I have to say the Unagi is super nice, I had two serves, it's really hiding in the office area, not many ppl know it. Very reasonable price.
My new favourite lunch place! Every dish is amazing and full of flavours! Highly recommend everyone to give it a try! Chirashi sashimi don and una don are my favorite!
We visited Niku Niku on a busy Saturday night. The colourful eclectic interior highlighted by various cartoon drawings was warm and welcoming.
We had a range of their dishes. The bonito ramen was simple and delicious. The ramen was cooked well and the broth was full of flavour. The chirashi sashimidon was fresh and a feast for the eyes! The delicate cubes of sashimi were expertly prepared. We also had the tempura udon. Once again, simple yet fulfilling. The tempura had just the right amount of crispy batter.
The Yuzu yoghurt drink was really tasty too. Service, while pleasant, was a bit slow due to the endless line of online/takeaway orders ...an increasingly common phenomenon where dine in customers receive less efficient service due to the ever expanding food delivery market.

Niku Niku puts quality in their ingredients. Although they miss out a little on the Japanese feel of the store, the food makes up for it! I want to try their Aburi Salmon next 🙂

It is probably the best eel don in CBD - great price, it has enough of eel pieces, with enough sauce, on enough rice, no too much to be salty, not too less for you to leave some rice behind (yes, I finished the whole thing).
Gyoza is juicy with meat. The Ikayaki (grilled squid) and Spicy Ox tongue Don are great for photo experiences. This place has a funky interior, which the Japanese playfullness vibe in right in your face.
Have to say that the atmosphere of this place is 👌🏻👌🏻. Friendly and fast service. Unagi don was standard tho.
Would love to check out their dinner menu sometimes.
FOOD: We ordered 8-course banquets. It was very filling. Started out well, finished even weller.
SERVICE: It was impressive, and the waiter was very accommodating and patient.
ATMOSPHERE: The décor was beautiful. It was covered in anime-inspired decorations and was very cool.

Used a Groupon vouchure for an 8-course banquet for two. The 'genshiyaki' grill wasn't working but the food was really nice and beautifully presented. The salmon tartare was fresh with a nice sauce & pretty! The beef curry was delicious with the rice served inside an omelette. The giant squid was perfectly cooked, even the edamame was nice! We were very full in the end. Friendly service.
Interior is really special, very Japanese. We came at lunch on a Friday and ordered takoyaki, lotus root chips, prawn and salmon rolls, squid karaage and a Unagi Don. Love the eel! Sushi was fresh and nice flavoured. Other dishes were not too bad as well.
The fancy decoration which I could see many animation figures on the wall, that was pretty impressive.
The Ramen is average but the good thing is not that strong flavor as the other Ramen shop.
I had a mixed sashimi box for lunch. Fresh sashimi. Friendly staff. Quick turnaround. Hip, contemporary setting. I cant wait to try their other options.
Came here on a Groupon, fantastic value, we left both feeling stuffed. The first course was amazing- sashimi in a shot glass with ponzu sauce. The subsequent courses were so nice- grilled squid and omrice were delicious and warm. Worth every cent.
I just tried their eel! And this is lit! You will never get disappointed here. Place is so amazing full of cartoon anime chracters feels like you are in japan.
I will come back for more nikuniku!

Food: Best ramen in Melbourne HANDS DOWN, Lotus chips are incredibly crispy... dumplings are incredible.... oysters deep fried delishhhh..... and the accompanying sauces compliment the food BLOODY well.
This ramen is soooo TASTY with the exact right balance of flavours and chilli 🌶🌶

As a lunch place, the restaurant serves yummy food with reasonable price. A very good size of restaurant with Japanese retro posters on the wall. My una don is served in a good size with small portion of side dish.
Very fresh sashimi, food is very nice. Gyu tan don was excellent, very tender and the right thickness. Very friendly staff and cosy dinning environment.
My Friend Sarah and I love Japanese and it is always suggested when we meet up.While waiting to check into our hotel we came here for lunch. We spent most of the time eating and watching the show on the wall about sushi masters.I liked the curry sauce the most, it was really tasty and delicious. How come when I make this at home, it's not the same?!
Overall I enjoyed the experience. We had a groupon for the 9 course meal. The Lobster was a letdown, it was drowning in cheese which is normally a good thing but it seemed strange for Japanese cuisine, and there wasn't much actual lobster. The Wagyu steak however was to die for, beautifully marinated and tender. The calamari and everything else was fine. The issue was that it took nearly 3 hours, they were extremely slow with bringing out each course
Visited Niku Niku for the first time and ordered their Una Don (regular) for lunch. One bite in and I was immediately struck by how different it tasted from the unagi dons I've had elsewhere. Smooth, melty texture with the seasonings done just right. It was tastefully presented with an appropriate combination of condiments (really good pickled ginger and radish) over a generous serving of rice. The delicate wasabi mayo dressing drizzled over the don was so good...would have loved it they piped more of it all over. Had a nice chat with the owner who explained that they use Japanese eels. Service was wonderful and serving employees were very polite. No regrets trying Niku Niku — I'm making plans to next try their tofu and beef dons.

Great food, the 9 course is amazing for the price. Split it between 2-3. Had it with three and got an extra free ice cream and drink for free!
Was there on weekend during lunch hour. It wasn't pack so we have space for the pram right next to the table. Although this place is relatively new, the service is good. The floor staff is polite and follow up on our order from the kitchen staff without us needing to request for that. They did have quite a bit of take away orders before we place our order. Had regular Gyutan Don (Ox tongue Don). I was able to pick the heat/chilli level that suits me. They have mild, medium and hot. I absolutely love it. The rice was flavoursome and not dry and the gyutan was cook to perfection and the chilli level is perfect for me. The portion is as of the price charge. Hubby went for regular Shogayaki pork. Decent taste, pork was cook to perfection however they could have been a bit more generous with the pork for the price. Looking forward to try their vegetarian options.
$99 for the 9 course feed for 2. Was one of the most filling experiences I have ever had. The two best dishes, the salmon tartar and the wagyu steak. Steak was moist and melted in my mouth. Salmon covered in a slight creamy mayo. Second last course was a beef curry, was nice but not needed, I could barely move as it was and it was a huge bowl. The venue itself needs a bit of a Spruce up. Staff were friendly and quick with the food. If you haven't eaten in the last fortnight you defiantly won't leave hungry going here!
