We had the salmon bagel and the pancakes to share as a bit of a main and dessert combo. The flavour of both were really good. Service was great and they brought a water bowl for the pooches, fairly standard cafe prices so I thought the bagel was a little over priced but compared to other cafes the price point checks out.

Friendly staff and food quite good, relatively basic and limited options but they’re done well. The Astro breakfast was a lot bigger than expected with pretty much the whole cheesy kransky and generous portions of everything. Good place if you’re looking for a decent sized feed. Venue was a little drafty in areas.

We visited for dinner on a Saturday evening. We were promptly welcomed and seated in one of their comfortable booths. The decor of the venue is welcoming and staff were friendly. We noticed a free glass of wine deal with every main meal, which was great value too!<br/><br/>We decided to order the kid’s fish and chips and penne pasta. My husband and I ordered the Calamari Salad (with cherry tomato, spring onion, corn, cabbage, rocket & tangy lemon dressing) and Grilled Chicken Salad (with smashed avocado, roasted capsicum, corn, pesto, fetta & rocket salad). We were pleased with the great healthy options available and how flavourful the dishes looked.<br/><br/>The kid’s meals arrived promptly and shortly after our meals arrived. We enjoyed our salads and the kids enjoyed their meals and trying some of our food too. Had we not been pushed for time, we would have loved to stay for dessert. We had a lovely visit and would love to return to try some meals from their brunch menu too.

I entered the premise around 12.45pm today. The cafe isn’t packed and I wasn’t greet or lead to a table. I decided to take a sit after a minute of standing like an idiot. I took a sit at the back for a couple minutes and no one came to me. Then I decided to sit at the front and hope they will see me. I was wrong and I wasn’t greeted. The waiters were too busy chatting and taking photos. Some saw me there but turn their head away! WTF? I sat there close to 10 mins and not a single person asked me whether I’m ok! I left the cafe afterwards and definitely will not come back no matter how good the food is.

Unfortunately despite the lovely and friendly service, I felt like this cafe was not up to scratch. I'm scratching my head wondering how this cafe achieved a glorious 4+ rating and suspect that maybe there has been a change in management?<br/>The staff were lovely enough to make us a porridge off their recently changed menu, but unfortunately this was particularly lacklustre. Akin to a dish that I would make myself at home, without flavouring, because I'm on a diet. A sad prospect when your aim is to have a Melbourne brunch on a Sunday. The chilli scrambled eggs were not spicy, low in flavour, and were essentially just a basic scrambled eggs on toast dish.<br/>The interior is set up in an odd way whereby the chefs are constantly running past the dining tables to access a store room in the back of the restaurant. This makes for a disruptive meal with staff constantly knocking about near a table that is situated right near the walkway.<br/>The menu and aspects of this cafe are outdated compared to our current competitive and ultra modern brunch scene. I'm talking laminated menus, big breakfast menu option, and dishes trying desperately to be modern but not meeting the mark on flavour.<br/>Unfortunately I'm just a sucker for high quality flavours and will take this any day over lovely and wholesome service. Sorry guys.

Great local cafe! I have been living in the area for about 8 years now, and I still remember when I saw the new Astroluxe sign and I said, YES! A new cafe 🤗<br/>My sister and I have walked down from our street a couple of times to order our favourite almond chai tea with honey, and it’s always perfect 👌🏽 We have also had brunch here and the food is great. <br/>I definitely recommend if you live close by or are in the area!

We were warmly greeted upon arrival, and the waitress who looked after us made us felt right at home.<br/><br/>Feeling like sweets on top of sweets, I had a Banana Split smoothie and the Over the Moon Pancakes. I was definitely over the moon with the pancakes. Incredibly soft and fluffy, a great balance of different flavours, and not one but two scoops of ice cream! I wanted a bit more brownie crumble to add a more crunchy texture, but that was not a deal breaker at all.<br/><br/>My smoothie was just as delicious as the Super Green smoothie that my partner ordered. Mine was more indulgent and decadent, but his was a glass of refreshing and yummy green goodness.<br/><br/>My partner's mushroom dish was another stunner. An assortment of juicy shrooms, pecorino and goats curd, tangy salsa verde, and with the genius addition of pecan crunch. Of course, he had to add bacon and there was no way that did not take the yumminess up another notch. A crazy delicious dish.<br/><br/>Gorgeous brunch, lovely vibe and I definitely see myself returning.

