One of my top brunch places in CBD. They have such a cozy spot, where you can choose to sit in their more intimate space inside the cafe or to watch the crowds outside. Love how delicious and pretty their dishes are, top recommendation will be the burger! Can’t wait to be back after ISO ✨
It feels like Billy's cafes are popping up everywhere, but I'm not going to complain; because as far as chain cafes go, I actually think they are really good. They feel less generic than standard chains, and have a more comfortable and friendly feel. This particular cafe is conveniently located in Melbourne Central, so is a great spot for a coffee stop. They do have a full menu, but I find their pastries display to be so attractive that I usually just have coffee and cake.
Popping in on the week of Valentine's Day, the display had suitably love themed treats available, so we had a hear cookie, heart topped cupcake, and the lemon polenta cake. All the treats were delicious, and the cakes were so fresh and moist. Our coffee was also great, and the service is friendly and quick.
In such a busy location, the team at Billy's Central are doing a great job caffeinating shoppers and local workers. It's definitely not a difficult choice to stop here for a coffee break.
A nice place to sit and relax and have a coffee. I ordered the ice coffee. It was $6.50 and came in a takeaway plastic cup. There was a generous amount of ice cream in it and the coffee was aromatic. The coffee to milk ratio was perfect.
Been here a couple of times and still like it. Food tastes great, everything feels really fresh. This time I ordered pulled pork rolls and it’s defo a great choice. The veggie are fresh, bread is soft, the pork is tasty and eggs are cooked perfectly. What I love most is the sauce, all together is amazing and the portion is huge as well. Staffs here are really friendly and professional.
Billy's Central is one of my go to coffee spots in Melbourne Central. They get the coffee just right and it gets made quickly. I've also tried their cabinet food, I think it was the banana bread, which was nice.
The brunch menu looks great - will have to check it out next time.
Very good food and convenience location. Staff are very friendly. Definitely will visit again.
In recent years Billy's Central has popped up all over the state in various shopping centres kinda like The Coffee Club. The menu mimics the latest brunch trends offering hotcakes, french toasts, smashed avos with almost identical presentation, however the quality for each branch varies. I saw the French Toast in their instagram and just had to try it.
My Rating: 4.5
A quick lunch catch up with an ex-colleague in an easy to find, located indoors cafe is Billy's Lounge. That particular day it was raining so it was perfect to pick this place. The great thing is that they allow for table reservations which was easily done via Zomato.
🔆LOCATION🔆
Billy's Lounge is situated within Melbourne Central on Level 2, right next to the overpass bridge.
There is seating outside which faces the overpass bridge but it can get quite busy with many pedeastrians walking through. There is also seating inside the cafe, with table seating on both sides of the wall and in the middle is a long high table with high chairs which are suitable for solo or 2 people dining. I opt to sit inside towards to the back to avoid too much noise and people passing through.
🔆SERVICE🔆
Our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful. Provided us menu and water very promptly. Took our order very swiftly and within 15 minutes both our meals arrived on our tables.
🔆MENU/PRICE🔆
We ordered:
Aloha! Loco Moco, $22.00
(Grilled beef burger patty on bed of mixed grains with mushroom gravy and fried egg, served with blanched asparagus, grilled pineapple, squash, carrot, drizzled with truffle oil and crushed macadamia)
Portabello Mushroom Burger, $19.50
(Capsicum pesto, smashed avocado, roquette salad, grilled halloumi cheese in black bun served with beer-battered chips)
🔆VERDICT🔆
The Aloha! Loco Moco is from their Specials Menu and it was absolutely delicious. At first I thought the serving looked rather small but actually I discovered it was perfect portion. Only minor thing is there needs to be some kind of sauce, I felt that the dish was a little on the dry side without any sauce. If there was a small dish of the mushroom gravy on the side, I think it would have been perfect. The beef patty was grilled perfectly and the combination of grilled pineapple (sweet) and mixed vegetables of asparagus, squash and carrot was great. The slight taste of the mushroom gravy in the mixed grains was nice as it kept the grains moist.
My ex-colleague loved her Mushroom Burger. The portabello mushroom was quite big. The avocado and capsicum pesto was delicious, giving it good flavour to the burger as well as the halloumi cheese. Overall a stand out dish.
Everything on this plate is my favorite! And next time I wanna try other dishes~
Service was fantastic - friendly but not hovering!!! Definitely recommend and will be on our list of places to visit when in Melbourne.
Love the intimate seating here and the creativity of the dishes. The croissant benny dish was my fav! They make one of the best matcha lattes here too.
One of the nicer cafes in Melbourne central itself!
Didn’t get to try drinks here as we previously tried drink elsewhere.
Food here however was delicious!
The pea pancake was packed full of peas yet somehow still fluffy and soft. It was not oily or overly densed.
The pumpkin fritters were charred nicely (not too burnt although it did look a little burnt). Loved the cranberry molasses, sweet yet savory at the same time. Pumpkin wedge was roasted to perfection.
We both agree that the poached eggs on both dishes were done perfectly :) which is really what make or break cafe food quality!
Would definitely return here again and always happy to know there is a go to place for me if I need to grab a good meal with friends before going separate ways at a main train station.
