Review Phat Stacks Burgers - Melbourne

Avril Leow
Cheesy onion rings were the star of the meal, chips came next with really tasty tomato sauce! The burgers were a little under our personal expectations. Neither one of us had much to shout about but not very much to fault either. I found the Blue Baller a tad bit too sweet with the caramelized onions and vinaigrette, which overpowered the Blue cheese flavours. Food wasn't our let down, it was price for the food. We found it a bit on the high side being $100 for a burger meal for 3. Despite the awesome outcome of the cheesy onion rings, they weren't quite worth $14.90. Should we be hungry in the area in future, we may come back! And definitely will if prices were dropped a little. But hey, I must say we really appreciate the good service, don't change that! šŸ˜‰ Keep your spirits going, guys!

My 1st time, staffs were friendly, delivered their good recommendation for your choice. My lamb skewers meal was good.perfect cooked lamb.tasty bread.greek style.kids meals good too, specially home made popcorn chicken.just the chips to me a bit salty. The burgers were tasty.grilled beef fragrance, good for meat lovers.

Tried the banker.. Its good but not the best. Patties were done medium to well. No gritty crunchy side tid bits. base was thick but sufficient to absorb the sauce. Overall flavours were balanced with the pickles but would prefer a bit more sauce.. to the end it became quite dry to eat. Size wise was spot on though. Oh tried an onion ring from the Big D.. this was rock hard. Am being critical as there are plenty of shops out there that has set the benchmark quite high for burgeries!

Burgers were tasty, fries were good and we really liked the shakes - super impressed! Just found the service a little less than perfect, still a recommendation if youā€™re in the area though!

Not a bad burger place but not amazing and quite expensive really. Had the Big Banker burger - good if you like big American-style burgers with lots of meat and cheese. Still a little disappointing though, feel like it needed a bit more flavour and the bun isn't the best. Atmosphere is good but don't sit on the bar seat next to the window - it's awkward when people are reading the menu outside!

13th Birthday. 10 of us had great burgers, chips and calamari. Sweets rocked....see pic. Service spot on too. Younger kids well looked after. Going back for sure.....so many menu items to try.

Very good style and design, Taste of beef burger is not good, not cocked very well, in total it worth for Bog D.

Burgers for any person: vegetarian, vegan or not. So happy to try these delicious burgers šŸ”
Burgers Of Melbourne
Had both the beef and chicken at this venue as well as a crazy shake and dessert. The fried chicken would be my go to for a burger and those shakes are amazing! The gold bun is a bit of a gimmick, if you have some spare coin it will get you a great picture and will be a great story to tell šŸ™‚

Quite a tasty burger restaurant in the Camberwell Area.

We ordered the Rookie Burger, Crispy Chicken Burger and the Large Chips.

The rookie burger was quite nice however felt slightly dry at times. The chips were so crunchy and so thick !

We also had one of the massive freakshakes- whilst it was pretty big and looked cool in photos Iā€™m not sure itā€™s worth $16.

Wow the staff here are beyond lovely! So attentive and happy, it was a pleasure to dine here!
The burgers were delicious and the drinks were spot on!

āļø4.5 stars āļø

After work burgers was a great idea on a rainy Friday night! The restaurant has super cool decor with friendly and attentive staff.

What we ordered:
Early investor on a beetroot bun w/ onion rings and beetroot
Big D
Sweet potato fries

Lucky we decided to share the sweet potato fries because those burgers were damn filling! The Big D was definitely big. A beef & chicken patty along with two slices of bacon was a meat lovers haven. The Early Investor was delicious and adding the extras made it bigger and better! Overall, the burgers are great, they arenā€™t overly packed so therefore the burger doesnā€™t fall apart when eating it and thatā€™s how we like it!

Iā€™m not really a burger person but now I can appreciate a good burger lol great food great atmosphere šŸ‘šŸ» would recommend if youā€™re in the area

Everything here is AMAZING!!! We loved the cheesy onion rings and the 24k dessert. You definitely wonā€™t leave hungry. 10000% recommend for a good burger, this wonā€™t disappoint!

