Review Tofwd - Melbourne

Two Sheds
What a tremendous little spot on bustling Degraves Street. I like the seating inside and out. The inside seats are dinky little stools. Outside are decent chairs and tables in the middle of the street. Either way you get a good view of the passing parade which is typically part of the Degraves Street experience. Service was engagingly quick and pleasant here. I was greeted cheeringly immediately on arrival. My coffee arrived very shortly thereafter. The mug it came in was cute as well. I really liked it! Best of all, the coffee was a cracker. It could not be faulted. I spent a happy half hour or so here. Apart from the seat and the coffee it was fun looking at the deli stock which looked excellent. Nice place. Recommended.

To die for!!! Soooo many gorgeous vegan options, I couldn't decide! Had to return the following day for more goodies 😂 wish we had a place like this in Canberra! Plenty of gluten free as well. And such a cute idea with the little groceries packed in there!

Amazing deli for all the veggies and vegans out in Melbourne. This place has a lot to offer, with seatings inside and outside. Probably they don't serve any (specific) breakfast menu, but pop around any time to grab your favourite organic pie, gluten free muffin or vegan cake.. Or just to share a cuppa with your friends!

Beautiful Organic food right on the popular street running off Flinders St, Degraves Lane. It is not easy to find high quality staff and food in Melbourne CBD but this place is remarkable. I remember when it first opened the owner is a genius entrepreneur and she has created an amazing place. Highly recommended.

The Organic Food and Wine Deli is an awesome little cafe. Heaps of gluten-free options. My flat white with regular milk tasted smooth and rich without any bitterness. The vegan gluten-free MARS slice was moist and fresh... so good.

I was so happy to find somewhere that uses spelt flour as it’s quite rare to come by! They use spelt flour for the muffins and pastries. I had the carrot, almond and apple muffin which I absolutely LOVED! It didn’t have any added sugar so you can just taste the natural sweetness of the carrot and apple. I also tried their organic chai latte which was comfortingly different from the chai powder that a lot of cafes use. I really enjoyed how it wasn’t too heavy on the cloves which is something that bothers me with a lot of organic chai mixtures, it was a perfect blend. Only downside for me was that they didn’t have lactose-free milk. Otherwise, plenty of healthy guilt-free and vegan options at this cafe, will be returning

Loving the almond croissant and the vegan and gluten free options! But 8 dollars!!! for a fresh orange and apple juice that comes in a small coffee cup size. 😲😲

So many vegan options it's impossible to choose! Friendly service and not too exxy given it's on the touristy Degraves St.

Tasty food. Great for vegetarians, everything on the menu is fair game. Service a little slow when busy, but tolerable if you aren't in a hurry.
The presentation and meals have a rustic/home-cooked feel to them, which I'm okay with, but a bit of a contrast to the hip/modern cafes that are all over Melbourne.
The price is a little too high for me to recommend this place widely. However, if you are after a health, tasty, vegetarian meal, this place will serve you well.

The food is great and I love the concept but the service in the mornings is absolutely ridiculous. They have one person taking orders and making coffees and smoothies at the same time. Sometimes a line forms and they don’t even acknowledge it. The second person working in the store is busy preparing food for lunch and is not paying any attention to customers. I have seen people leaving the store on several occasions now just because of the bad service and long waiting times.

Quince And Cheese
Small shop on Degraves with impressive selection of sweet and savoury vegan treats. I came here for a coffee but stayed for a delicious Crumbs Bakehouse apple scroll. I also love the bakery's strawberry donut, which TOFWD also stocks. My soy flat white was good and hot like I like it. My only gripe is that I wish soy wasn't an extra cost considering it's a vegetarian and mostly vegan venue. But alas... I do recognise soy is more expensive than other milks. I don't think it was Bonsoy though (correct me if I'm wrong please), which I'm happy to pay more for. Other soys, not so much.