Stopped in for a late afternoon lunch after a long flight on a weekday, so the place is pretty quiet. But service was prompt and friendly.
Debated between something sweet or savoury and landed on the Asian Scrambled (w/ extra chorizo). One of the tastiest scrambled I’ve ever had. Absolutely spot on for flavour. Nice heat from the chilli without masking all the other flavours, and cooked perfectly.
Had a blueberry and banana smoothie to round off a really delicious and filling meal. Going to come back one day for the tiramisu hot cakes for sure.
Place has a casual vibe half indoor where it’s quieter and half spilling into the shopping centre, where you have shoppers meandering past.
Great meal, reasonable price.
PS : the communal table has universal power adapters - presumably to cater to the international clientele who drop in with their laptops.
so good! customer service was amazing and the place was very clean and tidy. it had great vibes and the food was amazing!! (just a little pricey)
OMG! What a lovely brunch place, we definitely enjoyed our brunch here, food was amazing and service was great! My mum and i were so full, and price was not bad. Easy to find location and beautiful deco inside.
I will be come wirh my friends next week!
We’ve read so many ads on a wechater, and now we finally came to the place to see what’s special in. We ordered chicken&waffle and beef brisket Benny. Generally speaking, food was very good. Beef was well slow-cooked, with fresh and sour veggies. Unfortunately, toast was just too hard to slice apart, esp crusts. For the other one, even though it sounds weird to put chicken n waffle tgt(by Sheldon), it tasted amazing actually.
Came here for brunch and was tossing up between a sweet or savory dish. Decided to go savory with a hot choc. Delicious food in an interesting setting. Hot choc was so-so.
Food: 4/5
Service: 3/5
Ambiance: 4/5
My partner and I went to this cafe on sunday for brunch. Great and quick service. Loved the atmosphere and the menu was quite extensive. There was just a bit of flavour missing in the food as we found both the dishes a bit bland. But will go back to try other dishes on the menu.
The atmosphere here is really good, and the food here is super yum and with quite enough portion. Price is reasonable. Definitely come back again.
I come to Billy’s central time and time again. It’s super close to my CrossFit box so it is always the Saturday Brunch go to.
It’s nothing fancy but it’s always consistent and tasty which is just what you need after a workout!
I always get the eggs on toast with bacon and mushrooms. It’s good as you get 2 slices of sourdough!
The staff are usually pretty good and attentive.
It’s a good eat for a quick meal definitely if you’re also doing a big of shopping!!
7/10 nothing special but will do

Hidden gem in Melbourne Central, great coffee and eggs Benny, i work in Melbourne Central so it's good to have a place with consistency and fair prices
A lovely tucked away cafe on the second level of Melbourne Central. With such unique flavours like their soft shell crab eggs benedict to their espresso tiramisu, Billy’s central is every foodie’s delight
We came here using a buy one main, get one main free voucher. The menu is quite attractive, with some crowd favourites like the ones we ordered, which were the soft shelled crab benedict croissant, and the pork benny. My wife also ordered a decaf iced coffee which she enjoyed.
The pork benny was quite good with a generous amount of pulled pork on top of a homemade hash brown. The hash brown was much like a thick roesti and had a crispy outside and soft but still defined (not mushy) inside. I enjoyed both of it. Both stacks were topped with a poached egg each and chilli hollandaise. The heat from the chilli could be tasted but wasn't too strong. The accompanying salad was tasty too. For the regular price of $18 it was decent value for money, considering this is brunch food which always goes for a little more.
The soft shelled crab was $23 and I didn't think it was worth it. Everything on the plate was good, from the croissant that was very flaky and light, to the soft shell crab, crispy kale, poached egg and hollandaise. However, they really only gave half a soft shelled crab, and only one poached egg. If you compare this dish to the very similar dish at White Mojo, there you would get 2 eggs and basically the entire crab, along with some other fine accompaniments like eel, for only a couple of dollars more. I'd generally consider white Mojo expensive, but nevertheless it is better value for money than ordering the same dish here.
In terms of ambience, there are seats inside the store as well as in the walkway outside (both indoors). Decor was modern and inviting. However, we found the spot lights inside the store slightly warm so we moved to sit outside the store instead. Staff were friendly and accommodating. I like that this place isn't as crowded as some other brunch venues and is in a convenient location, so I'd consider coming back for the pork (but not the crab).
Went to Billy’s Central on a week day at lunch time. It was empty.. I love going to buzzing cafes because I really like the vibe, needless to say theres no vibe here.
Coffee was nice, I ordered the panna cotta and friend ordered the chilli eggs. Food was nice too. My Panna cotta was quite refreshing on a hot day with fresh mango, dragon fruit (I love dragon fruit), lychee, strawberries etc. Had a bite of friend’s Chilli eggs it was quite nice. Will stop by if Im shopping in Melbourne Central during the day again.
I chose Billy’s Central for my birthday lunch, and it was the best decision I’ve made 😁😁 The menu is diverse, from gluten free to vegetarian options 👌🏼👌🏼I tried the Pulled Pork Benedicts and Smoked Salmon & Fritters, both were AMAZING! It will give you a new view of shopping mall’s restaurant. And if you haven’t ever tried brunch, this is a great start for your adventure 😉
I visited the place on a weekday morning, it was really quiet but the place has a really cozy and welcoming ambiance.
