Delicious food served with a big smile! My favourite Thai restaurant in Melbourne :)
Delicious food, delightful people, great as take away or eating in. Been coming here for years and look forward to many more delicious meals.
The Tom Yum seafood? Gteed best in Melbourne 2 min of prawns, calamari and fish. The soup this glass noodles once again, full of veg and mined pork. Then as you tire and try the vegetables and tofu tom yum it becomes over whelming. I've found my new Thai who does the perfect sour/tamarind balance with fish sauce, it's heavenly
We booked the back room at Thai Classic for a large group - my family and my partners extended family.
Well I am so glad we picked it because I couldn't fault the night at all.
The service was outstanding; the staff were patient and helpful and able to suggest dishes we may enjoy. The food was brought promptly despite it being a busy Saturday night.
The food itself was delicious. We had red curry beef, green curry chicken, pad Thai prawn, mussaman beef curry, stir fried chilli basil pork, spicy stir fried seafood...and more. I loved all of it and so did the other 12 people. It was packed with flavour, perfectly portioned, fresh and hot. We had one table member who is married to a Thai man and has lived in Thailand for many years. She said it was some of the best Thai food that she had had in a while.
Between 12 people it cost only a bit over $300. We all had entrees, mains, jasmine tea, corkage on four bottles of wine, and desserts and nobody was hungry. Amazing value.
Thank you Thai Classic for the incredible evening and keep up the great work!
Unaffected and good quality, this Thai is a regular at our house. Staff are friendly and the service is quick. Chicken and pineapple fried rice is delicious
Best Thai in Melbourne, the 3 thai flavoured fish is amazing. Also pad thai is without fault. They have been there for so many years and the quality is consistent every time.
Incredibly good tucker Batting way above its %88 rating.
I never thought I would right an urban spoon review but the food was so good and the staff so nice I feel I owe it to the world.
Authentic and irresistible. I have been coming here for years now. I live far from North melbourne but will travel especially to eat here.
their whole fish in red curry sauce, it's deep fried so you can munch on the crunchy bones. It's my most favourite thing to eat. Red duck curry is phenomenal. Thank you Thai classic!
Simply the Best. I have to say it's probably the best Thai restaurant in Melbourne. Their dishes are authentic, fresh and real. Their service is perfect and the atmosphere is the perfect getaway to relax and have a break.
Best Thai in Melbourne. The chef is that cute little woman, that is simply a rockstar.
The Duck red curry is a must try.
Second to none.
On a recommendation.... Dinner for 4, two ordering the vegetarian banquet, 2 ordered the smaller portioned banquet. The soup and stir fries were great on all parts, with the entrees being a winner as well - this is pretty authentic, having found it difficult to find good Thai. The kicker was actually getting a full blast of the lemongrass and tasting chilli through a couple of the dishes, finally a place that isnt scare to use key ingredients. Friendly staff, but need a bit more work to when service is required.
Good recommendation and happy to recommend to others.
Terrific service, lovely atmosphere and fantastic food!! Portions are large so you can share them. Try the Tom Kha soup, best i've tasted outside of Thailand! Corkage was only $2.50.
Have been here a few times and food and service is great. have had the fried fish, pad thai, steamed fish and coconut rice - all are great and reasonably priced. there is a back seating area which is great during the week as it is not so busy. will return.
Very lovely chicken pad Thai. I will be back!
Authentic thai, excellent service. Have been coming with family intermittently over past 10 years. The food has remained excellent.
Highly recommended.
I think it is better value to order off the menu and share dishes rather than pay extra for banquet - this is the general rule with Asian restaurants.
We went late on a Friday evening after phoning several other Thai places who were closed. They were very happy to serve us, food was delicious, very speedy, nice atmosphere, the staff were very polite and friendly. Overall 5 stars. Will be returning.
The best food. Over the last 15 years I've been to this restaurant too many times to count. It's a bit out of my usual stomping ground but the food is just great. Some of their fish dishes (Fish in Three Thai Flavours, Red Curry Steamed Fish/Seafood) are just fantastic. It's a bit pricier than some of the other restaurants in the area but probably has one of the best cooks in Melbourne. I highly recommend it.
Had takeaway from there tonight. Fantastic! Each dish was presented beautifully (for takeout). Fish cakes with a mini salad and sauce packaged separately. Satay Chicken with diced cucumber and onion in a seperate container. Chicken fried rice was fresh and delicious. Our new local.
Have enjoyed the two times I've eaten here. Really love the coconut rice - it's extra yummy. Nice place for an intimate sit-down tho there appears to be room for gatherings or even small functions. Staff are warm & friendly and willing to tweak dishes to your needs. Hope this places gets enough business to keep serving me late-night dinners for years to come.
On a scale of one to 10, I would say Thai Classic is pretty damn good! Authentic, just the way it should be. Well done Thai Classic!
It is amazing. Extremely good quality. Love the chicken pad thai.
We just happened to drive past on our way home and decided to give this place a shot. From the moment we entered the staff greeted us so politely. The food came out in a timely manner. All three of us chose different meals and this is the best Thai restaurant I’ve tried in many years. The food is very authentic Thai style! Would come back and definitely recommend to everyone!
Have ordered take out many times from here over the years and am always happy. The curries are consistently rich with flavour and made with good meat. The Tom yum soup is a favourite, sometimes we just order two of these with some prawn crackers and call it a night! There's not a lot of good Thai food in this suburb so it's good to be so close to Thai Classic!
Love love this place!! Always can count on them for the most authentic Thai comfort food made with so much love and the freshest local produce, the owners are great folks too and always make you feel welcome! Highly recommend :) x
Good, and worthy to recall the flavor of Thai food. But some are too salty and some are lacked of some spice.
Only order mains, other dishes are a waste of money. While all food was absolutely delicious I expected more than 2 small curry puffs for $6.90 and more than 1 tiny pancake of roti bread with satay sauce for $7. We had take away but if were eating in I would have questioned the tiny serving sizes.
Amazing home made food! Very friendly warm service with a big hearty smile! Ordered the red curry chicken, vegetable stir fry and vegetable spring roles and they were beautiful!
I been there few times and its always been a good experince.
The staff is lovely and helpful, the place is nice and clean and the food is very fresh and yummy and good size of the portions.
Not the cheapest tai but worth to pay a little more because everything is great!
Best coconut rice i have ever had!
Cant wait to go back again :)