Because I suffer from an autoimmune disease, I sometimes need to go on restrictive organic diets so when I do, I take my food sources seriously. It's amazing how few organic places are in CBD so I was happy to find this place. I only had the organic mixed fruit juice (what they had in stock so beetroot, orange, apple, ginger) from here. It was freshly made, in front of me and most importantly, had nothing else added to it. I guess it's a smaller than average cup for a Large (pictured) but it was slightly more than this (I was asked to sip a bit of it 3/4 way so that I could have a bit more). At $9, I think it's probably just about fairly priced. Looking around, there seems to be a few good choices for freshly made foods as well as options for the pantry and the fridge.

Bit of a pricey place to go but they have a really sick selection of vegan foods on offer. some are a bit crazy and fun and fresh so I’ve been here heaps

Always good, nourishing food. Polite and efficient staff. Helpful array of other products and groceries. The tahini date bliss ball is perfection!
Hannah
What a vegan gem!! Delicious donuts, cakes, sweet treats & savory delights. On the pricier side due to the type of food sold, but worth every cent.

3.5
Degraves is always a fun place to go have lunch just because it is so 'Melbourne' but I often feel like you pay for the location and TOFWD left me with the same feeling.
Almost everything they have is vegan, gluten free and organic and there's a good mix of savoury snacks and sweet nibbles.
My friend and I both enjoyed our coffees/teas and my friend loved her danish but my chocolate bliss ball was crumbly and underwhelming.
I'd happily come back and try something other than the bliss ball though since the staff member was so nice and my friend enjoyed her snack.
Fike
Great vegan food for quick breakfast and lunch or even snack. Go there at least once a week and never get bored. They have both savory and sweet. My favorite are vegan muffin with apple, almond and cinnamon and vegan broccoli cheese pie.
Steven Gu
The organic food and wine deli in CBD. Like the service and organic food. We ordered the tea and coffee. Service was good and friendly. Coffee is not my type a bit sour.

Opting for something different, filling and light I enjoyed the Lentil salad with a Mocha chaser. Enjoyed some great conversation with random strangers and soaked up the atmosphere in this great little Melbourne laneway.
TigerTreeEats
Service: always helpful
Food: walnut and tofu sausage roll was yummy and tasted like the real thing! Cookies can sometimes be very hard. Some vegan, some aren’t. The turmeric lattes are great.

Thank you so much for providing vegan options in the CBD, when everywhere else pretty much on Degraves Street/other neat little streets nearby were devoid of vegan items. I had the pleasure of being able to try various pies for breakfast for several days, and I just absolutely loved the shepards pie, the broccoli tart and the vegan brown rice Kashmir (sorry if I spelt it wrong!). The mushroom and lentil pie and danish were a delight as well. I enjoyed eating them on the little tables inside the shop by the side. Was a warm and filling wakeup call for the cold mornings of Spring!

Food for Thought :)

As our food becomes more and more industrially and artificially produced i.e. junk food it's nice to know that some places are going back to a more natural way of doing things. The Organic Food and Wine Deli does just that. They do vegan snacks, things like peanut butter, jams, spreads, conserves, rice, milks, soft drinks and sweets. I ordered a Strangelove Ginger Beer, a Pico Super Dark Chocolate and A Seed and Bean Super Rich Milk Chocolate and I was really happy with the taste of them.

The Ginger Beer was delicious, crisp, natural taste not too sugary and the chocolate, the dark one was on the bitter and cocoa side as it should be. The milk one was awesome too. Prices are a bit steep but then as I keep telling my followers if you can afford to pay a bit more you generally choose quality over quantity. :)

staff are really easy going and friendly. the variety of vegan options is really thrilling and lovely. Adelle Yen & i got the lemon curd donut (which i found very dissapointing, especially for the price i paid for it ($5.50). it tasted really plain inside, would not order again) & chia banana bread (which my friend really liked, but i did not).
Split The Bill
Probably the worse chai latte I've ever brought. I feel bad wasting my money on this. Chai was very weak & watery. I did expect better for an organic food store.
Helen
A tiny cafe selling a range of light vegan snacks and drinks with a focus on organic. Nice range of warm drinks, wraps, sandwiches and various other produce. Friendly and efficient.
George Cockerill
Very good selection of organic and vegan food plus lots of interesting groceries to buy. Coffee excellent to take away and friendly, happy service.
TheZenChick
Located on busy degraves street bustling with people. TOFWD I'd a small cafe which has some outdoor seating and minimal indoor seating.
Behind the glass cabinet, there's an array of vegan and vegetarian pies/pastries/salads which you can request to eat in, or decide to takeaway.