The food was awesome! The sauce has a little kick to it but I personally did not like the hashbrown underneath the pork, other than that.. it was perfect.
The staff were friendly and attentive. The food arrived within 5 mins.
Would like to come back on a weekend brunch rush 😋
Overall: 4.5/5 🙂

One of my favourite cafes in Melbourne CBD❤️
Good for Value 🤩
It’s way better than the Hardware xxxxxx LOL and no long queue 🤫
Place to be ♥️ when your done with your shopping this place is great to stop by. Very friendly service and food was delicious. Food came to the table with in 15 minutes.
The best breakfast board that I have had! The juice was unexpectedly a large glass also, and croissant delicious! I did add a side of bacon that was also cooked perfectly!! Do not underestimate this place!
Came here with my wife a few days ago.
I ordered the chicken and mango salad which I saw it in the sneakpeak review.
This dish is one of the best salad I had tried.
I can't wait till the next time I am here.
I will definitely try out all the sneakpeak items first.
Place to be !!When you are tired of shopping , this place is where you want to go. Friendly, prompt service. The food is amazing and portion sizes are good!! I loved the rose buttermilk panna cotta!! Will definitely go back!!
4/5 : service
4/5 : price
4/5 : food is actually decent
The big breakky was pretty good, though i hate the sausage it doesn’t taste good, the rest is awesome
**3.5 stars** A cafe with a nice atmosphere, located inside Melbourne Central. Honestly, I’m not going to be fussy with this one because you can’t expect much for a cafe inside a bustling shopping centre. And in fact, it’s not that bad. Given that this cafe has already nailed the visual presentation, all it really needs to do now is focus on the flavours of its dishes. I think my partner and I have had over 30 ‘Smashed Avocados’ (at least) in these past few months, so immediately, we could taste the difference in this avocado that we ate. It wasn’t as fresh… The toast on the other hand could have done with an additional spread of butter or oil as well (to help make the bread softer). For $18, one would have hoped to see two sourdoughs with this classic brunch plate… Anyway, the ‘Tiramisu hotcake’ turned out much better. Lots of sweetness to go with the pancakes. No overwhelming flavours, so nothing too special. $18.5 is a justifiable price for this one. (The portion size is generous and fill you up, no problem.)
The drinks that we ordered were the turmeric latte & the matcha latte. Both were smooth and didn’t need extra sugar.
Overall: Staff are friendly, service is prompt, the ambience is relaxing and the food & drinks, not bad.
The location is super convenient and the food is good. I am happy with the service so will come back with my friends. Wish they could have some more fresh fruit dish without pudding or jams.
Went on a weekday just recently - Black Friday - Melbourne Central was so busy
Food was beautiful, I got some prawns on the side too
Cold brew coffee - yum
Scrambled eggs very tasty but a little bit too much dried onion on top
Cosy seating too
Waitress was very nice
Place was easy to find 😁🤓😋🌺
Friendly staff, great coffee and very quick to answer my queries on social media *thumbs up* I’m yet to try the food but from the look of what others have ordered...I’ll definitely have to try them all on my next visit :)
Love love love their big breakfast!
Isn’t a cheap option but definitely worth the price.
If you’re a girl with a small stomach you could share the food with your bestie cuz the portion is HUGE!
Staffs are friendly and helpful. Environment is nice with cute decoration.
Excellent restaurant! Friendly and professional staff, great food, amazing coffee. Cosy atmosphere and set up. Really liked the soft shell Benedict on croissant but was disappointed with only half soft shell crab so minus 1 star
I had been there after one of those fasting blood tests and to tell you, the breakfast is amazing. Their food spread is great with good options as add-ons. Service is very friendly, always serve with a smile. The location is a bit weird with all the renovation and construction going around but the ambiance is speechless. Great service, friendly staff and awesome food
If you're around Melbourne Central, you should definitely check this place out. Good variety of food and they serve them quick. It's located on the 2nd level of Melbourne Central. I'd recommend the salmon and fritters!
A nice place to stop by after shopping in Melbourne central or Emporium. One of my favourite brunch places. 💓 The brunch here is good and they serve good coffee and drinks. The customer service is good too. I would love to stop by here another time to try out other meals and desserts!
The atmosphere is warm and squishy. The menu and the decoration reminded us of the Korean-style restaurant. Amazing soft shell crab bennedict croissant that went well with deep fried kale. The special desert of the day - Tiramisu hotcake was perfect to wrap up a beautiful afternoon. Staffs were so nice and friendly. They were willing to share what you concerns about the recipe. Will come back some days soon.
Their menu is awesome. I really love the range of choices (made me want to try them all). The food is very presentable, the taste is great. The portions are really big though, definitely worth the price. We ordered 2 meals and chips to share, and they were too much for 2 people. Staffs are very kind and lovely. I think it’s a good place to have a meal and talk with friends or coworkers. They also put amazing decorations on the table and around the shop (so it is instagram worthy, lol). I just love the ambience around there.
