBQ was limited but they have have other various traditional and modern dishes to choose from. The quality of food was good. Tried Spicy chicken thigh, Beef short rib fillets, Spicy pork belly and kimchi pancake. The Lychee drink was soothing. The highlight for me was the mac and cheese they served as sides. Loved it.
The location is spot on. The place was pretty compact. It was more of a cramped dinning experience.
The staff didn't manage the tables very well. We had to point them in our direction to check on the meat. I wasn't sure if we're meant to cook our own food or they do it for us. Most of my meat got burnt and I got the real authentic taste of charcoal.
The bill came up to $100 which was alright for 4 people sharing 3 mains. I wouldn't say we walked out tummy full and satisfied but was worth a first try.
This place has to be one of the better korean BBQ places I have been to for the price I pay. The staff were nice, quick and tidy. Also the food pretty much came out straight away considering it was a busy night. Over all a beautiful place to go out for dinner. Will not disappoint.
Service was great and food was excellent. We ordered set F, fried chicken and soju. Enjoyed everything but the fried chicken and the grilled spicy chicken were the unanimous favorite. The soju was light and sweet. Monday is unlimited sake night. We had some and liked it better than the soju. We will definitely be back soon.
Came for a last minute dinner on a Saturday night. Had to wait to get a table but it was worth it. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Food was very tasty and the red bean ice cream was soooo yummy!!
We ordered the D set and everything was great.
The BBQ was really nice. My friend and I went for one of the sets and a bottle of sake and that was only $32-ish/pp so it's not pricey at all, compared to other Korean BBQ restaurant. Having said that, I wasn't really hungry that night so I didn't go all out though LOL. The one thing that I didn't really like was the bean paste soup that comes with the set, I'll order a different one next time for sure. I love that you can book a table because Korean BBQ is so popular that pretty much every Korean BBQ restaurant is packed. Service was really good, very attentive and nice staff. Massive thumb up there. Will definitely come back.
The food here is nothing but amazing. I always go for Set B and there is never a flaw. The food is basically orgasmic and I won't go to any other Korean BBQ places. The staff are all lovely and friendly. Also the kimchi pancake is to die for.
Incredible quality food! Always come here as a group of 3 and get Set B for 2; fills us up so much!!
Great ambience, in a convenient location.
Would recommend to any KBBQ fan :))
hallah has consistently delivered on excellent food quality and service. i simply adore this place, this is my new go to spot for korean bbq. The staff must be commended on their excellent customer service. always polite and attentive.
Came here for dinner and ordered the B set with extra soybean pork belly. Food was well marinated and tasted great! Ordered extra Soybean pork belly and corn cheese both tasted absolutely amazing! Very friendly and quick service. Above average compared to other places and would recommend!
We had the beef barbecue set - beef and kimchi pancake were average but the soy bean paste soup was splendid. The friendly waiter had done a great job in serving all customers on his own during lunchtime.
Came here a few times before and the one dish that certainly impressed me the most is their pork belly. It is really fresh and has a different texture than other bbq joints. I usually get their 3 pork belly set, my least favourite in it being the chilli flavoured one but the other two are fantastic. The set also comes with garlic which is grilled on the bbq and veggies to wrap the meat in. Ox tongue is also offered on the menu and tastes like any other ox tongue bbq offered elsewhere. The fried chicken gives you a bang for your buck as the portion is huge but the dish itself is not the best. The kimchi soup was average and I felt that it did not have enough flavour, a little bland. All in all, I usually get massive cravings for the pork belly here and it is a must order.
Had their Hallah Special Pork Belly Set and Seafood Pancake. The Hallah Special Pork Belly Set consists of 3 different pork bellies (chilli, soy and soybean) and wrapping set. The pork bellies were great as it was neither too thick nor too chewy. It was tender and all the 3 different flavours were equally delicious! Last but not least, the Seafood Pancake was also decent and satisfying. Overall, it was a great place for KBBQ as the pork bellies were really commendable!
This place was okay, I can't fault the meat here too much as it has good flavour. The serving size is average but it is really annoying that rice is not included in their combo sets and is something you have to purchase separately. Kim chi and wrapping sets will cost an extra $2 which is unacceptable (especially for Kim chi which always comes free at other places). Hallah needs to update its menu if it wants to rival with other kbbq restaurants like Palsaik or ChangGo.
This place is hands down my favour KBBQ place. It is my go-to place and never fails on me.
Everything from price, service to food is perfect.
Would highly recommend this place!
Had the C Set (Beef BBQ Set for 2) which was plenty of food for two big eaters, though we added on a Popcorn Chicken to the meal (which was definitely overkill). The C Set was really good, with very tender and tasty beef, which was attentively cooked on the grill for us by the staff. Although we couldn't finish it, since the Popcorn Chicken was a lot bigger than we thought it would be, we still took it back home since it was so good.
We ate quite early at around 5, but the atmosphere was very friendly and warm, with tables which were private enough to easily have conversations. The staff were amazing with cooking and cutting the beef for us, and they even put it onto a plate when we couldn't catch up with the food and the beef was in risk of getting burnt (without us asking!). After we finished eating, they were also very helpful with giving us containers to bring the leftovers home, and also gave us extra dipping sauce and kimchi since they saw how much we enjoyed it. The little Korean sweets they gave us at the end were really nice as well - minty and milky!
