Named after a humble mother who’s love of authentic Vietnamese cuisine has been brought to Melbourne Cô Hạnh delights Melbournians with home style Vietnamese cuisine made from traditional family recipes passed on and serving the way it is meant to be.
Staff were a little distracted and it took a while for them to take our order, clear the table etc. The food however was fantastic. Can't fault it. We loved every single dish. They are reasonably priced as well. We especially loved the rare beef and the soft shell crab bao. The dishes were well presented, full of flavour and used fresh and good quality ingredients. It has a bar vibe, with very close seating and loud music playing. I wouldn't recommend it for families with young kids or for couples looking for a chance to talk and connect, but for a group of friends or a casual dinner outing- its GREAT!!!
Such a cute design inside, perfect place for instagram photos of that is your thing ! Nice staff and the banana pudding is to die for was amazing
Co Hanh is a modern Vietnamese restaurant and the chef definitely knows flavour! A mention must be made to the Hanoi Spring Rolls, the chargrilled eggplant and the banana pudding. Outstanding dishes in my mind. If you are wanting to feel like your back in Vietnam, a Co Hanh visit is a must. 😋😍 The only negative, is that the seating is too jammed in and therefore your elbows can touch the person sitting next to you if you’re in a table for two. They need to remove three tables for a bit of space.
We visited Co Hanh on a Friday night and it was super busy. Luckily we made a booking via TheFork (50% off) so they had a table reserved for us for 90 minutes.
We started off with the Hanoi Spring Rolls, which were really delicious. I loved the wood ear mushrooms which gave a nice umami flavour. The outside was flaky and crispy. I only wish that they would serve more lettuce with the spring rolls as there wasn’t enough for all 6 pieces.
The Co Hanh Signature Fried Chicken was a table favourite. We got the original flavour which was recommended in 10 pieces, which came with 5 wings and 5 drumsticks. It was simple, flavourful and delicious.
Next was the Baos. We got both Soft Shell Crab and Tempura Eggplant. Each came in a super fluffy charcoal bun, which was delicious on it’s own. The tempura eggplant was my favourite of the two as it was crispy on the outside yet juicy and moist on the inside.
The Sticky Lamb Ribs were incredible, and definitely one of the top picks of the night. The lamb ribs were so tender and fatty, and had a nice char. Super filling but super delicious.
The Vietnamese Pancake was very unique as it was thicker, denser and more filling than your regular Banh Xeo. It’s crispy on the edges, but soft and chewy in the middle. I really enjoyed the flavours, especially paired with the sweet and sour dipping sauce.
The Butterfly Tamarind Prawns were pretty nice too. They were sweet, tart, and nicely charred. However, it wasn’t too special.
Finally was the Co Hanh’s Special Fried Rice. By the time we got to it we were too full, so we ended up taking it away. It was very delicious though and perfect for a quick meal.
Overall, we had a fantastic time at Co Hanh. We were even happier because of our 50% discount which made our meal super value for money.
I will come back again and again for the cauliflower ragu. Cauliflower is limited, but the silken tofu topped with an eggplant ragu is amazing.
The beef rib, despite looking small, shreds to a ok amount.
Sizes are small, compared to description (large plates aren't too large), but the flavours are great - semi fusion (plating and accompanied items).
I recommend highly.

