New owners - with a new menu
Great for brunch with the kids and the dog.
Fantastic house made breads and pastries - and free range eggs and James’ bacon
Great breakfast and coffee! YUM! I loved the flavour of the mushroom on top of the chilli eggs :) The ladies are lovely and a nice quiet place to read a book during the week!
Delicious chilli scrambled eggs with rosemary mushrooms & I added bacon. I also had a golden latte which was nice too. Great start to the day 👍🏻
Wow!!! Such a beautiful cafe. Staff are super friendly. Food is amazing, awesome coffee and juices. I wanted to stay here all day! Dog friendly - one of the staff even came and asked if it was ok to give my dog a treat. This is the kind of service and environment that most cafes should aspire to!
Another gem of a spot in Melbourne .... Location A+++, plenty of free parking.
One of Melbourne's historical site.
This cafe is part of the South Melbourne Gas plant .... you can read the history "Gasworks Arts Park, was originally the South Melbourne Gas plant.
Formed in 1872, it began supplying gas in 1873, operating 24 hours a day and employing several hundred men. Coal was hauled from the town pier at the end of Bay Street, Port Melbourne by horse drawn tram." - gasworks.org.au
Make sure you'll get a table in the additional sunroom section, smartly renovated, Industrial style to complement their surrounding; while you are sitting down, check out those 20 tonnes capacity weigh bridge, solid steel, UK made, along the Blue stones cobble street.
This cafe not only serves adults & kids, but your canine too, especially home-made dog food, just about all patrons accompanied with one and you'll look odd if you don't bring one. They'll be happy as complementary park is part of this site, surely they can roam.
On the food side, simple, satisfying, well-cooked, lots of greens and huge, no chips with my Steak sandwich, but that is okay. I must mentioned of that home-made smoky Baba ganoush, Labneh and Beetroot homus, one of the nicest one we've had.
Allpress coffee beans and La Marzocco combo works well, thanks for that awesome Soy latte.
On top of that, it comes with great service and lots of smiles, such a fine relaxing environment to work at, plenty of sunlight on this awesome Melbourne 20's degree day.

Had a lovely lunch yesterday with a family group. Service was good, food was tasty in a beautiful ambiance. My group ( 3 generations) had a few needs, but the staff were responsive and nothing was too much trouble.
Great spot for a bite to eat or a coffee. The menu is spot on and the staff are always friendly! The Chia Seed Basket is delicious! Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful location, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of busy life... a lovely way to spend the afternoon in the sunshine! Yumny food to..
Great breakfast, fast service, good coffee. We had poached eggs, bacon, spinach on delicious toast, with superlative house made sausage and relish - very reasonably priced too.
gasworks art park was originally the site of the south melbourne gas plant which began supplying gas to the majority of melbourne in 1873. it has a fascinating history including gas explosions, surviving the depression and as an icon of victoria’s transition from black coal to brown coal in the 1950’s. these days, many of the heritage buildings have been preserved + converted into art studios, theatres and local-cafe priscilla jones.
Priscilla Jones is the cafe within Gasworks Arts Park in Albert Park and if you’re in area or attending a performance or workshop at Gasworks then it’s a great place to visit with kids. The menu at Priscilla Jones offers lots of cafe classics. There’s nothing too trendy or fancy about it which means that the standard menu is suitable for kids. If you’re looking for a kid’s menu there are three options – homemade sausage roll ($4), Croque Monsieur ($8.50) and Kids Platter of avocado, toasted Vegemite sourdough soldiers ($6.50).
Consistently good. Great coffee (they make a decent strong late!), salmon rosti and the wild mushrooms are both winners every time.
A lovely cafe which is beautifully decorated and serves delicious food. All the staff have always been very friendly and have delivered a good service. Lovely to see such friendly faces serving great coffee! Jodie and Sophie are always happy to welcome us.