I visited Astroluxe for brunch one weekday to catch up with a friend that lived in the area. After seeing good reviews, we decided to give them a try.<br/>The cafe is a lovely space with lots of natural light, cute decorations and greenery. The kitchen is open and in the middle of the venue, so you can watch and hear the chef working away.<br/>My friend and I were greeted upon entering and told to sit where we wished. The waitress then brought us menus and left us to ponder. We opted to order the soup of the day to share to warm us up - prawn dumpling soup, and I decided on the chicken soba noodle salad while my friend ordered the wagyu beef burger. <br/>The food came out fairly quickly. The dumplings were plump and juicy, while the soup had lots of vegetables and umami flavour. It wasn’t bland but wasn’t flavourful either; bit of an awkward albeit light taste.<br/>The chicken soba noodle salad was a cold dish as expected - the chicken, though cold, was decently seasoned and not too dry. There were lots of vegetables and a good amount of noodles. The main sauce seemed to be a teriyaki dressing, which I found did not really tie the ingredients in the dish together well. Overall I found the dish to be very average and a but disappointing.<br/>The wagyu beef burger was smaller than expected, pretty flavourless and very dry. The chips were also bland and not crunchy. My friend couldn’t bring himself to finish it despite being hungry...<br/>Overall a very average and pretty disappointing experience.

Large family friendly cafe with a nice traditional brunch menu. The big breakfast here is seriously BIG and is enough to feed two! I really enjoyed the huge chunks of bacon in my chilli scramble and it’s one of those dishes you’ll want to order again and again. Staff are very enthusiastic and do a great job - particularly as Astroluxe is popular with many young families so can get busy pretty quickly.

If you are passing by for brunch, this will hit spot. Friendly staff and very accommodating. The pancakes were a little on the dry side, the smoothy was refreshing and the loose leaf tea was good quality. They offer free food for kids during the week which is cool, good for over the holiday period when the kids are around.

My friend and I actually had ordered the same mushroom dish after a craving for mushrooms. We were underwhelmed. Essentially the meal was sautéed mushroom on bread. Both of our meals were completely over salted therefore unable to enjoy them. My friend has ordered the pancakes which were too quite basic, nothing special besides the brownie pieces. Three stars because the coffee and service were great.

Got the zucchini and broccoli fritters, they were overly fried and tasted more like falafel balls. The relish that accompanied it was overly sweet and tasted like the homebrand supermarket variety. <br/><br/>My partner had the vegetarian breakfast and found the spinach to be extremely salty and the haloumi poorly prepared. <br/><br/>Overall I would not recommend coming here.

😱Lizzie’s first impression: although a little out of the city, this brunch place is really worth checking out. The staff are super welcoming and attentive and the decor of the cafe is done really well. <br/><br/>🍩Lizzie enjoyed: the food here is exceptional. The mushroom dish was delicious and honestly the stand out dish of this cafe - they put all kinds of mushrooms in and it all worked well together. They used goat cheese with honey and some nuts to even out the mushroom flavour and added a bit of texture to the dish - Very well thought out. <br/><br/>Their bacon and egg bun is magnificent and nothing I’ve tried before. Think a better version of the mcmuffin- it also had a egg sunny side up. I was so impressed and the flavours were all there especially with the cooked sweetened onions and the honey glazed bacon. It also came with a hash brown which perfected the plate. <br/><br/>🍅Lizzie did not enjoy: their pancakes were a little on the softer side which is not my preferred texture but each to their own. Nonetheless I loved the flavour especially with the passionfruit! <br/><br/>🥇Lizzie rates overall: the staff here are all so friendly and I loved the vibes of this suburban cafe. I will sure be back for more Astroluxe!

