Delicious and affordable food from Gyoza Gyoza
Their parfait was amazing!! I got the traditional one and I love the multiple layers it has that just comes together! It's my second time trying sake and my first time wasn't a good experience but the Shochu Flight was amazing!! I personally liked the one made out of rice in the middle. You could really tell the difference of flavours and smell for each one. I also appreciate the staff that served me as I tried my non-existent basic Japanese language to her and she understood even though I was stammering. I appreciate it as well that this Japanese restaurant/izakaya has some Japanese staff which makes it more legit.
The tastiest Japanese tapas I've ever had! We come back each time trying something new. My favourites so far would have to be the Tori No Karaage, Cheesy Fries and the Mixed Berry Sangria!
Can't wait to come back again and try something new!
This is our first time here, The food was amazing, and I love this!! We ordered noodle cheesy chicken and gyoza they are so good. Their customer service was nice as well. They had clearly explained in patience and politely. In all the total experience was great.
I had a wonderful experience at Emporium and this meal topped it off. Loved it and recommend!
1st time visiting Gyoza Gyoza and like the dishes. We ordered tori karrage, calamari burgers, soft shell crab burgers, pork garlic gyoza, chargrilled rice, fried rice and the kaisen harumaki. The best is the kaisen harumaki. The dishes are about AUD $6.80. Nice ambience with the music played. Great variety of dishes, beverages and desserts.
Excellent customer service. Overall, the food was impressive but the salad was just ok. Wasabi here is very fresh. I love it!
very good taste for the Gyoza dumplings and beef tongues, the experience was good as well. Somehow the garlic is open to the air which I think attached with a cover is much better.
Came to try the Lobster Mornay after seeing it all over social media. Was fantastic, and the workers were really nice. Nice place for a quick lunch near work.
So good! Cannot get enough of the dumplings at Gyoza Gyoza. Could easily get a 10 pack per day and at under $10, it's a bargain!!
Gyoza are a type of dumplings with a thin dough that are also called pot stickers and while they come originally from China (where they are called jiaozi), they are a very popular dish in Japan!
And while I’m planning my next trip to Asia... whenever my next holidays are 👀... I can definitely bring as much as I can of Japan to me now, right? Especially when you find the ultimate Japanese Izakaya style bar in Melbourne!
Izakayas are very popular in Japan and I’ve visited quite a few in Tokyo so when I found about this place, of course I had to visit! 🤭 If you don’t know, an izakaya is considered by many a type of informal Japanese bar/pub, where people usual hang out after work for a constant feed of shared dishes and drinks!
And Gyoza Gyoza couldn’t represent this better 👏 it’s a very welcoming and pocket-friendly place with such a vibrating tradicional Japanese atmosphere! 🇯🇵 it gives you a true experience of how it’s like to be in Japan - this is actually considered one of Japan’s quintessential experiences!
They actually have 5 stores in Melbourne and 3 of those are quite close to one another, but clearly it is such a popular and unique place as you’ll see that they have hundreds of people visiting every day and it’s more than welcomed to actually have all those different places!
The one I decided to visit was the one located at Chinatown but coincidentally I was walking by Emporium Melbourne and passed by one of their other stores just before getting to the ones I was visiting 😂 the store at Emporium is beautiful and very inviting and I would certainly love as much as the one I visited.
It’s very easy to find the venue at Chinatown and they even have an area ours with a table and a few seats if you prefer to be out. But I would certainly recommend getting inside because that will give you a more realistic Japan experience!
The entrance is short and very characteristic to the actual venues in Japan, and you find seats and tables along the left side with an impressive bar and bottle display on your right! The whole counter is very interesting and I absolutely loved and was astonished by the decoration! 🤭 the area opens slightly to the bar where you have what I would say are the best seats in terms of Japanese experience 👌 the lights, the music (omg the music!) and the items and decoration is just superb when it comes to setting up the right mood.
They are actually co-owners of the space next door and share the two areas to fit costumers as best as they can, making them very at easy and comfortable with their visit and because I actually wanted some outside light for some pictures, I opted to choose a table right near the window in that second area.
