Had a grouse time at spice market!! Patrick, one of the security guys was very professional and considerate of us when we required his help with something!! So THANK YOU and a big shout out to him!! Would recommended spice market for a night out!
I still give this place 5 stars even though I’m banned from it and a lot of other bars in the city for 500 days. I reckon I’ve got maybe 250-300 days until the ban is completely dropped. Fun place with friends.
I absolutely love Spice Temple for its stunning interiors. It’s a really impressive venue and you get a good mix of patrons of all ages inside. I’ve also come across a c grade celebrity or two in my time. A busy bar makes it a struggle to be served but drinks are swiftly mixed when you make it to the front.
The ambiance here is so luxe I even considered it for my engagement party venue, definitely worth checking out the function rooms if you have an upcoming special event
Spice market in CBD. Good place for the Xmas party. Venue can be booked for private party. Definitely a great place to party and they also serve good party food.
Really nicely decorated place for Friday night drinks or an event place. It's hidden and once you go in, wow it's a big amazing place. The drinks are good here too.
A bar with a very cool vibe.. a great place to come for afterwork drinks.. we dropped by after dinner about 8pm on a Friday and was surprised that they had specials on for drinks till about 9pm.. pretty busy but this place is quite spacious so it wasn’t hard to find a spot to stand or sit.. the waitresses here were pretty quick to jump on you to ask you for drinks (I am assuming they get some form of incentives)..
Points for: Happy Hour specials, open space
Spice Market has been around for ages and has longevity for a few good reasons.
Heading down the stairs, it opens to a huge open area with multiple sitting and standing configurations.
With $6 basics, it's a great venue for after work drinks - stay past 9PM and the venue will turn up the music and transform into club mode.
Thursday nights are ladies night, and all ladies who sign up get a $55 drink card after 8PM. It's structured a bit complicated so better check the website.
Understand the nights, the dress code, the mixed crowd and go with a couple friends, you'll have a decent time.
Been a regular to this place over the years, and enjoy its unique 'asian-fusion' style of decor and dance music. Have attended with Meetups, they are looked after with a separate section and free nibbles. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Spice market had been a go to place to impress those out of townies for some time now and most recently when some interstate guests arrived from Queensland we had to pay this cool venue a visit. Tucked down a laneway, down a flight of stairs, impressive entrance and well presented bar area. Drinks don't come cheap but they do have a range of drink specials and I for one am happy to pay a little extra for the ambiance that this place exudes. Cocktails are well prepared. Table service is ok but can take a while during busy times and I'm more comfortable with ordering from the bar anyway. I've never had food here as it's always been my Pre dinner drink venue.
Awesome place for catch up with friends. No cover charges is the key highlight for this venue. Another spot to hang out after dinner on Fridays.
First of all, i must say stunning venue. WOW! It's beautifully decorated. I loved it. We went for drinks and snacks. It was a pleasant experience. The waitress was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Explained and answered questions and queries. I will definitely go back for drinks and recommend it to everyone.
Love the Thursday ladies night specials. For girls if you get in at 8pm you pay $10 and get 5 free drinks, 9pm 4 free drinks, 10pm 3 free drinks and so on so forth. Try to get in before 9:30 if you don't wanna queue at the bar and wait for your drinks! The crowd is okay. Bouncers aren't that mean. Haven't tried the food there before but might give it a go next time if we get there early :)
Bring back the Yum Cha mid-week special!. Went here for the Yum Cha special on Wednesday evenings quite regularly when they had it. It was approx $30 and all you can eat for 2 hours tapas style. They bring them out in courses but if you want more of a particular dish/course the chef would make more for you! It was the most amazing idea ever and was shattered when they ceased the offer. You also had the option to pay an extra $25 for all you could drink for the two hours. Please bring it back and I will return at least once per month!
Very good when Michael Jackson started dancing, pretty sure he was dead at the time.

Fabulous. Incredible cocktails, gorgeous atmosphere, would go again.
Went for a 45 dollar food drinks nihht and I left full and drunk! they kept bringing out food and drinks were flowing. only downfall is that I hate beer and wine and that came around a lot! but other than that would definitely go again
Great night out. Thanks to all staff at the spice market particularly Nereem at the front door, your respect and attention to our needs on the night deserves to be congratulated, you are a true gentleman. Our function consisted of 35 guests in one of the special rooms, each one of our guests were individually ushered by a lovely hostess to an amazing setup, our waitresses for the night also need to be thanked for doing a wonderful job. Thanks to all from the people who took the booking to those on the floor that night, all our guests had a very memorable evening. Good job, keep up the good work. Dress appropriately if you want to get in, you've got to maintain some kind of standard in dress code, I think that's fair.
On looks alone this place is quality. The interior is decked out in an Eastern vibe and there is heaps of private booths available. Went on a Friday night and it wasnt as good as I was expecting but still not bad.
Kat. Had a great night out with ten friends at the Spice Market after the Melbourne Cup. Rocked up at 7pm - very small queue to get in and no worries with the door staff. One of the guys was wearing nice jeans and another sneakers with his suit and they both got in no worries. Very beautiful decorated inside and really good music. Everyone was chilling on the couches or dancing and there was no teeny boppers in sight. Great atmosphere, we'll be back!
Funky subterranean space, with greetings by faux miniature terra-cotta warriors and a gauntlet of Cambodian nippled goddesses. Food was solid, cocktails were particularly fine, and the comfy velvet couch in the Shanghai Lounge was intimate yet resplendent with atmosphere. Definite must do.
Great place to impress. Always bring my overseas friends or collegues here for drinks. Never fail to impress with the range they stock. Only one fore par was when a friend had this bird fobia but luckily all the bird cages had no birds in them but she started scratching herself shortly after.
Clubby. Nice decor and a good layout. Drink prices are pretty high but it's to be expected for a place of this "class". Seemed like a good crowd as well. Good spot to have a few (not so quiet) drinks before dinner or heading out.
Great decor and the bar staff are extremely passionate about mixing drinks. Door staff are however are quite snoody.