Phat Stacks is pretty cool inside, love the dĆ©cor and vibe. Service is always good too.Ā

As for the burgers - the vegan burger is actually so yummy. I would love to try the gold burger but not for that price!!Ā

Would go back for the vegan burger! Also more inclined to go back if there were more vegan options!

3.5/5
My burger looked and sounded amazing but it felt a bit dry, it was still pretty tasty (the fried chicken patty was absolutely amazing, fresh/juicy/tasty and the highlight of the meal) but the meat patty didnā€™t excite me that much. Overall the burger was tasty but didnā€™t blow me away like I hoped. Chips were spot on (tasted like Snitz chips which are amazing) service was super nice so would probably give this place another crack.

Lovely service and great food! I got the Hotspot (without bacon) which was delish. The sweet potato fries were soo good and so much for only $10.
The shake was insane - ā€˜Marry Meā€™. Never had a shake that flavour!

The service at this place was incredible. The staff were so bubbly and helpful, and let us take home our leftover chips.

We shared the Loaded Fries, Hotshot Burger and Chocolate Thickshake. Everything was superb, I honestly couldnā€™t fault it. However, the standout for me was the Loaded Fries. The meal was HUGE and the chips themselves were amazingly crisp - Iā€™d come back tomorrow just for a bowl of them.

Top notch food and top notch service at Phat Stacks.

Phat, pink and juicy meat pat. Gold, coloured or normal buns. Big size, well assembled. Fully satisfying, Fully yummy.

The chips are absolutely top-notch. I would visit just to have a basket of those. Golden, crunchy outside and soft inside, and so yummy overall.

The staff are delightful!, Genuinely umber-friendly, and they treat each and every customer as a visiting king/queen.

Pity that my belly is not bigger, because some of the stacked burgers and humongous shakes are just one of those things that you cannot let pass.

Great cafe with friendly service and delicious burgers! We enjoyed the pulled pork burger and the soft shell crab burger. The braised beef burger was good, but could use more veggies. We loved the loaded chips which came with cheese, jalapeƱos, aioli, and guacamole! It was flavourful and not too rich. We also got the mid town funk shake which had Oreo, cookies and cream ice cream, and cotton candy. It was delightful!

First of all the service was amazing. Great friendly waitresses who were very bubbly, nice and helpful. The burgers were unfortunately abit normal there wasn't anything spectacularly awesome just regular burgers; you have the option of ordering whats on the menu or creating your own.
The loaded fries were yummy, the fries were the right size and the flavours with the sauces, chilli, jalapenos and bacon bits really complimented each other.
I would definitely recommend the shakes! Ordered the less phat one with mint, watermelon, and pomegranate--super refreshing and it does not sit heavy in the stomach so it goes great with the burgers and fries
Also ordered the Mid Town Funk shake---every single detail of the milkshake down to te pop corn on the side was yummy--definite recommendation but it is more of a dessert. Its quite heavy with the ice cream and the toppings so maybe consider sharing.
Price wise its slightly above your normal rate for burgers and decent loaded fries but definitely recommended!

P/S they also have a gold experience where you can have your burger bun in an edible 24k gold version and they also have a 24k gold shake for those who love living that extra life ;)
Phat Stacks is a burger and shakes place that everyone including Bachelor stars have been promoting on social media. I was curious if the venue lived up to its hype. Many cafes (and even a past burger place!) have moved into where Phat Stacks are in the past and failed but I think finally Camberwell has found something that could stand in the area long term.

I of course was there to try the shakes. I was impressed with the size and the amount of toppings. It all tasted good and we were pleased that no cream had been included.

I can highly recommend these shakes! Definitely worth $16 because of the size.

