Ate dine in. Service was excellent with attentive staff. Pizza came out very quickly, was hot and tasty. If I lived local would get takeaway often. Happy to recommend. Giving it 4 stars due to in house dining atmosphere; other customers were great, fluorescent lighting, no frills furniture, toilets were 'usable'.

Delicious pizza!! Ordered Vegetarian pizza and spicy potato wedges. Both the dishes were well made and very extremely tasty. The staff is nice and friendly too ♥️ I would definitely be returning with my friends here 💯♥️

Tried their Aussie and supreme pizzas. Both delicious. Called in for delivery, was able to pay with card on delivery - they had portable reader which was great, was $6 with a min $15 spend. Thin crust with loads of toppings on both (a lot more in comparison to other standard pizzas from most places) was full with a couple of slices of their family sized pizzas (these were cut into 12 slices too btw). Pizzas delivered hot

Have been going to this place for over a year and it was great. Now with the change of owners and/or staff I had to throw my chicken parmigiana in the bin as it was uncooked in a number of places. Disappointing.

Not bad but needs more focus on ingredients & flavour. 3 or 4 large fresh prawns rather than heaps of watery shrimp. Needs homemade Napoli also. Excellent delivery service.

I ordered my regular Pizza (half chicken, half beef) to take away then I walked away and sat in my car waiting for my order. suddenly I realized I forgot to ask them not to put ham on my pizza as I used to say but it was too late. when I got my pizza it was without ham 😉. Yes you should love your job then you can memorize every specific needs of each individual customer. next time I will walk and say hello, one pizza please.

Another Friday night in, another takeaway pizza. I really think this has become the new norm in ISO. things could be worse though, especially with so much good pizza around. I ordered ahead, so my pizzas were ready to go when I got there. The toppings were abundant, with plenty of cheese; and I loved the rich tomato sauce and chewy crust. They were still hot by the time I got them home which is always a plus. The staff seemed pleasant enough, there was a good variety on the menu, and the prices were good; all things that would make me come back again in the future.

Overall, i have to say Patony Pizza is a decent place to get a pizza. Firstly, We ordered the Marinara pizza, which was full of toppings and flavor and we enjoyed it very much. Then we had gnocchi with carbonara sauce which was ok for us since the gnocchi little bit chewy but it was good proportion. Last one is the risotto pollo funghi, for us it was dry and not very tasty i guess due to lack of sauce. Besides that, it has lovely and friendly people. Will come back to try to pizzas in the future.

Good wholesome home cooked meals, pure and simple. Great service, down to earth. Love this place. Lots of toppings on your pizza, never go hungry. Even a small pizza with the lot satisfies the greatest hunger with the wholesome ingredients, at a very reasonable price. Goes down great with a Peroni as well. Open late for when you need a feed towards the end of a long night at the office, never fails to disappoint. Highly recommended.

Im a big fan of Patony's, it just has this old school cosy atmosphere to it that makes you want to hang around after your meal, or if you're sitting outside right amongst the hustle and bustle of the street. The Patony's special is a must here, as with any traditional pizza that I order it must have green capsicum on it!!! These guys do it so well and the salt levels of the pizza aren't too high while still being flavoursome!

Good location on Clarendon St near Coventry St. Ordered a large mushroom pizza and substituted garlic with olives and it was really tasty. Lots of toppings and good size for two people for about $15. Comes in four different sizes and reasonable prices. Very fast service and friendly.

I love Clarendon St Sth Melb, can’t tell you why l just do. I normally head there for a coffee at the old paper cafe. Every time l have walked past Patony’s Pizza😊the smell always took me to the leaning tower of Pisa for some reason. I decided to venture in alone and enjoy a Patony Pizza. OMG Perfect, the base was perfect thickness with an amazing taste. The ham was awesome it was so flavoursome and meaty, l had a Hawaiian so the pineapples are the maker or breaker. They where a MAKER😊fantastic cheese and cooked to perfection. A nice friendly Pizza shop with lovely staff, l had a rather pleasant time all alone eating my pizza😃WOW the pizza had also been cut thru, makes a big difference.