Whilst the exterior decor isn’t the most chic or suave in town, once you step in it’s a whole different story. <br/><br/>The spacious interior is modern and relaxing, with the main colour scheme being the sun-faded grey vibe. Everything was quite easy on the eye and harmonious. The staff was friendly and welcoming too.<br/><br/>We had the soba noodle salad (as per the recommendation of the chef) and the smashed avo on toasts with two lattes. The lattes were good, although not groundbreaking but it sufficed. The soba noodle salad was light, refreshing with a tangy sweetness on the tongue that was accompanied perfectly by the mint. The smashed avocado had great flavour and potential to be outstanding, however it fell short to the slightly over cooked poached egg. I like my eggs to be runny and coating my toast but this one was mostly solidified. Slightly disappointed for otherwise a nice experience. <br/><br/>Service: 5/5<br/>Food: 4/5<br/>Ambience: 5/5<br/><br/>Overall rating:<br/>4.5/5

Astroluxe is a gorgeous all day eatery serving vibrant, fresh food in a beautiful spacious venue (loved the grey and pink interior) and even has a small courtyard out back (so puppy friendly!). We came for brunch after they recently launched their new menu, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience!<br/><br/>We had the Astro Signature Assorted Mushrooms which was an absolute winner - seriously if you love mushrooms you need to try this dish! Packed full of flavour and different varieties of seasonal mushrooms, it was elevated with leek, grated pecorino, salsa verde, goats curd, pecan crunch and a poached egg. The smell of this dish is amazing and it’s just lovely to eat all the way from first bite to last!<br/><br/>We also tried the Asian Chicken Soba Noodle Salad which was super fresh and delicious with free range grilled chicken, shredded chinese cabbage, pea, baby corn, carrots, fresh herbs, fresh chilli, roasted peanuts, spring onion, chilli and lime dressing. This is the sort of dish I could eat for lunch every day and never get tired of!<br/><br/>Lastly we had the Over the Moon Pancake which is a beautifully fluffy vanilla pancake topped with seasonal fruit, berry compote, vanilla ice cream, house made brownie crumb and maple syrup. This was delicious and would be a winner for kids especially. <br/><br/>Definitely give Astroluxe a try if you’re in the area, or make the drive for that mushroom dish in particular. The staff and owner Jackie are so lovely and their passion for food is so evident in each dish, with almost every element made in house. We can’t wait to go back!

We were really curious and just got time to try one of the brunch place in our area. Place is big enough and you can have a chill place to chat with your friends. The service is excellent with friendly waitress.<br/><br/>We tried Over The Moon Pancake, Son of a Bun Chicken Burger, and Astroluxe Wagyu Burger.<br/><br/>The pancake was thick and fluffy. Loving it so much with the perfect sweetness with 2 scoops ice cream on top, really satisfied my cravings. A little bit of brownies crumbles make it perfect with additional strawberry, raspberries, and blueberries.<br/><br/>The bun for the burgers are light and not too oily. The chicken is really crispy combined with veggies and kimchi makes it perfect combination. Additionally, the wagyu is the star with the cheese melting in between, bacon, and egg really fits our taste buds.<br/><br/>Overall, Place is really cozy for coming with your friends (we sit for 2.5 hours) and great food with good price.

Spend the long weekend catching up with the girlfriends but ending up very disappointing at this cafe which ruined our day. <br/>My girlfriend’s cappuccino had plastic film in it. We reported it to the staff and the coffee was taken away however we were still charged on the coffee when we paid the bill. We have to raise out there is a problem with the coffee again to have the charge waived. Lack of communication between staffs. <br/><br/>My fish of the day/special of the day: crispy skin salmon fillet does not have crispy skin. Instead the skin is soft and the fish was overcooked and taste like cooked twice as there’s burn out pieces stick onto it. Also since it is a fish fillet I do not expect there’s bones in it but yet there is one. There is no sauce to it but just the lemon, the fennel is being cut thickly like onions (fennel always served in thin slices) and there’s peas in the salad. Usually when there is peas it will be meshed into a gravy/sauce but I seldom see it serves in the shape of itself mixed in the salad. The snow peas leaves are way too many than for garnishing (instead it feels like it’s snow peas leaves salad). <br/><br/>We also ordered the chicken burger (just so so) and calamari salad (which the calamari is not crispy at all) and they were just ok. <br/><br/>I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because the price is not expensive.