I've cone back tonight to make sure what I write is corrrect. This is an incredible burger joint, clean, friendly, full chef kitchen stack not just a grill.
The Burger's are incredible, I had the Junior which is a standard US style burger, but with the freshest patty, juicy and crisp lettuce, I've had he early investor which is a southern fried chicken burger which I so wanted again tonight and the Vegan, just to try and it's incredible.... Smokey black bean beetroot patty, big mushroom, lettuce and tomato, onion and vegan pesto mayo.
The loaded fries are incredible, with cheese sauce, bacon, spring onion and jalapeno, chilli and aoli.... Seriously insane. My photos show them without bacon, and that's not an issue for them.
Desert, I don't have it normally it but the Churros lloked crazy and others ordered it, bam I had to try it.
Good job guys, function room too.
Food Fiend Melbourne
Went here for my birthday dinner and it was delicious. Was super keen to try the gold leaf burger bun, but it was only available as part of the challenge burger and was $95, so I didn't get it. The onion rings were to DIE for. Crispy, flavoursome and served with a delicious sauce. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their burgers, but felt super full afterwards.

I had the Early Investor, my step mum had the Blue Baller, my Dad had the Piggy Bank and my mate had the Big Banker.Ā

The shop fit out is large and ready for big groups if necessary. The owner was also super friendly during our visit.

Called in here with a friend for a burger. What a treat. We were convinced to try the Roasted Duck Arincini on special and they were the best Iā€™ve ever had. The green olive mayo a knockout.
Burgers and service superb. Very knowledgeable. We did get to see someone served the gold bun and smoke show. I see why this is a social media favourite.
As I write weā€™re about to order Churros. Yum

Epic burg on the job definitely worth a bash, finished it with pace, have a chat with old mate behind the counter top bloke making the whole experience Mickey Mouse !

The place is good. The crew is super friendly. I have ordered Golden burger and and the Ferrero rocher shake. They were accompained with liquid nitrogen show which was astounding. The experience is very good. Will visit very soon.

We have previously enjoyed Phat Burgers, but had a not so great experience tonight. Firstly, service was very slow, and then we got our chips about 15 mins before our burger. I specially asked for the meat patty to be well cooked with no pink. However, a pink undercooked patty was what I got. When we mentioned this at the time of payment, we were advised that the chef was aware but they donā€™t want the meat to get too dry. Yes, I am weird but normally burger places are happy to adjust to customer requests.
Antonio25
Wow, what a burger bar!!! Saw the advertisement for this place whilst being overseas and it lived up to all expectations! Stavros was really friendly and helpful also. I will be back again in a heart beat!!!
Jula Sihapanya
Staff are very warm and friendly
I didnā€™t try the gold burger, Iā€™d just ordered the normal burgers. I ordered Senor Partner and Big Banker burger, they were awesome. Highly recommend for sweet potato chips, I would back again ASAP
George David Michaelides
The cash cow is a seriously difficult burger to eat. In terms of size itā€™s huge as it should be for $20 itā€™s rather juicy but just a bit to overwhelming for me to come back for more
John Regos
Burgers are really good. The fried chicken burger was great. Worth getting the onion rings. I had the calamari entree and it was very tender. The shakes are very impressive. Worth a visit again. 4/5.

This is one of the best burger places in Melbourne, have eaten in many places in the US and this place stacks up with the best. Love the atmosphere and welcome that Stavaros and his family create, just a fantastic place, great food and great conversation.
Eatandbooze
I'm personally not a massive fan of burgers but this is my favourite by far. My partner and I have ordered from here several times and have loved it every time. Not only are the burgers, fries and milkshakes awesome, but the customer service is amazing. We once ordered $100 worth of food from here on Ubereats, to which the driver never showed up. We then had to re-order and Phat Stacks rang us to make sure we hadn't make an error and tried to help with our stolen food. They were very lovely. Will definitely be back when the cravings strike!
Seth Boone
The staff is easily contacted via their social media page and responds in a timely manner. This is brilliant because my wife and I travel often, yet have certain restrictions regarding accessibility. The staff fully accommodated for our needs, and their establishment was fully accessible. The food was a Dream, 5/5 would definitely recommend.
Food Glorious Food
Our favourite burger joint! Try the ā€œblue ballerā€ oozing blue cheese without being overpowering. Love the brioche type buns and have fun with the different colours eg charcoal or matcha. Well sourced meat for the patties taste delish. Paired with a thick chocolate milkshake you canā€™t go wrong. Love the crispy sweet potato fries. Cool, funky interior.