Great breakfast choice and quality. Lovely cakes. Excellent service from friendly staff
A + + + + !!!. Lunch today was delightful! Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, there was only one messy table where the patron and clearly just left and as we chose this table (with comfy lounge bench) the waitress was very apologetic about the mess, dropped what she was doing and cleared it straight away. I have to say impeccable service on that note.
I am not a very big coffee fan but my Mum and her partner give Priscilla's teas and latte's a massive thumbs up and their hot chocolates are absolutely to die for!
The owner came out to talk to us as we were finishing up our meals. We discussed the food and service, she was very interested in our feedback about the meal, what we did and didn't like about it, simply so she could see if and where she needed improvement.
I am sitting here gobsmacked whilst reading all these other reviews about "terrible service", "dirty tables" and "not worth what you pay for". I think if you can scrounge up some patience, consideration and understanding for how not only hospitality works but a CAFE works you will be quite surprised how BRILLIANT Priscilla's is. It really is a little piece of home away from home..
P.s. you MUST try the chicken and leak pie ;)
Hidden gem. Great airy space, full of light and very popular Sunday meeting place. Real big and interesting breakfast dishes. Coffee could be better and too much froth on my latte. Maybe the barista was under pressure. I will try again on a quieter day and hope the coffee matches the great eggs
SERVICE EXCELLENCE & HOMELY FEEL. The food at Priscillas makes you feel warm and "cosy".
Bronwyn, owner and chef makes you feel like you have come to her home to eat.
The daily Muffins are amazing and the menu choice for a cafe is superb.
Staff are always friendly and a great extension of Bronwyn's hospitality.
The Best Coffee in this part of town.
All adds up to a great experience and you get to walk around the park or check out the gallery after your meal.
Keep up the wonderful work Priscilla's and great to have you in the neighborhood!
Wow...what a nice little gem this place is :-)
We stopped for coffee and cake. They impressed with their ability to make a proper Mocha. Very nice customer service. I have been a few times and always leave relaxed. You can go for a walk afterwards if you haven't chilled enough. They also seem to cater for social events.
DOG AND CHILD FRIENDLY. Walk my dog in this park daily, thought i would try this cafe out. i wasn't expecting much as the previous cafe here had average food and horrid grumpy owners. But Priscilla Jones is wonderful, the staff are friendly enough but the real stand out is the food. my mother had a wonderful frittata and had the homemade sausage rolls. The meals although super delicious where outshone by the amazing side salad. It was a simple spinach with a carrot and raw beetroot slaw on top, the mixture of herbs and spices in the salad was amazing. We had a lovely chai latte which was a very generous size and i was eyeing off the carrot cake that i would have had if not so full from the beautiful lunch. I cant wait to get back to try some of the great looking breakfast options. This cafe has become my new goto in the area.
The best breakfast in Melbourne - cornbread - woo hoo
A casual must !!! Not very large ... Just perfect
Fantastic Breakfast!. The Galleon for me has always been the gold standard for breakfast but this place out did it! The coffee is great too!
Chocolate Brownies - yum!. Just had the most awesome chocolate brownie, which was just what I needed on a gray day.
Loved the ambience and inside/outside dining. Service excellent and menu is impressive. We all had different dishes, no-one disappointed! We'll be back!
Welcome back. What a difference a month makes! Gasworks café is a place where people can take their kids, sit and relax over a coffee and some great food. There's an outdoor area adjacent to the park that is well shaded so you don't get sunburnt and a very pleasant place where you can also take your dog. There aren't too many places around Melbourne where you can do that. The new managers have transformed this café into the busy, thriving business that it should be and all in the space of four weeks. The staff are attentive and pleasant. I've just bought a new iPad and so it was a bonus for me that they also have wi-fi.
Really tasty comfort food, good coffee and a friendly welcome. Spinach and Ricotta cakes are gorgeous. Muffins and Brownies are awesome. Great location at GasWorks Park.
