Oh Piccolo! You never let me down! After traveling into the city for work, my routine stop off at this wonderful little coffee bar brightens my day. Without a doubt the best coffee I've had in Australia, and I keep coming back because of this, it's the perfect start to my day! The friendly staff offer exceptional customer service, entertaining banter and charming smiles to boot, always going above and beyond to satisfy their customers. The food is also very good, the bean salad and piccolo club sandwiches are my personal favorites, and their banana smoothies are a divine special treat.
Well, I have been here countless times now, and I recon they serve the best coffee in South Wharf! :)
The Blueberry muffin was good too! The donuts looked good and fresh, will have to have them the next time!
The coffee here is nice. Staff are always very friendly (particularly the regulars who I think own the place). The ham and cheese toasties are OK too with a nice, even and buttery toast to them. They also sell (though not made here) some nice granola type bars and the super delicious Butterbing peanut butter cookie sandwich. It was a regular morning stop whilst I visited my old company's head office here.
Every time I visit South Wharf I grab a coffee at Piccolo as there's always friendly efficient service & the coffees consistently good.
They also have a nice range of cabinet food so really good for a bite to eat on the go.

For a rather large $5.90 I was let satisfied with this slice, but a bit ripped off. In fairness it was quite nice; though not freshly baked, the pastry wasn't like cardboard and held together nicely when picked up. The fondant icing was slightly on the thick side but I value the efforts made. The custard was the highlight, a vanilla whipped cream filling, a nice consistency overall.
The best place to get coffee at south wharf. The staff are amazing staff and provide customer service. Nutella croissants are to die for, and everything is made fresh everyday there unlike the other cafe stores within the dfo complex.
We went for shopping at dfo southwarf and we had some coffee and food at piccolo it was absolutely the best food and great coffee never disappointed 😍
Coffee and lunch. I've been here several times. Each time is reliable and great. It's in DFO South Wharf. The food is inventive and different, an excellent menu with a little of the things most people can relate to. The food is exciting without needing a glossary of molecular gastronomy to understand it. Having said that, the presentation and quality is certainly on par with Melbourne's finest. I always look forward to stop by piccolo when I'm around the district. The Menu and coffee are impecable and the staff are always friendly!
Friendly and efficient. Had a good coffee there and was served with a smile. That counts.
Service was great, coffee was strong and desserts delicious. Loved it
Good coffee, not food court crap. I wound up going here for a cuppa one Sunday because the human flood-tide of the Run for Kids was blocking my way across Spencer Street. Good on 'em for running, but the mass was like a half-hour traffic jam, so I had to make other plans. Good thing Piccolo's spot in the basement of the South Wharf mall sprawl is only a 5-minute pushbike ride from where I live. The flat white I had here was surprisingly good. Robust, full flavour, not milky or bitter. Piccolo uses diBella beans, which I consider the best commercial coffee brand in Melbourne.
I'm a sucker for anything that says "Tim Tams" so I plunked for the Tim Tam tart. It didn't taste much like a T-T, but it was good. It had oversized teardrops on top, some made of cheesecake, some of chocolate ganache. That was over a base of dark graham cracker crust and some caramel slurry, topped with chocolate. Which sounds Tim-Tammy, but it tasted different. Nice, though! And about as calorific as half a packet of Timmers. Or is it Tammers?
Coffee is beautiful, great food, service is great, very friendly and always smiling. Will continue to go back to piccolo. Will definitely recommend them. The barista with the diamond earring definitely makes the best coffee.
Must taste all the deliciousness this little Gem in the heart of dfo has to offer!! Brings me back all the time if it's not for a great mocha and macaroons during my break or a yummy wrap or focaccia the cuties behind the counter will defiantly bring you back!!

Nice coffee and good friendly service
Doppio espresso. I've been going to this little gem in the DFO centre every time I go shopping or around the city because they make good coffee. Simple. Quality service not to forget!
Piccolo Espresso is located at DFO South Warf, down stairs in the food court. We ordered a coffee, a chocolate milkshake, two bagels and some of the Cookie Dough Co cookies. They have a big selection of these tasty cookies. It was a hot day so I opted for the chilled choc milkshake, which was very good. The chicken and avo bagel was tasty. Good place for a quick bite to eat at DFO South Warf.
A day out shopping and the perf brekky we had,
Not just any bagel but the one we had for breakfast one morning when we didn’t have anything planned for the day. It was at @piccolodfo House where I found the perfect bagel.
There’s nothing like a piping-hot cup of Saturday morning coffee followed by a memorable bagel with delicious gooey cookies from cookie dough.
This little bagel cafe based in dfo south wharf is famous for their made-from-scratch bites. If you’re looking to get crazy, you can experiment with options like Eggs and Sujuk Bagel which features a pile of grilled sujik atop spinach n cheese and an over-easy egg on the bagel of your choice. Or a classic smoked salmon, They also make a veg option bagel sandwich with all the good veggie toppings of your choice, you just need to ask :)
The coffee is a 10 on 10!
Happy shopping at dfo with a good bagel treat!

@piccolodfo, @dfo_southwharf Happy FriYaY!! 🤩💫 I popped by Piccolo in South wharf during one of many shopping sprees at DFO South Wharf and it was the perfect spoto grab a quick bite while “exercising” my way through the shops for some much needed retail therapy 😍😂💫👏🏻🥇
We ordered the yummy smoked salmon bagel and the chicken pesto. 👍🏻😁 The team kindly toasted them for us which was brilliant. Instafamous @co.cookiedough cookies are also sold here - we grabbed a Biscoff and Lemon one 🤩 They are soooo sweet 🙃. Washed it all down with a Coco Mango and Green Machine Smoothie - attempt to balance out the calories before hitting the shops again 💰💸🛍😄!!
They are located in the main food court near the luxury stores- you won’t miss them! 😇✌🏻
Visit Piccolo Espresso last weekend and tried:
Chicken and Avo Bagel
Italian Salami Bagel
Tutti Fruiti (Real fruit Smoothies)
Hot chocolate
Nutella Rocher
Oreo Mars
Everything was good, the bagels were toasted and nicely hot. I enjoyed drinking the hot chocolate with Chicken Avo bagel, it was so good 🤤
Plus the loaded NY style cookies from Cookie Dough are available here. In love with their packaging.
I enjoyed eating the Nutella rocher and Oreo mars so sweet and addictive 😋😋
If you’re shopping in DFO South Wharf, Piccolo will be the perfect spot to get some delicious food 😍
Piccolo is located in the corner of the foodcourt, close to the fancy stores such as Coach, Furla and Michael Kors 👀
We ordered some drinks & food below:
☕️ Iced Mocha - good coffee & loved the cream on top! These were such a delight on that hot day we were there.
🥯 Lemon Pepper Chicken - this bagel had a nice balance of the citrus flavor with the kick from the pepper and the savoriness of the chicken.
🥯 Egg & Sujuk - my fave combo! I have eggs & sujuk for breakkie at home sometime and to have these inside a bagel was just excellent!
Also, we didn’t forget to grab some co.cookiedough cookies! We got smores and peanut butter flavors, they were such delicious treats! 😋 Piccolo will definitely be our go-to place when we’re in DFO South Wharf 😍
The food here is absolutely amazing - perf for a quick lunch stop while shopping . I tried the bagels, croissant and a few other things and they were all so tasty. The staff here are super lovely as well 🥰 they also stock some of thecookiedough's famous loaded cookies.
Really delicious bagels and drinks if you’re looking for a quick pick-me-up whilst shopping in DFO!
