This place has always been amazing for coffee and snacks, but to their credit, lockdown brought out their best. They have recently introduced bacon and egg rolls/ sandwiches and they are the best you will find in Melbourne. There is no better. Period. Please don’t dare take them off the menu

Vacation has really nice and clean interior. We ordered a cold brew which really really sour, in a nice way of course. Really enjoyed their coffee
Had two of their sandwiches and it was so delicious. Filtered coffee was fantastic. Service was impeccable, the staffs were so friendly. We went there on a weekend and the atmosphere felt like a mini “vacation” - airy and relaxing, sitting back drinking great coffee.

This place is so close to work and always so many people! I can only come here during lunch as morning is super packed.
Got a hot chocolate here and asked for no chocolate powder on top and it still tasted really nice and rich in chocolate taste. It wasn't the usual coffee map machine kinda taste which was nice. The lighting at the cafe made my photo flicker when taking a pic of the coffee cup so might need to take again when I bring it back to the office next time.
‘Wow’ from the first sip! My latte was rich and smooth. The only downside is that this tiny cup was $4.40- worth it though!
This coffee shop is always packed during morning coffee rush. Its calm pastel colours give you a sense of disconnect from the workplace. I've finally had a chance post lunch to grab a cuppa when it isn't as hectic. Menu-wise it heavily leans towards coffee, you can grab a basic bite here if you're not too fussed with options.
We are given some sparkling water after placing our orders, nice as I still had ramen broth on my palate. My latte came out and it was quite hot, just barely drinkable. Otherwise it was strong and aromatic.
Not a bad spot for a coffee with plenty of competition around the corner.
I like the coffee here. And as a bonus the cups are cute. Definitely want to come back to try the food. And to dine in as the ambience seems like amazing.

Today I treated myself to a sit in breakfast before the weekday rush.
I ordered toast and jam, the sourdough bread was delicious and dense, a very high quality bread, just yum. The disks of butter where thoughtfully segmented, ready for buttering the toast and it meant that it spread very easily. As I enjoyed the cheerful décor, I drank my piping hot slightly sweet chai latte.
Salmon/minty pastel colours and I’m almost sold on aesthetics alone. Lucky they have delicious hot chocs, smoothies, and a mozzarella tomato toastie I’ve recently been eating a lot.
Such a really nice, warm, vibrant cute cafe. I opted for a skinny latte on my walk by here this morning, the coffee aroma was quite strong and the coffee was really blissful and did the fix for me. Will be back.
I love the design of this cafe and how it is filled with light. Their coffee is delicious. I get a latte and they get the balance right. Not too milky. Their toasties are a bit pricy though, so I have yet to try one!
Coffee and chai were so good here!! Would recommend any coffee snob (us haha) to come here. Side note- its a 15% surcharge on weekend, but well priced with the mark up anyways
A typical modern cafe (nothing wrong with that) situated on the "outer" parts of the CBD. Definitely a delicious cup of coffee with their own in-house beans.

LOVE the decor here - so cute and quirky! A little bit Florida, a lot pastel dream. Minimalist and tasteful - gorgeous. There's complimentary sparkling on tap which is ALWAYS a winner! The jalapeno chicken was incredible. Toasted to perfection with an amount of dressing to make you convince yourself that it's kind of healthy. My friend had the bagel with avocado and it was topped to perfection. A decent amount of avo and seeds to make even the most jaded smashed avocado fan excited. I didn't have a coffee, but it looked great. Service was friendly and efficient. A recommended little spot out of the craziness of Melbourne streets.

I was looking for a more quaint cafe and something for a lighter bite and I stumbled upon Vacation because of the attractive aesthetic and store layout (as I’m a sucker for pink)!
The food didn’t disappoint! I ordered a peanut butter toast with bananas and it was delicious and very filling for a single slice of toast!
I also ordered an almond milk latte and it was delicious!
The atmosphere is so nice (although abit noisy) but nothing too bad!
Overall, I’d return!

I make a point of walking to Vacation every morning for my coffee, although there are several cafes in between my office and it. Definitely worth the walk, as the coffee is consistently delicious, there hasnt been one time i have thought otherwise.
I have eaten there a couple of times too, the food is simple, but very effective. The smashed avocado on toast is a clear winner, however, i cant pass up the peanut butter and tomato combo as well.
The seating is minimal but for me, thats half the appeal. I love it, and highly recommend.
The best flat white in the CBD. I’m a regular at this place and have been spoilt for taste by their coffee. You will not enjoy coffee from other cafes after trying out Vacation. Staff are really friendly and service is quick even during their busiest time. I even bought a KeepCup to get a 50c discount on my coffee.