Ive never written a review on Zomato but i had to for this place! My boyfriend and I finally went for dinner here last night even though we have lived around the corner since November and it was awesome! I had the rookie and he had the double rookie and they were both on point! Patty was cooked medium which is perfect for me and it was so cheesy and tasty! The bun held it all together well and didnt fall apart like the buns at Humburger. Chips were also tasty!
The staff were super friendly and they had awesome tunes playing. Just had a really good vibe! The guy who served us who im assuming is the owner even shouted my boyfriend a vodka shot! Well done guys, keep up the good work!

Dry bun which makes the whole burger dry , solid flavourless brick of a patty , loaded fries soggy and flavourless , calamari soft / soggy flavourless .. below average waste of money ..
menu read well and aioli was nice.. thatā€™s it

Capping off my fortnight of burger places, I decided on this place in Camberwell.

I came here on a Sunday yet there was still massive congestion and the parking wasn't even free on a Sunday. I specifically chose Sunday to come here and then a nearby gym afterward but did not expect even the Junction to be gridlocked like this on a Sunday. Must be hell on other days. Since I didn't want to pay $3 just to park for 20mins for my meal I had the blue baller and sweet potato fries to go.

The burger was decent although I am not a fan of the whole mushroom I must say. Wanted a beef burger without too much cheese or bacon so this was really the main choice, was worth a try of course. There was way too much salt on the sweet potato fries which would have been fine even without the salt imo. Yes I could have asked without salt but where is the mystery in that heh.

Even so my biggest gripe would just be the location. Unless you are getting dropped off or taking the train/tram, is it really worth it to drive here - I dunno.
Sally
Pretty good food. Ordered sweet potato chips and the Piggy Bank which was a pulled pork burger. It was juicy and well flavoured. The coleslaw went well with the pulled pork and the onion rings added a bit of crunch to the burger. The sweet potato chips were seasoned well and is definitely worth a try. Service was excellent as well.

Tried Phat Stacks last night and was pleasantly surprised. The owners/staff are really friendly and helpful. We had the hotshot and the seƱor partner and they were both delicious. The chicken in the hotshot was deliciously crispy. The sweet potato fries were probably the best Iā€™ve ever had...crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Weā€™ll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.
Alex
Went here on a quiet winters night and was presently surprised. Ordered a rookie and an early investor with some chips and onion rings. The rookie was simply superb! Juicy medium rare pattie with heaps of sauce and pickles. The early investor however, was not as exciting. The chicken was burnt on one side so much so it cut the inside of my mouth (maybe Iā€™m too delicate), and it lacked flavour, after being so blown away by the rookie. The onion rings and chips were standard. The service was also nice. However, the burnt chicken kinda ruined it.

Burgers are quite a big thing in Melbourne and there are so many burger places Iā€™ve tried. Itā€™s fair that I have more expectations when I try burgers here, especially the ones that are on trend. Phat Stacks, you have raised the bar when the bar is already high. I enjoyed every bit of my Piggy Bank. Itā€™s a new dish, replacing Pirate, I suppose. I upgraded the buns to Matcha and kale buns, which tasted amazing. The burger consists of slow cooked pulled pork, cheese, red cabbage, lettuce, onion rings and aioli sauce. Will definitely return to try the gold burger.
Dine And Dash
Absolutely speechless.