🌿 Co Hanh prides itself for being a new school Vietnamese eatery, which blends their grandmother’s recipe with other popular asian flavours. 🍸we started off with cocktails. A combination of watermelon soju and gin (soju boy) caught my eye, and I enjoyed it immensely - they were not too diluted. The cute watermelon haribo snacks were a bonus! My partner’s lager was also refreshing and he enjoyed it so much that he got another one (despite drinks being excluded from the fork offer).🍗 Highlights in our meal were the crunchy fried chicken and the Hanoi spring rolls (tasted a bit of mushroom alongside the mince pork fillings which was great). The curry sauce that accompanied was not as spicy as we had hoped, but went well with the spring roll pancake. 🆗The pork belly was a bit of a let down. There was insufficient flavours that went with the meat, so much so that we used the spring roll pancake curry to go with it. I loved the additional salad on my bahn xeo, but thought the batter wasn’t as crispy and delicious. Personally, I also preferred the traditionally made Vietnamese pancake and it’s probably my fault for ordering this at a fusion place! Having said that, I must say that this place has very affordable pricing for a cbd restaurant. With a 50% discount, my meal came down to an astonishing $40. Drinks were also $10 each (and they offer happy hour cocktails!). Amazing stuff! *Taste: ⭐️⭐️⭐️Ambience: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Presentation: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Price: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Fun spot down Flinders Lane serving modern Vietnamese - really great cocktails. We tried a lot of dishes from the menu. Have to say am a big fan of the chicken, the pork belly, the baos, ribs and prawns. Dessert was also absolutely delicious - the staff are so friendly and lovely!
Team lunch at Co Hanh. I had the grilled pork bell noodle bowl which was refreshing and zingy but could have used a bit more protein to even it all out.
Menu looks tasty so I'll definitely be back, music is a little loud though
A variety of contemporary Vietnamese dishes served up in a modern and funky atmosphere.
Bone marrow: Must-try for the flavour and texture, so so good
Vermicelli with spring rolls & chargrilled pork belly: Loved the crispy Hanoi spring rolls, everything else was fresh and tasty, I think adding pork belly was a bit overkill
Salted egg fried broccoli: Sounded great but were a bit bland, I couldn't really make out any salted egg flavour
Lamb ribs: Good, though the apple salad was very salty
I noticed how appetising their cocktail menu was, maybe next time :)
Cô Hạnh is a Vietnamese based venue that is named after a humble mother who was a huge fan of the Vietnamese cuisine. And that passion was so big that she decided to bring to Melbourne some of its wonderful foods to this multicultural city with a modern and bold twist.
They are located in the CBD, in a very convenient location and they have an all day menu and a BBQ menu with meat and seafood options that sound quite interesting!
I went to get some complimentary baos that I had won/locked in with the EatClub App and when I arrived at the venue around 6pm it was fairly busy! They came to me very fast and attended the request for the steamed charcoal baos.
Unfortunately they told me they had run out of the black baos and only had the white ‘normal’ ones, which was a pity because that was the exact reason why I had gone 🤷♀️😂 I have never seen another place with black baos and would have been interesting to see how it would have been.
Anyway, they were doing tempura eggplant baos (although they also have the option of crispy soft shell crab) and the baos came nicely presented and very appetising! They were of good size and with a slice of tempura eggplant in the middle along with some salad and lemongrass mayo. I found they lacked a little bit of flavour (as both the eggplant and salad don’t have much) and personally I think that a little more mayo wouldn’t hurt ☺️
It was a nice little treat and I wouldn’t mind trying some of the other items on the menu as it certainly sounds promising and a popular place!
Visited Co Hanh over the weekend and we really enjoyed our meal. We booked via the fork and got the 50% off offer
There was a good variety on the menu and we ordered a few entrees and mains to share.
The highlight for me has got to be the bone marrow and lamb ribs. They were cooked to perfection and the flounder was good too.
The service is good and the staff is attentive. Will definitely return back to try the other items on the menu
Great meal in the same vein as Rice Paper Scissors as in it’s modern south East Asian fusion. Vietnamese curry with roti was a fantastic start. Charred bone marrow was amazing although the stale bread served with it was a let down. Salted egg brocolli rocked our world and arteries! The short beef ribs were juicy and full of flavour while the Vietnamese pancake was amazing. The panacotta with granita for dessert was up there with Supernormal dessert quality!
