The dumplings are pretty good but I believe there are some improvements that you can make to your service. Like from my experience, I found it to be bit slow.
Yum ..hot and delicious food. Love the noodle soup with the special handmade noodles.. the grilled lamb skewers are also special. Must try !!!
It gets extremely busy here, but staff try to accommodate as quickly as possible. Hands down best dumplings! I’ve never craved for dumplings till I ate here and the price is cheap. Definitely will come back
In Melbourne for the Grand Prix on a late Saturday night from the track, walking back to hotel I felt like Chinese and stumbled onto this place. I asked if they could make Lamb in Satay sauce (try it if you haven’t) with special rice and salt & pepper squid.
I was blown away with the lamb & rice, incredibly good, squid was also great I just couldn’t fit it in.
Just had pork and chives dumpling here. They were not bad at all, I quite enjoyed it. The price was reasonable too, though had too wait a bit and it was so damn hot inside. They could have put aircon or fans. But hey, I will come back again, but maybe not during hot days.
Started a new job today and they took me to lunch here. The dumplings are so much better then the ones in the outer east suburbs! And fast service. I will definitely be coming back.

All were super tasty, the shanghai dumplings had a delicious broth in them & the noodles weren't to oily. Will definitely come back here!

lamb-entrails soup（羊杂汤): 强烈推荐，其实给这家店推荐的主要原因是有羊杂汤，味道还是很地道的，这在city来讲太难找到，西安美食的羊肉汤根本没法和这个比。must try！

I have been here twice and a good food for the price you pay. Cheap and good dumplings. Too crowded and not so spacious, can't complain as it is CBD. The service depends upon when you go. Friday lunch time is crazy and you might have to wait. I had friend chicken dumpling, vegies ones and egg friend rice. All in all nice place to go if not too awesome!
My list of go-to for dumplings only has 4 restaurants at the moment, so I’m always open to expanding it. I’ve walked past Yum Yum Dumplings a few times while exploring Flinders Lane during my break. Random dumpling joints can be a hit or miss so I checked the reviews first. They looked above average, and I also saw pumpkin cake on the menu which I have been dying to find in the CBD. So I enticed my bf to a free dumpling dinner after work, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to order many varieties by myself during lunch.
The first time I tried their dumplings I came back during my work break three days in a row! There have been days when it gets really busy and my dumplings are drenched in oil, but most of the time they are spot on. I enjoy chatting to the lovely owner in the little window from the kitchen, you can watch them make the dumplings in hygienic conditions with lots of love.

Came here with a work colleague as we were feeling dumplings. We normally go next door but there was a massive line so we decided to try this place out as it is literally next door and it turns out we liked this dumpling place better!
From walking in, this place has a different vibe to next door, it's a bit more upbeat and modern. The furniture and chairs are newer and the overall look and feel the venue is a lot nicer.
We were seated up stairs as this place was also pretty busy during the lunch rush. Looking at the menu, the prices are very competitive to next door. Although this place might be a few dollars more, yum yum dumplings offers a small (x8) or large (x12) serving per dumpling dish where next door is all large servings for a little cheaper.
We prefer this venue as you are able to have a variety of the different dumplings by ordering the smaller servings and sharing.
We ordered the fried yum yum pork buns (x4), the fried chicken and prawn dumplings (x6), the steamed pork and chives dumplings (x8) and the steamed pork and cabbage dumplings (x8). Which came to a total of $25 which was a super cheap dumpling lunch!
Both the fried and steamed dumplings were delicious and came out piping hot! Highly recommend yum yum dumplings if you after a good variety of dumplings to curb that craving!
Simple and easy. Good restaurant for well priced dumplings that is close to flinders. Admittedly in the seedier part of the cbd, but the food is pretty good.
Xingjiang Menu Set A
Xingjiang chicken with potato and flat noodle, taste quite similar like curry, but slightly different with the cummins and cinnamon taste. I had similar dish at Dolan Uyghur Little Lonsdale, that taste much better.
The lamb skewer taste ok, but not as good as the one i had at box hill central the food court shop, sorry cant recall the stall name,but you can find it quite easily as the stall is always full of people, if not mistaken next stall to the taiwanese pancake shop.
The fried shanghai noodle taste good, i like it because is not oily, i think this is the least oil fried Shanghai noodle by far, and not salty too.
I notice they also have quite many other dishes available, don't mind to come back again to try out for second chance.
$0.20 for take away box, i think is fair, and they told you the charges before hand at least.

