Tried the chicken wings and got 6 more pcs for free ππ»ββοΈ. The spicy buffalo sauce is amazing ππ» ππ» ππ», the texas bbq is quite nice as well. The only downside is the portion is pretty small (at least for me). Overall was a good experience.
A very American restaurant right next the Yarra river in Southbank. It has some great benefits, seeing as you get refills, plus the size of the food is pretty large as well.
Finished class at uni for the day and thought thank god itβs Friday..... so hey, why donβt we try TGIF southbank ππ»ββοΈ rushed in to escape the blistering cold Melbourne weather and was greeted at the door with a very welcoming smile π no booking but the waiter was swift to reset a table! It was like a typical Wednesday night passing practice for the workers at TGIF, construction with the 6, into the 10s, through to the 9. Honestly it was a pleasure to watch! We were super hungry so just a couple of entrees to start - calamari & chicken wings were super π and the Beef ribs with a tangy Texas BBQ sauce were full of flavour and fell effortlessly off the bone! The service was very friendly and always so attentive. Shout out to our waiter on the night. Didnβt quite grab his name upon departure but he certainly went above and beyond in every aspect to make our experience a pleasant one!

Hilariously my previous review here, over 18 months ago speaks to my sisters obsession with their chicken tenders. Today (again, donβt ask me why) she chose this location for her final lunch as an unmarried woman before taking the plunge tomorrow. There is further irony in there being years between my visits to these chains but now twice in quick succession.
Thereβs been a bit of change between meals, including quite a menu revamp resulting in her beloved chicken tenders not being quite what they used to be. I opted for the salmon given I love that sticky Jack Daniels sauce. The fish was overcooked for me given how I like it but more than that it was overcooked for anyoneβs taste owing to its serious char.
The sauce kind of saved the day and the chips themselves were also extremely flavourful. In future I may try my luck with the chicken that also comes with said delicious sauce.

My sister is obsessed with the chicken tenders at TGI's (don't ask me why) hence I have been to just about every branch; Doncaster, South Yarra, Southland, Melbourne Central at least five times each. The service at South Yarra is the best but given I lived metres from the Southbank one that's probably where I've spent the most time.
The mango berry daiquiri never fails to lift my spirits and the chocolate malted turtle dessert is decadently delicious. I've tried a lot of the menu but generally default to the pasta which comes with some tasty bread (the size of which has sadly shrunken over the years). Not a bad spot for a casual eat but fairly overpriced for what it is. At least theres unlimited refills on your soft drinks!
Came here for a coffee, close to closing time and the waiter Ahdmad (not sure about the spelling) was warm and welcoming, top quality customer service (and great coffee) Thanks guys!
Came on a Monday night and the wait at the door was a little while, possible due to being understaffed however the service was excellent. I was in love with my Jack Daniel's burger. I had a mock tail which was the Strawberry Passion ice tea. Ooof, that iced tea was extremely sweet even for myself (major sweet tooth) but once downed with my burger in the other hand, I became accustomed to it. Enjoyed my meal so much I went on to finish my friends meal while he ran off to the loo! :P
TGI Fridays I love this restaurant, You can find this restaurant around the world the food is amazing My favourite is the ribs and the Jack Daniel Burger. The service is very bad and is expensive but the food never disappointed!!
One of the newer TGIβs on the block; the Southbank premises offers a sleek and modern decor. The signs are cut back through out and barely noticeable. Service is good, staff are attentive and friendly; of course food is consistent here; large and tasty. Not the cheapest place to go, but you always leave full and happy.
Food was good, we didnt really have a lot here, we went here on 31st eve, which surprisingly wasnt very busy, and there wetr no people waiting outside, still staff was very pushy about finishing our food and was asking if we are done almost 3 time in less than 10 mins. Which is not very good experience, considering there were 2 empty tables we could see.