Feed-me menus are becoming more and more popular and @co_hanh has made their mark! We had an incredible Vietnamese feed-me dinner $35, with such a wide range of dishes like the special fried rice - packed with flavour, and the signature fried chicken - crispy, spicy, delicious! We had whole roasted flounder with meat that just fell off the bones, but the highlight was the charred bone marrow - if you’ve never tried it, it’s an absolute must try! Creamy, buttery and rich, you won’t regret it! We had the perfect ending with the banana pudding and it was one of the best we’ve ever had. It’s a must order!
Fantastic kind service from the staff, that deserves a 5/5 in itself!
Background music is so chill and relaxing, lighting inside is relaxing.
Food was 5/5 of course!
Would I come here again? YES
Would I recommend this to a friend? YES

We were taken through a tasting of their new menu. Highlights included their sweet and sticky Signature Fried Chicken, Beef Carpaccio, melt-in-the-mouth Beef Short Rib
We popped down to Co Hanh to try out their feed me menu. The pork belly was divine and couldn't get enough of their cocktails! Recommended to pop by and try it out if you're in the cbd area 😊
We came to Co Anh for a dinner tasting and got to sample a huge variety for delicious fusion dishes, some highlights included the chicken wings, Vietnamese beef tartare (similar to a rare beef salad), bbq prawns, bahn xeo and the sticky lamb ribs. The absolute standout dish however was the bbq prawns, they were cooked to absolute perfection and although I was so full I managed to squeeze them in.
Thanks so much for having us!
Sensational flavours in the pho, good balance of broth and meat. Lovely condiments on the side. Spring rolls were fresh and crunchy. Punctual service, delivered with grace, speed and a warm smile.
Zomato gold customer, will definitely be coming back, bringing my colleagues and friends!
🙏🏼💚🙏🏼
Went here spur of the moment for a light dinner the other night and was very pleasantly surprised. The space is cosy and cool and offers a contemporary spin on (predominantly) Vietnamese fare. My partner and I shared the crispy tofu noodle bowl which was light and fresh and very veggie heavy. We also tried the eggplant, topped with an assortment of crunchy elements and served in a bed of spring onion oil and shiso. We rounded everything out with even more spring onion by way of the delicious pancake with peanut sauce. Every bite was delicious and every item I was tempted by but didn't order sounds just as good. Can't wait to go back for the salted egg broccoli and cauliflower ragu.
Just wow, is all I can say. I was completely blown away by everything about my dining experience at Co Hanh. This new Vietnamese bbq restaurant in the heart of the city is producing flavour bombs in a really cool space. Modern furnishings and touches of neon make for a fun atmosphere, and the amazing staff are so lovely, friendly and helpful. We felt completely at home here, and absolutely enjoyed the environment.
Starting with some fabulous cocktails, we took in our surroundings and the happy diners around us; and before too long our feast arrived. So much amazing food, all with plenty of spice and flavour. We sampled an assortment of dishes from the menu, and weren't disappointed with any of them.
Our dishes included fried eggplant bao, spicy chicken wings, tofu skewers, a Vietnamese beef tartare, BBQ prawns, sticky lamb ribs, crispy pork belly, seafood pancake, spiced beef and cauliflower. Although everything was sensational, the standout dishes for me were the eggplant bao, tofu, beef tartare and lamb ribs. It was all seriously amazing, and I couldn't fault any of the dishes. Everything was well balanced with so much flavour. All the meats were tender, and vegetables were fresh and crispy.
Co Hanh definitely has a fun and funky edge, and it's clear that the owners want their patrons to have an amazing time. With such fantastic service, delicious food, brilliant cocktails and cool ambience; this shouldn't be a problem.
Wow - just wow! The food here was absolutely delicious and we were really quite impressed. The big winners for us were the shaking tofu, eggplant bao, pho beef short ribs, and the pandan creme brulee. I can't wait to go back again soon! Do yourself a favour and go have a meal here (and a cocktail while you're at it!).
Co Hanh is pushing the Vietnamese bbq experience, which is missing in Melbourne.
However, as my office is closeby, I mostly have lunch dishes:
* Pork Chop Broken Rice - pretty decent dish with all the elements except for the shredded pork skin. The pork loaf is tasty, the pork chop is well marinated and the dressing is light on.
