Cosy bar with a nice aesthetic. I very much appreciate the visible pricing on the spirits. Outside smokers area is very nice, place gets busy so get in early to obtain a seat (lots of seating out there in the outside area so should be fine). Great for dates and after work beverages. My only qualm would be a lack of selection on tap beers, but that's just a personal thing. Either way, it's a good recipe for a great time!

Nice ambience with plenty of comfy booths inside and outdoor seating out front as well as out back. Cocktails a little too sweet so most people drink beer.

I’d been waiting for this place to open after lockdown. This place is like a hidden gem on the North Melbourne side, with heaps of young people and rustic bar the cafe next to Prudence that place also niceeeee👌✨

Not far from uni. Very cozy with a great selection of cocktails and craft beers. Dim light good for first date. Polite, professional, and attentive staff, always double confirmed that I got served. Will visit again!

Great community pub to go for a few drinks. Eclectic crowd and cosy atmosphere. Booths upstairs are a bit awkward for groups and the stairs to get there are a bit steep, but this is part of the character.

Great bar with well priced drinks but the amount of passive smoke is disgusting. It smells like people are smoking inside - reading other reviews it looks like people regularly smoke upstairs indoors which is illegal and disgusting. We could hardly sit for long due to the smell and sore eyes. I am a local and will never be back and will advise others the same. What a wasted opportunity.

Extremly good vibe, good playlist, ambient and light, the selection of wine and bear is pretty good. The food which you can order next door is always simple and well executed. Definetly going back!

This place plays vinyl records, the decor is super cosy and drink selection is fantastic! Came here for a date when we didn't want to be bothered by noise and crowds - the booth seating is perfect for pairs or small groups. We visited too late for food, but the cheese platter sounds amazing!

Used to be great when you could order food in from next door. Have had 2 bad experiences here where they have decided it's fine to let people smoke inside because 'they're a private function' or when it was Prudence's birthday party (shamelessly put out ashtrays on every table upstairs at the start of the night). Nope it's still a public, licensed venue that needs to adhere to the law.

Great little bar ! staff are lovely and very friendly funky tunes and an amazing beer garden. the cocktails were very yummy The only major let down was the drunk man at the bar.That claimed the be the "owner" he was speaking nonsense and yelling at his staff over the bar while they were trying to serve, definitely ruined my time there. Perhaps he did own it otherwise i could definitely see him being kicked out straight away!

Pretty small rustic bar, the upstairs table area can fit a few groups, as can the smoking area out the back. This is where i lounged over a few jugs while my friends smoked away their existence. I heard that ordering food from the African & Thai places next door is now replaced by an in-house service. That'll be quite the game changer.

This bar is a true gem and North Melbourne institution. There's always a good feel regardless of the time or how busy it is. Being able to order food from a few neighbours is good fun.

One Piece Left

Nice bar that we stumbled upon and decided to stop by for a drink. It had a nice rustic feel to it and a lovely outdoor beer garden at the back. We sat in one of their snug booths near the front. We ordered some drinks, a glass of sauvignon blanc for me and a pot of mountain goat ale for my friend, along with a lovely cheese platter. The cheese platter was pretty decent sized with a selection of three cheeses: blue, brie and goat cheese. It also came with pickled onion, pickles, strawberries and quince paste. The pickled onions were really nice and gave it another dimension when you ate it together with the cheese. We got quite full from the platter as they were very generous with the crackers and cheese. Amy Winehouse was playing in the background which was a bonus for me, the music wasn't too loud too so you could still chat without having to yell. Overall a nice bar to stop by to have a drink!

You cant not love prudence - it's quirky, a bit rustic and has a hipster vibe minus the pretentiousness. You kinda feel like you're at home when you're there - but a really cool home in North Melbourne.

Not impressed at having booked an area to be given a small room that would fit half the number quoted. Even more infuriating is asking to have this sorted three times before anything was done about it. Also told we can have food from the restaurants around the joint when booked but actually told this had been discontinued six months ago on the night. Customer service was a joke

Smoking indoors!!. I did love this place once, such a cool cosy place to have drinks with pals. I'm sure illegally, they have allowed people to smoke upstairs, a closed ceiling with fans on and windows open. Because that's outside!!! Stop the smoking and I'll come back.

I live on the same block as Prudence and used to love going here for beer and getting pizza delivered to our booth. However they've recently changed their once-awesome food policy - banning food in the downstairs area - you can now only have food in the (lame, not nearly as fun and atmospheric) upstairs area. What up, Prudence? You just killed the coolest aspect you had going. Gonna be heading to Town Hall Hotel or Crab Shack now for beers and food with ambience.

I honesty don't know what more anyone could ask from a bar - eclectic decor and great ambience, a range of spaces catering for date night drinks through to larger groups, awesome staff, well priced drinks and they also let you order in food from nearby restaurants. One of the best bars in Melbourne, no doubt.