They provided me and my friend with the whole food and drinks menu and since I don’t drink, I focused solely on the food 😂 The menu is impressive and so diverse that some of the dishes I had never tried before, even living in Japan! 😱 I can only say I’m one step closer to become Asian now after this experience👌🤭😂 Even being a specialised gyoza place, we wanted to try many of the other ingredients and distinctive items do this is what we had:
- Okonomiyaki - the one and only Japanese style pancake that I absolutely loved! The size is smaller than the ‘real’ one but this is supposed to be a small plate and I have to say it quite large considering that! I think it’s just perfect in terms of size 👌 then the consistency is slightly softer than the ones I had in Japan but I absolutely loved it! It is less dense and still as filling and dense and the I think it’s just right 👏 it comes with pink ginger and spring onions and then topped with mayo, katsu sauce and bonito flakes that were definitely too many for that smaller size pancake but still appreciated 😂 actually I though actually add more sauce and mayo and less flakes but overall this was incredible and definitely recommend!
- Lotus Chips - I am a huge lotus lover and these were deep fried lotus chips that came with great portion and slightly salted to make you crave for more and more 😍 seriously, they were amazing! 🥳 I would definitely say that I prefer this type of chips versus ‘normal’ chips! Also recommend trying!
- Yaki Hotate - two large baked Japanese scallops, very nicely presented and looking quite luxurious even! I think some seafood definitely makes speaks for itself and this was certainly one of them! Great size of the scallop itself (although it looks more impressive always than what it really is because of the size of the shell 😂). It came with some creamy miso sauce too!
- Black Truffle Oil Tamago Yaki - I had tried tamago before and absolutely loved the subtle taste of egg so we decided to see what the truffle oil would to! I personally found it slightly odd 😂 still okay but definitely would choose to have it natural versus with the oil. My friend on the other hand enjoyed it. I think it’s definitely a matter of your own preference as the waitress also preferred the one without the oil but I would say to pick the truffle one if you feel like trying something different and surprising!
- Pumpkin Croquette - the second best meal of them all! These were deep fried Japanese mashed pumpkin cakes with katsu sauce and OMG OMG OMG 🤭😍 it is a must! Basically it has an amazing crumble outside and the cakes come cut in halves topped with the sauce and if that isn’t an outstanding enough flavour, it also comes with an impressive amount of mayo on the side! You MUST dip it - absolutely- because the 3 things combined are just AMAZING👏 would ask again and again for sure!
- Takoyaki - again another old favourite of mine and it represents a tradicional ball shaped Japanese snack filled with diced octopus! It’s interesting to see how different places do these and I must say that I was very happy with the quality of all the more fried food - I didn’t find it oily or greasy and I had to gastrointestinal issues! It came with tempura scraps, picked ginger and green onion and also topped with mayo and bonito flakes (again in huge quantity 😂) and I think the size and portion provided is outstanding too 👏 also recommend trying!
- Tuna Tataki on Nori Tempura - these were some new items of seared tuna with lime mayo a salad and yuzu soy dressing on a nori tempura and it was incredible! The part of the salad and mayo plays a huge role here and contra-balances the fried tempura and enhances the fresh tuna and we were impressed how good this was! Certainly one of the best ones too!
- Kinoko Hoiru-Yaki - quite an interesting one, this one, with some foiled baked mixed mushrooms! It actually comes with all the foil closed and once you open it you find a mix of mushrooms with a ponzu butter sauce. The mushrooms are very nicely cooked and I undeniably enjoyed them because I am a huge mushroom fan but I personally found the sauce not so found of the sauce. It has a semi citric taste and I would definitely have enjoyed it more without it, but I’m sure there are people that will like it.
- Red Bean Sweet Gyoza - the best, best one! Maybe because they specialise in Gyoza 😂 or maybe because it has red bean paste 😂 it’s an absolute must this one and you cannot visit without trying! Actually all their gyoza are made in house daily with local produce, including the gyoza skin and they have 3 types of gyoza and you can choose from steamed, fried or soup! The red bean ones are pan fried and truly mouthwatering! My friend and I really already getting full and still fighting over who would get the last one of this 😂 it is a good portion to share (5 pieces) and the size is good too. It comes with some little strawberry pieces that make it very delicate and peculiar and also a whip on the side if you feel that it’s not sweet enough yet (we personally didn’t try the whip because it was just perfect as it was!). A MUST! 👏
- Soy Milk Matcha Soft Serve - how could we not ask for something without matcha? The true icon of Japan! 😂 they have actually many varieties of this soft serve and you can have it in a glass like we did, with some iced matcha soy milk on the bottom, or in a cone! They also have not only matcha but also a chocolate version and you can have a soft serve with one, the other, or a combination or both!