* Crispy Fried Chicken - a popular dish, the chicken has crispy skin and moist meat.
* Roast Pork Woven Vermicelli – nice thick cut roast pork with crisp crackling. This dish is meant to be wrapped up with lettuce, mint, vermicelli and dipped into the fish sauce (which is a bit more concentrated than I’m used to).
I like how Vietnamese cuisine has been around in Melbourne forever, but the popularity is still strong, especially with Co Hanh bringing it into modernity along with properly made cocktails.
Nice taste of modern Vietnamese.
All dishes were great. Staff were kind and friendly. Totally recommended for casual dining!
Dishes in the photos:
Chicken wings
Spring roles
Spicy pho
Some noodle to share..
Co Hanh is located in a really convenient spot in the middle of the city. We had the pork chop broken rice and shaking beef rice. The shaking beef was super tasty! It was really juicy and well seasoned! The broken rice was also quite nice. Can’t believe this place is also doing Zomato Gold. Will be coming back here regularly!
Situated in the heart of the CBD, Co Hanh is a great spot for a quick Vietnamese inspired lunch. While the execution may not be strictly authentic, the flavours were definitely on point and the dishes were certainly enjoyable.
This is the first time we tried Vietnamese BBQ in Australia and what a great experience it was. Place can get a little smoky but it's worth it. We ordered the meat and seafood banquets for 4 of us and it was plenty. We get some charcoal rice paper and get to make our own roll with it. Place can fit maybe around 40 people so you get that intimate vibe.
One of my favourite lunch spots during the work week. Great service, incredibly friendly and efficient staff, and delicious meals. My favourites are the spicy noodle soup (bbh, not too spicy), any of their vermicelli noodle salads and the Hanoi spring rolls. But really everything I’ve tried here is delicious - you really can’t go wrong at Co Hanh!
We dined at Co Hanh last night. Loved the decor and vibe.
Staff were very friendly service prompt. We didn't wait long after we ordered for our meal.
We ordered the Vietnamese Pancake which was so fluffy and jam packed full of flavour (Not the traditional pancake which is flat) . We also went for the Vietnamese Bbq Half Seafood Half Meat. The seafood cooked on the bbq was absolutely delicious, the meat also marinated well to enhance the flavour.
If you do visit be sure to order one of their cocktails!
Me and my friend had pho, spicy pho and chicken wings.
The phos were not those of traditional, but was more of modern fusion style. But it was fragrant and nice.
And chicken wings are THE BEST ive ever had in melbourne. The sauce was awesome - it has Vietnamese twist into it - and it was veryvery crispy. Finger lickin good.
Staff members were very attentive and friendly.
Thanks for amazing experience.
Will definitely be back!!!
This beautiful little restaurant located along little Collins street.. We came here for lunch one day and decided to try their grilled pork on broken rice and cauliflower & eggplant mince.. this Vietnamese restaurant looked pretty modern from the on set.. Overall the food was decent and presentation was also pretty modern...
Good experience and might just come back to try some of their other offerings..
They provided great Service and yummy food. Highly Recommended! I will be back for SuRE. Used Zomato gold's deal and absolutely love it!!!!!
Absolutely love the food here! We ordered co hanh special fried rice and spicy noodle soup - bbh. There was so much flavours! The pork belly which was an extra to the bbh was so delicious and the soup was so addictive that I almost drank all of it! The fried rice was really special, there was a lot elements to it such as Vietnamese sausage, chicken skin, tobiko and veggies. Definitely coming back, but this time to try their pho hotpot 🙂
Having started a new job nearby, I've dropped by for lunch a couple of times and have found the service friendly and the food tasty. Highlights have been the pho and the broken rice.