Phat Stacks Burgers, located on Burke Road in the heart of Camberwell, is a family-owned up and coming burger joint specialising in fresh, locally sourced produce, using preservative and chemical-free meat and is also home to the very first 24-carat GOLD bun and Ferrero Rocher Shake!
Tonight, we ordered the Cash Cow Burger, SeƱor Partner Burger, the Cheesy Onion Rings, the Sweet Potato Chips and the Waffles for dessert.
The onion rings with jalapenos, chilli and aioli were almost a meal in itself - very filling and very tasty. The sweet potato fries were also great. They were served with a really flavoursome aioli. The Cash Cow was simply delicious. The braised beef rib inside the burger was succulent, perfectly cooked and plentiful. The crispy onion rings and spicy Jack Daniel BBQ Sauce really gave that burger that extra kick of delight and texture. The SeƱor Partner burger was exquisite. It consisted of perfectly grilled chicken, tomato, lettuce, cheese, chilli jam, spanish onion, guacamole with a tasty spicy pineapple-jalapeƱo sauce. The burgers come with a choice of buns including Gluten-free, Vegan, Beetroot, Matcha green tea and kale and Charcoal ash.
Even if you're not a burger person you have to come to Phat Stacks if only to try the Waffles. Wow! They were incredible. They came with artisan chocolate ice-cream, strawberries and Persian fairy floss. The ice-cream was amazing, probably the hero of the dish - creamy, silky and heaps of flavour. The strawberries were ripe and fresh and helped cut into the sweetness of the gorgeous Persian fairy floss. See the photos for the beautiful presentation. Also on the dessert menu were churros and an Ice cream burger of course!
I was absolutely blown away by tonight's food. I left feeling so satisfied and so happy with my experience. I will definitely be a regular here as there are many other burgers and dishes to try such as the soft shelled crab burger, the vegetarian smokey black bean burger, salads and grills. The customer service was fantastic and faultless. I recommend you definitely hit this place up for a meal that you'll love and maybe if you're game, even try their 24K burger which is also accompanied by a liquid nitrogen smoke show!!
Vegan and Gluten-free options are available upon request.
~~Check out _dineanddash_ on Instagram for more pictures
Aindog's Burgers
So last #friedchickenfriday I got the opportunity to indulge myself in something way too good for my blood, in pure opulence only meant for the richest of rich, all thanks to the legend @melbourniancritic. This burger you see before you is what I believe to be the literal antithesis of what a burger should be. Burgers were originally created by the poor for the poor. This however is what happens when someone takes that idea all the way to the complete opposite of the spectrum, targeted at the rich people who want to eat like the poor but not look like it.
.
This is the modified "Golden Phat Stacks" the literal Donald Trump of all burgers. This boujee ass burger is packing 3x Southern fried chicken, 2x bacon, 1x beef patty, 3x cheese, onion rings, jalapenos, lettuce and chipotle sauce, truth be told, definitely one of the biggest burgers I've attempted!
***
šŸ” REAL GOOD TIME, ANY DAY OF THE WEEK! šŸ”
Not gonna lie, I was originally going to rate this burger lower, but after a week to really ponder on this review I've come to this conclusion, when you pay so much for anything, you assume the quality of the item will increase with money spent and because I had that idea in mind, this burger just didn't meet that expectation, didn't even come close. Which is fair enough, unless this burger had fresh caviar and shaved truffles there's no way in hell the quality could meet that pricetag.
But don't get me wrong, the burger itself was great, without the golden bun it would be priced at a competitive range and would be something I'd be more than happy to eat any day of the week. Just not with the unnecessary golden bun.
šŸ’ø= The 24k burger itself is $88.80 but if you pair it with the 24k shake, it comes to the grand total of $99.99...No way in hell is it worth that much.
***
At the end of the day the best way I could describe this burger would be, pure theatre. This burger wasn't created with tastebuds in mind, it was created to grab your attention so you wonder in awe at the beauty and extravagance before you. Its not meant to eat, but to take a picture of and show your friends and family or even strangers so they can be jellous they aren't you. So question is, are you?

