Review Le Charme De Saigon - Melbourne

Tried this place as it appeared in Tiktok. The interior was pretty unique and cool. We ordered the braised pork ribs with vegetables on rice, omelette with bbq pork, on rice, and crispy fried chicken. They certainly didn't disappoint! The portion was pretty decent and quite filling. Overall, the foods were pretty good and I would try different dishes next time.

Food is amazing, service is average (but that's how you know it is an authentic HK spot!) Definitely recommend booking in advance, it's always packed. Would definitely also visit again to try other stuff on the menu.

The porridge is really really good, the taste is not bad but everything is so so salted. I was wondering that why you need to put a lot of salt into the meal, also plus MSG. Won’t go back. Totally Not healthy.
Anisa Anwar
Loved the pineapple bun! Really crispy, soft, buttery, and not too sweet. The HK milk tea was also really good, the taste of tea is especially strong with HK milk tea. The cheese bake pork chop rice was alright, portion was generous. Quick service and reasonable prices.

A must try!! This is a lovely little place with amazing food. Every dish we ordered was fantastic, the children just loved the fried rice and the dumplings. I should also applaud the service. It was way above our expectations, the staff were very polite and helpful.

The lunch special 12.99 includes hk milk tea and many other options to choose from:) surpringly delicious and fresh food. Just wish they had more lunch special options instead of having two. Will definitely return !!

it’s an amazing place for dinner, so delicious and tasty, the milk tea was so rich and full of tea flavour. the pork-chop rice so good, taste perfectly cheesy. the fried rice is definitely something you should have try, will be back for other dishes.

We tried their highly-recommended $30 pp Feed ME Menu that comes with 4 entrees, 1 main, and 1 dessert: Veggie San Choy Bao (mock meat), Handmade Prawn/Chicken Dumplings, BBQ Beef/Chicken skewers w/ Satay Sauce, HK Style Typhoon Soft Shell Crab, Saigon Curry Beef Brisket w/ Roti, Banana Fritters & Ice Cream (+ Vietnamese Coffee!) Although I enjoyed them all, my favourites were 'HK Style Typhoon Soft Shell Crab' and 'Saigon Curry Beef Brisket'. Soft Shell crab was crunchy and seasoned to perfection with a good balance of chili. Beef brisket literally melts in your mouth and curry was deliciously creamy and savoury. Also, I never knew San Choy Baos were made with mock meat until waiter told me after. It was THAT good! I was completely full after.

Overall, I loved everything about Le Charme - undoubtably great value for money! If they keep this up, it's going to be a matter of time for it to be one of the finest/most popular restaurants in the city in the near future.

The food was amazing. The taste, the presentation and the portion were just right. The restaurant was very busy but they still served quickily. It is worth waiting anyway. I love the mocktails and cocktails too. Highly recommended.

Pho good but not the best

Some of the tastiest food I have ever had! The cocktails are also delicious. The staff are always so friendly and accommodating. The prices are very reasonable. I will keep coming back to Le Charme. Best value for money!

Absolutely incredible food, good portion sizes, value for money and a very cute restaurant!

My friends and I had an amazing time at Le Charme!!

Ordered: Feed me menu (pescatarian edit) ($37.00)
🦐 Wasabi prawn
🦀 Typhoon soft shell crab
🐓 Veggie Chicken san soy bao (v)
🥟 Vegetarian dumplings (v)
🐓 Stir fried vegetarian chicken (v)
🍌 Banana fritter: crispy banana served with ice cream ($9.90)

Review:
When every first bite comes out with a MMmMmMMMM~ from your friends, you know you're on to a winner. We came for a early dinner, and Le Charme were so kind in letting us amend HALF the feed me menu to make it pescatarian... so we could have a great time.

There were 3 highlights to our meal.
The wasabi prawn was a delicious, juicy combo. It had a smooth "hot" taste from the wasabi, that was so clean that we were sucked in. I definitely recommend this!

Vegetarian dumplings was also a hit for me. The filling was bursting at the seams, and we all enjoyed it. Also highly, rate it as well.