We decided to venture into town for some nice brunch and ended up deciding on Billy’s. The menu was standard with some Asian fusion choices. We ended up having kimchi pancake with pork belly, chilli scrambled eggs and Asian mushrooms. We found the pancake quite oily and fatty. The scrambled eggs had a nice kick of chilli and mushrooms dish was satisfactory.
Based on fast service and convenience - would definitely come back.
We had breakfast here on a rainy Saturday morning.
Food: we ordered the Asian chilli scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and the crumbed haloumi, poached egg with mashed peas and crispy kale. Food was amazing! Expertly presented and brimming with flavour and texture this was one of the best breakfasts I've eaten. The kale melted in your mouth and the scrambled eggs' spice danced on the tongue! Coffees were also top notch.
Service: very friendly and quick. Food came out in less than 10 min which was rapid given the precision and presentation.
Value: cost $49 for two people all up with a mocha and coffee so pretty standard. Still better than other breakfasts I've had in Sydney so Melbourne is premium :)
One of the best cafès in Melbourne Central. I liked everything they served, especially the hashbrown! I love that they made it house made. Everything that’s included in this big breakfast has its own unique and authentic flavour. It didn’t taste like its from a can of beans from the local supermarket. Will definitely give it another try. ☺️
Great place for lunch as it's centrally located, but it's in a weird tucked away corner in the upper levels of Melbourne Central.
Billy's has a few branches around and I'm quite surprised how good the quality and presentation of food is.
* Billy's Big Breakfast comes with many of the usual suspects like eggs, hash brown, mushrooms, tomato, bacon, sausage and beans, but the execution feels more healthy and home-style rather than a greasy fry-up. Love the beetroot puree.
* The lamb dish was a special which included tender marinated lean lamb pieces, chargrilled corn, roasted cauliflower, beetroot puree, toasted pita and a fried egg sunny side up. Perfect combination, I didn't feel like it was an unhealthy dish either.
Friendly staff, open seating, it's a good option for team lunches.
This is a nice cafe located in Melbourne Central (Level 2, near the walkway joining to Emporium) with a range of dishes and drinks. I had the soft shell crab eggs benedict which was pretty good. The portion wasn’t too large so it didn’t feel too heavy to eat by yourself. I also recommend the Asian mushrooms dish was also really delicious. The coffee is also pretty good and the service staff were great.
We had been wanting to come here for a while, and we finally got chance to come today. We were very glad Billy didn’t disappoint us, instead we really enjoyed our meals. Coffee was good, service was good, food was great. Really nothing to complain about this place. Maybe only one thing that the scrambled eggs can have more flavour, I had to add a lot of salt and pepper. But overall this place is definitely in our top five list and we wish it was much closer to where we live. Highly recommend💪🏻
Love the food and love the coffee and love their breakfast. Very close to where i work. Very attentive staff I would go back there again next week.
My friend found this place online, which it is not usual place we would go every time we shopping at city. The soft shell crab was nice, and both of us ordered these. Coffee was cute. A nice place for stop by, will defiantly bring friends next time.
Caught up with a friend for brunch here on the weekend and we enjoyed it! Got the soft shell crab croissant which was delicious and came with crispy kale mmn nmmn. My friend got the zucchini super salad which came in a large portion. I felt thirsty when I got home but it was worth it
Great location, good food. Nice place for catch up in the city. They update menu regularly, tried their soft shell crab croissants today, it's so yum, definitely come back again
3.5 Just by the Emporium link bridge, Billy’s Central Cafe offers all day breakfast and lunch, and is conveniently situated for all your shopping needs!. Billy’s Central has the...
Purposely found and went to Billy’s central for late lunch!! Ive always wanted to try it :) ordered the avocado smash and salmon dukkah bread
The good:
- wait staff are soooo nice and catering and warm and friendly and attentive. The reviews below said it and my experience confirmed it.
- not even that busy during lunch hours and interior seating was beautiful, relatively spacious and neat. Good for one-on-one.
- food came out relatively promptly and portions are good.
Not so good:
- maybe the music was a bit too loud at one stage? That’s about it.
Definitely definitely coming back here. It’s a hidden gem even tho it’s at the heart of the CBD, trust me, you’ll find more attention, quality and seating here, than most laneway places :) give it a try :3
Billy’s Central is an upmarket and chic café inside Melbourne Central in the CBD. Decked out in Scandi light timber, from floor to ceiling and tables and chairs with black and green cushions to add that pop of colour, Billy’s is certainly welcoming and offers an informal dining experience like no other. The cafe is made up of an open seating area along with a small booth offering coffee and snacks as well as a private dining area with the kitchen. The extensive menu is most varied with many cuisines and a focus on flavour and healthy eating.