Phat stacks burgers totally satisfied our phatty burger cravings. We invited to try the Big D, tacos and the mini sliders. The Bid D was definitely the star of the show, it has beef patty, bacon, cheese, fried chicken, onion rings and some other goodies. You can't go wrong with that combination!

We also got to try the 24K shake, which was really good as well. The liquid nitrogen was super instagramable.
Astrogirl
Dropped in here for weekend lunch. Ordered a Rookie Burger, chips and a beer. Burger was nice and big with a beautiful, slightly pink pattie, tasty mustard (and a good amount of it) and cheese, onion, ketchup, pickles. I really liked it - simple but good quality. Chips were amazing - nice and crispy and well seasoned. Service was fast and the fitout was nice. Would def go back.
Melbourne To Mouth
THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!

Ok, while Iā€™m a tad sorry for shouting, itā€™s true. The venue itself is street style, huge graffiti art with high ceilings giving it a much bigger feeling and style than most run-of-the-mill burger joints.

Kicking off with some loaded onion rings (changed my life) with cheese sauce, jalapeƱos, aioli and chili sauce - basically a meal in itself and everyoneā€™s fave sweet potato fries. I could have walked out at this point and still given the place 5 stars, but NO. We stayed due to the starters giving us a taste and obvs weā€™re at a burger place, who leaves without burging?

Enter: The Big D. Premium beef patty, southern fried chicken, double bacon, jalapeƱos, double cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles and onion rings AND chipotle mayo... ON... a charcoal black bun... HEAVEN. Best thing about this burger? It tastes even better than it looks! Thereā€™s plenty of premium flavour goin on in dis biz, and if the Big D is too big to fit into your mouth, well, knock it over and go your hardest as best you can!

Still got space? Phat Stacks also stack waffles with chocolate ice cream and strawberries to hit that sweet spot that will probably be left by the meaty goodness youā€™ve lost indulged in. Youā€™ve gotta wash it all down, obviously... treat ya self to one of their giant freakshakes - I recommend the Mars - take a look and youā€™ll get it immediately. Iā€™m a big fan of boost and mars bars and itā€™s got them and plenty including Persian fairy floss to top it off. GIGGITY.

Make plans. Now.
Alex From Desserts.pleasure
As always, we sampled desserts here at Phat Stacks. We had 3 dishes in total, these being the Ice Cream Burger ($12.50), Waffles ($14) and the 24k Gold Ferrero Rocher Milkshake ($24).

You can see all these dishes in our photos attached. To start was the burger, a regular bun with nutella as a 'sauce' almost, filled with ice-cream, strawberries, wafer things (Ya know... those yum round things) and a little bit of fairy floss. Personally I love chocolate, out of all desserts... so this one was delicious. The ice-cream does a great job at reducing how 'dry' a regular bun would be as a dessert so don't be put off by the bun. This one got a 9.5/10 for sure.

Then, the waffles. Again with icecream, wafers, strawberries and fairy floss. Some chocolate sauce too, and it tasted just as good. If you're a big fan of anything sweet definitely go with either this dish or the previous one. Personally I believe the 2 dishes waffles vs burgers are very similar (same toppings) and would've liked to see some more variation between dishes (Or even the option to have the waffles with a different option!). Regardless, both were great.

Finally, the big one. The 24k Gold Ferrero Rocher Milkshake. Comes with a smoke show too which was cool (Video on my Instagram). By this point I was pretty full, still got most of it down though! I'm a huge fan of Ferrero Rocher and having it in a milkshake was amazing. Very sweet, topped with icecream, chocolate sauce, wafers, even coloured popcorn on the edge! And also an edible gold wrapped kit-kat (Not rocher as the menu says), so you can look extra fancy on social media ;) ;)

Overall, it was a great visit and loved all the desserts we tried. Maybe we will be back for regular food!!

Cool fitout to match the ott golden burger. The shakes was it down all nicely as well. Good for groups. Loaded fries are awesome and the pulled meats are amazing!!