This banana fritter was encore to our altered feed me menu. Crispy (cornflake?!) coated banana in a decadent cold ice cream with little cute garnishes. Really memorable, along with every single dish in the menu.
The feed me price ($37.00) included 4 starters, 1 main and 1 dessert. So affordable!!

Service was amazing and so friendly. They were smiley through face masks and were able to amend our order for the feed me menu. Patient and generous, I can't wait till I go back to Le Charme.

4 stars because they closed at 9:30pm on a Saturday and were really pushy to get everyone out. Positives though were that the cocktails were 2 for 1 and the food was incredible! Recommend the duck pancakes, sweet and sour pork and the black pepper beef.

We were not told that there was a time limit and we were told we could not order desert and had to leave.

Food exceeds expectation!

It was such a great meal, the service was great! We got the Feed-me menu. The beef curry with Roti was really creamy, got a nice fragrant and very delicious. I was quite surprised that the Panna cotta has popping candy next to it! The Panna cotta was rich and creamy, 5 stars, recommend it.

Everything here was so delicious and I love their themed restaurant! The ambience was great too!

Le Charme served Asian fusion cuisine with a focus on Vietnamese and Malaysian. The ambiance of the restaurant was really cosy and chill with its modern décor and beautiful lighting. We ordered their curry beef brisket and fried noodle for dinner. Both were delicious and flavourful; loved the thin crispy roti the beef brisket came with and the complimentary prawn crackers. Service was friendly (especially compared to other eateries in Chinatown!). Definitely recommended.

We ordered three dishes.A dumpling soup to start with,Chicken San choy bao, typhoon soft shell crab and a fried rice to wrap up the dinner with.Cost for all that combined was 50$.Every single dish was spoke for itself. The table had a special Aunt Li's dumpling sauce which was again a unique thing about this place..Also we went there with a 4 month old baby and they were extremely helpful with seating and warming the baby milk in their in house microwave. Can safely say the service is very warm..Overall the place justifies it's zomato rating entirely ❤️❤️❤️

Leaning towards 4.5.

A nice mid-range restaurant with updated decor, and a menu that has a good mix but not too extensive to be overwhelming.

Egg tofu with mushrooms, $19.80, was excellent. Would def reorder.

Singapore noodles, $16.80, had good amount of seafood but curry flavour could have been stronger.
Sarah Quek
I would have given them 5 stars if not for the customer service. They were very short staffed so I’m not sure if that’s the usual for a busy day. Regardless though I would return as The food is GREAT! Ordered the Saigon curry, pork dumplings, clams and fish- each dish had unique flavors that truly represented Thai, Vietnamese, chinese culture. I loved the Asam flavor! Everyone should check this restaurant out

Pros: the Feed Me option at this place is very good value for money. Went with a group of 9 girls and the portions were generous and we all got a food coma. And only $30 excluding drinks! The Nutella Martini is worth a try, delicious!

Cons: the wasabi mayo prawns were a bit too sweet. The asian seafood paella did not have enough seafood in it to share.

3.5

We had an amazing experience at Le Charme recently. My friend and I, after some consideration, decided to opt for the Feed Me option ($30 pp) since we were torn between so many of the dishes on their extensive menu.
The chicken and prawn dumplings arrived first and made a nice start to the meal. They had a nice bounce to them and there were visible prawns when you bit inside.

Shortly after, San Choy Bao, Wasabi prawn and Soft shell crab all joined the table. All were delicious to eat, but I personally enjoyed the soft shell crab the most, which had a nice and crabby taste and was very addicting to eat. Wasabi prawn was another highlight, as the green colour was very pretty and the wasabi sauce had a more creamy and slightly sweet taste to it. San Choy Bao was well constructed but didn’t stand out to me as much.
The main dish was the Saigon beef curry with roti. This came out whilst we were still making our way through the entrées listed above, so by the time we got to the beef curry it wasn’t as hot. Hopefully next time we’d start eating it immediately when it arrives. The beef was tender and delicious to eat, and the curry paired well with the roti.
To finish it off, we had Pandan panna cotta, which was an absolute delight! It wasn’t too sweet, and the slight pandan flavour was there. There was also popping candy on the side of the plate, which we had a lot of fun eating. It was a wonderful way of finishing off the meal.
The service at Le Charme is phenomenal. The staff kept refilling our glasses with water whenever it was empty, and were all friendly and more than happy to help. The decor inside is also very impressive and gives off a fine dining vibe (even though the dishes are on the affordable side). I would definitely be interested in trying out other dishes when I return!