Never again!! Very busy place, meals came out all in a rush and just hastily put in front of us. Wait staff told us what each order was as they turned and walked away. Plain eaters beware, I requested grilled chicken and vegetables. Didn’t ask for a sauce but lemon and herb appeared on my meal. Let’s just say the lemon overpowered everything including the vegetables. I left most of it. A fiend had the risotto and only had about 1/2 the meal as it too wasn’t very nice.

Was so excited to have a Saturday cheat meal and Patony had a 4.2 rating on google. Delivery was quick and it smelt great!!! Was so excited but the excitement ended with the first bite. Below average pizza not sure who is writing these reviews. The seafood on the marinara smelt bad and I'm nursing a bad stomach!! We had a few slices to see if it got better but no such luck! I've had better pizzas out the front of kebab shops at 4am after a night out. I wish I could rewind!

Want a hearty pizza but want to try out different styles as well? This is your place to be. Went there on a Sunday night and the place was wafting with yummy aromas. We ordered the half-n-half vegetarian and mexicana (hot) family size pizza. We thought it would not be able to handle a hungry trio, so a vegetarian risotto as well. Boy, we were so wrong.. family size here means Family Size. Had to get the risotto parcelled. Yummy pizza, with loads of stuff. Also, while checking out we saw the chef making chicken pizza - so much good stuff happening 😘 Will be back with a bigger group. Thanks for a yummy dinner.

Now, it should be noted that all I've had is their pepperoni pizza. But Patony's pepperoni pizza is the best I've had in Melbourne so far. New York style all around- thin crust, balanced bread/sauce/cheese ratio, and a generous helping of pepperoni without going overboard. If gourmet, thick crust, overflowing with toppings Aussie pizza isn't your thing, this is the place to go! Also major points for staying open til midnight. Can't wait to go back!

We ordered pizza via the zomato app. We read the reviews and made the call. We ordered the combo 2 pizzas, garlic bread and a 1.5l soft drink. The mexican pizza & Hawaiian pizza were good, the crust was thin with lots of toppings.

Very good pizza, fast delivery and always pleasant to deal with. Volcano is a good choice. Not gourmet style but yummy style. Pizza and a movie pizza. Edit: 3 weeks running we have had the patony special, so good, nice staff and still fast, upgraded the rating, consistency is amazing.

Great old fashioned pizza and pasta place. Two 8 yr olds had a small pizza each and hubby had a mushroom pizza. They don't skimp on the toppings! I had lasagne and it was yummy. Huge serve! Thanks very much!

I cannot say this is a great pizza but it is a good Aussie style pizza. We come here with the boys once a week for a catch up and the food is always fast as well as the service. It has become an institution on Clarendon street and I would reccommend to come here to experience a true blue aussie pizza 🍕

Ordered 2x pizzas (1x bbq chicken and 1x Patony special) for delivery a couple of days ago. Was told it would be 45 minutes wait. After waiting 55 minutes, I called them to follow up and got told the pizza driver had already left and was on his way. Since we are just a 5 minute drive and they said the driver had already left, when the pizza didn't come in another 10 minutes I rang up again and was told they would follow up and call back. 5 more minutes passed, and we still hadn't heard from Patony's. I rang yet again, to cancel the order altogether, but was told to stay on the phone as they discussed what had happened. We were finally told he would be with us in 2 minutes. Pizza arrived 5 minutes later. Instead of 45 minutes it took 80 minutes- an hour and 20 minutes for 2 pizzas. We were charged the standard $3.00 delivery fee and no mention of how they would make up for the wait. Finally, starving, we got into the pizzas. They were soggy and the bbq chicken pizza only got 1/4 eaten as the chicken tasted off. Very disappointing.