Just went to Astroluxe as the rating on Zomato was so high. Very disappointed with the food. Ordered a smashed avo and it came with a very strong hommus (tasted like supermarket one), couldn’t taste anything else. My partner’s dish as mine wasn’t good either, both breads were very wet from the food. I think is room for improvement on the food. <br/>The space was good and the customer service great.

One of our favourite south east side cafes. Us Breakybabes are always so delighted with Astroluxes friendly service but what keeps us coming back for more is the incredible food creations. Each dish you can feel and taste the love put in to it. The perfect amount of unique yet still having a classic home made food taste. The summer mushroom dish is by far my favourite off the menu with some cheeky added extras. Oh and if you are feeling a little daring you cannot go past Astroluxes Bloody Mary cocktail... Came to this place on a weekend after hearing so much about it. At first glance of the menu the dishes looked to be your run of the mill fare: reuben, eggs benedict, salad, pancakes, smashed avo, big breakfast, chilli scrambled eggs, burgers etc. I ordered the reuben because I have been looking for a good place to enjoy a delicious reuben and lo and behold I found it! The pastrami was juicy and savoury without being too salty, the swiss cheese had a gooey texture without being too cloying and the sauerkraut provided the sourness to the sandwich to cut through the richness of it. And of course the mayonnaise tied it all together and gave it some moisture. Even the bread was toasted to perfection. Also love the chips that went with it (though personally I feel that shoestring fries go better with this dish than chips) and the pickles were a nice palate cleanser in between bites. My partner ordered the green salad with chicken and said it was delicious. My iced coffee was aromatic and creamy as well. I’m excited to come back and try their other dishes on the menu.

Here’s what we had (note that this was their winter menu)!<br/><br/>Eggs benedict - served with apple slices, bacon and a rosti, this was an average dish with the bacon being slightly overcooked and the apple slices not really adding much variety to it.<br/><br/>Winter mushrooms - coming with seasonal mushrooms, salsa verde and goats curd, this was a pleasant and delicious dish (I’m admittedly a mushroom lover) with the mushrooms being flavorful thanks to the salsa verde and goats curd adding that extra kick to it!<br/><br/>Brûlée waffles - two scoops of ice cream, banana brûlée and fresh berries, what more could I ask for?! The waffles were cooked to perfection giving it a nice soft crunch to it and the dish was so beautiful and extremely yummy with the right level of sweetness for me! Each bite made me wanting to go back for more hence making it my favorite dish of the 3!<br/><br/>Overall, we had an enjoyable time at Astroluxe and can’t wait to try their summer menu next!

I visited here recently to try their new menu and really loved the caramel banana hotcakes and the chilli scramble. The green smoothie was also refreshing and good for the insides.<br/>The smashed avo was nice but I would have preferred some chunks of fresh avocado to give it some extra texture, but this is a preference thing. I was impressed by the coffee and the passion the owner’s have for good coffee and offering a great meal and service to their customers. Some great specials on offer too like Friday night dinners and kids eat free on weekdays before 11.30am and after 1.30pm. Pop in and visit!<br/>Thanks for having us!

Located in a off street in Bentleigh, this cafe has a unassuming entrance, not quite noticeable.<br/><br/>We joined in a group and had a buffet meal requested . The entrees were chicken skewers, meat balls, scallops and some fritters. The skewers were well cooked and served with a randy bright yellow garlic sauce which was exceptional. The veg/ meat balls were deep fried and had a coconut type filling actually melting in the mouth.<br/><br/>Mains was a range of veg and non veg curry options including Thai green curry, plain rice, veg curry. The chicken curry was good but veg curry lacked the base. The veggies cut were not serve accomodative when served on the plate.<br/><br/>Desserts were really great!!! The cheese cake was simply wow!!<br/><br/>Drinks menu is average, service is great !!!<br/><br/>Revisit : Yes<br/>