The food was just okay. A group of 5 with 3 kids and we ordered the feed me and a few extra entrees and only one dish was served an hour in. The spring rolls were soggy but had potential, the dumplings had really thick skin but had a good flavour, the crab was tasty, the san Choi bau was way too sweet with fried chicken in, bao was tasty and the beef curry was full of flavour.

This is one of the best Asian restuarant in town. Exteremely easy on pocket. I keep coming back to this restuarant...

Service was friendly at the start but had to wait over 30 minutes between starters and mains which, when brought to their attention, was compensated for with desserts on the house (a nice gesture). However, when we were half way through enjoying our dessert, the bill was brought to our table along with an abrupt request for us to pay straight away as '12 people were waiting at the door'. This is unacceptable by any restaurant standard as seated customers have the right to enjoy their meal without being rushed to pay. The man at the cashier was nice and took a further 10% off the bill for our 30min wait. The male table waitstaff who nudged us to leave needs to learn some basic manners. We dined on Tuesday 24th Dec.

My friend and I decided to try the Signature Feed Me Menu. It was excellent value for money at $30 per person for 5 quality/tasty/delicious dishes. Great, friendly service too! We will definitely be returning to this little gem of the place.

Loved everything about this restaurant. Food was amazing, we will be back !!!!

This restaurant provides excellent food, and is very reasonably priced. I ordered the Vietnamese chargrilled pork prawn spring roll with rice and a Vietnamese ice coffee. Incredibly tasty, the spring rolls were perfectly cooked, crunchy on the outside, and bursting with flavour. The pork had the right amount of sauce, and the rice was just full of flavour. Absolutely delicious, and will come back again.

Le Charme is an elegant, Pan-Asian restaurant in the heart of Chinatown that has an incredible $30 “Feed Me” menu that seriously makes you feel like you get your money’s worth of quality, fusion food – 4 entrees, 1 main and 1 dessert… what a great deal for a Melbourne city restaurant! With a uniquely styled interior, featuring lotus-like chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, Le Charme pulls off the casual restaurant vibes with a touch of class.

Love this place! Have got the Feed Me option each time, the portions are great and the food is really lovely especially the wasabi prawns and dumplings. Staff are great too, very friendly and attentive! Will definitely be back!

Good place to eat a lot and in good price. On peak hours better book if you don't wanna share table
The atmosphere was nice and quiet. The staff were really polite and helpful. Expect lot of water refils

So gooddddd

Cheap and cheerful, this is a good spot to grab a quick bite. The $11.90 pork belly and rice was so delicious and such good value. The meat was so tender it just melted in the mouth, completed by a sauce that was symphony for the tastebuds. The pandan panacotta flavour was bold and oh so tasty. It just needs a bit more gelatin to avoid looking like squashed jelly at first touch. My colleague enjoyed his Chilli Chicken, though they only told him his original choice was sold out when my meal arrived.

Speedy turnaround from the kitchen and friendly front of house staff who even let us split the bill. The green themed decor and lighting fixtures modernised the cozy space, which gets loud from all the chatter. A little bit more attention to detail would earn a 5.

The food in Le Charme was the best one! The price is not expensive for the feed me menu and I came home very full. I will definitely come back!

The food we've ordered we're all delicious and the service was phenomenal. We've ordered a variety of food and every single one hits the spot. Everyone who attended our table were pleasant and very helpful. We stayed there for almost three hours. I would definitely come back with my friends and highly recommend this place for everyone to try.

Nothing bad to say.
If you're in Chinatown & don't go here, you could make the worst decision of your life.
We got the feed me for $30pp, 5 course of deliciousness. Carb making must be there specialty: filo pastry as roti bread (incredible) and the fluffiest dumpling pastry known to man. This place has all the charm.