Yes, they do bung the pies in the microwave to heat it up and yes, the service can be a bit surly and dismissive, but for the price point in such a tourist laden spot, it's a place to get some semi-decent vegetarian/vegan fare.
Cazz
Beautiful healthy food!! Caters for GF and vegan. Fresh, great variety, creative and lovely people. Great location with tables inside and out.
Ben To
They've got decent coffee. Oh and they have dandelion lattes. Convenient for my feeble attempts every few years to quit caffeine. The food is a little expensive I think.

This was one of the least busy places in degraves street when I went there (which is why I chose it cos I just couldn't deal with crowds that day) and I was kind of surprised at why it wasn't more busy. The fit out was quite cute and they had all these signs up explaining their food and philosophy. There were a large range of salads and tasty looking slices on offer. Unfortunately for me, I chose a sweet potato and spinach roll (resembling a sausage roll) and I didn't enjoy it at all. It tasted very stale. It was $6 for take away, so not a cheap snack either. They charge more per item if you want to eat in. Not sure if I'll be eating here again...
Janelle Louisse Seriña
Ordered a Dahl pie, and it was the most driest pie I've ever had. Was quite disappointed and was surprised that they charged you extra to eat inside as well. Not to mention the staff member that served me was pretty rude and stood with her hand near my face waiting for my money and didn't even care to flash a smile. $6 for a dry pie and rude service, no thank you.
Kathy Bailey
A great little cafe hidden down a city side street. Jam packed with so many amazing and tasty options. Make sure you take a good look around first before ordering as there is so much to chose from - don't forget the tasty muffins, slices, balls and biscuits on the top of the counter 😋
SueyLuey
A colleague was vegan so got her some slices & muffin for afternoon tea one day.. She said it was lovely but it was ok for me - lil bit dry.. Prices are bit exxy per item though!!
Elena Clayton
Awful, stuck-up service and coffee doesn't make up for it. Rude staff. Slow. Unwelcoming. Thought it was just the one person but then it happened again and again. Not going back.
Jacinta
Tasty food but the staff really let this cafe down. Rude and abrupt and extremely unwelcoming. Would't recommend to anyone due to this and won't be going back.
Vegan Foodie Boss
This place was so nice to find for a family of 5 vegan/vegetarians. The options were fantastic but the taste of the food was slightly bland. We ordered 4 main meals and a coffee. The coffee was really bitter. The 'burgers' we're not bad but a little difficult to eat in toasted slices of bread instead of a bread bun. But what a welcome change to be able to add vegan Mayo, vegan cheese etc.
the vegan desserts looked amazing. I just wish I had more room to try everything
We will be back
Sol_n_chai
I've been coming here for a couple of years now and it's definitely a favourite. The menu is consistent, fresh, and healthy. If you want catering for your vegan diet, this is definitely the place to go.
Sabrina Ip
Bought a Pumpkin & Tofu Pie from here for $5.95
The staff said I could reheat in microwave oven for 2 mins.
But I found the pie crust became very chewy even I reheated the pie inside the paper bag provided.

The taste is ok, but just a bit pricey for other products though.

If they had a loyalty programme at this delightful deli cum cafe, I'd be the first one to sign up. Organic local produce, healthy vegan lunches, interesting beverage choices and plenty snacking options - why would you want to be naughty when you can be nice AND satisfy them hunger pangs?

My colleagues and I frequent this alleyway hang, and the girls who work here are AMAZE! Full love.
ToorakM
This is a review for the Toorak Tennis one - What a disaster. The girls there have no idea what a warm coffee is. That means not hot enough to burn your lips. This is the final time... told me to blow on it (a takeaway) and leave the lid off. While I'm holding a 2 year old. Enough said.