Really yummy burgers, especially considering the price, and friendly service. Phat Stacks is definitely one of my top burger places, even though I donā€™t frequently visit the area.
@foodtom
Phat stacks was really good, I don't think there is anywhere else in Melbourne that you can have a 24 karat gold burger. The experience was one of a kind and I'm so glad that I can finally say I've had a gold burger. Flavour wasn't extraordinary, but it was still a pretty good burg.

Unbelievable.Ā I work local.Ā Re-tried this after an initial poor quality burger experience when they opened.Ā Entered shop.Ā No one in sight.Ā No customers.Ā Staff member appeared eventually.
Standing at counter I requested meal from menu.Ā Stopped to select drink.
Phone rings.Ā Staff member answers the phone and proceeds to take a lengthy order.
Many minutes pass.Ā No eye contact.Ā No apollogie.Ā I left
Good Food Good Mood
I canā€™t even begin to tell you how delighted I was to dine as a guest here. First came the charcoal bun, then it was the matcha bun followed by the beetroot bun. Phat Stacks has just raised the stakes with a 24k gold bun. Yes you read that right they have juxtaposed the everyday burger with the luxury of a gold coating. And in a world where we are all searching for the next best thing or the next instagram food craze this has taken it to the absolute next level.
The venue itself has splashes of gold everywhere from the chairs to the cutlery holders all the way to the bell on the counter. The first hospitality venture for brothers Ali and Emad theyā€™ve also come up with the pretty ingenious idea to name all of their shakes after Bruno Mars, including the infamous 24k magic which was topped with a gold Kat Kat and accompanied by a liquid nitrogen smoke show, aka more theatrics than a concert by the namesake himself. A jaw dropping, shop stopping spectacular.
The decor is modern with a fun colourful mural extending for the entire wall and brightening up the space.
I opted for the early investor burger but pimped it up with some guacamole and pineapple and then turned it gold. The chicken was very flavoursome and the burger in its entirety was utterly delicious. The burger phase isnā€™t slowing down and while new burger places are popping up everywhere, for something truly unique and special youā€™ll need the golden touch

Legendary. Best Birthday. Great service. Amaing cocktails. Gold burger is unreal! Screw Flanders screw Flanders screw Flanders screw Flanders
Mark Palmer
Not a bad burger. But one of my pet hates is when the bun all falls apart That exactly what happened. Flavours were ok nothing fancy. Wasnā€™t the best burger Iā€™ve had but definitely wasnā€™t the worst.
A Chronicle Of Gastronomy
Coating burgers with 24K gold leaf seems like a bit of a crazy idea, but Phat Stacks has done it, introducing the first 24K gold burgers and shakes in Australia.

Came here on a weekday with expectations that did not fail us, the veg beetroot burger w grilled portobello and chicken burger were up to standard. Nice and crispy chips with the holu chipotle sauce. Service was pretty good and love the graffiti wall!
Penguineats
The number of new burger joints popping up around Melbourne is almost overwhelming, but reassuringly, Phat Stacks offers up a rather unique and brilliant experience thanks to their gold-themed menu.
Donā€™t be fooled by others saying that the burger craze is over, cause it so clearly isnā€™t ā€“ and Phat Stacks has just shown how much creativity can be had with the humble burger.
Kathrynd
Burgers were absolutely delicious and staff were incredibly friendly. I had the best onion rings here as well. Would definitely recommend and go back.

I was very lucky to have been invited to Phat Stacks to try their new menu. Thank you lol

My partner came w me so we tried a grilled chicken burger. It was delicious, fresh tasty chicken, moist and a great flavour. The salad was fresh the bun was good.

We also ordered a Gorgonzola cheese burger. This was tasty, the beef was moist and it had a big mushroom. Yumm the only thing it was missing for me was a bigger cheese hit as it was mild.

The winner overall was some onion rings, this was hands down THE BEST onion rings weā€™ve ever eaten. Crispy hot tasty batter, not greasy, and sooo tasty!! Absolutely amazing.