Staff were incredibly polite and attentive. Exceptional service. I ordered the Singaporean curry seafood fried noodles. Delicious and just the right level of seasoning. I will definitely return.

Le Charme is an absolute hidden gem in the heart of china town. This restaurant has a gorgeous interior that eases you into an incredible immersive dining experience. Every dish has been perfected by the chefs working hard in the kitchen.

The $39pp bottomless brunch menu features some amazing dishes that are sure to delight anyones tastebuds. The dishes are classic's with a few modern and exciting twists.
The workers here are super attentive and friendly and ensure that you have the best experience possible.

We tried some new menu items including vegan options and every dish was absolutely perfect. We also got to try an amazing selection of delicious cocktails that pair well with the fusion flavours of the dishes.

Would definitely come back here and 100% recommend every one try this amazing venue!

A lovely dinner in Little Bourke Street during the week at Le Charme, with modern Asian cuisine at the forefront. I loved the option of the feed me menu, which is well priced for the number of dishes you can try without the hassle of deciding what to eat. However, my friend & I opted for choosing a variety of dishes during our visit.

The interior is very intimate with low lighting, flower shaped hanging lights & a gorgeous crystal display on the roof. The cushion seating along the walls made the restaurant feel all the more comfortable and cozy

DRINKS - Good alcohol strength
Salted Caramel Martini: A rich, sweet martini which provides a nice sweet/salty hit with the mixture on the rim of the glass
Royal Rose Fizz: A fresh, slightly sweet cocktail

FOOD
I got to enjoy a very wide range of dishes from dumplings to curries
My favourite dishes were:
Prawn & Chicken Steam Dumplings: Wow, these dumplings were so flavoursome. I really liked the ratio of filling to dumpling wrapper. The dumplings were nicely cooked & served with a nice chilli oil
Saigon Curry Beef Brisket with Roti: Such a flavoursome curry, with soft beef brisket & contrasted with the crunchy/soft roti
Banana Fritters: It's been a while since I've had banana fritters & these did not disappoint! The coating on the banana was crispy and worked so well with the soft banana inside. The ice-cream was a perfect sweet paring

The service was very well organised & attentive. The food came out without any issues

Ordered
Mains: Lemongrass Chargrilled Chicken, Lemongrass Pork Chop
Dessert: Pandan Panna Cotta (which is really good)
Drinks: Triple Colour Coconut Drink & Iced Vietnam Coffee
Overall, food was pretty good, nice & clean interior, volume of Vietnam coffee was little in my opinion (but it is good too).
The Lionking Diner
Nice new little new place in Chinatown, a mix of Thai viet and Chinese dishes, everything was good but the dumplings were not great as you would expect from a restaurant in Chinatown
Debby
New Vietnamese restaurant in Chinatown. The place is nicely decorated and they have quite an extensive menus. The pho is not your traditional testing and lacking depth in the flavour. The fried Spring Roll are great, crispy and tasty. The dumplings sauce is a little bland and can be improved. Service is very friendly and helpful which is not something you normally get in Chinatown establishments.
Morgs71
Nestled in the heart of Chinatown, Le Charme is an aesthetically stunning restaurant specialising in delicious Asian cuisine. The decor is absolutely beautiful with amazing light fixtures, plush seating and a glamorous turquoise colour scheme. Despite the sophistication of the venue, it has an intimate feel and it's easy to feel comfortable here. Staff are welcoming and more than happy to talk you through the menu.

We were keen to try the new bottomless brunch, which at $39 a head, in fantastic value. With an array of cocktails to choose from, as well as beer and wine, I started with a Nutella martini. This fantastic concoction was a fun spin on the espresso martini, with a delicious choc hazelnut flavour. Served in a generous sized glass rimmed with nutella and chopped nuts, it truly was divine and the perfect start to a lovely lunch.

The set menu included fabulous wasabi prawns, which had a good wasabi flavour without it being too overpowering. The prawns were huge and juicy, and the accompanying chopped mango salso was a perfect sweet contrast. The typhoon soft shell crab was a bowl full of deliciously crispy crab with spicy chilli flavour. These crispy delights were totally addictive.