This place has THE best vegetarian dumplings I've had in Melbourne so far, so if you're reading this and contemplating which place has good veggie dumplings, give this place a go! Every other place I go to, the vegetarian dumplings just don't really hit the mark but these are just different and addictive. The dumpling skin is thick and delicious - even eating the skin by itself was super tasty and the actual veggie mix inside is tasty and not full of an overpowering taste of tofu/coriander like so many other veggie dumplings I've tried. Their chilli oil that you dip it in isn't watery and weak like other places I've been to. A large quantity of delicious veggie dumplings for a cheap price! I travel to the city just to get them sometimes and am yet to find another place that compares, so I definitely recommend the veggie dumplings here!
Great dumpling place that also does some Xinjiang dishes as well as the usual pan chinese stuff. The family that run it are really nice too, providing friendly service, which can be rare in non expensive chinese restaurants.
We had some dumplings and yum yum pork buns, both of which were good. We also shared a lagman (on the menu as Xinjiang noodles with lamb or something like that) which had a nice flavour and came with thick hand pulled noodles. All were fairly cheap, and great value.
I would definitely return, particularly as I'd like to try their cumin lamb skewers that a neighbouring table got.
Yum Yum is great! Delicious, cheap dumplings and pork buns made me happy. The place was buzzing with happy patrons on this particular Friday night. Food was served very quickly. The only issue was that one of the dishes we ordered didn't arrive, but this was quickly rectified. A+
Cheap, decent amount of servings, quick. Got the chicken and prawn dumplings and the steamed pork buns and I wasn't disappointed. A must-try if you're in the city.
Came here with a few people on recommendation and wasn't disappointed. We shared large servings of chicken and prawn dumplings , along with vegetarian dumpling. They were delicious! We also had a serving of Singapore fried noodles and they were brilliant.
For about $10 each we had so much food, probably enough for another person to join in!
I wouldn't hesitate coming back or recommending this place to others.
Looking for cheap and nice dumplings in the city? Flinders lane seems to the spot for it. There are 2-3 restaurants on the same block, all serving good/cheap dumplings. Dumplings at yum yum and the neighboring restaurants tend to be larger, thicker dumplings that will fill you up (not my favorite type, but still very tasty).
Love this place. Great prices, great dumplings every time. I particularly like the green beans with pork mince these days! It's our office's one stop shop when we all get cravings and it comes highly recommended from us!

Sensational. Typical Melbourne: down a laneway, hard to find, a dumpling bar which looks pretty non-descript. But you can get sensational plates of 15 Chinese dumplings for as little as $9. Add a bit of chilli and vinegar to your plate, and the name of the place says it all. They prepare the food in the front of the house (always a good sign) so you can see what you are eating. Better than average decor. The dumpings have the right mix of slightly crispy skins and moist insides too. We ate something, a pork pancake, which was great too. They keep refilling your Chinese tea and smile at you, Highly recommended for a quick snack.