Co hanh or go home! Cool new viet spot with great dishes all round - it’s a little out of the way and pricy to eat regularly but definitely a great option with a nice venue. Loved the buns with spring rolls in the previous menu - pls bring that back! The ribs in the new menu is great 😋
Rating: 3.5 - 4
- Rice paper rolls: portion was good but it was not rolled very tightly so when I bite into it, the fillings fell everywhere. I don't know for sure if this dish meant to have 3 different types of rice paper because they're in different colours but they tasted the same. The meat was quite dry if I'm being honest which is a shame.
- Beef combination pho: broth was flavourful and light at first but then at the end it tasted super salty for some reasons so I'm very confused. Will come back to try it again and see how it goes. The meats (rare beef, beef brisket) were tender and the beef balls were just the normal ones. Noodles were not mushy.
- Vietnamese vermicelli (with pork belly): portion was quite big, pork belly was tender and flavourful. But the fish sauce dressing was quite ordinary which was a letdown because dressing for this dish is fundamental.
- Tea: served in very cute pots but would be better if it comes with matching cups (just a personal preference from a tea lover).
The restaurant is on the pricey side for Vietnamese food but it reflects in the quality of the meat (especially in the pho). Ambience is very cool and casual, nice pun with the restaurant name. Seating wasn't too cramped. Open kitchen so it was interesting to watch the chef cooking. Service was super nice. Staff offered to go through the menu and recommendations with us.
Somewhere around 4 - 4.5 stars. Shared a variety of dishes and all were very good. The Vietnamese coffee flan is exceptional - try it! A particular mention for the quality of the cocktails - they are definitely a few notches above what you would expect. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because it’s a little more expensive than other Vietnamese but given the location in the CBD not unexpected. Will definitely be back.
😱Lizzie’s first impression: i was quickly impressed when there was another modern Vietnamese restaurant opening up in the cbd. This place is small and fills up quickly - the ambience however, is lively and fun.
🍩Lizzie enjoyed: I loved the variety of food that they have. The most notable dishes were the fried chicken glazed with honey - it was simply done perfectly and tasted incredible. I also really enjoyed the fried rice - it’s called the co hanh special fried rice and it’s one of the best ones I’ve had - so crispy and full of flavour.
I really appreciated the service as well - the waiter was not only attentive but quick and remembered our order for 8 people!
🍅Lizzie did not enjoy: although my colleagues found the banh xeo (Vietnamese pancake) really good - coming from a Vietnamese Chinese background, I was quickly disappointed. It was abit flat and they put cabbage in it... not ideal! There was only about two prawns in the whole pancake which I thought was really little.
🥇Lizzie rates overall: a great little place on flinders lane and I’m sure I will be back because I am yet to try the Vietnamese barbecue there!
Nice Flinders lane digs, this place had a lot of people walking by and looking in so it is doing something right! Vietnamese, not necessarily traditional (according to Vietnamese friends) but still everyone had a pretty good meal. Had the pho (huge bowl), very tasty and only request would be to have the rare beef strips not all knotted together like. Had also the pho bao to share, also tasty, apparently better than the crispy pork bao which I didn't taste myself. Lovely staff, very impressed by the service and the atmosphere of the place. Only real issue was bit unclear that is was cider not beer of the brand my co-workers wanted
Wow, so this was very unexpected. Came here for an after work catch up and I'm very very impressed with the service, drinks and the food. If you like Vietnamese flavours is highly recommend it.
Friday night dinner.
I would expect this place to be a little busier on a Friday night! There were 7 of us. We had booked however, there was loads of space.
We all ordered different dishes. They took quite a while to come even though there were only 2 other tables. I’m talking a 30 minute wait. They also forgot about our drinks and one of the dishes. I know this place is new but when it’s not busy there should let be room for slip up or late food. Which also came out at different times there was probably about a 15 minute gap between the first and the last dish.
When the food did arrive everyone seemed to very much enjoy it. The portions were of good size and flavour. I had the chicken pho it was a huge bowl full of noodles, big chunks of chicken and a warm broth. I really enjoyed it.
Friendly but slow service. Good good.