The veggie chicken san choy bao was another generous dish. Tiny fried pieces of chicken and veg in a sweet and sticky sauce were encased in crispy fresh lettuce leaves. The texture was amazing as the small sized pieces of filling were much easier to eat, and the sauce was just heavenly whilst still allowing everything else to remain crunchy. The chicken and prawn dumplings were fantastic with a tasty filling which was complemented by it's dipping sauce. I'm a big fan of dumplings, and these certainly didn't disappoint.

Already feeling full, we were then served the main of Saigon beef brisket curry. So many aromatic spices were used in this dish and it was a flavour bomb. The brisket was succulent from hours of slow cooking, and everything was tender and tasty. A very delicious curry, perfectly mopped up by a side of paper thin rosti which were equally amazing.

Dessert was a beautifully presented pandan panacotta. It had that amazing panacotta wobble and a subtle sweet flavour. With crunchy nut praline, popping candy and ground black sesame; it really was a delight for the senses, and I loved this as a finish to our perfect meal. We also had a traditional iced coffee that was brewed in front of us, and which we proceeded to create ourselves. Interactive and tasty, and surprisingly refreshing. Iced coffee never tasted so good.

Overall, this was an amazing experience and the perfect leisurely lunch. Le Charme was completely full so it was clear that other lunch time diners are also aware of the charms of this exquisite restaurant. It's beautiful ambience, charming hosts and amazing food are a recipe for a quality experience; and those delicious nutella martinis just add to the appeal.

Thank you for hosting us.
Are you looking for a modern Chinese restaurant with an amazing decor, great staff and good food? Well then look no further as this is the place for you. The interior here is beautiful, my friends and I seated comfortably.

We had the feed me option which was an absolute delight, the cocktails here were off the charts! We shared the soft shell crab which was probably one of the BEST I have ever had, the dumplings had a beautiful texture and tasty filling. If you want prawns with a twist then the wasabi prawns will get those taste buds dancing, they were nice and creamy and the wasabi kick was so nice. Saigon curry beef brisket with roti packed a punch and was so full of flavour. The curry tasted rich and was perfect when scooped up with the flaky roti. The veggie chicken san choy bao had a sweetness and I loved the crispy lettuce cup.

The desserts were equally as good with the pandan panna cotta that had such a good jiggle! It was unlike any other panna cotta flavour I have had, I liked the originality of the dish. The banana fritter was incredible, the presentation on point and the batter so crispy and delish.

This was such a great restaurant to visit and I highly recommend. Thank you for the invite I had a fab time!

Have been wanting to try this place. Came here for lunch with my sister.

We had dumpling, housemade tofu, scallop and pork jowl bap. Surprisingly every dishes were amazing. I can tell that they really put a lot of thought in their dishes. Pork jowl bao definitely is a must!

Will come back to try other dishes!

I went for BOTTOMLESS BRUNCH at Le Charme on a Saturday arvo, and LOVED it! I was blown away by the amount of vegan options available, plus the interesting cocktails! Service was great and the interior is beautiful. Great ambiance. Easy location - ChinaTown!

For entrée, I got to try veggie dumplings and spring rolls, lettuce wraps with mock meat, plus some pancake wraps with mock meat (my fave)! For main, I had a special mock chicken dish - the flavours were great and it was very close to real chicken! I was also lucky enough to get to try some banana fritters for dessert :)

Would definitely recommend this place for either the bottomless brunch or a just a regular lunch or dinner date. Great atmosphere and food!

Le Charme offers a range of dishes from different Asian cuisines at affordable prices. The portion sizes are a little small for dinner but all of our dishes were quite tasty and ended up being filling enough. The service was quite friendly.

Food is actually quite good not a fan of the mince in cabbage. We did the all you can drink cocktail and they kept trying to drag on and we didn’t get to drink how ever much we want! False advertising!

Visited Le Charme last week to try their Feed Me Menu

Here are the list of items that were included in the Signature FEED ME menu:
🍤 Wasabi Prawn
🦀 Typhoon Soft Shell Crab
🥬 Veggie Chicken San Choy Bao
🥟 Aunti Li’s Chicken and Prawn Dumplings
🍲 Saigon Curry Beef Brisket with Roti
🍮 Pandan Panna Cotta

The Wasabi Prawn was one of my favourites and the one that surprised me the most. The fruit salad went surprisingly well with the prawn, which adds a slightly acidity to the dish.