Great dumplings and skewers. I've been here twice now, had mixed variety dumplings the first time, and second time stuck with my favourite pork and chive dumplings. After we ate we noticed skewers of meat arriving at a differnt table and ordered some - the lamb is very nice, quite fatty but very good (you must eat them while they are still hot), the lambs kidneys were a bit bland, and the chicken is spiced very nicely, I think anyone will like these.
Will be back for a super cheap, delicious meal. They had a lot of take out orders while we were there too, so I suspect they're good at everything they do.
Yum yum indeed. This place does what it says on the tin and I like that. The service isn't silver but the food is really tasty (all the noodles have excellent "wok hei"!), arrives nice and quickly and is cheap!
The dumplings are yum yum. Cheap and cheerful, always busy but service is pretty quick, good range of dishes, and the dumplings are great. Ideal for a quick takeaway, but also good for eating in. No fuss, nothing fancy, just good honest food.

Best hand made noodle!. I've been there several times already and this place is just excellent! The chef is very friendly and yes sometimes you will wait for a little while, yes it does not look fancy but the food is amazing ! The special hand made noodles with the chicken is a must try! I tried several dished and I have never been disappointed ! If you compare the price you pay and the taste and the quality of the food, it is really worth it ! It is also much better than the neighbour...will keep going there!

Yummy Dumplings. Good variety of dumplings in a handy CBD location. Stumbled across this place, well worth a visit.
Well hidden. Would have never guessed a good dumpling place had been hiding here all this while. The lamb stuffed buns and lamb skewers were amazing and worth a try. Service may be appalling but genuine and you just need to put up with it; it is somewhat above average and better than any other small Chinese eateries.
Great food and interesting choices. They offer food from North China so it might be different from your everyday Asian restaurants. The wontons were really beautiful and the skewers were tasty. Will be visiting again.
Don't go here for great service, it is comical at times but the food more than makes up for it. Exceptional

Another classic northern Chinese dish is hand pulled wheat noodles. Served with lamb, tomato, cabbage, onion and capsicum, what stands out about this style of noodles is their better flavour and firmer texture, closer to al dente pasta than your dry packet noodles. Nicely cooked what was best about this dish, other than the noodles themselves, was the delicious meaty/tomato juices at the bottom of the plate.
Ok, so this place isn't cheap, but what you get is some very decent Chinese food. Love the fact you can order small servings of dumplings... and for this meat lover, even the vegetarian ones are irresistible! Menu can sometime be a little misleading but hey, live on the wild side,... you might just discover your new favourite dish!

This is a lovely, simple, no frills eatery, not super attractive from the outside, but their poster of "xiao long bao" (soup dumplings) stopped me in my tracks, literally, as I haven't had this dish in a long while. We got in pretty early for lunch, the place was quite empty at around 1130am. We were greeted by their friendly but 'new' staff I think, as he asked us to sit at a 6x person table when we only had 2x, and quickly got corrected by the manager/owner when he happened to walk in just after us. Ah, it's all good. We aimed to have a quick bite, and that's what we got. Quick and easy. Well, I guess awesome timing, as the joint got super busy within half an hour after we sat down. We ordered 3 dishes, the xiao long bao, a spring onion pancake which is my all time fav as I used to make that with my dad when I was a kid, and, a steam pork and veg dumpling.
The xiao long bao was last to come but it was outstanding, tasty hot soup flowing out of the bun as soon as you bite into it.
The pan fried spring onion pancake was beautifully crispy on the outside, also tasty, but I found it to be a little too 'mushy' on the inside, but still, a decent enough pancake.
The steam dumplings were first to come. They were tasty, but could have been a little hotter (in temperature) as it was just luke warm, and the wrapping I found to be a little too "thick", I mean, I should say, I prefer the skin of the dumplings to be thin, so that I don't feel like I'm eating too much dough. Anyway, personal preference I guess.
Quick, easy, filling, tasty enough, and fair prices. What we ate was just a small part of what they offer. In fact, they have a massive menu! So we'll definitely try some of their other dishes next time. When I went to pay the bill, the lovely elderly lady behind the counter has the most amazing smile!! So to end the meal and be greeted with a happy face like hers, it got our afternoon off to a delightful start!!
It was my 1st time at Yum Yum Dumplings & with my friend. The food was amazing, the service was great, if you are looking for this..😌
