Always a delight to dine at the Loading dock. I enjoyed my Middle eastern lamb salad - $19.90 which was a very large serving and filling and my friends as always found their their Spaghetti Marinara was delicious - $28.50 their only feedback was that the portion was slightly smaller then the previous time we dined here.
This was finished with Panacotta and Sticky date for dessert for $10.
Our food was pre ordered and we were served very promptly.
We tend to only dine here for special occasions as Michael and his staff provide great service.
Love the loading dock for a local fine dining experience! It sits on the beautiful Yarras edge marina and the service is always friendly, food is always fresh and delicious and we find the price reasonable for what it is. Our Friday night date goto.

A bit out of the way from the main South Wharf restaurant precinct Loading Dock was the gem where I had lunch. I chose their Ravioli (spinach & ricotta along with home-made napoli sauce) at $23.50, followed by Panna Cotta with mixed berries at $10.90. The ravioli was moist & really enjoyable, served within 15 minutes of ordering & one could visibly see the steam rising from it (I dislike mildly warm food). The dessert didn't disappoint either, full of contrasting flavours & I loved the unique presentation of the strawberry. Service provision was fantastic by Chantelle, super friendly, chatty & polite as well as being efficient - when Loading Dock loses her they'll have lost a great asset. The vocal pop background music was at a suitable level and the ambiance was bright & cheery with plenty of window space.
Oct 14, 2016 - update
Popped in for a dessert having lunched elsewhere & tried their Sambuca Strawberries with ice cream at $12.90 and absolutely loved it, the Sambuca flavour was just strong enough not to ruin the flavour of the fresh strawberries on my palate.
The Juror's Verdict: Food 4.5/5, Service Provision 5/5, Will I return: Yes, definitely & soon.

One of the best fish and chups in the area. The fish is flaky and well battered, serving with crispy chips and fresh salad. As a fish and chips lover i am totally satisfied with my selection!
Zomato is a dud. Unless the business pays, they list your negative reviews first. Considering it is 2015, I'm surprised. I thought extortion was a thing of the past. LOL.
Always consistent with regularly changing specials.
Regardless of day of week, the standard is good, A great default place, where you can be assured of a quality meal.
Tasty. Had a quick bite. Was surprised that a $20 starter came with 5prawns! (Was expecting 3) very tasty. Lovely light meal
Good home style cooked food. Love this place eat here often for dinner food is tasty especially the red curries or pastas or anything really great view of marina and parking is available at Sth wharf or on lorimer st
Great all round venue for functions. I recently held a function at Loading Dock for 26 people. They have a great menu with plenty of options at affordable prices to please everybody (salads, pizzas, pastas, steaks, paninis, etc.), the food is presented well and tastes great, the staff were always very helpful and friendly and the venue is fitted out well (although some may find it difficult to find and parking can be a challenge). I had high expectations of this venue which were exceeded and therefore I would not hesitate in holding another function here. Thanks to the team at Loading Dock.
Love it-love the food..steak and pasta polo...
Had breakfast here. Gorgeous sunny morning. Quick service. Had the corn fritters which were good but doughy tasting. The French toast was great.
Had dinner and it was average, nothing to rave on. However, service was slow and there were only 2 tables. Do not want to imagine when it is busy. Overall, it was ok
Staying with some friends at Dockland used my urbanspoon app to find this place wow some of the best pizzas we have eat where back there tonight so good
Dined there the other night with 5 friends great food and service will list Loading Dock as a favorite will be back
Great regular brunch location. I absolutely love The Loading Dock, their breakfast menu is one of the best around. The service is always wonderful and everyone is so friendly. The tables are nicely spread out so you don't have to listen to the person next to you talking which is a massive plus for me. My breakfast of choice is the eggs Benedict (over bacon) and the eggs are always cooked to perfection and they are generous with the hollandaise sauce. Also, the lattes are amazing! I definitely recommend Loading Dock to anyone who dares venture into the windy Docklands.
Lovely place for a quiet lunch. We had a girls catch up here, the location is great, over looking the marina and ANZ back to the city. It's a shame more people don't visit this side of Docklands, parking was easy. We went on a Saturday arvo, there were a few people in the restuarant but the noise level was great, service was good and food was fresh. No one had any complaints. They let us split the bill which was brilliant. I had the thai beef salad which was excellent...I'd just ask for a bit more chilli next time!
Just left this here minutes.... Just left this place minutes ago. We dined here at 5.30pm on a Saturday. - nice view of boats I'll never be able to afford - service was friendly and timely -food came out quickly and spaced out well, we had jerk chicken, polenta vegetables, dips...followed by calamari and pizza. - first time I've had jerk chicken so can't really compare authenticity but it was delicious! Calamari was softish (good way) lightly crumbed as good as you can get really. The 'loading dock' pizza with ground sausage and caramised onion was sensational! Light tasty and well balanced flavours. Nice setup here with food to match.
Attentive service with a smile we all had battered fish with house chips, beautifully cooked, the Wasabi aioli was magnificent
So lovely!. This is one of the rare restaurants where I can't find a single thing I disliked.
The view was lovely, the place is comfortably and warmly decorated, the staff are friendly and helpful, the food is delicious and moderately priced. I can't fault the place, and I had a wonderful evening out.
I highly recommend it!
Great food, great service and nice area! Lamb rack was absolutely delicious! Would go there again!
Fresh and filling with lovely atmosphere and views. Overlooking Yarra Edge I was excited to discover this new eatery in Docklands. The very generous sized vegetable (open) burger and fries was fresh, homemade and served with appropriate care. Probably less chips and more salad would be nice (more so to limit the stomach bulge than taste). Each dish that went past me looked fresh and well presented. Lots of locals enjoying the sunshine and champagne. One of the best places I've found in Docklands
Seafood Pizza. This is one of the best pizza I have eating in Melbourne. great location, wonderful staff and great view of the city
Great local. Such an improvement on the last dismal offering here. The owners are lovely and service is always cheerful.
The food has a modern italian bent and the pastas are always fresh and cooked al dente!
Definitely recommend - especially with the great view being right on the Yarra, and city skyline.
Solid menu, with decent coffee. Big improvement on previous restaurant in this location. Hoping the service will improve the longer they are open.
Balsamic chicken with vegetables. One of our favourite dishes on the menu is this tender very tasty chicken breast which is covered with a delightful balsamic gravy. It is served on a bed of seasonal vegetables with baby roast potatoes and green beans.
The presentation is perfect, the dish cooked to perfection and the balance of flavour is a joy to the pallet. This is just one of the wonderful dishes at this new and exciting restaurant overlooking the serene waterways of Melbourne
Great quality in every criteria. Clean, well presented modern restaurant including the facilities, friendly and professional staff without any ego. Fair prices. Really wasn't a fan of the burger but the pizza is some of the best we've had worldwide. I would go there again and recommend to any local or visitor in Melbourne.
Great place, a true find. The service is excellent, staff are always very polite and welcoming, the food is superb and you also get a nice view. What more could you want? Highly recommended.
Good food, great location. Had spaghetti marinara and Caesar salad with chicken. Large portions. Prices about $20-28. Lovely staff.
Well managed, great staff, good food at a reasonable price. It's hidden away in a quieter part of Melbourne's river frontage and offers a different view of the skyline.
Great food and great service. Have eaten there twice now and am very happy.
Very friendly and accommodating staff, great views, good food, lots of light, not too noisy.
Very nice food, friendly staff nice atmosphere go back again,,,lamb rack yum.