The Soft Shell Crab was a little salty, but went amazing with the sweet chilli sauce. Definitely one of the best soft shell crab dishes I've tasted.

The Veggie Chicken San Choy Bao was the sweet and sour chicken wrapped in lettuce. I definitely could have more of these because they were so tasty! There was just a burst of flavours when you bite into it.

The Pandan Panna Cotta was like the cutest dessert ever. I love the soft texture, when you cut into it, you can slice into it very easily without it losing its shape.

The feed me menu is $30 per person but we felt that it is really worth it based on the portions that were served to us. The restaurant was also very aesthetic which is great for pictures and the staff were very friendly. Would definitely like to come back and try their other dishes!
FoodieQueen21
What an amazing restaurant! Their decor is so pretty and even their food presentation was spotless!
The small bites items were portioned well and were so flavorful!
The main dishes and desserts were so yummy as well, I will have a hard time choosing just one dish when I get back here! 😋

I had wonderful time at Le Charme. This fabulous modern asian restaurant is located on little Burke st in China town. The food and drinks were lovely. I highly recommend the feed me menu for $30pp which includes five dishes + 1 dessert, minimum two people.

Everything was very flavoursome. The pandan panna cotta was a lite, refreshing dessert with a smooth creamy texture with a surprising burst of popping candy, and perfect ending to a delicious meal.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. I will definitely be going back.
Decent Feed
Le Charme is a modern Asian restaurant, located just off of Chinatown. The interior of Le Charme is gorgeous - turquoise, spotless walls, with tasteful decor that didn't scream modern Asian restaurant. My partner and I ordered the Wow Wow Spring Rolls, the DIY Crispy Duck with Pancake and the Saigon Curry Beef Brisket. The spring rolls do not look like any that I've ever had - many times longer and twistier than your fried cylindrical goodies, but every bit as delicious. The duck was darker and stringier and the normal Peking duck used in this type of dish, but even more delicious. Healthy servings of each ingredient, especially the duck, was also much appreciated. The Saigon Curry Beef Brisket for me was undoubtedly the star of the show - hearty, not too spicy with a real kick of that turmeric-y, cumin-y flavour that you find in Asian curry. The beef and potato chunks were incredibly soft. Will definitely be coming back to try out other bits of the menu

Popped in for the 30$ lunch and it was great! Services is very friendly and food came out quickly. Would recommend the wasabi prawns and the pandan panacotta

I loved Le Charme when I first tried it and I still love it just as much. It's a super cute venue with cosy seating interesting decor.

The menu has changed since I first visited and now contains even more vegetarian options as well as a vegetarian feed me menu. I started with a refreshing mocktail of blended watermelon and coconut water, followed by vegan chicken san choy bao (which I've had before and really like), steamed veg dumplings and curried veg spring rolls (which are delicious and taste like long, thin samosas).

For mains, I tried the mixed veg, stir fried chicken (another favourite), mushroom fried rice and yellow curry. They all pair really nicely and are also perfect on their own, scooped up with some roti.

Le Charme doesn't have many desserts but the ones they do have are executed really well. I'm not usually a pannacotta fan but their Pandan variation is great. The banana fritters are also absolutely delicious.
Connie
Such a delightful restaurant in the heart of Chinatown. There is a huge variety of asian style dishes and they tasted quite authentic.

We had such a wide range of dishes that night but my favourite was definitely the silky tofu ( which is hand made and so soft), and also the fish with the beautiful pomegranate sauces. The Malaysian butter prawns were also SO YUMMY!! The flavour on these were incredible and were so crispy !

Ordered a salted caramel espresso martini which was quite nice however I didn’t taste much of a salted caramel flavour.

Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Taste: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Ambiance: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Value: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was utterly surprised by the quality of the food served here. Located in the heart of Chinatown, I did not expect to have a Vietnamese fusion banquet that was actually very good. The service was very attentive and the food was excellent. I particularly enjoyed the Wasabi Prawns and the Beef Curry.
Flying Forward
Nice interior design with elements of French colonial architecture.

