Nice place, went in here for a few pinta after a stroll up Sydney Road and ended up staying a few hours, reminded me of a place I used to frequent in Brisbane actually!!
Will likely be back soon!!
A very nice pub experience.
Attended a lunch meeting at the duke of Edinburgh and was quite impressed with both the staff and the quality of the food.
The seafood platter was a highlight, the pizza was good but not great.
Staff were very attentive and friendly.
2 thumbs up!

I have been here twice with a large group of 16 people. The service has been excellent on both occasions and the food is lovely. I would highly recommend this venue.
Great honest food. Went in on a Monday for the 2 for 1 promotion and it was great. Ordered a kids cheese burger and the burger was cooked to perfection unlike some other places dry and cold. Definitely will be returning. Friendly staff
I always find this pub so friendly affordable and food is very clean and fresh.....big thankyou to the staff...
Plenty of seating and tables.
Food was reasonably good. Went with the previous Zomato recommendations of the eggplant chips entree and veal scallonpe. The eggplant chips did not disappoint, just great taste and something different. The veal with mash gravy mushrooms and semi dried tomatoes was enjoyable and veal was tender. Water provided upon seating. Got a park right out side a bit of a bonus, pub has large ample parking at the rear assessable directly from Sydney Road. Overall recommended, is what it is. Nothing more nothing less.
Great food and ambience.
Thank you to duke of edinburgh staff for an amazing night. Thank you to the wonderful waitress Nicoletta for her great hospitality. Will be back for sure.
The seafood platter for 2 was delicious and my favourite were the eggplant chips yummy. To end the night indulge in heavenly coffee and cake.
Been here quite a few times and have been impressed every single time. Not the biggest fan of pub food and the quality of it but Duke of Edinburgh isn't your typical pub meal. The calamari entrée is beautiful and the parma is as well. If you want a quick meal, this is definitely the place to go to!!
We arrived as a group of 4 for a birthday dinner in March and the food and service was outstanding. Everyone ordering the Steak, pasta, risotto and chicken and chips. No one left disappointed.
Fast forward to May and 2nd time round, again we could not fault the service and food. Steaks and Parmas were ordered this time round with enough in the tank for desserts.
If you don't normally ever have room for dessert, I recommend you start your first course with dessert. We enjoyed the Apple Crumble, Chocolate Mars Cake, Chocolate decadent cake and triple choc mousse. Wow you could definitely share a dessert between 2 even though we all demolished what was in front of us. I am not usually a chocolate dessert person and went for the Apple Crumble, crunch crisp and nice balance of sweet and tart which came with cream and ice cream. Although looking at what came out for the other 3 diners with me, their eyes lit up and only sounds of aahs and yum were heard.
The Duke of Edinburgh Hotel has quality food, terrific service and value for money prices at a reasonable cost.
Try it out. Enter the premises with the dining area to your right.
First visit to this place, heard bad things previously and was sketchy on going but convenience got in the way. How mistaken I was. Staff were an all-star team couldn't be happier with the service, I had eggplant chips and the vegetarian pizza and was elated by the presentation, size and all over flavor. 5 stars also for the Monday night two for one mains, even if the bistro looks quiet don't be discouraged by this exceptional quality pub grub inside
Had dinner at 'The Duke' last night (using a raffle prize gift voucher) and walked in expecting to be underwhelmed, but walked out pleasantly surprised.
Throwing cauyion to the wind, I dared to eat a pub steak, and the rare 400gm Rib Eye was bloody fantastic (seewotididthere)
My compatriot had the salt and pepper calamari, which was cooked perfectly and tasted great (not too salty)
Drinks are average price, and despite previous reviews, we found the service to be pretty good. One bar person was initially a bit abrupt, but all the table staff were friendly and were pretty attentive, without seeing to hover.
It's not 'The Post Office' but it doesn't try to be.
You can get a good pub meal, and not pay crazy $$$.
I'd go back, without a problem.
Amazing Brunswick local!!. The Duke of Edinburgh is one of my all time favourite local spots! I always receive delicious food and top service, any day of the week! High recommend this hotel!!
Amazing Food - Amazing Variety!. As a regular visitor to this establishment, you really can't go past the Wednesday Steak Night. Amazing, juicy and with a fresh salad and chips. Not once have I had an average meal - steak, chicken parma, risotto, pasta. You won't be disappointed!
Parma thursdays. Had the $10 parma on thursday. great value and taste. also the price of drinks here is awesome for brunswick
Ordered steak sandwich and it tasted great. crisp lettuce and tomato, meat was perfect, bacon and cheese spot on, bread was good too. would def come back .. well done chef
All up the Duke’s parma is one that really needs the extra toppings. If you are a fan of novelty parmas this is definitely one to check out (and the price isn’t offensive) Thats the best recommendation I can give it. Avoid the Original, but stick to the Novelties – The Aussie in particular looked damn good.
Comfortable venue with pub grub. Bistro Service. Meals for under $30. Happy hour. Seniors menu options $15-$19. Pokies at far end and Keno at the bar if you're into that sort of thing. Suitable space for group bookings.
A little gem in the heart of Brunswick. Has been renovated so expect to be comfortable. Staff helpful and friendly. Food is very good - I had the risotto which was very nice!
Got a nice Parma and steak.
Food is great and atmosphere is easy going.
Peking at the back too!
Must come again
Pretty decent food and around decent pub
Good place and it has very good customer service
My son, husband and I randomly chose to eat here. The staff were competent and pleasant, seating us and providing menus promptly. The meals were excellent, pork belly couldn't have been more tender, chicken parmigiana and fish meals were a large serve, and both were enjoyed. Many people were there for lunch on the day we were there, which is a good indication. Dining and rest rooms were both clean and tidy
Like many of Melbournes pubs the visual architecture is wonderful and of a bygone time. Inside the building is transformed to modern facilities, bars and bistro. The beer is cold... the best part of any pub!