I had a craft beer, a Hawthorn pilsener which is one of my favā€™s. This new menu rocks, and soon they will have salmon burger and more goodies... mmn hahaha I wanna go back. And we will! Lol

And I want a a packet of colouring pencils so I can win a prize next time in the colouring competition.

Loved the atmosphere here, the mural on the wall is a nice touch and all staff were friendly/helpful. I had the basic chicken burger and my friend had the vegetarian option, both of which were impressive - good work with the buns.Ā
Onions rings to start were yum with a side of aioli, it was all pretty filling so I couldn't fit in a milkshake afterwards unfortunately because they looked amazing. Will have to save that for next time.

The owner recommended a nice cocktail bar for afterwards - thank you very much for that! I'll be back.

Being local, and a total sucker for a good burger, I've been waiting for Phat Stacks to open for the longest time. Sadly, this was underwhelming.Ā

My wife and I ordered the Rookie Burger (basically a cheeseburger), Merchant Banker (beef, cheese, bacon, pickle and bacon jam) and chips. Both burgers lacked any real flavour or identity. We couldn't distinguish sauces and the meat was as close to unseasoned as we've ever had. We took ingredients out of the buns to identify the problem and, while many items were so-so (I could not pick the bacon jam, for example), the meat patties did not taste like anything, other than oil. We were told about a 24k burger (approx $88!) which, by all accounts, is a big burger with gold flakes. If it tasted anything like my burger, I would not have been impressed with the outlay.

Thankfully, the chips, service and ambience (love the mural) were good. The fit-out looks pretty cool, so I hope these guys get back in the kitchen and start working on their burgers, as it needs to be at the core of what they do, in an already-crowded Melbourne burger scene.

Very cool atmosphere. Right near the station so it's easy to get to. Very reasonably priced. Food was fantastic. Had the Early Investor and a milkshake. Would go back very soon!

Excited to finally try this place out, has a cool environment and tasty looking food. The staff were all very friendly and accomodating.

I had The Rookie burger, which was essentially a slightly fancier McDonald's cheeseburger - it was definitely tasty, however for the price, I was hoping for something a bit extra. Nothing wrong with the burger, but wasn't super exciting either.

The vegetarian option (the Entrepreneur) was really interesting looking, lots of colour and textures and well enjoyed.

The Hot Shot had a generous crumbed chicken piece with lots of jalapeƱos - beware for those who don't tolerate spice well, because it turned out to have a bit of a kick!

We all really enjoyed the chips, they were really crispy and a generous serving - one serve was more than enough for 4 people. We tried the herb mayonnaise sauce, which had a strong flavour of pesto.

Overall it was a nice experience, we are hoping to come back some other time to try those shakes (which look like a meal in themselves)!

The first downfall was bringing out the onion rings 10 minutes before the burger. The onion rings, however, were quite good but got cold super quick. Also, for $7, the portion size was on the small side. The spicy chicken burger itself wasn't too bad. Definitely reconsider serving chips/onion rings before the burger. Anyway, great staff, good music and well designed place! Solid 6.5/10.

Come across this place when I am in camberwell after visiting a customer. Looks like this is a new place so decided to give it a go. Ordered the homewrecker as I like mushroom. Burger tastes pretty good but needs some improvement for sure. The patty should be made more juicy. And something needs to be done to the sauce to make it tastes more "memorable".

I did not order any chips though so cannot comment on this.

In general this place is nice and clean, staffs are friendly, a good place for a quick lunch.

Great that there's another gourmet burger spot on Burke Rd. Really nice space and very friendly hosts and staff. Table service is good as is the water brought to your table.

Unfortunately the gourmet burger arena is packed with great players like Betty's, Royal Stacks & Hucktaburger, and these burgers don't stack up, pun intended.

Patty is bland and a little dry, and mustard and tomato sauce don't really cut it- needs a special sauce. Buns are very nice, however.

Fries are nice though I prefer French fries- doesn't everyone?

Looks like a great venture that deserves to succeed, they just need more flavour in the burgers.