The menu is a generic variety of Vietnamese, Malaysian and Chinese cuisines, so it’s hard to pinpoint what they specialise in.

Great value though, as you can get lunch dishes for under $10.

Which brings me to the Raw Wagyu Beef Noodle Pho.

The soup itself is a little cloudy, but beefy and mildly sweet, with a background of star anise and cinnamon.

I wouldn’t be able to tell if the sliced beef was actually wagyu or not because of the way it's cooked, but the pork sausage was of the white-meat variety and has a soft texture.

Service was friendly and attentive.

If possible I would rate this over 5 as it was an absolute amazing meal!
The spot in chinatown that you do not want to miss! The modern Asian eatery and cocktail joint that serves up a storm. Walk into an elegant interior space that is inspired by Vietnamese and French décor. What they pride themselves is this amazing feed me menu that is $30 per person, and what’s even better is to get the feed me menu with boozy bottomless brunch at an additional $39 (which makes it $69). This is an amazing value as you get a range of White, Red, Beer, Mocktail and Cocktails and I must say their cocktails are really impressive.

We went with the Signature Feed Me Menu and it was really good. Started off with Wasabi Prawns, Veggie Chicken San Choy Bao, Typhoon Soft Shell Crab and chicken and prawn dumplings and these were just mains. The presentation of each dish was crafted perfectly and the portions were reasonable, could not even decide which was the favourite for entrée as they all tasted so good.

For mains we had the Saigon Curry Beef Brisket with Roti. The curry was really good and the roti is made in house. Definitely not what you’ll get outside as it was flaky and crunchy and it went really well with the curry. To finish it off, we had the pandan panna cotta which was an absolute highlight, the textures were silky smooth and it had popping candy to give it the extra flavours.

For the cocktails, we went with the Nutella Martini, Tropical Delight, Japanese Illusion, and Monkey Spritz. The Nutella martini was one of the owners creations and it was amazing. Tasted like a dessert itself and it was layered with Nutella and nuts around the glass, which makes you want to lick them clean.

We really enjoyed our meal at Le Charme and the staff have been really friendly and attentive. Be sure to check out their amazing lunch options as you do not need to have a hole in your wallet for a nice lunch in the city. They do have different lunch specials from time to time and they are value for money.

I now know where I’ll be heading to the next time I’m in the city as this place serves up a storm and the price is reasonable.

This place is extremely overpriced for what it is - average asian food. In Chinatown of all places we expected to eat more authentic and delicious food but we were disappointed. However, the ambience of the place is great and we were able to book which I know is rare in the area. The staff were also friendly which is great.
Tl;dr - food expensive and not tasty, ambience and staff nice.

4 of us came to dine here after placing a reservation, and I’m glad we did because for a weekday it was still quite busy. My expectations were high from reading past reviews, and people were right, not only was the food delicious but also very good value for money!! We ordered a LOT but my stand outs were the prawns cakes, duck pancake, bbq skewers, dumplings and crispy lemongrass fish. I was not so keen on the beef brisket curry. Staff were really friendly, but could have been a little more attentive as it took a while to order. Will definitely be returning for cheap but very tasty viet food.

Oh the rating was for the service only.
Very unpleasant experience re the service. Put down a reservation and got a message saying the table was ready and we got here on time but was told to queue. We showed them our reservation and the message, only got "please wait". So after queuing for another 15minutes we left and got a phone call right after telling us the table was ready...

The service is great, staffs are very friendly and attentive. I love love the food at Le Charme, especially the duck wraps! Can get quite busy so booking is a must. The decorations are wonderful, just completes my dining experience at the restaurant.

Gorgeous interior, flavoursome delicious food. Absolute winner!

I was lucky enough to visit Le Charme after winning a competition they were running through their social media with @melbrunchqueen

📍Located in Melbourne’s CBD, Little Bourke Street - Le Charme sits in the busy and ** Chinatown.

🔆 On arrival, I couldn’t stop admiring the stunning interior. It was all so thought through, to even the finest details. It wasn’t over lit but still provided lighting above each table to create a more intimate dining experience.