Table for 6 adults and 2 children on a Friday night. Was pretty quite so Quick seating. Warm covered outdoor but inside seating. Glass wall so you can see into the next restaurant. Stylish setting with a warm pub feeling. Child friendly, kids were greeted with crayons and a colouring flyer to keep them occupied till meals arrived. Wait staff quick to take orders which is good. Though they didn't offer any suggestions/recommendation on menu. Food was quick to come out, faster then the drinks and sadly the kids drinks took even longer to come out?.. we had the JD( or JB) glaze double beef burger which is served with fries - beef bit dry but the glaze helps. Fried mushrooms good. Buffalo wings were hot hot hot-spice, not mild. The Rib rack good size for one person. Short ribs was moist but still firm on bone rib sauce nice amount of spice. Soda sold in glass no jugs but if the waiter cares to notice your hand waving the cups are refillable at no extra cost. Music not too loud but overall good spot for some yummy food on a cold evening. Only fault drinks too slow being served.

Gastrology recently devoured all 4 of the fiery dishes (each one infused with a different TABASCO flavour). We loved taking a journey through the Sizzlin Fajita Fire Tower with TABASCO Habanero Sauce, the Spicy Potato Twisters with TABASCO Chipotle Sauce, the Jalapeno Mexi Bowl with TABASCO Green Sauce and the Habanero Wings with TABASCO Habanero Sauce.
Date night on a Saturday night and we're seated upstairs near the window with a nice view. Started off with the bruschetta which was delicious would have been better with four pieces of bread instead of three. Ordered scotch fillet with mash and mushroom sauce. Steak was cooked really well, tender, mash was creamy and the sauce was heavenly! My partner ordered the Jack Daniels Ribs,Steak and prawn dish and he was very impressed! Unfortunately his steak was undercooked but the staff were happy to fix that issue and a fresh meal was brought back up within 5 minutes. Ribs were meaty. Sides were chips, beans and cauliflower which were all nice. Cider on tap was nice and on the dry side. Overall, I think this place deserves a higher rating than what it has now!
Food is tasty but overpriced; $22 for 5 chicken tenders and a handful of chips that weren't even that special. Our waiter was also a bit of a scatterbrain - we asked him for water and he gave it to another table, so we had to ask again. The meal filled a hole but it wasn't anything impressive, just what you'd expect from a chain restaurant.
I went here with my friends on the weekends and I ordered the pork ribs, the prok ribs were very tender but the sauce was a little bit too salty for me. Nevertheless, it was very tasty!
The place was very suitable for a party of 4 to come and enjoy themselves. I recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good time with friends and want to enjoy some good meat!

I had my favourite Jack Daniel's Glazed Ribs. Yes, pork ribs seasoned with Cajun spices and glazed with their famous Jack Daniel's sauce. It was as amazing at you could get. My hats off to the chef! The meat was succulent and juicy, perfectly marinated and just fall off the bone. The grilled New Orleans style corn cobs with their juicy corn kernels were refreshing to cut through the smoky, sweet stickiness and intensity of the Jack Daniel's glaze. The chips were crispy although not as perfectly seasoned as the ones at Jam Factory, but seriously I didn't really care. It was all about the ribs.
I really hate the services here as it is soooo slow even on days that are not busy, sometime you may get waiter who are like why am I even here? Anyways apart from that I really enjoy the food here like any other tgif place, I love the JD burger, we try the share plate it was okay. I tried the salad that my friend order it was amazing (coming from someone who don't like salad lol) and the chocolate adult milkshake is so good. I guess sometime the food made up for the services.
Was surprised to see that low score for this restaurant. Came here very often because it's close and casual. Always like their loaded potato skin and Jack Daniel grilled pork ribs.
Always a fun place to go with friends for oversized everything! The large cocktails are definitely a good start to the night and the giant burgers will stop you from moving for a little while.
Definitely not as bad as the review score on here!
Being sick as the last week we went for a long walk from Toorak to Southbank and wanted a substantial meal - here was the place!
