Nice little hidden cafe...truely Indonesian in every sense...ordered the Nasi Goreng and scrumptiousaly enjoyed it...next time visit required!!
Ordered some food for delivery. Was good authentic Indonesian food. But my ayam keres (fried chicken)didn't have the fried egg :( Will definitely order again but they'll just have to remember to put all the components of the dish next time.
A must try Indonesian Restaurant when you're in Melbourne.. I ordered Soto Betawi (Betawi meat soup) the coconut milk was a bit thicker than the ones that I usually had in Indonesia, but still tempting tho.. friendly staff and location is easy to find. Would like to go back when I visit Melbourne some other time.
26Oct2016 : This time I came with my daughter for early lunch. I was craving for Indonesian food and they open the earliest one around Melbourne. I got to try theirs bainmarie menu this time. With $12.50 I got myself plain rice (u can choose fried rice), spicy long bean with chicken, chicken curry and deep fried white bait fish. My daughter got herself Ayam Goreng Kremes (fried chicken with crunch) and Ikan Goreng Acar Kuning (fried fish with yellow pickles). Guess what, all so yummy. The fish is a bit pricey ($18.50) but it's okay. Really love the sauce on the fish. Gotta love the chicken curry here also and deep fried white bait fish a bit spicy but crunchy yummy. This time visit I don't have anything to complain about. Will come again to try other menu. Another good thing is they accept card.
08Sept2016 : Was hooked by theirs Batagor (deep fried fish cake with peanut sauce) at South East Asia Festival in Victoria Market. Curious so I specially come to this cafe. Location in the ally somewhere in St.Kilda. Really need to know the address to get here. It's small cafe but not shabby. We ordered Indonesian hawker food platter, green chilly chicken, fried vermicelli and of course Batagor. Disappointed with the platter because in the menu written each item is 2 pieces but it's come with the springroll ; one cut into half, lemper (chicken glutinous rice cake) also one cut into half while deep fried tofu and Tempe (soya cake) each 2 pieces. That's cost $12. It's not worth it at all. Very expensive actually. As Batagor, the peanut sauce not as good with the one I had at festival. They claim it's the same sauce anyway. Luckily green chilly chicken is nice and fried vermicelli is very authentic with Indonesian fried bihun. Service was okay. I still gonna comeback to try other menu. But for sure I won't order the hawker platter anymore.
We been in this authentic Indonesian restaurant many times. So far I'd say they served good dish but sometimes bit down. We had tried soto is salty. Couldn't taste the authentic of the soto. And that beef ribs wasn't great, very tough & hard. But the batagor & green chillies chicken & pecel lele are good. The customer service is great & friendly. It's kids friendly restaurant. Nice for having with group of friend & family.
The Best Indonesian food this side of Jakarta, the spices are the real deal as you cannot get this type of taste sensation using packet spices. Compliments to the Chef and her army of girls who add to the relaxed atmosphere.
Hands down some of the best food ive eaten. I work nearbye, and heard about this place from people raving about it in the office. Hard to find as its tucked down an alleyway, but never dissapoints. Spicy eggplant and the beef randang are my favourites, but when it comes down to it it's all good!
28-JUL-15 : Discovered this Indonesian place by accident and was very happy to give it a go. Was in a bit of a rush so I just went for their $9.50 rice with one meat one vegetable selection from the bain marie. Had the beef rendang and mix veg in peanut sauce. It was surprisingly tasty and I finished everything. Next time I'm nearby I'll return to try more.
Love this place. Really authentic, cheap and run by lovely people. They have different kinds of chilli for different dishes so don't be shy in telling them if you like it hot!
Love this place! Amazing food and service.
With the Indonesian embassy nearby it has to be good.
Beef ran dang is mouth watering!!