A niche shop right ahead of the Degraves St exit of Flinders Station, making location the greatest thing about the place. Presentation of everything around the shop was very average, and for not just Melbourne, but the renowned Degraves St, somewhat underwhelming. For starters, if you decide to eat in store whatever you buy, the item is more expensive (like, 50c more expensive per item!! What!!) - so that decided that for me, eating out it is. But that came to be not so much fun when I finally decided what I wanted. I ordered the vegan coconut log and the Tofu and Pumpkin Pie. The log was handed to me first as they were heating up the pie (in the microwave, ek!). The log was handed to me, wrapped in a napkin. I mean, cmon would a paper bag be too much to ask for? Decided to nibble on the log as I was waiting for my pie. It was BARELY EDIBLE. It was hard and bland. Tasted and felt like it had been sitting there for a week. The prices I paid for these nibbles were the only thing that pushed me to finish eating them. Just gross. When they were finished microwaving my pie, which was thankfully handed to me in a paper bag, I felt it and immediately knew Ketchup was going to be a necessity. But, luck would have it that they don't have ketchup. Seriously?! The pie itself was quite heavy, but the pastry was spelty and soft. Not crispy and flakey like a pie pastry should be! It didn't feel like puff pastry, or anywhere remotely close to a pie pastry at all. Just soft and floury is how I am describe it. Took a bite and was justified in my hypothesis - ketchup was needed. Ended up going to McDonalds and asking for sauce and eating it there, in order to make it edible. Disappointing. The filling was however incredibly delicious.
TheSkinnyFoodie
Though I love the concept of Tofwd & the staff are happy to answer any questions about ingredients used, they really do lack variety and they should have a larger gluten free and fructose friendly offering (no onion, lentils, garlic etc). This place would be great if you're a vegan / vegetarian though! Their nori rolls are okay (all I can really order from here) they are a bit pricey though and the filling needs to be a bit more substantial (less rice please).
Poppinso
Love it. Cute staff, amazing food

TOFWD has incorporated sustainability throughout their whole operations. Everything is organic or course, the coffee fair trade, containers & cutlery compostable, and even the shop fit out has been done with biodegradable paints.
Melbourne Girl
...opted for my second favourite item on the menu, the pumpkin & tofu pie. Due to the rain, I had to eat in, which does come with an extra cost. Because it's premade, they reheat the pie in the microwave, which may result in uneven heating as it did in my case today. Despite this minor flaw, however, it's usually a satisfying meal and leaves you feeling pleasantly satiated.

Goodhearted
I tried an organic vegan vegie & dahl pie with salad and chutney and my sidekick tried the tofu and mushroom pie with salad and chutney (both $12). The highlight for me was actually the awesome injection of salad goodness that came on the side - which had a lovely apple cider vinaigrette and was so fresh and wholesome (I clearly needed the vitamin hit!).

Sometimes I will take a healthy kids snack box with us for the outing, other times we head to The Organic Food and Wine Deli (TOFWD) for a nourishing, organic snack or meal to keep us going on our adventure.

TOFWD's Carrot Cake (My belly is always pleasantly surprised when satisfied by vegan dishes)
Katherine Chiu
This deli is located in Degraves st, which is well known for their fine food. The people there are really lovely and the serves of their food are huge. This is pretty much like RUSU realfoods, except that they serve breakfast. Here I had two sushi rolls and tea, which all adds up to $10.30. I found that their rice was a bit dry and too much soya sauce. They used brown rice, which tends to dry out quickly in sushi. But the fresh ingredients and fast and friendly service made up for it. Im willing to give this another try.