I had a burger - meat was chunky and ground coarse; full of flavour and cooked well done which I asked for - with bacon, cheese, salad and a bourbon sauce. Was 4/5
Partner had chicken fajitas and it was an epic serve of fresh chicken breast and onions/peppers with all the usual sides of cheese, guacamole etc. loved it.
Now the "ultimate" frozen daiquiris were as big as my hand - and I've got massive hands! Fresh fruits and frozen rum? Was great but exxy for $19 each but still a good experience. Good service and really cool fit out inside.
It's not a haute cuisine place - a more humble eat and go place that won't have you hungry a few hours later!
After a bad experience at TGIF in the Northern Suburbs the Swine was reluctant to go back. The sucker cheap pig that the Swine is - he was talked into attending the South Bank franchise today. A half price main meal from the Entertainment Book and pig group pressure got the Swine to tag along. First observation - The Swine was surprised how empty the place was at lunch time. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. Kudos. The Swine ordered the Shrimp which was crisp and tasty. No plastic strips in this meal. Full prices do appear slightly expensive but half price today was a good deal. The Swine may not be a great fan of the sterile nature of the TGIF brand but it did its job well today.
Food was great, I had the Canadian chicken burger. Friendly service, was immediately advised of there 'happy hour', ordered at the bar (take away). The bar tender brought it to me when it was ready.
A tad pricy, but I saw the cost and made the decision- worth a try!
Delicious Jack Daniels pork ribs! ! they were succulent, moist and meat falls off the bone! Costs: $40 large rack (~8 meaty ribs) served with fries, coleslaw and dipping sauce. Sounds delicious, but there's a down side..
Well, this is the first and ever time I'll say this as I'm not a slaw person..but seriously there was Not Enough Slaw!! ..I mean the slaw was served in the same tiny cup as the dipping sauce (see image). The point of the slaw is to counter the salty and sweetness of the ribs, and there was definitely not enough. Included were a side of fries covered in (table?) salt - YUCK! The salty-ness of the fries and almost non-existant coleslaw left my mouth dry, chalky n numb?!!
Other than that.. service was good and very casual. Will be back for the ribs when TGIF reconsiders the practicality of their side servings..
Tip: Book ahead or resort to seating yourself in the bar areaπππ
Went here for lunch with my friends and we ordered few dishes to share. We got quesadilla, jack's sampler and calamari salad for 4 of us. The portion is big so I recommend to order for sharing. They all tasted good and delicious.
Have been here a few times, this time we had vouchers for 'buy one, get one free main meal' so went here for lunch with a few colleagues.
We preordered to save time which was good as the food was ready when we got there.
We ordered the ribs to share, the French dip stacked burger, the Jack Daniels steak, the bruschetta salmon and onion rings.
The Jack Daniels steak was cooked perfectly but the vegetables were a little dry. The ribs were nice with the bbq hickory sauce, the Salmon was a little over cooked, the onion rings were large and we ended up getting a takeaway box for them.
All in all, this place is alright. There a better options along Southbank to try but if you are after the famous Jack Daniels flavoured red meat dishes then you can fulfil that craving there.
Loved it!!!!! Child friendly awesome atmosphere great service and DELICIOUS FOOD!!! So friendly and they also take walk ins!! They have a beautiful view of the Yarra and ohhhhhhhh this place had like 3 floors! We choose the 3rd for the view, great value for money loved it here would most def come back again highly recommend this place!
I actually really rated this place. I am not one for chain pubs but we were stuck for a restaurant on the southbank and needed child friendly and gluten friendly. They provided us with both and were great at seating us as a walk up on a Friday night., finding 2 child seats, and getting the kids and adults feed in good time. Very pleasant and knowledgable staff as well which made things much easier in a city we didn't know very well.
TGI Friday's Southbank
Call me a dag, but I've always had a great experience at TGI Friday's. This was my first visit to the Southbank outlet and again it was great. It's possibly helped because each visit is courtesy of the entertainment card (buy one meal, get one free) so it takes the edge off the pricing. I would agree that otherwise, $40 for a rack of ribs is on the higher end. On the other hand, they are always delicious and tender and the BBQ sauce is sublime. Drinks are always cheap too. My companion had the rib eye which was as big as his head. Service is always polite, friendly and efficient. Each entertainment book has 2 x vouchers for the deal, so I'll be back again soon.