7/10
This place has become my newest bbq favorite. If u're a fan of Korean Bbq but love Vietnamese food at the same time, u must try this. This is vietnamese food bbq style, wrapped in a lot of salad and fresh herbs and our traditional rice noodles. $32 per person for meat / seafood bbq set with 4 types of meat / seafood. But I do recommend my fav: seafood and meat bbq set for $38 per person in which u can choose 3 types of meat and 3 types of seafoods. That u can have a bit of both if u re like me want to try everything ;). All bbq set goes with rice paper rolls, heaps of salad and fresh herbs and different sauces for meat/seafood. The meat are very tasty, recommend the pork, beef and nem nuong. Recommend for seafood is the sugar cane shrimp, scallops and prawns are also good, squid is a so so.
Staff are very friendly, they will instruct and demo if u re not familiar with rolling a rice paper roll, so dont be nervous to try :D
Cocktails and mocktails i found quite expensive, i tried the coconut mocktail once and i didn't impress me. Although they do have chicken and beer, i haven't tried any of their a la carte menu yet.
Wow, just wow! The crispy chicken with red rice was amazing! The best one I’ve had yet. I went home thinking about the chicken all night wanting more. Enough said.
A funky cool new place on Flinders Lane. I mean who knew that Vietnamese BBQ was a thing. A great cocktail menu to choose from along with a BBQ banquet the half seafood/half meat was a great option. The staff here were exceptional and offered personable service. It was a lot of food so make sure you're hungry. Seafood/meat prepared with good sauces. DIY rice water rolls a great addition and a good dessert to finish it off 👌
Note that thefo0die.com rating is a 4.5 but in Zomato's rating system, it is closer to a 4.
Fo0die dined as a guest of Co Hanh and as such, the rating does not give any consideration to customer service.
At the time we visited, the venue was only 3 weeks old, having opened since the start of February 2019. Offering traditional Vietnamese food as well as a modern twist. What do we mean by modern twist? Vietnamese BBQ and 4 types of fried chicken wings with jug of drinks (which was yet to be launched when we dined and should have launched by now).
New Vietnamese eatery in town with a modern interior as well as cooking stations for Vietnamese BBQ (I literally just had this at home the other week). The owner himself is from Springvale so I expected the menu to be close to authentic. We came here during lunch for your regular Vietnamese fare.
I get their banh xeo, the crepe itself was perfect and remained crispy throughout. The filing was your standard pork, prawn and bean shoots as well as red cabbage (haven't seen that before but it gave it a nice crunch). If I had to nitpick it would be the size of the banh xeo, I can eat two of these for dinner, at some restaurants just one large one. A little extra batter and filing goes a long way. Secondly is the herbs given, you can tell in the picture that's enough for one lettuce wrap (if you eat banh xeo as a wrap). Pickles were generous however.
While I am giving feedback their thit kho looked deadly. I didn't have it but it was really fatty, I'm sure some people like myself (to an extent) are into that. Some pickles and/or freshly cut cucumber on the side would help break up the saltiness and fattiness of the dish.
For the most part execution on the food was good and resulted in a tasty meal. All the feedback is manageable and doesn't break up their formula, I'd love to see a fellow local perfect his dishes. It is a markup from the suburbs but hey, it's the CBD. Can't think of another CBD Vietnamese eatery that does it better.
I’ve tried many BBQ restaurants in Melbourne but I’ve never had Vietnamese BBQ cooked in front of you before until I visited Co Hanh. Right in the centre of Melbourne CBD and newly opened, the interior decor was so pretty! Their meat is marinated perfectly and my favourite was their Nem nướng (Vietnamese grilled pork sausage) After you cook the meat, you wrap it in their beetroot rice paper rolls with some fresh salads and then just dip in their delicious homemade sauce. We also tried the fritters and flan and wow the coconut ice cream blew us away! a must visit if you havent been. Next time we’ll come try the lunch menu instead :)
One of the best Vietnamese BBQ dining experience. The fact that there’s a built-in bbq on the table and cooking in front of us makes it exciting and fun (and the staff are more than happy to cook for you if you just want to relax and enjoy the food).