Regular go-to for healthy organic lunches. I go here often, because the food is usually excellent, it's all organic, and they are nearly always open (until 7pm almost every day). Some have complained about the staff, but I've never had a problem with them. Note that this place is a lot more like a cafe than a restaurant: I wouldn't go here expecting a sit-down, three-course meal - especially over lunchtime as it can get VERY busy. But again, it's great organic food (and in my experience, nice staff). My favourite thing on their menu are the mushroom pies (which are actually great even when cold), although the sushi, salads, and lentil burgers are all also really good.
Satiety Society
Pumpkin and Tofu Pie with Salad. The pastry was difficult to cut and overcooked but the filling was delicious. A generous salad of spinach, beetroot and carrot accompanied it and was lovely.
Darcy Kent
Man. Love this place. Every time I go, the coffee is tasty, and those sushi rolls are of the hook. There's a waitress there that always serves me, dark hair. She looks sad, but I think that's just the way her face is. She's great. I think she makes the sushi rolls, and if I'm right, that's marriage material right there damn. So 10/10 sushi rolls and 10/10 coffee, also 10/10 service.
Also, it's pronounced toe-food if peeps be wondering. Glad there ain't actual toe food tho that would be rank hahaa
Jmjensta
Rude staff, terrible chai. I come here now and then, but I shouldn't. I've had muffins that are undercooked, bland pies etc. today as I waited for my chai latte, a lady came in to say the yoghurt she bought had mould on it. Then my "chai latte" came out and it was just hot milk with a tea bag soaking in it. I think that's the nail in the coffin for me.
Larnie
Blonde girl is rude. I visited today and had to listen to her grilling and talking down to their supplier. Uncomfortable and unnecessary.
Jamilla
...disappointing. It's sad when a place with good food and concept have rude and unfriendly staff. The staff member I dealt with today seemed irritated and disinterested in my order. She lacked even a hint of enthusiasm, snatched the money out of hand and when bringing the coffee to the table, she slammed it down and stormed off. I don't think I will be back in any hurry.
Sacha Glen
Rude, over priced. This was not the first time I have been here and the staff were rude. Just unfriendly and didn't even say thank you or goodbye just took my money and started serving the next person. I only came back here because they do organic and it's hard to find anywhere else in the city that does but I tell u what I won't be back! Very over priced. And food isn't at all that great! This place needs some competition!
Check Please
TOFWD have a branch office at Orrong Park Prahran.. And it is adjacent to the tennis courts and is just fabulous. Always teaming with tennis players and mum's it is a great find. Recommend.
Christina
So awesome!! Great options for vegans and vegetarians. Really stellar range of choices for savoury, sweet and drinks. Encourage and support more places to have healthy options like this. Great muffin and coffee!
Mixed Appetite
Love it here!! The only place in the city to get delicious organic vegetarian food at a reasonable price!! It's so nice to be able to go somewhere and be able to pick anything off the menu! (Minus a sandwich and sushi with tuna in it)
Really friendly staff too!
Definitely recommend
AH
Not good. I tried the raw chocolate cheesecake this morning and it was near inedible. Had I not paid $6.50 for it, I would not have eaten it. It tasted of a bad quality cocoa powder and the filling was hard, instead of light like a raw cheesecake should be. It was obvious that it was rather old and had been sitting gladwrapped in the display cabinet for a few days. The customer service was also rather questionable as the staff lacked enthusiasm and a smile. Thought I'd give them another try after a previous bad experience, and I think that it's safe to say that I am definitely never returning after today.

Good soy chai lattes

Haven for me: Gluten free, Organic and Vego!. Amongst the hip Degraves Street in the CBD I found everything I needed as a Health conscious Vego. I had a rye sourdough mushroom and tofu pie, salad, kombucha ginger ale followed by a date ball for dessert. Prices were suprisingly on the cheaper end for organic food which I loved since having lived in all Sydney, Brisbane & Perth this place has to be one of the cheapest I've seen. Caters for the gluten free, organic, and vego = happy lassie :)
Jürgen Hein
The service was great - friendly and accommodating. Very tasty beers and lentil burger - shame it closes early.
Always Hungry
Nice location and good selection of vegan choices. Wasn't keen on the coffee though. They use pure harvest organic soy milk which is better than a lot of cafe's choices but Bonsoy tastes way better.
Fish
Worth a visit!. Position on the ever popular Degraves St, TOFWD have lots and lots of attractive menu options. There are heaps of slices, cakes and muffins for a treat or some more substantial salads, soups, pastries and sandwiches. All options are fresh too which is a sticking point.
The muesli slice was pretty good (chock full of nuts and seeds) as was the soup of the day - leek and broccoli.
Would happily return...
Nadia
The only food without a smile. I understand the higher prices for vegan or gluten free food, it is a niche market.

