Tried this place because of location and reviews. Staff were so warm and friendly, from arrival to helping us with the menu. Food was served quickly but beautifully presented. You have options for level of spice in your curry, which you don't get asked for often.
Ambience was great for groups or couples. Will definitely be back!

Dropped by here for dinner on a Saturday night and was pleasantly surprised by the authenticity and flavours of the food. All the dishes tasted great. But I particularly liked the pork bone soup which was appetisingly spicy, sour and delicious. The duck curry had a great sauce that went particularly well with rice. The clam in chilli jam was my favourite. It was smokey, spicy and fragrant with the stalks of peppercorn. And the pineapple fried rice was generous, tasty and moorish. Everything was cooked with care and the little touches (like the peppercorn stalks and the pineapple boat for the fried rice) made it special. There wasn’t much people here when we were around, and that may be due to the construction going on nearby. But this place deserves to be busy, as the flavours are truth, prices reasonable and the service was good. I will definitely be back for more.

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly, cheerful server. It was almost closing time so we had the place to ourselves. The pad kee mao and Nar bangkok fried rice got us stealing off each other's plates. Will be back to sample other dishes for sure!
A pretty decent place to dine at. We ordered pineapple fried rice, chicken satay, Tom yum and baby clam. Food are generally nice and spicy. Definitely recommend to any Thai lover and spicy lover. And huge discount for gold member too!
We had a large order for a work dinner. Tracey was easy to deal with and very flexible with our requirements. Food was lovely and plentiful. We'll be back!
Nar Bangkok is a new Thai restaurant on the busy St Kilda road – complete with an open-spaced and leafy interior, passionate and attentive staff, and a talented chef who is able to capture the authentic, complex flavours of South East Asian cuisine in each of the dishes. It’s definitely somewhere I’d love to come back to, and try their curries for a quick lunch!
My colleague keep saying to me that I have to try this Thai restaurant if I love Thai food.
We came on one of the busy lunch and it was crowded by office worker around the area.
We ordered Thai Curry Laksa (Khao Soi) noodle and the Kana sauce with crispy pork.
It was served pretty quick consider they were quite busy. The food very authentic taste especially the kana crispy pork. It was so yummy, just hit my spicy enough and the pork still crispy.
Services was friendly and efficient.

I’m so fussy nowadays about fresh ingredients and no MSG when I eat out , especially with a child. I’m the annoying customer who asks “ is your seafood Australian ?”, “ do you use MSG” etc . I find Nar Bangkoks food exceptionally fresh, and MSG free. The food reminds me of food I have had in Thailand . We’ve been back many times now which speaks to how much we enjoy the food, but also the service, it’s so friendly and they genuinely appreciate their customers and try to accomodate all their needs! The restaurant is very clean too!
I had baby calm tossed in chilli jam, fried squid and pad kee mao. All the dishes were really nice. Staffs were very friendly, nice food and very clean. Will definately back again!!
Great place serving authentic Thai food. The noodle soup is tasty and rich in herbal flavour. The meats are also very soft and tender. The big papaya salad is very refreshing and mildly spicy. Will be great if they have more selections of food.
For the LOVE of Grill Gel Yang Chicken , which Nar Bangkok seems to be master of, they definitely deserve a 4.
Duck Curry was strictly okay
Good options for Vegetarian and Vegans and the staf is very very polite and friendly.

Love everything about this place from overall vibes to their delicious food. As a Thai and having grown up eating Thai food, I can confidently say that their food is very authentic.
We started our meal with the son in law, consists of deep fried eggs with tamarind sauce and crispy noodle. It was really good, perfect way to start our meal. For main, we had stirfried kana (chinese broccoli) with crispy pork, fried barramundi with tamarind sauce, and out favourite dish baby clam with chilli jam. All the food went really well with warm rice and left us with great first impressions.
For dessert, we had the sago with coconut ice cream, which came with some corn and jackfruit bits. Very good dessert to end our meal.
Would definitely come back again.
I saw this place from across the road calling my name. Walking through the doors I was excited to be greeted at the door with a huge smile and a vibrant personality. I was firstly so impressed with the menu so colourful and well presented. So many great dishes on offer it was hard to even pin point a few. Soon as I saw The clams I knew it was something I must have and it was the 'dish of the day' for me. I would travel wide and far again for it. All the other dishes delivered with Thai spice 🌶 and was the closest I have ever had to something from Bangkok Thailand.
A new establishment on the busy St Kilda road. The lovely Tracey greeted us and seated us in the refreshing, petite venue. I must admit the flavours in the clams really took me back to Bangkok and set the precedent for the rest of the evening. The red duck curry, green chicken curry were both cooked with the expected flavours and blended well with the coconut rice. The stir fried noodles was again filled with tasteful spices and cooked very well. Great variety of desserts and drinks to go with it. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience here and would recommend if in the area. Also if you work in the surrounding area they have great lunch deals! Well done Nar Bangkok!

I cannot stop myself to write another review for them, just to spread out how great their food and service.
We ordered a baby clam shell which was cooked in perfect balance of sauce and spiciness. You can ask for less spicy depending on your level :)
A tender beef salad tasted very fresh plus lit sour just spot on.

This newly opened restaurant may look like your average neighbourhood Thai restaurant, but Nar Bangkok is anything but!
I wandered in with my husband and was immediately greeted by the friendly and attentive staff whom delivered exceptional service throughout the evening.
The decor of the restaurant is fresh, contemporary and inviting. The food is authentic and great portion sizes.
We had the Vegetable Curry Puffs, Son in Law Eggs, Pad Kee Mao with Prawns, Crispy Pork in Kana Sauce with rice and Grilled Banana in Roti Bread with Coconut Ice-Cream. Beware - here comes the detailed review...
- Vegetable Curry Puffs are amazing. You can tell that it is made in house by hand and cooked fresh. The flavours were literally exploding in your mouth. Beware they are HOT (in temperature)!
- Son in Law Eggs are simple but yet delicious. Only comments about these would be that they require a bit more tamarind sauce.
- Pad Kee Mao with Prawn was great! Full of flavour and the balance with chilli was spot on (ordered medium spicy).
- Crispy Pork in Kana Sauce with rice was really yummy. We both loved the flavours in this dish. This is a simple dish but it is done right. Only feedback about this dish is that the pork is a bit dry but it didn't ruin the meal because it was so delicious.
- Grilled Banana in Roti Bread with Coconut Ice-Cream is the best dessert I have had in a while. This dessert is a must have! We were both so full but devoured it. The ice-cream had real coconut pieces throughout - AMAZING! (sorry no photo)
Definitely will be coming back with friends and family and recommending it to EVERYONE. Kudos to the Nar Bangkok team for doing an amazing job!!!!!
As a neighbour and frequent diner in this area, the opening of this fine restaurant has been a joy! The menu offers superb variety, the cuisine is delicious! The service is beyond expectation - say hi to Tracey and friends - they make your dining experience the best. Do yourself a favour and visit - you won’t be disappointed. It is a lovely, not expensive Thai restaurant. Strongly recommended for lunch. The only thing that I would say is that If you are vegetarians there are not a lot of options.
Nar Bangkok is the new Thai restaurant on St Kilda Road that has replaced the Chinese restaurant. Walking into the venue I was impressed with what they had done to the place. They could have kept the look as it was but instead they updated the venue. It looks lovely now and looks like a completely different restaurant.
I ordered the vegetarian Pad Kee Mao. I was really happy with it. It was spicy and I loved the addition of the crispy tofu. Definitely the best Thai place I’ve been to in the area and the only one that does Pad Kee Mao!