The best pizza I have ever had in Melbourne. It is not a fancy restaurant so if you are looking for a romantic place this may not be the place but the pizza is unbelievably good. The staff are super friendly and kind. Cannot recommend this place more. Can't wait for next time

Maybe it was the chocolate i got into my owners left out, or maybe it was this pizza. But i was sick in the stomach after eating from here. Crusts were thin, salami was burnt and there was an revolting amount of oil just dripping off each piece. Not the worst pizza I've had - but certainly not the best. Would only eat from here again if i was blind, deaf and lost my sense of appetite - all whilst tripping on Peyote in the middle of a food stricken desert.

The New Fave

Every suburb needs a family-run-type, traditional pizza joint and for South Melbourne, this is none other than Patony Pizza. Offering both take away and eat in options, it's the type of place which would draw in families and regulars - a no frills kind of place offering up hearty pizza and pastas at a reasonable price. It does, however, offer outdoor seating which is an appealing draw card on a warm summer's night.

Great old-skool pizza at a good price point. Not too much cheese to make it oily, but not so little that it's dry. Crust was cooked though and the right balance of thick and thin. It's not fancy wood-fired pizza and it's not trying to be. I really enjoyed it.

I guess most of the negative comments are from people who are programmed to the 'gourmet' school of pizza nowadays. This is not D.O.C. or 400 Gradi. There is no red carpet, no snobby wait staff and no champagne. Patonys is a family owned pizzeria which reminds you of those old school pizza places from the past. The pizzas are great. The crusts are crispy and not overdone and the toppings are generous, very generous. The mexicana is full of flavour and capricciosa is one our faves. The service is simple yet friendly. You're in and out in no time at all with no fuss and home delivery is usually quick too. If you want traditional (and I mean old school originals when I say traditional) pizzas, give them a go. If you want eggplant, truffle or asparagus on your pizzas, then this place isn't for you.

I had read some negative reviews of this place so hadn't tried it for a while despite being a local but today I did encouraged by the fact that it is normally pretty busy and I was pleasantly surprised. The service was friendly and the medium seafood pizza I had had lots of prawns and some other things, was cooked well and wasn't too salty. Best of all it was only $13.50. Other places, esp. in Albert Park charge more for an inferior product. I will try them again!

The restaurant itself has been there for many many years and appears to be maintained in a reasonable condition. Indoor and outdoor seating is available for smokers and non smokers alike. It feels to be more like a take away or quick meal restaurant with lots of people coming in and out. Ordering and paying at the counter, food is brought out to us when it’s ready with a relatively short wait. The staff don’t say much but I don’t mind it as long as there are no issues with the food.

Sloppy and just all wrong. I used to go there 20 years ago after clubbing and since it's still there, thought I'd do the same after a big night out. The Pizza was oily, the bread was soggy and the service was arrogant at best. Do not eat at this place.

Thin-crust factory. I was impressed to see how many pizza crusts Patony had lined up, smeared with sauce and ready to go when I rocked up for a takeaway pie one Saturday night. There must have been 50. The bloke who was topping them while I waited for mine seemed to be laying heavy lashings of ham and other ingredients on each. Maybe I caught him doing a batch of "with the lot" or "extra this," but it looked more generous than most pizzerias I've observed. I've been going for anchovy and black olive pizzas for the past year. I like bold flavours like that. Patony has one called the Volcano with the former, plus spicy salami and splashes of hot sauce. (It tasted like Tapatia or some Mexican sauce -- fine by me!) It went fine with some cheap raw Cab-Shiraz cleanskin. The crust is thin Neapolitan style. It's not as crackery-crispy as _________ down the street. You still need to crease each slice when you pick it up so it doesn't flop flaccidly. There's a good texture and "00-farina" flavour to it. Beats Pizza Hut down Clarendon to the west, that's fer sher.

Very bad customer service. Placed a delivery on the phone - the lady who answered was very rude and spoke over me. My order took over an hour to deliver. When I called to ask what was happening, and that it had been an hour since I placed my order - I was interrupted and told I placed it 45 minutes ago and the driver was 5 minutes away and hung up on me.