👥 The staff were so efficient and observant. The moment I had finished my water, before I knew it, one of the lovely waitresses had filled it back up. The food was delivered at perfect intervals and similarly the empty plates and crockery were quickly removed.

We were treated to an incredible “Le Charme Feed Me Special”. Such fantastic value!

🍽 Filled with incredible dishes that are just oozing with flavours. Wasabi Prawn, Typhoon Soft Shell Crab, Veggie Chicken San Choy Bao (v), Aunti Li’s Chicken and Prawn Dumplings, Saigon Curry Beef Brisket with Roti and to finish off in style a Pandan Panda Cotta.

🌟 My absolute favourite dish was the Soft Shell Crab. For someone who has never liked crab in the past... this has changed everything. The combination of flavours in the batter, it’s been cooked perfectly and paired with the sweet chilli sauce.. an absolute 10/10 winner.

Overall, I genuinely could not have faulted anything. From start to finish, this was an incredible dining experience that I will gladly recommend to anyone and everyone.

💚Impeccable service
💚Delicious, fresh and flavoursome food
💚Beautiful interior and styling touches
💚Fantastic Value
💚Central CBD Location

Streaky Eats
Located in Chinatown, this Asian restaurant is equipped with a brightly lit signage with a Frenchy name that draws your attention. If that does not look welcoming enough, maybe the liquors displayed by the window might just convince you that tonight can turn into a good night. Prepare to put your name down to wait in line on Friday nights as it can get quite full during dinner service.

Outstanding selection of lunch specials, coupled with a fit-out that is just superb on the eye – Le Charme breaks the mold of some of it’s nearby competitors. Sadly there is no BYO, which is one facet of ChinaTown eating that should always be retained, but this is a minor quibble. Pan-Asian menu at Le Charme and The Dear Luncher sampled some of their pork dumplings, followed by a great bowl of FER/FOE/FAR. This bowl had with it some very nice wagyu beef, but also some delectable pork sausage. For 9.90 you cannot go wrong as far as lunch specials are concerned. The booze is pricey. The Dear Luncher recommends ordering a bottle so that you don’t do what he did and end up drinking three glasses of wine for roughly $40.

I really wanted to like this place but sadly the poor customer service was a turn off. I popped in for a quick bite on my own before seeing a film with friends. Had to wave staff down to order and then waited over 25 mins for a bowl of wonton soup. Then they had the nerve to ask me to move to another table as they wanted to fit in a large group. Told them to cancel my order and left.
Hello. Imnikki
I have been back numerous times and Le Charme continue to wow me each time. Not afraid to play with flavours, the food here are sensational in taste and also texture.

My most recent meal here left me planning a return visit even before the end of my meal. Each and every dish share one common trait - different spectrum of flavours that not only complement one another, but take the flavour profile to a whole new level. Highlights include the house made tofu that was incredibly silky smooth, and the green curry chicken that not only did justice to the chicken breast - so moist and tender, but also showcased a curry sauce that had incredible depth of flavour.

One thing that I must mention is the rice. Rice is not hard to cook, but to achieve fluffy soft rice that still retains a slight firmness within its each distinct grain, and is deeply fragrant, that is a skill not all have yet to master. Here, this is what you can expect to receive. Any Asian mom would be proud of the chef here.

My sweet tooth was not complaining either, when the pandan panna cotta and banana fritters were that delicious. The former was a sexy jiggly treat, and the latter was a perfect balance between crispy and soft. In case you were wondering, yes, I had both desserts all to myself.

The cocktails and mocktails here are just as impressive, which makes their boozy bottomless brunch something not to be missed. Not only that, the Feed Me Menu will only set you back $30 per person yet leaving you bursting at the seams.

If you have yet to try out Le Charme, you're definitely missing out.

Good restaurant with nice ambiance and decorations!

Tried the Feed Me menu. It was just $30 for 5 courses and dessert! The taste for each course are both good! Especially the prawn and soft crab! Also, my friend and I also be impressed by the dessert. It was so yummy and special!

And the staffs are very friendly and nice!