Overall this was a 10/10 experience! The service was impeccable (seriously I have no idea how made things so fast!) and we didn’t wait AT ALL for things to come. The food came steaming and looking with great presentation and they kept coming to not just out table but every other one, repeatedly, to make sure the costumers were happy.
The best thing about this is that you can (and should!) ask for different items to try as all dishes are from $6.80 and they have over 80 Japanese Izakaya style options that you can choose from!
They certainly bring the most authentic flavours from Japan and I had the most wonderful dining experience! Definitely recommend visiting!
Lunch menu is great. Many options to choose from. Delicious and good selection
In love with the honey flowertea here- calm and good on a rainy day. Was just here for a snack but turn out I ordered more than that due to how tasty the food were. We ordered everything chicken, pork, seafood. Sweet chilli fried chicken was tasty with mayonnaise on the side. Grill ox tongue was flavorful. Minced garlic and pork gyoza was crunchy from the outside and juicy from the inside. The highlight was fried oysters with fish roe on top, rich and fresh. The staffs were nice and friendly, food came out quickly, spacious dining area. Location is great, easy to find right in Emporium shopping mall. Overall everything was satisfied. I will definitely come back and suggest to friends!
The tempura tigar prawns were an absolute delight! Crab Claws = Yummy! and the cheesy Chicken Kaarage is definitely a must order dish! Loved!
Gyoza Gyoza is a Japanese dumpling bar in the heart of Emporium Shopping Centre in the CBD.
It serves a range of dumplings, sashimi, salads and fried snacks, all priced at $6.80.
Reminds me of Daiso, the Japanese store which sells everything for $2.80!
Service was very fast and the servers were very polite. Food came out hot and fresh, tasted very flavourful. Are the special pork and garlic gyoza thanks to the recommendation. Will definitely be coming back.
Been wanting to go to this place for a while now and ended up going for lunch. Staff were so friendly, times were decent and food tasted delicious! Honestly wish there was more for portion size as it was so good !! There is I so much more I want to try. Will definitely be going back again 😍
Took our friends here for the first time and they loved it all! Mustard miso and sweet chilli karaage was a fav and corn cheese and eggplant miso were winners! They had a gyoza special which was great that we ordered two plates! Def a must to bring a group of friends with varied tastes! :)
It’s a really nice restaurant for both lunch and dinner, the small dish are really good and worth a try. And also the drink is really good. I will try all of them in the future.
Very great environment with nice service. Food is fresh! Just try it!!! Come here is just like come to restaurants in Japan~~ try the dumplings here as well. It is easy to find, good location!
This restaurant is in a great spot at the Emporium with good seating, and perfect if you want to have a meal with friends, or just stop by for a quick lunch. I ordered the Gyoza special, 10 pieces of traditional panfried pork and garlic dumplings. The filling was wrapped in a nice thin dough, they were so tasty, and perfectly panfried. Will come back again.
We like Gyoza and it was our fifth time here. Vege chips are sooo tasty that we ordered it every time. However, we find that in lunch time the service is a little bit slow, which might be too short for working lunch. But, good food deserve waiting!
Plan to Calia, but long que. come to this place with surprise.
Seafood pancake really good.
Food basically all tapas, filled chicken all good
Will come again and try the other food
Great place to chill, love the lunch set and gyoza.
Lovely food and friendly service. The eggplant is a bit salty but overall dishes all delicious and worth to recommend to friends.
Went here with my girls, loved the atmosphere. Upbest music, great vibes Service was absolutely on point. Food was delectable, if you love japanese style tapers, this is the place for you.
Cosy and nice design place. You will have various choices of popular Japanese food serving as the small portion. Reccomended to go with a small group or couple, so you can share your dish and try almost dish here. #gyozagyoza
The customer service was really good -the staff are really nice and the service was fast , the portions are reasonable for the price. The gommae chicken salad was very refreshing and was plated beautifully. The variety at the restaurant is very large and seating was very comfortable.