We came by Astroluxe for a late lunch on Sunday. This cool little light filled venue had a pile of character in its simply designed interior. We liked the skylights and blue crockery. <br/><br/>Whilst listening to chill out tunes we perused the menu and started with a long black, a skinny latte and a super green smoothie. The smoothie was a lovely combo of fruit and veg and was made complete with a fresh ginger hit. <br/><br/>To continue on our healthy start, we ordered “That good salad”, a the combination of baby kale, cauliflower, roasted vegetables, full of sweet earthy roasted flavours and when combined with the pomegranates seeds, caraway seed purée and goats curd, a real sassy tang and fresh pop arrived on my taste buds. In my opinion a real winning food combination, very Ottolenghi.<br/><br/>To balance out our super healthy start we also ordered “The son of a bun chicken burger” and fries, this arrived in a super fresh brioche bun, with crispy double fried chicken and kimchee. The kimchee was paired with a sticky chilli caramel soy sauce and this bought a lovely sweetness to each bite, nice to mop up with the crispy fries. <br/><br/>Plenty of additional healthy and not so healthy choices on the menu and some flexibility around proteins so a good overall menu. Thanks so much for inviting us in. It’s would be a dream of mine to have a cafe of this standard near home so the locals must be wrapped.

Came here to try Friday dinner after seeing some yummy photos on Instagram. The Seafood pasta did not disappoint! The prawns were very succulent and pasta has a nice balance of flavor. The calamari entree were very tender with a tasty wasabi mayo. Overall had a very pleasant dining experience. The chef is also very welcoming.

Astroluxe is a fantastic cafe located on Chesterville Road in East Bentleigh. The interior is spacious & inviting with comfy booths as well as bigger tables for diners. <br/>We visited on a Sunday & it was really busy, obviously a popular place with the locals. <br/><br/>The menu includes some traditional breakfast dishes with a twist as well as a strong Asian influence as well. We ordered a few meals to share, Asian chicken soba noodle salad, ‘that good salad’ and waffles to finish. <br/><br/>The Asian noodle salad was my favourite. Super fresh & full of flavour served with a chilli lime dressing which was delicious. <br/><br/>‘That good salad’ was full of roasted veggies, goats curd & a caraway seed purée. It had great flavour but not a particularly photogenic dish. <br/><br/>The waffles were so bright & colourful. Served with brûlée banana, vanilla anglaise, salted peanut praline, chocolate ice cream, raspberry sauce & white chocolate, it was sweet & indulgent & the perfect end to our meal. <br/><br/>It was lovely to speak to the owner who was very receptive to feedback on our meals. To me this is a sign of a business striving for constant improvement & I applaud him for this. A great cafe to check out, thanks so much for having us.

A perfect lunch at Astroluxe! The owner and staff were extremely accommodating and friendly and the food was delicious and presented beautifully! We parked right out the front (30 min parking) and sat inside although there is outdoor seating as well! We had a smoothie each and a meal and they were very tasty! The food came out quickly which was good so not much waiting time if your in a hurry!. After lunch we enjoyed a cake and coffee. The food was all very fresh and large portion sizes. Overall I couldn’t fault this restaurant and will be going back again for sure! Once again the brunch experience was perfect. This time we sat out the back (you can bring your fur baby) which was lovely with greenery and some sunshine. We ordered the Over The Moon pancakes , The Astro Breakfast and The Superfood Crunch Salad! Everything was very tasty and the meals were quite large ( I couldn’t eat it all) although I wanted to! The hotcakes were to die for! So so yummy! We also had the mango smoothie and berry (we had last time) and again were delish! The service was friendly and the meals were quite quick in coming out. A good option for locals, Astroluxe are on top of their Insta game with delicious looking plates.<br/><br/>The café is bright with warm colours, open spaces and comfortable booths.<br/><br/>My strong latte was excellent – good microfoam and a nice rounded flavour. I could’ve had 2 or 3 even.<br/><br/>*Chilli scrambled eggs – the eggs were quite roughly scrambled and still soft but just set. The bacon felt like it was from the supermarket deli, roughly chopped and folded through the eggs.<br/><br/>*The good salad – with nicely roasted veggies, the dressing is a bit creamy with the goats curd. Added grilled chicken which was chunks of cold roasted chicken tossed through the salad.<br/><br/>The execution of these dishes could have room for improvement, and for me, it’s a solid 3.