The food and coffee were good.

I do not understand the staff who were rude, unfriendly and ignored my friends order.

In a highly competitive lane of cafes patrons need only look to the left to see a dozen more attractive friendlier alternatives.
Nicole
Pretty disappointed! I ordered a Vegan Shephards pie with salad. They'd 'run out of salad' at midday...and then the Shephards pie was basically all potato with a very thin layer of carrot and onion underneath! Should not be advertised as a 'shepherds pie'
Littleums
Good prices, wholesome delicious food. I had a tofu burger, and it was excellent. I make veggie burgers all the time, so this wasn't necessarily something I couldn't have at home. However, it was a really nice patty that wasn't trying to pretend to be meat. I think it had brown rice, as it had a really great texture that was chunky enough to let you know you're eating real food. The tomato chutney and sourdough are really the thing that made the burger stand out. I had a vegan, almost gluten free brownie, which unfortunately wasn't very nice. I think they may have undercooked it, which meant that it was left with an odd "off" taste that GF baked goods sometimes have. (Have you ever tasted raw GF batter? Don't!) There were a lot of delicious looking options, and I will definitely return on a future trip to Melbourne.
Mjloco
A little out of the ordinary. Hmm.. I guess sometimes really healthy, organic food just doesn't taste as good as the fried, processed s**t we're used to! The organic banana smoothie was extremely lumpy and tasted a tad out of the ordinary, but hey that's evidence of real banana in there, isn't it? I'd take that over Boost any day. On the upside, you do feel really good about yourself when you leave the store!
Cuptart
Had a takeaway meal consisting of vegetable curry & Dahl. The veggie curry was v tasty, however the Dahl had a strange texture & taste, it wasn't offensive but I wouldn't have it again. The Marsala chickpeas looked good so I'll try those w the veggie curry next time.
Diane
My favorite place to eat! I usually come in Sunday mornings and have the Bircher with coconut yogurt.-best Bircher ever! Coffee is always good & staff friendly & helpful.
G.R.eat
Tofu sushi roll cost me $3.90 and I was willing to pay the price for good quality ingredients. However all I could taste was the saltiness of the soy (way too much of it! Something that salty must have alot of sodium in it. Not so good for you!). Anyhow I enjoy eating organic so I will return to try their other products.. Fingers crossed!!!
FueledbyFood
I can't comment on food yet, but I thought the flat white was good.
Healthy Party Girl
Was good once, hopefully will be again. I used to like it but it's been slowly losing it's touch over the last couple of years - staff no longer seem passionate or educated (had to tell one about incorrect labelling re: food allergies/preferences), the food is rising in price but not quality and the least three times I've had coffee there, even that was lacklustre. I still want to like it though, so I'll keep trying.
Hannah
Amazing!. Over the past year I have been working in the cbd. I have an hour lunch break and Tofwd is my number one stop. I have struggled to find anywhere else in the city that provides you with a healthy (let alone organic) lunch under $10, besides TOFWD! Unless you are all talking about the $4 white roll baguettes filled with horrible supermarket ham and processed 'swiss' cheese. I think an all organic sandwich for $8.90 is really a great price, remember, you are paying for the ORGANIC product and labour (which neither are cheap!!!) Service - the staff work as quickly as they can, with a smile but sometimes this place gets so busy I can imagine there would be a lot of pressure to serve all of the customers staring them down, "please young, spritely, healthy person, serve me NEXT!"

All of the muffins are now cooked on site as I proposed the question "who does all of your cooking?", as well as the oat balls ($3.50) and wheat free apple and barley muffins ($4)! All other stock is provided to the store fresh every morning by two highly regarded organic, vegetarian companies- Crumbs Bakery and Organic Kitchen.