Passed by this place many times while in Emporium, decided to try this restaurant with my wife today. Staff is very friendly and thoroughly explained their specials as this was our first time. The menu offers quite a variety of dishes, ranging from entree size gyoza to mains to specialty desserts such as macha latte with coffee shot. Ordered pork and garlic gyoza which is one of their specialty, and also the okonomiyaki and cheesy karage. The gyoza was nicely panfried and the filling was seasoned well and very juicy. The okonomiyaki and cheesy karage were nice too. There were only two waiting staff on a busy friday, but they were attentive enough to their customers. The food took a while to come but that was okay since we were not in a rush. Overall a good experience, will come again!
Food here is amazing. There are some quirky modifications to what is a standard izakaya menu, which keeps it interesting. Oysters took a long time to come out (about 15 minutes after all the rest of the food and drinks were finished)... probably as the order was forgotten. But overall enjoyable meal.
First time here after looking at the good reviews and I can say that the food is as good as what the reviews say. You can choose from a plethora of dishes (mostly $6.80) with some dishes costing around $8 as well.
I definitely recommend having the okonomiyaki and also the grilled pork belly. Both left a really good impression and I'll definitely come back to have them again. They also have a wide range of gyozas to try out ( had the eggplant and duck and it was very special).
The staff are very polite and food was delicious. Service was quick and I very much recommend the dumplings and the chicken wings. The prices are very low and recommend it to anyone who enjoys Asian cuisine. The place looks very nice with nice music and nice lighting.
This is an amazing restaurant that not many people know. We ordered a lobster roll, and one plate of gyoza and a grilled mushroom, which is already enough for two persons. But we have a soufflé pancake for freeee! Never be full. Everything is so delicious! The price is also quite reasonable. This is my first time to this place will definitely come again.
Gyoza gyoza emporium melbourne is the best restaurant we have been during our trip in melbourne. Not only the great location, the fresh hokkigai, the must try grill karubi and gyu tan, but the most impressive thing is the staff of gyoza gyoza. She is the warmest staff we saw in melbourne. As we have ordered the salmon tataki salad with no sauce, it came with no dressing but some mayo, we all know it not the fault of the staff, but She is really kind that gave us another one, with no sauce and no mayo. We must come back again in the future. This restaurant and the staff deserve five star rating!
Love this place! Very nice service and environment, a perfect spot for shopping break. I have ordered the cabbage, garlic gyoza and beef gyoza, the garlic one is my favourite!
Staff were very patient regarding latecomers, we were served very efficiently. The wafu steak was cooked perfectly to my liking and takoyaki was very nice. Definitely will come with mates again.
Friends cauliflower karage came very late, though; it was still very enjoyable.
Kids friendly environment . Good to have Japanese dishes like tapa tapa and cheap to eat. Foods are delicious and good varieties from their menu . Good renovation as well and you can shop after eat here in emporium centra
Delicious and delicate food, good for when you want to eat a little bit of a lot of things. Okonomiyaki was particularly tasty, and oysters were served ice cold - perfect!

Overall score: 21/25 or ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
in 5 words: Value for money Japanese tapas
*
Taste ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - This is a japanese tapas place - which is great because you can try a wide range of food and all the different sauces and textures. I highly recommend:
✅ 🍗chicken karaage with sweet chilli sauce - well fried, the peanut toppings give it that extra crunch
✅ fried kaki (oysters). - well-fried, with fresh oysters. Best fried oysters I’ve had so far in Melbourne!
✅ baked scallops in miso sauce - fresh scallops and amazing miso combo
✅ 🍮agedashi tofu - delicious dashi soy sauce
✅ 🥟gyoza - as the restaurant name suggests, gyoza was fried perfectly (crispy on outside, well-marinated meat inside)
✅ 🍹uji peach tea - not too sweet, very refreshing and yummy sorbet
✅ 🍦matcha soft serve - authentic matcha taste, not too sweet and delicious cone!
my only comments was that I wished they added more truffle to the yakitori skewers and we also preferred more dressing on the salmon tataki salad :)
*
Ambience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - the cafe was beautifully decorated, with great lighting (in the unabara cafe area).