We got the Marinated Meat Banquet which comes with beef scotch fillet, lamb chops, pork belly, nem nuong, pickled veggies, fine woven vermicelli, rice paper, lettuce and some side dishes. In addition to that, we also ordered the Coffee caramel flan and the Battered banana fritters to share for dessert.
I got to say that Nem nuong (seasoned sweet caramelised pork) is my favourite, it was so flavourful. The BBQ meat were all well marinated and very tender, thank you to our waitress, Kristy for cooking them perfectly.
Co Hanh is pretty much similar to Korean BBQ, only with Vietnamese food. So if you’re a fan of KBBQ, give this place a try!
Great environment and well decorated, service was right on. Food was good with downside to portion sizes given the prices. I understand that city rent is expensive but not to this extent. Not really a baby friendly place but overall a great eat out.
Finally a Vietnamese restaurant that is different from this usual type of cuisine. Co Hanh has brought together tasty varieties of street food items as well as hearty comfort food to satisfy your tastebuds. The most welcomed addition is the Vietnamese BBQ!
Having been here a few times now, I've been able to sample quite a variety of dishes. I must say the Hanoi spring rolls are a must as a starter, the crispy calamari is great, especially accompanied by an ice cold beer! The sticky chicken wings are a secret home recipe which you must try on your first visit.
The more hearty dishes such as the shaking beef (cóm bò lúc lác) and the braised spice pork belly (thįt kho) are delicious and are great as a shared plate or even a standalone lunch dish. If you want something lighter and fresh have the Vietnamese pancakes (banh xeo).
For the Vietnamese BBQ we had both seafood and meat platters (as there were a number of us that are big eaters). The produce is fresh and marinades are on point. Also making your own rice paper rolls adds fun to the casual and very friendly dining experience Co Hanh achieves. Definitely book if you're looking to BBQ!!
All in all, Co Hanh is a great addition to the corporate sector of Melbourne's CBD. There's still a lot of the menu I have yet to taste, but I'm more than happy to come back and try it all. Great job guys!
Bustling new Viet restaurant in the CBD. The place has an open kitchen and offers Viet bbq and traditional Vietnamese dishes.
During lunch on a weekday it gets busy. We got there around 12 and luckily got a Yankee before the rush. Service was good, tad slow on bringing out the food but that's understandable with how busy they were.
The banh xeo was great. Thin and crispy with a generous amount of meat and stuffing. The prawns are the small, similar to what you get in marinara mixes. Would have preferred a bit more variety with the herbs than just mint and lettuce too.
The woven vermicelli was very generously portioned. The dish is light and refreshing, ideally you wrap the vermicelli, tofu and herbs in lettuce boats or you can eat it all separately.
Have been here twice - once for the Vietnamese BBQ and another time for just their usual menu. The BBQ was surprisingly nice. We didn't leave smelling like smoke either which was a bonus. Highly recommend the 1/2 meat 1/2 seafood platter to share - it was actually quite a lot of food between 4 people. A favorite dish is hands down their chicken wings! So crispy and the dressing is spot on. Very hard to find a restaurant in the CBD that serves authentic Vietnamese food and Co Hanh comes pretty close. The staff are very friendly and there is a particular waitress who we never got to catch her name was super attentive and so chatty! We'll be back :)
I love Vietnamese food, so I was super excited to try a Vietnamese BBQ! We loved how friendly the staff were, and we had a great young lady who assisted us with cooking our food! We did both the seafood and meat BBQ and trust me it’s a lot of food but it’s absolutely incredible watching your food cook and the smell is amazing! We highly recommend visiting this restaurant for either lunch (make sure to book!) or dinner which is close to the middle of the city so easy to head out after!