We came into Astroluxe for dinner the other night and was pleasantly surprised with the extensive menu . Astroluxe only does dinner once a week on a Friday night and after speaking to the chef we found out that this menu also changes weekly. <br/><br/>We tried his special chicken wing dish which had a secret sauce that was tangy , spicy, sweet and utterly delicious , this dish to me was a 10/10. We then sampled his smoked salmon croquette which was a creamy smooth texture . The outside was crunchy and my partner mentioned this was one of this top dishes this year ( a great compliment) , he could not stop raving about it<br/><br/>For mains we ordered the beef bourguignon with creamy mash and also a seafood pasta . The spaghetti although was not home made had great flavour , we even found out the olives were marinated in house. The seafood was abundant and also very fresh . The beef bourguignon was a very delicious dish indeed, the stew was rich in flavour and tasted like it had been cooking for hours as the meat was falling apart, the mash underneath was creamy and silky smooth- another perfect dish<br/><br/>Cannot wait to try out the brunch menu here . Located in Chesterville Road, Bentleigh East, on a very unassuming precinct, Astroluxe is bringing in an air of class into the neighbourfood. While there is nothing wrong with a bain marie and a charcoal chicken shop (both things I frequent), it's nice for Bentleigh to have some cafes that you would normally need to go to Brunswick St or the inner East side to access. <br/><br/>We were invited by the owner to try their menu on a Monday lunchtime. THe interior is very typical of the latest bunch of modern cafes that have popped up. Shades of pastel, black bars, open kitchen, greenery. <br/><br/>We had the 'That good salad' and the 'Waffles'. That good salad was, so so so good. It was well balanced, crunchy, sweet, savoury, caramlised, moist. We really enjoyed it and licked the plate clean. <br/><br/>Waffles are on par with the best of the best instagram waffle dishes that are out there. The point of difference is the brulee banana, I very much enjoyed that. The seasonal fruits countered the ice cream and angalise and raspberry sauce. Waffles themselves are a denser belgian waffle. Very decadant, but not sickly. <br/><br/>Smoothies were tasty and refreshing. Overall, Astroluxe is a much needed addition to Bentleigh East.

We were lucky to be invited to this cute suburban cafe in Bentleigh. This friendly, warm cafe has the perfect atmosphere for a weekend brunch. With a large range of breakfast,brunch and lunch options and even a cute kids menu.<br/><br/>What we ordered:<br/><br/>Chilli Scrambled Egg: Definitely a meal for the hungry with 2 slices of toast and a mountain of Chilli Eggs. This dish was flavoursome with the kick of chilli.<br/><br/>Fish of the Day: Grilled crisp salmon, salsa verde with saute carrots and roast potatoes. This was a great lunch meal. The salmon was cooked perfectly, the carrots and potatoes accompanied this dish well. <br/><br/>Waffles: Unfortunately the waffles were a bit disappointing as they were a bit dry. However the toppings were great! With ice cream, cream and a brûlée banana.

We were invited to Astroluxe on the weekend and what a fabulous spot it was. Located super close to chadstone (my happy place) it’s modern fitout and delicious menu make it the perfect spot to lunch post an afternoons shopping. And if you’re a lucky local kids eat free on weekdays when adults order a meal between 11.38 and 1.30- definitely a very family friendly place. <br/><br/>We chose the fish of the day off the specials menu and were pleased with its restaurant quality plating. The menu boasted many interesting and impressive specials that you wouldn’t typically see a cafe offering. Even the smashed avo which I ordered had a bit off a twist with a house made cashew cream. This complimented the beautiful roasted super sweet tomatoes and the Persian feta and olive bread gave it a little saltiness <br/><br/>We then had the waffles for a sweet ending which was an excellent choice. Some of the best I’ve tried, well made and lots of flavour in the various accompaniments. The owner told us he wasn’t overly interested in ‘ Instagram food’ that’s more focused with appearance rather then taste. He just wants to serve good quality food, as far as I’m concerned though they have nailed both. Washed down with a mango and coconut smoothie I was one happy customer

Great Cafe! Love their eggs benedict! Taste is amazing good. The staff are friendly as well. Every time I went there from Hobart, excited to try that dish! It's very hard to find the good chai latte while they nailed it! Glad to know this place, 5 stars give to them and recommend friends to come and visit as well if you were in Melbourne.