*
Price ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️- the food was affordable and really value for money. On average, most dishes cost $6.8 unless you order oysters / scallops (they cost $8). A soft serve is $5.
*
Presentation ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - the chefs took extra care to make sure everything was visually appealing. I especially love the way the seafood dishes were presented!
*
Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️- there was quite a Friday crowd so it was initially hard to get their attention. But later on, they really took the effort to check on us. Thank you for taking good care of us! What a great Friday night dinner.
I know there are so many choices for good food while you are in the city, but this is the one you don’t want to miss. It’s operated by Japanese people, food are very fresh, which is the most important thing for Japanese food. Waiters are all super super nice. Price wise is decent. Highly recommended.
Gyoza Gyoza is located on Level 1 of the Emporium shopping centre in the Melbourne CBD. There are a few restaurants in the Gyoza Gyoza family around Melbourne, all with a slightly different menu or featured cuisine. I’ve been invited to review a few of them within the CBD, and this one has been my favourite so far.
Rating: 3.5
Located on Level 1 Emporium next to Unabara Lobster & Oyster Bar, Gyoza Gyoza is a great place to stop for lunch!
Ordered:
🐄 Beef tataki salad: thinly sliced seared beef topped with grated radish, spring onion & sesame sauce ($8.00)
🍜 Zaru soba (v): chilled buckwheat noodle with dipping sauce ($6.80)
🍟 Lotus chips (v): deep fried lotus chips ($6.80)
🥣 Agedashi tofu (v): deep fried tofu with dashi soy sauce ($6.80)
🥦 Cauliflower karaage (v): Japanese style bite size deep fried cauliflower ($6.80)
🍿 Popcorn chicken: Deep fried panko chicken breast mince & sweet corn served with corn mayo ($6.80)
🍘 Takoyaki: filled with diced octopus, tempura scraps, pickled ginger, and green onion, topped with mayo ($6.80)
Review:
Top 3 dishes would be: cauliflower karaage, beef tataki salad and lotus chips.
My friend who usually avoids vegetarian dishes actually suggested the cauliflower karaage. That should be a testament to how good this dish is!
Bottom 3 dishes (Zaru Soba, Agedashi Tofu & Takoyaki) were plain enough that I would swap them out for others if I go again.
Overall, I like that you get to order a lot of little dishes instead of once big dish.
You get to try so much! If you wanted, you could also order from Unabara Lobster & Oyster Bar - I presume that's because they have the same owner.
Together, this was an incredibly affordable meal (roughly $25pp) that left me feeling incredibly full and satisfied. Service was a bit touch and go, but they were incredibly diligent in delivering our dishes in a timely manner and taking away our empty plates.
The food was good and the prices were reasonable. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also really comfortable and friendly. There is a variety of foods available on the menu and all of them are presented nicely, and overall it was a great meal.
They also had very good song choices too.
Gyoza Gyoza is the perfect place to head when you’re missing Japan. With mouth watering dishes that leave you wanting more, it’s a must visit for those looking for the best gyoza’s around. The staff are attentive, prompt and polite, and the atmosphere is so inviting. Always happy to visit Gyoza Gyoza. Try the Spicy Pork Belly, it’ll melt in your mouth!
Beautiful food, tasty drinks, fantastic service.
Dumpling were the best I’ve ever had, making your own customised sauce was a new and delicious experience.
Amazing Japanese place in CBD. Waitress is quite friendly and patient. A wide range for choosing what to eat. Food comes quite fast. Okonomiyaki tastes awesome.
3.75
Japanese style tapas.
The place is pretty nice and not crampy, a lil bit dim so it has a chill ambience. The staffs were mostly friendly, though they get busy when there are lots of people so it's hard to get their attention. Nonetheless, food came after a reasonable wait.
Salmon salad was decent, portion was okay as it's tapas, can do with more dressing and salmon though. Beef gyoza was pretty good, with nice amount of fillings and nice skin thickness, pan fried nicely with good flavour, sauce went along well.
Rice was bit disappointing though as it was not chewy but soft.