We went to Billy’s for lunch on a Monday and decided to sit in the private dining area which was relatively quiet. We ordered the Chilli Steak which is on the new winter menu, along with the Zucchini Super Salad with chicken and the Dark Chocolate Hot Cake – which is like a pancake and surprisingly doesn’t come as a dessert but as part of the All Day Menu! The Chilli Steak was accompanied with some truly flavoursome gnocchi which made the dish very satisfying. The steak was juicy and tasty and cooked to perfection - medium. The Zucchini Super Salad was magnificent! Presented in an extremely creative way by keeping the eggshell on the poached egg (see photo) it tasted amazing. Such great flavours in the dish especially the sweet corn topped with the sweet lime vinaigrette. Our favourite dish was the Dark Hot Chocolate Cake accompanied with raspberries, meringue crumbs, apple sorbet and a really tangy raspberry infused almond milk. The pancake-like cake was fluffy and rich and the berries and the apple sorbet added that tangy and zesty hit which cut through the chocolate sweetness perfectly.
For drinks, we had the Avocado smoothie – a bit different but delicious. We found the customer service right on point with super friendly staff that was eager to please and most attentive. Overall, we enjoyed an incredible experience at Billy’s Central. In the middle of your busy shopping day, this is the perfect place to relax and reboot before continuing shopping!!
Had such a delicious brunch here today. We ordered the avocado+berry smoothies, the KFC bao and the delicious raspberry French toast! Not only was the presentation of the dishes and drinks lovely, the flavours and taste were also spot on 👌👌 I love the location of this place as it is such a close walk from the train station so saves me the effort of looking for a parking spot 🙌🏼 Cannot wait to come back :)

After a day at ACMI and stuffing our faces with dumplings, we needed a coffee hit because, well, that’s what you do in Melbourne. Since we were shopping at Melbourne Central, we stopped by Billy’s Central in the middle of the walkway. There’s also an actual eatery on the side so head into there if you wanted some sustenance. We got a mocha and boy oh boy was this AWESOME SAUCE. The coffee was smooth, it was the caffeine hit we needed and the chocolate was not overly sweet. It was just perfect.
Billy’s Central is an unexpectedly good cafe located in an innocuous location between Emporium and Melbourne Central. Although there are some seats in the thoroughfare, there is also an enclosed area giving a more private and cafe feel.
The menu is quite massive with heaps of variety and they also had a seasonal winter menu! We had the Dippy Eggs ($12 with added bacon crumb $3) from the regular menu and the Savoury French Toast ($21) from the winter menu. Both were beautifully presented and very generous in size - we were absolutely stuffed when we left! The dishes were elevated beyond what you would expect from a typical shopping centre cafe with luxe ingredients such as the pecorino cheese and truffle oil on the dippy egg soldiers, and beautifully soft pork and roasted fennel in the french toast.
Definitely recommend if you’re in the area and craving a good cup of coffee and something to eat!
It was sunday morning, I got invited to come and visit Billy’s Central to try their menu. Billy Centrals is located in the melbourne central shop level 2. Upon my arrival i was greeted by the staff and she take me to my table.
FOOD
Chai latte was great, had a good consistency.
The House made pastry was baked perfectly and light. the filling of puff pastry, there was chocolate coated and vanilla coated cream. Not too sweet and taste house made remind me of home. The cookies was crunchy and Its gluten free too!
Soft Shell Crab Croissant was delicious, full of flavours, soft shell crab was juicy & luscious, the croissant was crunchy & appealing, all was seasoned perfectly. However its a bit oily.
Pan Seared Salmon Risotto was so rich of cream and cheese. The salmon was so good!perfectly cooked and seasoned. Crunchy skin and the risotto was savoury, good combination in the middle of winter.
The staffs was very friendly and attentive. The place and the ambience was comfortable and close to my place.
Overall, Thanks James for inviting me, and it was a pleasure to come here in the morning and meeting all the staffs that were so nice to me! It was such a pleasurable experience for me. Thank you!

Had a really noteworthy experience at Bill's Central!
It is a super conveniently located cafe that serves some delicious food and provides great service!
Food
🔹️ Dark Chocolate Hot Cake- this dish is an absolute must try! Officially one of my favorite hot cakes and definitely one of the best items on the menu! 👌🏽 I cannot recommend this dish enough.
🔹️ Smashed avo- bread was a bit hard but other than that the dish was pretty good. As such, cant go wrong with smashed avo!
🔹️ Breakfast board- yeah not my favorite. Did not enjoy this dish much. The smoothie was nice but the food was a bit dry and lacked flavor.
Drinks
🔹️ Coffee- was very nice. Strong and smooth.
🔹️Chocolate shake- may be a bit sweet for some people but nice otherwise.
Overall, wonderful spot for some delicious food.
Soul food with good service.
Ordered the steak sandwich off the Lunch menu. The chips were great and crispy and the sandwich was pretty good too. The only thing I would comment on is the oiliness of the entire sandwich (hands were covered in oil when I picked it up); and the bread was far too toasted and was rock hard.
However, this little shop hidden away between Emporium and Melbourne Central has a great range of food on offer and is quite a quaint place to catch up with friends over coffee at!
Real rating 3.5 ⭐️
We were there during lunch time and the food we had was pretty good.
Brekkie board - this concept was pretty clever as it provided a well balanced meal. The pulled pork slider complemented the granola bowl and yoghurt and is topped off with orange juice! Who wouldn’t want this? 😍
Chicken katsu burger - appearances can be deceiving. Though the burger looked a bit plain, the chicken katsu was well cooked and tasted lovely! Wouldn’t mind having that again! 👍
Banana waffle - this was on the specials and overall it tasted average as the waffle was not puffy and a bit soggy. The Oreos and poached pear had made up for this.