Been here twice already. Food is wholesome and yummy; flavoursome but not over the top. All the mains I’ve tried have been delicious (spicy beef noodle, broken rice, pork belly). Favourite entree is definitely the calamari! BUT the banana fritters are my favourite - the coconut ice cream that it comes with is divine!
Came here last week and the food was authentic and amazing. Ordered that many dishes between my friend and I and we thoroughly enjoyed every meal. I especially loved the roast pork. Will definitely be back!
Co Hanh is a Vietnamese restaurant that serves traditional home styled cooking within a modern and trendy environment. I’ve eaten here many times since they’re opened and find the majority of the menu items really good.
For lunch options they serve your transitional Pho, Spicy Noodle soups and rice dishes that taste just like what you will get in Vietnam.
Whilst for the dinner menu, they offer a unique concept serving Vietnamese BBQ and tasty cocktails.
I’ve had the meat platter there, where you can grill your own meat and roll your own rice paper rolls. Hands down tastiest BBQ meal I’ve had in a while.

Dining at Co Hanh was such an amazing experience for us. They do various Vietnamese dishes and BBQ. This is first time we have tried a Viet BBQ in Melbourne and gosh we regret not having tried it before this. They have got a korean style bbq setup with charcoal which made the meat have that charcoal taste. We had both the seafood and meat banquet. The marinade was amazing, meat was tender, juicy and absolutely delicious. We also had the Hanoi spring rolls, which have different wrap to the traditional ones. They were yummy as well!
They nailed it!
Stage 4 restrictions have been tough... I’ve always liked going out for dinners and have enjoyed all my meals at Cohanh! So happy to hear that they are now doing DIY meals delivered straight to your door. The Cohanh chefs do all the hard work, chopping, preparation and cooking! You just need to finish it off and plate it.
We got the Wine and Dine meal for two which also came with a bottle of Rose 😊 such generous portions for two people. Boyfriend said all the dishes were outstanding! But the one we liked the most was definitely the tamarind pork belly! I could eat that all day everyday! Next up with be the Canadian scallops and chicken red curry.
the perfect meal was then finished up with a delicious Vietnamese flan! ❤️
They’re delivering up to 35kms from the CBD which is great because not all restaurants are delivering to all the outer suburbs of Melbourne.
The food service here was a tad slow, however, the food more then made up for it. We got the $25 lunch deal and it was super good. It includes a starter, a main and a drink which is a great deal. The food was delicious and cooked really well, definitely recommend this place.

First time tried Vietnamese style BBQ. Very interesting and different from other countries. Vietnamese style dipping sauces come with BBQ is very nice and unique. They also provided sping onions oil to enhance BBQ meat flavor which is a very good idea. Love it. Apart from the messy ordering and changing tables at the beginning, also the needs to improve ventilation, food overall are good. My favorite is the lamb and pork in stick. Full of flavor without the needs of sauces. However the pok belly and chicken wasn't good. Pork belly doesn't looks and taste like pork belly cut. It looks like wrong cut, which is not matching with menu. And no flavor. Chicken can taste with marinated, but not strong enough. Also tried salted egg broccoli, which have no salted egg flavor. This restaurant is considered small, inside an alley. Booking is recommended if more than 4 people. Also, must mention BBQ table if prefer BBQ. Very limited BBQ tables at the restaurant. Car parking nearby. Very convenient with public transport.
What you should order: Co Hanh Lager, soju boy, Hanoi spring rolls

🌿 Co Hanh prides itself for being a new school Vietnamese eatery, which blends their grandmother’s recipe with other popular asian flavours.
🍸we started off with cocktails. A combination of watermelon soju and gin (soju boy) caught my eye, and I enjoyed it immensely - they were not too diluted. The cute watermelon haribo snacks were a bonus! My partner’s lager was also refreshing and he enjoyed it so much that he got another one (despite drinks being excluded from the fork offer).
🍗 Highlights in our meal were the crunchy fried chicken and the Hanoi spring rolls (tasted a bit of mushroom alongside the mince pork fillings which was great).