Scallop was pretty good, texture, taste and size wise. The sauce was pretty yum. Yakitori was decent, meat was tender and flavoured nicely. Eggplant was yum, was a marriage of sweet and salty, nice and tender. But it was bit too flavourful so it's hard to eat it alone. Gobu chips was yum as well, nicely fried and not too oily, with good amount of salt. We just love gobu chips, if you have never tried gobu chips then dig in guys!
Sis had the vegetable gyoza which was pretty good, the fried cauliflower which was not a crowd pleaser, bit bland and soft, lastly the rice were i guess just decent, bit crispy on the edges and flavourful on top, it was interesting though.
Matcha latte was pretty good too, and cute! Served in a small tea cup along with a cookie. Not too sweet nor bitter. We loved the parfaits. The matcha and sakura soft serve which was so light and not too sweet, along with crispy puffs, whipped cream and chocolate mousse, and the crumbs, yum! Houjicha float was refreshing too! And again we love the soft serve!
Overall, it’s a nice place for some Japanese tapas but can be bit pricy.
( follow for more!✨)
xx,joelle.
It’s so yummy! I have been here a few times and all the food I tried is delicious! It is the best restaurant in a shopping mall I have ever been to. Not only the food is tasty, the restaurant looks very nice and the service is great. on top of that they have a set menu deal that is excellent value for money.
Gyoza Gyoza made for a great spot for dinner after a full day of shopping and errands in the city. I appreciate how large and varied the menu is, plus the array of vegan and vegetarian options they serve.
I can't go here without getting the nasu dengaku, a favourite dish of mine. The super green chive gyoza are a nice alternative to your standard veg filling. While I was tempted by the agedashi tofu, I opted for the chilli glazed variety with a deeper fry. It's a firm and slightly more dry tofu than the agedashi, but the chilli glaze adds great moisture and flavour. I also always love the pumpkin or veg croquettes when dining at Gyoza Gyoza, but my favourite dish of all was the truffle infused egg roll, which had such a strong truffle essence that balanced the sweetness of the egg really well. Finally, a wafu salad with a Yuzu dressing tied the whole meal together nicely.
While there are more "hearty" items on the menu (like an Udon noodles or fried rice), getting lots of little plates to share is the way to go. The more variety the better, I'd say. You can get away with spending about $20 a person and ending up with a really satisfying meal.
Always had a nice food here. When I feel like wanna eat many thing in Japanese style I always come here to eat by myself and can ordered many plate what I want 😍👏👏👏
Absolutely fantastic food and service. Incredibly tasty Japanese Tapas at around $8 a plate. Great sake, Japanese beers and great wine. Love the place!
Nice atmosphere and yummy food! Recommend Gyoza and fried chickens wings!!! Matcha beer is quite special and tasty! Nice place for friends catch up.
The dishes that I liked the most was the prawn and chives gyoza which was delicious. The takoyaki was great too. Ebi karage was nice.
Staff was also prompt and helpful
The match beer was unique although I thought the matcha flavor could be a bit stronger.
It’s a cozy place located in the middle of emporium.
Gyoza Gyoza is an izakaya style restaurant located on level 1 Emporium.
The best thing about izakaya dining is the variety available and gyoza gyoza doesn't disappoint. We ordered dishes ranging from sashimi, yakitori and of course gyozas.
The chicken yakitori was cooked perfectly, the oysters were fresh and the gyozas tasted amazing.
Service was good when available however we never got any table water throughout the dining experience even though we asked.
Overall food was tasty with excellent variety. Would recommend 👍
Nice food and friendly staff. It’s the second time we became here. Recommended their signature gyoza. Good place to have brunch as well. You can start from entree, main dishes and finish up with their soft corn ice cream. Highly recommend mocha favor. They also offer limited edition ice cream as well. It’s a nice place to catch up with friends and family. The price is affordable. If you love chips, definitely need to try their fired chips. The location is easy to find. Just in the central of CBD. They offer different kinds of drinks. Japanese wine is also recommended if you love to drink. Worth a try if you never been here!