Overall experience was good as the area was spacious and food portions were generous. Keep up the good work! 🙌
If you are looking for a good brunch place with special, unique tastes and flavours, changing up your usual eggs Benedict and avocado, look no further than Billy's Central. A cafe and restaurant hybrid, the ambience and decor of this establishment is exceptional. Modern design and cushions inside ensure that your experience is of the highest quality, whilst staff are meticulously pleasant and there to help and recommend.
Today we opted for the recommended soft shell crab croissant and also the salmon dish, with a side of chai latte. Let's start with the chai. Exceptional, infact the best I have ever had. The absolute perfect balance between spice and creamy flavour- a must for all latte lovers. The soft shell crab croissant was oozing with flavour, the crab meat tender and accompanied by a host of chillies, sauces and condiments that added a very unique taste to the dish. If you like your spices and an extra punch of flavour, this place is for you.
The highlight perhaps was the grilled salmon, which was again, the best we have tasted. Cooked to perfection, melt off the bone goodness. WOW. The flavours and sauces used really draw out a unique flavour and one that sets this Restaurant apart from the rest.
We highly recommend Billy's Central, and it is definitely one of the better brunch places in Melbourne's CBD!

Billy's central strategically located between Melb Central and Emporium, it gives patrons an easy access to come to this place whenever in need a place to rest from shopping or just a place to have good chat with friends.
I'm so fortunate to be invited to come and visit Billy's central, and so I came during lunch hour on one of the weekdays.
They have an extensive range of menu to choose, from parma to pasta, fish and chips to crab omelette.
I ordered a latte, Korean burger with sesame bun and chips as side dishes and ice chocolate for my dessert.
Latte had great consistency, maybe if I have to be very picky, I prefer the coffee to be a bit stronger, but that's just my personal preference.
The Korean burger was a delish! Sesame bun was soft, the chicken cooked perfectly and grilled corn kernels gave a great textures to the burger.
Chips wasn't oily and fried beautifully as well.
Ice chocolate had a good chocolatey taste and it was very filling.
Service was quick and staff were friendly and attentive.
Thank you for the invite, and it really was a pleasure to come and had my lunch at Billy's central, from hot drinks to dessert, they were all gorgeous.
4.5
We loved our dining experience at Billy’s Central. It’s a gem, a 4.5 for me. You can have breakfast here, you can have lunch. My friend and I had one each making for an early brunch that we enjoyed immensely.
Billy’s Central is located on level 2, at Melbourne Central. It has an open area and a more closed one. It is a fantastic little diner with a new, welcoming fitout with lovely, attentive service. It sits at the end of the bridge into Emporium. Half of the bridge is currently closed, which may be affecting the flow of customers, as this place should be absolutely full.
We liked the menu which consists of an extensive list of all day options plus winter specials. There’s lots to choose from, and the choices are impressive. My dining companion is a fine individual and a cook and food critic of some note. I asked him to pen some thoughts on his carefully ordered menu choice. He reported that -
“The calamari salad was superb. Beautiful calamari cooked crisply with a very light batter. Cooked to perfection. It was tossed through a meticulously prepared and beautifully dressed salad of mixed greens, chick peas, shaved red cabbage and carrot, cherry tomato and freshly baked beetroot. The aoili accompanying the calamari was delicately balanced, not too rich, but with a touch of piquancy and chilli (ie not a cheap sweet chilli sauce imitation). Fresh and delightful.”
High praise indeed.
I sought advice from the lovely server about my menu choice. I’m a breakfast guy at heart and couldn’t decide between the big brekkie and the breakfast board, both of which held enormous appeal. I was mindful that the world’s most beautiful woman had been critical of me recently for my love of big brekkies. The server’s advice was therefore critical and was that the breakfast board was to be preferred.
I’m delighted to report that the server’s advice was spot on. The breakfast board was wonderful. I’m a muesli and whole grain nut. I have been my whole life, fortified most recently by authoritative Harvard research. Let me say that this muesli is an absolute out and out cracker. Full of gorgeous nuts and grains and delicately sweetened with honey, it is both delicious and healthy. The accompanying watermelon smoothie is a beauty too. Soft, delicate and flavoursome. The salmon was cooked superbly as well. It was lovely, pink and moist with a beautiful crispy smoky skin. You can’t cook fish much better than this. A lot of care had been taken to cook it well and the care showed. The egg too was cooked softly and beautifully. My only slight concern with the dish was with the crumpet or potato rosti which was a little too chewy but better when softened by some egg. It was not a major issue and I happily ate it all. Overall, this breakfast board is excellent.
We shared a nice Pinot Grigio from the small wine list which is well pitched for the style of venue. Yes, I had wine with a breakfast dish because that works for me.
I asked my friend to sum up the dining experience and he did that wonderfully -
“We had a fantastic time. Billy’s Central is a must try when you’re around this area of town.