I have been a long customer of this place and used to come here with my Korean Friend. Went there again last night and tried pork belly and beef bbq with soju and rice cake . It was great as usual with good service. Will come again .
Late Night BBQ ?
Want to have heavy late night dinner ?? No worries ! Every Friday, me and my friends will have a late dinner (10 pm +). And it is always difficult to find a late night dinner which has a big place to eat. Accidentally we found this place ! So we go and try it out !
This place has a limited table. However, it is a good place if you have a group of people. On that day, I went here in a group of 9. When we sit, I found that there is a staircase to 2nd level. But I'm not sure whether they have 2nd floor available in the afternoon.
Since its late night Friday, I think they were short on staff. There are only 2 people who serve the whole place. But, the service is still good. They still help us bbq our meat.
We split the food ordering into 5 people and 4 people (so that its easier to share the food).
We (the 5 people) ordered set C (seafood pancake, pork kimchi soup) and ox tongue.
Overall, everything was good. The highlight of it was the beef rib ! Its the best bbq meat from the other 3. The scotch fillet was tender. The beef short rib fillet was a bit chewy which makes it a little bit difficult to eat. The ox tongue was cut quite thin but still taste good.
I consider the pricing was not that expensive for a nice bbq meal.👍
Hope you enjoy the bbq here ! Cheers 😊🎉
Came here for the BBQ and wasn't disappointed at all. Top quality meat and excellent service. I can't comment on the other dishes but I would highly recommend the BBQ.
One of the best kbbq in Melbourne, their sets will fill you up for sure, 3set of meats with pancakes and a stew/salad. The meats are very flavorsome and is not sickening, customer service is a plus.
We got seated upstairs which had gas grills as opposed to the charcoal ones downstairs, which was a little disappointing. In saying that, the quality of the meat was great! However, the pork belly was very different to what we usually get from other kbbq places. The soup serving was very generous and the pancake was nice and crispy!
It was my first visit to Hallah and I loved the Wagyu beef BBQ! The meat is so tender and fresh! Friendly staff and I love how they've decorated the interior! Wagyu beef bbq highly recommended!
Awesome food and awesome service. Would recommend to my friends. The restaurant manager was great as well. Went their last weekend had a really good experience.
After a desperate search for somewhere open after getting off a country train, we found Hallah's open and welcoming - now we quite like this place - the service is very friendly, loads of variety, tasty dishes, including vegetarian. Keen to try again soon!
Always great to come back to Halla. Great service and a fun menu. Snails .. And dragon chicken! Their mayo topped massive egg roll is a delight.
This little Korean BBQ eatery exceeded our expectations in terms of service , quality of food and value for money. We were warmly welcomed and explained how the menus worked.
We opted for the $36 banquet (each ) which came with 3 types of marinated meat ( beef rib, pork and chicken ) rice, a big bowl of Kim chi soup , pickles and crispy seafood pancake. The meat and mushrooms were cooked perfectly on the charcoal grill built into our table by the waitresses and all the dishes were ample for 2 people.
The winners were the beef rib and grilled pork and Kim chi soup. We also ordered their incredibly tender and crunchy popcorn chicken ( a bargain at $11) for a large plate size dish. Good value for money with attentive and efficient service will see me returning for more Korean fare.
Nice bbq!. I like their bbq! Although we had to wait quite a long while before we even got served any side dishes. Their kimchi is super nice though
This stuff is just mind blowing orgasmically genuinely finger licking good . We ordered a full plate but had half original sauce (slightly tangy and spicy red sauce) and a sweet garlic sauce. It did come with a side dish of pickled radish but I just forgo that and dove right in sans cutlery and
Victoria Street is a hidden Korean food haven, there are like 5 or 6 Korean restaurants side by side. T and I were thinking which one to try and decided to walk in the first one at the start of the street. They turned us away saying that they were full, the next one also rejected us. Finally, we walked into Hallah, a modern Korean restaurant with an upper level for BBQ. It has a chic and modern layout, just like those restaurants featured in Korean dramas. Apparently their signature dish is the fried chicken but looking at the tables around us having them, the portion was huge and the amount of oil, grease and "fried-ne
The place is in good location with a queue outside kinda vibe. We waited for our table for almost half an hour; partly because it was a busy night and we’re rather a large group and seatings weren’t all available at the same time. Nevertheless, the staff tried their best to accommodate us all. The food were amazing and compliments each other. We ordered quite a few halal sets on the menu. Overall, an enjoyable experience. Highly recommend for a halal Korean food.
Absolutely love this place! Staff are always lovely and the food is delicious. What’s best is that they serve halal meats. This restaurant has become one of our regular spots
Love the food and environment. The staff are friendly. But if you are going to bbq then watch a few videos online as you gotta do it yourself.
Stumbled across this place one night and decided to try it out. It was busy on a Friday night and there was a long wait since we didn’t make a booking. Nonetheless, it was definitely worth it!
We got the Set B which was plenty of food for 2 people. It comes with your choice of 2 dishes - we got the seafood pancake and the kimchi soup, both of which were delicious. The set comes with 3 types of meat - bulgogi beef, pork, and chicken. All three were delicious, and the Bulgogi marinade was really good!
Definitely recommend!
Conveniently located Korean BBQ with plenty of Halal options (listed against each menu item). Recommend getting a set menu to have some variety, otherwise ordering individually has much smaller servings. If booking a table, try to get a space upstairs for a nicer ambience. It can get very busy though!!