This is my go to place for a catch up with friends or just a dinner date . Never disappoint , there are 80 dishes to choose from and each one of them features with unique Japanese flavour . Our first dish being the kimchi gyoza is nice and spicy. The meat inside the gyoza is very tender. Next we had the ox tongue is sizzling on a hot plate and from the moment it reached the table it was mouth watering. Lastly the scallops are to die for, nice and tender but also creamy on the outside. There is always something for everyone, with my personal favourite being the scallops. In addition, there is a great range of drinks which makes it a great night out with friends. The staff are very good, always attentive and are there to serve you once you walk in. Despite it being busy at times, they tend to find you when you need them and give your their full attention. Overall I believe it is a great place for a quick feed but also for a nice date due to their variety of food.
Fantastic idea ! Really like this ice cream, taste very good ! Yakitori. Perfect grilled timing, meat is tender and juicy ! Will be good if 4 skewers are served in one plate! Spicy pork belly. Thought the pork was fried together with spicy sauce but actually the sauce was added at last. Great flavour. We also ordered pan fried chef special gyoza and mixed veggie and potato gyoza. The chilli oil is really spicy ! Fantastic place to go with friends.
Friendly staff and Amazing service ! Will definitely come back again !
first time at Gyoza gyoza and it is definitely a great place for gyoza or dumpling lovers.
Staff are friendly and you get the food really quick.
We tried 6 different fillings and recommeded the wague one.
Most dishes are $6.8 and lotus chips is a must-try. crunchy and perfect to pair with beer.
Pacific oysters are smaller than I expected but they are fresh and flavoursome, will recommend having them with yuzu dressing or ponzu sauce.
Lunch at Gyoza Gyoza in Emporium. Food is delicious, especially the pork dumplings, gyu tan, fried chicken with sweet chilli saurce and tamago yaki. The environment is nice. Overall, this place is worth 4 star.
The udon texture is very nice and chewy, however we were only served with udon and no other dishes. The other dishes took way too long to come out. There are inconsistent portion sizes.
Customer service was below average, didn’t get served for a while, even though she realised we were in need of service.
Overall food is great!!!
Delicious lunch! We had the duck gizzard, double pork and garlic gyozas, ebi karaage, soba, green tea parfait and washed it down with a choya cider punch. Highly recommend :)
oh my god - YUM!
was a bit unsure about the whole japanese ‘tapas’ idea for around $6.80 a dish but my god was this delicious!!
100% recommend the beef ribs for $8, they were absolutely melt in your mouth delicious despite only having two pieces. the okominiyaki and takoyaki were just classic jap snacks - probably can find better okominiyaki downstairs at tokyo pop for $6.50 honestly, but it’s such a staple to any jap place so we needed to try it! the gyoza wasn’t mind blowing, the fried oyster had too much sauce to really taste any of the seafood but the tofu saved the day by being so fresh and piping hot! silky and delicious, especially when drenched in that thick mushroom sauce!! +++ you can get a free dessert by posting on zomato or google reviews!! 🤫💓
Great selection of share plates. Our favourite was the Ebi Karage and the lotus chips. The ambiance and the staff are great. Quick service and
Fantastic food and great atmosphere. Given the name of the restaurant the gyozas are a must try with our choices chicken & lemongrass and wagyu beef and red onion being perfect. The chicken karage also outstanding with good choice of servings. A must try.
We were delighted to discover this gorgeous eatery tucked away in busy Emporium! Often it is a struggle to find good vegetarian options in Japanese cuisine in Melbourne but at Gyoza Gyoza we had the opposite situation; we were spoiled for choice! Everything is so delicious and we can’t wait to come back!
几乎每样都是6.8$ 小小碟好精致 好好吃~ 适合和朋友一起或者dating Hhhhh
highly recommend tofriends and family, really cute place forcatch up. we come here forseveral times andalways get our favorite dishes
Amazing restaurant with a wide range of food. It is amazing to find here and have dinner here. High recommended and will come again for this restaurant. Highly recommend the rose hot tea! Amazing
Always my favourite restaurant. Worth the money and time to be spend in store. I strongly recommend the ox tongue and the sparkling sake with Japanese jelly. The girls here are very friendly. A must go stop after a long day of shopping in Bourke street. Btw my friend’s favourites are the soy ice cream and agedashi tofu.