We finished our meal by sharing a lemon and coconut slice, with a long black coffee. The coffee was perfectly made and the lemon slice delicious. The chef here has a firm grasp of the relationship between citrus and sweet, and this slice was no exception. At first I thought it was too dense, but ultimately the density and texture perfectly set off the citrus, sweet sour balance. Billy’s Central also have an amazing selection of other sweet treats. I wanted to try them but we had already consumed an elegant sufficiency!”
Thank you to Billy’s Central manager James, the excellent staff and Billy’s Central itself for the invitation. We loved our experience here. This is a terrific and well run cafe. It is a very sound breakfast, brunch or lunch option and we will be back.
Billy's Central is a lovely cafe with a unique concept and lovely aesthetic. We had the privilege of trying out the new Winter menu, and gave the Korean Fried Chicken Bao, Soft Shell Croissant Benedict, Prawn and Chargrilled Corn and Sweet Potato Croquette a try. The Chicken Bao is very popular - however I found the chicken to be a bit dry and it could definitely do with some sauce. The sweet potato croquette comprised of a blend of unique flavours - which could still be a bit more finely tuned. I'd recommend the soft shell croissant benedict - this one was definitely to die for. To finish with, we ordered the Banana Egg Waffle as a dessert. This dish was my favourite - a beautifully presented and well thought-out plate of fruit, egg waffle, custard (I think?) and Oreos. I really enjoyed this dish - but was a bit confused as to what was stated on the menu (blueberry porridge, coconut chips and vanilla and mango mousse?) - it was not as described at all, but delicious nonetheless. I commend the food presentation here - I also found the portion sizes to be perfect.
The staff here were very friendly and helpful, and the owner is also very kind and open to feedback. This place has great potential, and I look forward to coming back and trying the new, refined menu in the future.

Billy’s central cafe is located on level2 Melbourne central. Love their good decorations and bright ambience. The interior is so clean and must be the one of the most instagramable cafe. Service is outstanding and the manager is friendly.
Melb central 2楼 装修很漂亮 来得早 人不会很多.
Soft shell crab with croissant Benedict— This dish is well presented and wow-ed me. It’s not too salty or oily. Crab is crispy, the sauce was amazing and the croissant is freshly baked. If you think white mojo is good, this is definitely better!
Slow braised pork short rib Benedict- The hamburger bun was a bit dry and was not toasted enough but the pork is well seasoned. It’s kinda sweet rather than savoury. There’s smashed sweet potatoes and beetroot in it. Anyways, it’s quite special for me.
Super berry smoothies- the smoothies is rich of taste and wasn’t too thick with the combinations of honey , yogurt and milk. 混合莓 酸奶 和牛奶打出来的奶昔 颜色好看 味道浓 好喝 不会太冰. 喜欢香蕉的也可以点他们的Banana blender smoothies 也是很不错的.
Blueberry cheesecake- creamy, smooth and divine cheesecake. It’s perfect to end this food journey with it. 不会太甜腻 完美.
Thanks for inviting me here. Overall, we enjoyed our meal at Billy’s central. The meal is well presented , generous portion and definitely can take beautiful photos. Taste was quite good. Definitely a new brunch spots on my list and wiill definitely return! Highly recommend that you guys check this out!!!
他们也推出了冬季限定菜单 都是店家精心研发出来的. 最重要价格不贵,味道好. 服务员都很亲切 环境很安逸 ,非常建议大家来尝尝!! 下一家网红餐厅就是Billy central 啦!!!
Billy’s Central is a cute and cosy cafe conveniently located in Melbourne Central. With its modern aesthetics and warmly lit interior, it definitely can’t be missed! They also have a stall in the front, and you have the option of dining outside or inside the cafe. On our visit, we sat inside which was more quiet and the atmosphere was more homey.
To start, I went for a long black, and my friends had a soy chai latte and a berry smoothie. The drinks are definitely very pretty, and the smoothie was served in a cute jar. The chai latte was nice a fragrant and quite sweet, and the coffee is quite decent and well-balanced!
For food, we tried four of their dishes on the new Winter menu - the prawn and chargrilled corn sweet potato croquette, the Korean fried chicken bao, the soft shell croissant Benedict, and the banana egg waffle. For all the dishes, the portion sizes were fantastic!
The soft shell benedict was definitely the stand-out dish and I would highly recommend it! The crab is crispy and warm and they definitely don’t skimp on it! The hollandaise sauce was amazing and brought the whole dish together.
The fried chicken bao was on the dry side, and could’ve done with some sauce. However the kimchi was very nice - could definitely do more of it!
The croquettes were slightly dry and crumbly, but were balanced out when paired with the perfectly cooked creamy scrambled eggs.
The banana egg waffles could’ve been more crispy, however I liked that it wasn’t overly sweet and full of banana flavour and fruit - a nice way to finish off the meal!
The service here is outstanding and we were well taken care of the whole time. The manager is extremely friendly and very open to feedback and suggestions. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here and I would highly recommend checking this place out!
Thank you for the invite, and I can’t wait to come back again to try the new menu!
I've visited Billy's on 3 seperate occasions now and never been disappointed! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the staff are very attentive. I tried the Dippy Eggs, Breakfast Board and the Soft Shell Crab Benedict Croissant off their winter menu! Couldn't fault any of these dishes.