Thumbs up :D. Went her when visiting Melbourne, Chicken and prawns were well marinated and cooked perfectly, Buffalo wings and cheese dip are a must have. Staff were very helpful and friendly, in spite of being busy. Great view to top it off, definitely going back :D
Cant go wrong with tgi!. Came here on a friday night, 7 of us and we didnt have a booking, but what seemed to be the manager was able to put us on a table for 2 hours and a half which was plenty of time. Southwest potato twisters are unbelievable!
Great Food- Wait on table but half were empty!. Arrived on a saturday night with a group of 4. We were prepared to have to wait for a table and were told there was about 30mins which was fine. Went inside for a drink and were puzzled to see nearly half of the tables empty but people still waiting with pagers. Took 25mins which was fine. Just wondering if this is a ploy to get people to buy more drinks from the bar or can your kitchen not keep up with a fully seated venue? Not a big deal but it conveyed the wrong message to your waiting patrons.
Nevertheless we were all really happy with our burgers and they came out promptly and our waiter was good.
Great staff, great energy. I came in for dinner Saturday night with a bunch of friends and the staff were very friendly from the get go. We had to wait at the bar for the table and the bartenders made conversation straight away and offered drinks while we waited. The girls were all lovely and again super friendly! When we got seated we had a great view and the waitress was with us within moments saying hi and making conversation.
Food was fast, delicious and filling which was super great! Staff were great and they were singing and dancing to the music in the store which made for such a lovely and smooth girls night out. There was a girls birthday in the area where we were so we got to see a birthday song done 'Friday's' style and that made the night with how much energy and effort they put into it.
Can't wait to come back for our next girls night out!!
Surprisingly good!. Now I've had bad experiences at other TGI's in Melbourne before but decided to give this one a go anyway. Came as part of a group of five and as well as being seated right away, the wait staff were really quick to bring around drinks and menus. After we ordered it took some time for the food to come out but it was definitely worth the wait - the portion size was very generous, hot, and delicious! The wait staff were so nice and added to the great atmosphere, would definitely come to this one again.
The place is kids friendly, kids get crayon and colouring paper when dining in. Service is pretty good.
Food highlight is the Southwest potato twisters with cheese sauce. Very rich, potato is crispy and cooked well. I ordered Texas BBQ Beef ribs for the main, my wife ordered Fridays Single Stack burger. Beef ribs is a bit tough, and not well marinated, as you can taste the smoky bbq sauce only on the outer skin. Overall, a good lunch.
Spacious restaurant with rooms upstairs as well as on ground floor. Staff were friendly and responsive to orders but made a slight mistake on one of our orders. Nevertheless, they had amazingly delicious food. Toilets are upstairs and were clean. Main food prices vary from A$ 15 to 40.
Always love fridays.. but its disappointing how cajun shrimp and chicken pasta wasn't i was expecting. back in Dubai, its one of my favorite dish.. hopefully to see improvements on my next visit. staff are friendly and helpful ππ»( dined here last January)
Still a great place to eat. Great service and the food is always really good. Our starters and mains were served perfectly apart. Drinks were all good.
Plenty of space upstairs for our reservation of 6 people, and the staff attentive, without pestering us at all.
My ribs were delicious and juicy. Perfectly cooked. Chicken wings were a little small, but tasted great with just the right amount of spice.
Awesome place for a quick night out with friends and or family. If you like a steak house type of place, you should for sure check this place out!
Absolutely fantastic! For new years eve! The service staff was the best I have seen in a very long time. I would expect and totally understand somewhat grumpy staff being how busy it is. But from the moment I got in to food the service, presentation and smiles have been 6 star. Keep it up guys, wd βΊ