Excellent taste!love the high tea set, three layers, very fresh seafood sashimi, well taste lobster roll and well crafted dessert~ they feed the camera too✧٩(ˊωˋ*)و✧ location easy to find, opposite to Maje
Lots of great little dishes, great to try a table full of variety! Their mocktails are very refreshing and the kids love coming here!! Staff are friendly, overall a very positive experience! :)
This place is awesome, especially if you like a variety of food! The lamb ribs are to die for and definitely recommended. Location is super convenient and the atmosphere is very lively
I'm a regular here at the Emporium location and always come back once a month (on average). I usually have their NewYork lobster roll. Mmm yum.
Staff are friendly and all roundes nice vibes here.
Had salad , takoyaki and chicken toriyaki . Friendly service, Clean and it s quite good. The food is decent and lots of range. Recommended. :) . Very easy to spot and located conveniently. If you just want something simple and not heavy laden food, this is a place you can bring your friends for a light meal.
Fresh oysters! For a reasonable price and in a very touristy area so easy to access. Tried matcha green tea beer for the first time it was very refreshing!!
Lovely food and environment, truly enjoyed eating there. Oysters are lovely, food is fresh and prices for food are affordable. Will come again
My first time in goyza goyza. Very yummy food. Fast service. Great price wih lots of variety of food. Very generous portion. Surprised me. I get free parfait with this review.
Fried rice is always my favorite. Good to try the lobster risotto for the first time. Definitely good place when you need something small and light.
My score 4 stars. J & I had dinner here last night before seeing a concert. GG was fairly full, so they sat us in the Lobster Bar instead (I didn’t realise they were linked). We ordered 1L of Asahi Black (nice & creamy) & 3 waves of plates. Dishes were: Lotus chips – moreish, but maybe more suited to share in a larger group. Duck gyoza – moist inside & crispy outside, but were a bit gamey for us minimalist meat eaters (if it’s not seafood). Miso nasu – a smallish serve of eggplant (compared to Sekai Japanese Ramen - Footscray), but extremely nice. Fried kaki – excellent oysters (but could have had more sauce). Mixed mushrooms in Ponzu butter – YUM, esp the enokis. Yasai tempura – very thin slices of veg & delicate dipping sauce (overall just ok). Fried octopus tentacles – very tasty! Okonomiyaki – really good; delicate yet flavoursome (with a bit of Rosti-like texture). Agedashi tofu – tofu was ok (but the broth was delicious). Yaki hotate – YUMMO, esp the creamy miso sauce surrounding the scallop! Service was good, but it wasn’t hugely busy on our side (almost exclusively couples). Bill came to just under $90 (inc beer). Menu is large, so we will have to return to try some new dishes & have our favs again…
Food was nice. Service is polite, attentive and very friendly with us. Food was served promptly and nice and hot. The chowder we ordered could have been hotter but it still tasted good. The samon belly and ox tongue were grilled very nicely and produced a crispy charcoal taste.
We had small plates to share as afternoon snack which were beautifully presented. Great food and atmosphere! Excellent customer service and friendly staff. 😊
Food is really enjoyable and it has a really nice atmosphere! Portion sizes are enough that they are filling but isn’t overdone. I love how there is a variety of dishes available and everything is flavourful! By far the politesse friendly service and ambience of the restaurant is definitely something which I’ll come back for!! Thank you so much for the great dining experience !
Fresh food and good place meeting friends in city. Easy walk to Emporium from Bourke St. tram stop. Would love to try other dishes next time. Average quality food and reasonable price, worth on money~
Beautiful restaurant and helpful waiters.
Price range is suitable for us lunch goers
One of the good restaurants we love to go in Melbourne Emporium. Good food and services.
Beautiful food!
LOBSTER roll, ribs and deep fried cauliflower...a must !!!
Stone grilled items were very nice and the menu was super cute
The staff! The food! The decor! This is a really fun experience to have on your own or with friends, family or as a couple.
Came in during a shopping trip as really wanted a soft serve (love Gyoza Gyoza's soft serve flavours!) but realised I haven't actually visited and dined in at the Emporium Gyoza Gyoza. Was going to do a takeaway but stayed to dine in because the staff was so lovely and the ambience is just so wholesome. Ordered a cheesy potato okonimiyaki and takoyaki. Recommend you do too!