A few other things I appreciate when visiting Billy's:
1. The portion sizes are very generous.
2. Each dish always has a variety of flavours.
3. The staff and management appreciate and are open to feedback.
4. There's free Wi-Fi !
The Matcha lattes are also delicious. I've had my fair share at a variety of cafes and appreciate that Billy's is not too sweet nor too bitter. True matcha lovers, this one is for you! If avocado also tickles your fancy then you shouldn't look past the avocado smoothie either. It is very filling though so keep this in mind when you're ordering it with food!!
Wow I never knew that there was such a amazing cafe over in Melbourne central until today.
.
Ordered the American dinner style breakfast . Portions were huge and I ordered add on such as the crispy fried chicken.
So juicy and the pancakes were so fluffy. Eggs could be done the way you prefer
.
Had the other dish of the day : the chicken waffle . So good . Love the beautifully fried crispy chicken together with the egg waffles .
Drizzled with maple syrup that was heaven.
Also got in house brewed iced coffee with ice cream and it was so good and it gave me the caffeine to continue shopping !
.
I would come back again for this amazing brunch experience
This is my second time eating at this cafe. They have a new menu, and great to see that the dishes are so tempting as usual! It’s hard to decide what we should have.
Presentation and taste are excellent, and service is great too. Would recommend you try out this place for brunch the next time you are in Melbourne Central.
Would be great if the tea is served with tea leaves instead of tea bag.
I can see why Billy's was so busy on my Sunday morning brunch, this is such a great cafe!
A very good menu, we had 3 different dishes that all tasted amazing. The coffee was on point and the presentation of everything was beautiful.
The ingredients were all fresh and really good quality, I would definitely come back to visit.
Now here is a place that puts up a fantastic brunch menu. The menu has something for everyone. The best thing is this place is conveniently located in Melbourne Central @melbournecentral so you can satisfy your shopping appetite after a big brunch! 🛍😋😁
𝙎𝙝𝙖𝙠𝙨𝙝𝙪𝙠𝙖 - two perfectly poached eggs in a spiced tomato and capsicum sugo with crumbled feta and drizzled with pesto. It is just heavenly dipping your toasted turkish bread in this rich and comforting sauce.
𝙍𝙝𝙪𝙗𝙖𝙧𝙗 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘾𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙋𝙖𝙣𝙣𝙖𝙘𝙤𝙩𝙩𝙖- served with house made granola, orange coyo and mixed berries. Excellent presentation and the granola contrasts nicely with the custard pannacotta. The berries also adds a freshness to each bite.
𝙆𝙤𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙣 𝘽𝙪𝙧𝙜𝙚𝙧 - served with chips and aioli. Delicious! Juicy chicken coated in a crispy batter in a milk bun with all the trimmings.
𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙘𝙝𝙖 𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚 🍵
𝘽𝙡𝙪𝙚𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙧𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙗𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙖 𝙨𝙢𝙤𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙚 🫐
Love the ambience of this place. Has indoor and outdoor seating and the owner James was super nice. Highly recommended! 😋😋😋😋
A nice and hidden place for weekday brunch. Chicken waffle and chilli scramble are both delicious. I love they used the green chilies instead of red ones. Definitely could enjoy your meal in the heart of CBD.
@billyscentral is where you need to be this weekend for a sumptuous brunch feast. Located inside @melbournecentral this cafe specialises in great quality coffee, breakfast and brunch dishes, both sweet and savoury, and smoothies.
Everything on the menu is truly extraordinary, different and is packed with so many lovely flavours.
What we had here:
Tiramisu hotcakes, oh my this was absolutely indulgent, decadent and very irresistible, loved the fact that it wasn’t too sweet or intense with flavours but perfectly balanced for a yummy morning breakfast. Must try
Billy Bowl, start your morning with something fresh and healthy by ordering this dish with field mushrooms, so many elements put together in a tasty way. Definitely a must try!
Chicken waffle, if it’s your cheat day of the week, then must order this delicious bubble waffle, with bacon, eggs, fried chicken, Asian herbs, mayo, sesame seeds and maple syrup. Loved it.
We also had a green smoothie, super filling and will keep you full for a very long time.
And matcha latte and a regular latte, I’m definitely coming back for the matcha one, since it was made in the right way.
Moreover, the prices are all very reasonable, compared to the best quality breakfast and brunch dishes they serve here. The service is friendly and quick and the team of staff and manager are all very lovely, attentive and kind humans.
It’s located inside a shopping Center’s green oasis on the skybridge between @emporiummelbourne and @melbournecentral so you can expect only good vibes here.
Highly recommend this cafe @billyscentral to all my foodie friends.
Having walked past this cafe for years in MC, I finally gave it a try and it did not disappoint. They have some classic brunch dishes, as well a cool unique twist on a chicken waffle by doing it on crispy HK egg bubble waffles! The serving portion for the shakshuka was also very generous - not enough bread to soak it all up! My favourite was the panna cotta with a very rich and creamy vanilla flavour.
Perfect location, great portions and delicious food. Highly recommend stopping by if you want a quick bite without the hustle and bustle of the typical brunch cafes.