After walking out of poncho we went here for breakfast! Very nice spot service extremely quick and food was very nice. Ordered chilli scrambled eggs x3 with avocado. Was literally on our table in 4 minutes with coffee to accompany! <br/>Well done- would recommend this.

Been here a few times and the food is always tasty. The service however is a little arrogant. When I mentioned my toast was burnt it was whisked away without any words and returned with fresh toast. This is great that it was done but perhaps a ‘I’m sorry about that let me get that fixed up for you’ the mushroom fish is delicious!

Thought we would try this place for the second time. It was probably 6-12 months the last time we were there. Sadly enough nothing has changed and what really brings this place down is the lack of friendly service. The food is actually quite nice but the service is shocking. No smile, no effort to ask how are you etc. I asked for a teaspoon for my child and it never arrived. Won't be back when there are several cafes in the area that offer good service and a good vibe.

Astroluxe is very easy on the eye. Nice décor, the signage, the people, the furniture - it’s all very appealing. The menu too, is quite eclectic. Lunch options look tremendous but for the debut visit it was breakfast that was experienced. The Dear Luncher experienced their chilli scrambled eggs. In addition, after seeing a cheese kransky on someone else’s breakfast plate a decision made was to add this sausage to the eggs. It was a tremendous idea because this cheese kransky was the highlight of the meal. Cheeze ooze noticeable when cutting through it, high quality smallgood. The Dear Luncher is all about high quality smallgoods. The chill scrambled eggs were not what was expected. They were decent, but they were just scrambled eggs interwoven with some spring onion and non-spicy chilli strands. There was some expectation of some zest, and a bit of a heat kick – none was present. Still, very nice eggs and the parmesan cheese they were cooked with was a nice change-up. The coffee, was just OK. A little on the bitter side. This place is busy for a reason though, an impressive operation.

Visited for breakfast with my family, food was prompt and enjoyable so i believe the kitchen is under control, however, Front of house service was an absolute shambles, we were seated, then completely forgotten about, we had to ask for menus, then had to call the attendant back again to give them our coffee order. The coffees took far too long, at least 15 minutes which is unacceptable for breakfast. The coffee station was messy, and disorganised. We waited so long for someone to pick up the bill at the end of the meal that we ended up walking it up to the front counter ( i wish i could say they were flat out but unfortunately they weren't.) I do hope these guys work on their service, improved floor staff, floor management and a faster more capable barista and i think this could be a great local spot.

Visited this cafe based on Instagram pics & reviews. Greeted by a lovely female staff member & first round of coffee was great. Ordered the autumn mushroom brekkie & pretty disappointed - wayyyyyyyy too much garlic & oil for a breakfast dish. Serious overkill on the pesto too. <br/>Before leaving, ordered a chocolate milkshake & coffee to takeaway- the milkshake was $8!!!!! and was presented in a small plastic takeaway cup with a straw- very disappointing & overpriced for $8. The takeaway coffee also lacklustre & not consistent with quality of previous coffee at start of the meal. Overall, super expensive breakfast stop for what was ordered.

I've been wanting to try this cafe for a long time and finally made it. Ordered myself the beetroot cured salmon and a coffee. Coffee was spot on but cant quite say the same for the meal. I know it was beetroot cured salmon- and that was great, but then there was way too much beetroot on the plate. To be honest, i'm not a big beetroot fan so this was totally overwhelming. Didn't finish my meal. <br/><br/>Also, grabbed myself a takeaway coffee, but was disappointed when the medium size takeaway cup was a scam. It was taller and slimmer and no way bigger than the serving size of a small coffee.

Location is first, close to the neighbourhood, 5 minutes walk to a big reserve. So perfect for a nice play with the little ones.

We are cafe snobs and work our way through all the top cafes in this part of Melbourne. Astroluxe was fine - nothing wrong with it - but disappointing compared to expectations. The main plus is that it's the only cafe in this strip and so it's great for the locals and passing trade. But don't drive here. Compared to other good cafes in the area, the portions are small and whilst tasty, are not amazing. I could say "it's good for Bentleigh" and it is; but with Boosa and Merchants Guild around the corner and Left Field just 2km away, I see no reason to return.
