This small Thai restaurant have a cozy neighborhood-feel kind of restaurant. We ordered the fried fish in their signature sauce and also the massaman curry. The signature sauce was unfortunately more like your average Thai sweet chilli sauce. Massaman curry was good and the beef was soft. Food - 6 Service - 8 Vibe - 8 Price - $$$$

Admittedly we only came here because we left another restaurant nearby that had pet dogs in it, was too loud, etc etc. But sometimes, things happen for a reason and I'm glad we got to try this cute little local gem. It's got a nice ambience to it; the decor is sweet and the music is nice and even the chairs are ultra comfy and vary from table to table. The menu is as you'd expect for Thai, and the service was good. We ordered the Samosas, which really are just curry puffs. These were nice, but just needed a meat option like Chicken, for my liking. There was only vegetable, and I felt like meat was missing for sure. Having said that, the flavour was there and they were nice and hot (temp wise). The other entree my friend ordered was the chicken spring rolls which were lovely. Now the only issue with these two items, is that they come in two's. Most other restaurants have them in fours. We switched one out with each other, so we got one of each, but it left us kind of longing for more ... The main came out in good time and it was really nice. Nowhere near the best I've ever had, but they tried to put some effort into the presentation and it looked pretty. It was Chicken Fried Rice and if you have a Thai craving, it definitely scratched an itch. We didn't order dessert as the options were way too limiting, and also, we had to ask for menus as they weren't forthcoming (and restaurant wasn't busy), and so by the time that happened, it was almost too late to be eating that. Having said that, I'd come here again if in the area. It's not one of my favourites by any stretch, but they provide reasonable service in a cute and quaint setting and parking is easy enough and the prices are good. If you're in Port Melbourne wanting a good Thai meal, give this a go.

This restaurant's green curry is wonderful indeed many ingredients were harmonized, so it was fragrant and tasted so good And servers were cool! They remembered our orders perfectly until we left the table even what we ordered separately So I felt that they really cared about all customers amazing!

Struck by an awful bout of the flu, I desperate scrolled through the Uber eats options that would both ease my symptoms and nourish me. Alas, I commit after some time of deliberation on, Spirit of Thai's classic Seafood Tom Yum (pictured below). The composition of this tom yum featured a delightful, fresh variety of vegtable and seafood without being overly dominant of a single flavour or ingredient. The delicate balance of spice and sour never tipping to drastically in either direction.

It has done wonders to my sinuses, belly and the spirit of Hamish!

It was a pleasure to lunch at Spirit of Thai, we’ve been on a weekday for a quick lunch around port melbourne. The staff was really pleasant and helpful, nice atmosphere inside and good food. They have an extensive menu and our food was amazing, so tasty. The best part, only $12 lunch menu!! -and good portion of food.
Don’t doubt it, and enjoy a fresh Thai two steps away from the beach

The pad Thai is really wet and soggy, it’s so salty and I have to drink a whole bottle of water.
The beef curry is quite tasty.

The food is expensive for what it is, the same quality as what I can get for $8 special 🤷🏻‍♀️

Firstly I have to say this place has fine dining level of service! On this we were hoping to try the softshell crab curry however they had run out. We started off with the prawn wonton that looked amazing when it came out but tasted average. The roti was decent.
We had the triple flavours barramundi and chicken laab for mains. I must stress the servings are a decent size so don’t over do it with the starters.
The barramundi makes flavours seemed confused however the chicken laab was phenomenal! One of the best I’ve ever had!
Wow! we were simply stunned by the hospitality, ambiance and good food. On a lazy windy wintry afternoon, famished and tired, we entered (skeptically) this beautifully done-up place and was greeted by a beautiful smile.

After having settled on our table, we called for a Duck Red Curry, Rice, and assorted platter of entre. We simply loved Chicken Satay from the entre. Not jaw-breaking sweet, and perfectly spicy...cooked to perfection. The spring rolls and samosas were disappointing...flavorless. Coconut prawns were decent enough. But what stood out was perfectly cooked, flavorful and huge bowl of Duck Red Curry with not only consisted of more than decent portion of duck meat but also fresh veggies.

Worth the money spend.

Ordered takeaway today & can’t praise the quality, value for money & taste of the food enough. Had the green curry & pad krapow - generous portions & authentic flavours! Very glad to have this as a local!!

Lovely food & very friendly staff that can make any meal according to taste or dietary requirement, spicy or mild. The vegetarian samosas are to die for. This is my new Thai local 🙌🏼

It offers the best Thai food I have ever tried. For entree, you must try Satay Chicken screws and fish cakes. For main course, red duck curry just makes my day. I will definitely go back with my friends.

Excellent service every time we've been here (>5 over a few months). The chicken satay skewers, tom yum fried rice and a glass of Leo beer makes for a great dinner.

Fabulous food and terrific service at the lovely Spirit of Thai around the corner from Bay St, Port Melbourne. When it comes to entrèes, their chicken satay is one of the best I’ve ever had. Also really good are the prawn wontons and the samosas. The Tom Yum Fried Rice and Massaman Curry are so delicious, we keep coming back for them. Worth checking out!
