Bobbie Peels is a great pub with very decent food. Awesome Wednesday trivia crowd. We come weekly.
Bobbie Peels might not seem much but this pub is a friendly atmosphere and easy going vibe. Pub snacks are delicious and quick. Alcohol is a reasonable price and bar staff are super chilled and lovely! A good pub for after work drinks and to chill in be cute outdoor part that no one seems to know about!
Regularly visit this place. Brilliant service, beer and food - the cornpop chicken is a must! The host Tony is very welcoming and always up for a chat. Highly recommended this place if you are looking for a tasty feed and great beer.
Bobbie peels has a great trivia night on Wednesday night with a delicious ribs special. However I went for the chicken and leek pie and it was delicious! The food is made very well, lots of complimentary flavours and it looks really appealing! We had the popcorn chicken which was delicious and plentiful. The service is great, the barman (owner?) is super friendly and welcoming! Great menu!
We were stuck in horrendous traffic and saw Bobbie Peels as we were waiting and decided to grab some food to wait for the traffic to die down. And very unexpectedly, it was lovely!!
Staff were great and food was top notch! Special mention to the fish tacos which are a little pricy but very VERY worth their money!! 🌮🌮
I had the kingfish, and it was amazing!!!! Would come back tomorrow. My friends had the lamb shoulder which I tried and it was spectacular. Only bad comment is the music but it's so worth it!
Love this place ! But we miss the pork sliders and the poutine. But the new menu is fantastic. The owner is a champ,Great craft beer too. Yummy yummy yummy :)
Great pub, awesome menu, very friendly staff. This is a hidden gem in North Melbourne. Great old school feel, the old phones are cool! The menu is based on sharing and different sizes with great selection of wines and craft beers.
The menu has recently changed with the spicy chicken wings, cornpop chicken, open lamb souvlaki, beef ribs and chilli fries being great autumn food.
Great, friendly pub with an open fire! The food is cheap, sophisticated and hearty. Highly recommend! They even have board games and jenga to play on a lazy sunday.
Came highly recommended by a friend who used to visit when was the crimean, wasn't a fan previously of that place so thought id try out the new look and menu last Sunday. Suitably impressed I must say. The swordfish!!!!! Yummo!!!! Now I've spotted their cocktail menu for $8 on a thursday with $12 chicken wings hmmm I know where I'll be..beside the open fire at Bobbie Peels! #winnerwinnerchickendinner
Held a family get together last week and it was a tremendous success. Great pub food, lots of atmosphere and slick service! Loved the fire and will visit again very soon.
Had been meaning to try this place as it's just down the road from my work and had noticed it had changed. Invited a couple of old mates who I hadn't caught up with for a while. Really nice inside, got a table near the bar and was really well looked after. Food exceeded expectations and was really tasty and a great price (It was wings night). My friends were impressed too. Highly recommended.
went on Saturday night, what a great food, it was so busy and everyone was enjoying there, highly recommend to everyone, go and try the ribs they are so awesome, one of the best places i have been and enjoyed. Place to be
I liked the venue - the pressed tin roof especially. Nice venue, spacious seating (although metal chairs on a cold night are - well - cold). Staff were very friendly and helpful. Meal was nice. Son in law eggs were ok. Would have been better if more runny. Steam buns with pulled pork - interesting to have steamed buns. Lamb belly was tasty but fatty - as you would expect. The salad that accompanied it was particularly nice (mint & lychee) and I could have eaten a lot more of that.
Bobbie Peels really delivers when it comes to their food, service and style. There's definitely a focus here on fresh produce and interesting dishes that really pack a punch of flavour. And if you have a mixed bag of friends who have different dietary requirements, the menu here really does cater for most. My favourite dishes would have to be the mac and cheese bites, the sticky glaze tofu and the son in law eggs. My non vegetarian friends tell me that the crispy chicken wings and beef ribs are amazing too. The service here was also impeccable and the staff are very friendly. The menu is also very affordable.The bar staff are also very good and are great with recommendations. They were also willing to whip me up something interesting when I wasn't quite sure what I wanted.I would highly recommend!

Fantastic service, amazing food, beautiful decor and atmosphere (I went on a Wednesday night and it was very quiet) and very, very good cider on tap. I can't wait to come back again.
I went to Bobby Peels last friday night for a catch up with friends. It was such a great night, super cosy atmosphere, friendly staff, great wine and the best pub food I've had in a while. The menu was a welcome change to what you see in a lot of Melbourne pubs. We shared so we could all try a bit of everything (jalepeno poppers, poutine, ribs, lamb, mac n cheese bites, salad) and it was all incredible! I'm still dreaming about the mac n cheese bites and have told so many people about them - they are a winner!! I will definitely pop in next time I'm in Melbourne! Thanks Bobby Peels for an awesome night!

Delicious Po boys in an easy setting. The Crimean was an austere and unpleasant place and this local had let it be for a while. I was happy to see that it had changed hands and changed style, although keeping its lovely decor.
The new service is friendly and helpful with soulful music adding to a great atmosphere. A small but well chosen wine list. The food is delicious, shared style, mostly US cuisine with excellent Po-boys, jalapeño poppers and Mac-and-cheese balls. surprisingly there is also (as could only happen in Melbourne) a Vietnamese edge... an intriguing combination that will bring me back for more.
It's early days for these folk and I hope it's works out for them as I'm very happy to have them for a local joint.

Recently renovated and relicensed, Bobby Peels (formerly the Crimean) looks wonderful. Brilliant hospitality, (although we had them on a quiet night), friendly staff and social bar area. Fabulous, if limited wine list; the Zuccaro's Six Acres Pinot Noir is wonderful.
Most of the menu is made up of shared platters, again not an extensive list but well thought out. Presentation looks lovely but doesn't take into account the "sharability" aspect of things: sizes are relatively small and not divisible. Pulled pork is a must, though it could do with more bread on the side. Meatballs taste wonderful, though a little tough. Prawns were a disappointment, but the salad presented with it (as well as the Pear, Walnut and Cos Lettuce salad) were divine.
All in all a brilliant setting, with "Local Nights" on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Still in early days, there is plenty of room for improvement, but if it is a sign of things to come, this is a name to look out for.
Great food and Beers! Mac and Cheese Bites, Jalapeño Poppers and the Coopers Artisan Reserve are all required on a visit to Bobbies!
Staff were lovely, we sat out the front which was nice on a sunny day. Had a steak sandwich which was good, although a little expensive...did taste great though. Partner loved the vege burger, and it was a good deal on Saturday, only $14
Went to the soft opening last night and I think it is going to be a great little spot! Awesome beer and the staff are all friendly and welcoming!
Food was excellent and the beers were really good. The only thing that was pretty poor was the sangiovese we ordered (almost undrinkable)
The pub was bought by a family in the first half of 2020. They fought through the lockdown a and have come out the other side to turn this gorgeous old pub into a heartwarming gem of North Melbourne. Regular weekly comedy shows, trivia and incredible cheap drinks. They even catered for my 30th, these guys rule!
I haven't been to this place for ages, finally have ago again for the steak night on Tuesday. I was very happy with my meal. Been coming here every Tuesday 2 weeks in a row. Highly recommended!
Great specials on Thursday and Saturday. Recommend the parma and the burger. Both pretty good! Also happy hour everyday 🍻