Plenty of Gluten Free options, you just have to get there early as most of the options sell out quite quickly some days - or just give them a call and reserve something for your lunch. I think TOFWD is amazing, not a bad place at all, especially considering the small amount of space they have and tourist/local traffic that travels through degraves. 9 out of 10!
Ryan Anderson-Smith
Love it! Nice coffee, good range and reasonable prices!
Luke Rowett
Service was ordinary, a smiling but borderline rude service. Could not be bothered to even look in my general direction while dangling my lunch in front of me like I was his pet.
CTKD
Tried to support it. I have tried to like this place, but the 3 day old salads, and lacklustre service has gotten to me.
I don't like standing at a counter for 5 minutes without being acknowledged, and when I finally do it is with a shrug and a grumpy demeanor. Particularly from this one girl who always seems to work Sunday mornings.
Then when I get to eat my salad it has dried out and it is flavourless.
Will be giving it a miss from now on.
Jane Lane
LETS BE REALISTIC. This place is okay. Regarding Kate's claim that this place is reasonably priced? I think not. I could buy enough organic vegetables to feed two people for a week with 40-50 dollars. I don't want to pay 9-10 dollars for a subpar flavourless sandwich. The best things about this place are the baked goods but the pies aren't even theirs - as in, they don't make them. They're also much more expensive their than at other places I've eaten them. They also do not make any of their burger patties - don't pay 10 dollars for a stodgy stale role, a few spinach leaves and some grated beetroot. It's okay if your in a pinch and you want healthy/vegan food at that end of the city but otherwise it's just overpriced dumb food that we could all make ourselves.
G-loria De Foe
The pesto pasta with spinach and peas is to die for! The staff who work there are also great but I have come across some unpleasant customer service from one girl repeatedly, maybe she was having a bad week but still unpleasant.
Sarah85
3 day old salads. To their own detriment, these guys mark the date the salads were made on the bottom of their take away tubs. I just had the displeasure of eating a 3 day old lentil & goats cheese salad (you don't see the date until you get to the bottom).

It's strange that a food store that markets itself based on the organic, fresh, healthy food mantra would sell food so past its best?

Lift your game, TOFWD, how difficult is it to make a fresh salad?! Disgraceful.
Hungry Brunette
Flavoursome and very healthy. Loved the brown rice nori rolls and salads. Still plently to try...
Ash
Fresh and delish. I visited this cafe on a recent trip to Melbourne. I really enjoyed the mushroom and tofu pie with wholegrain crust, as well as the organic nori roll. Good value for money too. Simple, fresh, tasty and healthy.
Toweringblonde
Yum and great location. Much better than the other cafes in degraves, which all sell the same, bog-standard cafe food as everywhere else but charge a bucketload!! TOFWD service is ok, not amazing, but the food is fresh, well-priced and delicious. variety is good too. nice to know a place it's super easy to get vegan food in the city that you can also take non-veg friends to.
Josh
If it's flavour you're after TOFWD is the place. After a mind-blowing muesli with fruit and yoghurt I was satisfied in taste quality and quantity. Next time I'm in Melbourne this will be my first stop.
Kate
Reality check!. To all the people who think TOFWD is expensive: are you serious? If you bought the ingredients to make a quinoa salad or an avocado, hommus salad sandwich yourself, it would cost way more than $8 or $9. You guys in the cbd don't know how lucky you are having a shop like that. Stop complaining!
ps the tuna brown rice nori roll I had today was delicious. Only $3.50
Kate
Melbourneyum
Sugar free brownie. I looked online for this one... for vegan/sugar free food and it looked like they had a bigger selection.its really a small little shop/cafe but the food looked nice i decided too take away something i choose the sugar free vegan brownie and it was delicious.ill be back to and try their salads and cakes which looked nice.
Mas
Healthy but ordinary. I was really disapointed with the limited range of food. Their website had a lot on offer for gluten free customers so I was excited to try this place out but it did not match what was actually on offer when I got there. There were only 3 types of pies and 1 muffin available to choose from that were gluten free which was about 1/4 of what their website advertised. If you can eat anything this place is OK but for specialised eaters its a bit disapointing. Their muffins were absolutely delicious and I would go back again just for them.

This place, although expensive has great food. they however don't have eftpos or credit card facilities, but thats ok.

Quick vegan choices. It may not be the most tasty food - vegan or not - one could find in the Melbourne CBD, but at least it's fresh and very healthy. I find myself returning to grab quick fresh lunches in the city.