It doesn’t matter how busy they are, these young fellas are always smiling at you and coffee tastes amazing.
Vacation is a place with minimal decorations and atmosphere. You don’t go there just for coffee you love to spend time there and have a nice early morning conversation with them.
What I ordered: soy mocha and chicken and avo ciabatta
Good: mocha and chicken and avo ciabatta and the service and the speed of service
Bad: so many people! Made me think of a very crazy packed pastel candy land. And the prices!
The ugly: the floor, when clean, would be a instamoment but there are so many scuff marks in it now
Funky Pink Pastel Cafe ...
Corner block, on Exhibition St and Flinders St, a remnant of its Art Deco era, lightly renovated, White washed, pastel, predominantly Pink and smartly fitted, small but spacious, very inviting ... kudos to the designer.
$3.50 Latte, a combo of their own Vacations brand coffee beans and La Marzocco espresso machine.

The layout of this cafe is minimalistic and clean. It is the perfect place to grab a quick coffee, catch up with friends or even colleagues!

Loving the vibe, bright and warm. Had 2 different blend FW here.
One is Back Beach which surprised me, full of peach and berries, fantastic, very suitable for summer and girls(sorry about the stereotype)
The other one is Foreshore, with nectarine, hazelnut, and caramel, good balanced and taste sweet, but a bit weak to me. Highly recommend!!
The decor is minimalistic and pastel... not usually my 1st choice.. it reminds me of Montessori puzzles, kiki.k and a cafe for young, cool mellenials, but I went in. A choice of beans and a small selection of baked goodies, I just needed a quick takeaway coffee fix.
I was surprised to be greeted quickly and warmly. Great relaxed and calm, friendly service that was still so efficient and had great attention to detail on my coffee.
I wasn't expecting much, but i really enjoyed the coffee. It was made well and the bean to my liking. Their small is small (6oz) and for $4.50 for a small soy latte, it's not cheap, but the coffee really was very lovely. The experience was great, the coffee was great. Will be back, but probably again, just for a quick takeaway coffee :)
Beautiful interior design and friendly staff. The soy latte here is phenomenal - the best I’ve had in a really, really long time. I found it a bit pricey though, with a small soy going for $5. Definitely bringing my own cup next time to save 50c.
Friendly service, stunning interior and outlook, and a damn good cup of coffee. What more could you want for? I also really appreciate that they are open on weekends, when lots of cafes in this pocket of Melbourne are all closed!
Got iced coffee to go with my friend in this sunny day. The interior & the general ambiance of the cafe is so cute and the staffs are nice. However, I feel like the coffee is okay, nothing special. But maybe it's because I haven't tried the rest of them 😉

Adorable cafe near Federation Square with its pretty pastel pink interiors! They serve equally lovely coffee, and their staff was warm and friendly. There's not a lot of seats but they make their coffee really quick if you need a takeaway one! I love how they're encouraging reusable coffee cup use (it's 50c cheaper if you BYO!). Also, I had very first Vegemite encounter here as I shared a vegemite toast with a friend. Surprisingly good and not at all revolting!
Vacation offers lovely vibes in a light filled space. My coffee is consistently great and the avocado toast my ideal brekky. Friendly, fast service, this is my go-to whenever I'm in the city.
Some good, some not so good here. I don’t like the fit out. It seems minimalist and unsubstantial to me. The tones were ok but the furniture seems a tad flimsy. No art on the walls really bugged me, more than I would ever have imagined. As a result, I’d be closely questioning the in house architects. Service was very good here. I was greeted instantly and pleasantly on arrival. The coffee was really lovely. Just the right strength and flavour. My chocolate cookie was mass produced and distinctly unmemorable. The most exciting feature of the whole place is the free sparkling water. That provision is an act of pure genius. Whoever thought of it is a visionary as it’s unprecedented in my experience and most welcome. I could in time come to really like it here.

Haven't had the pleasure of eating here yet but got a takeaway coffee the other morning and it was exactly what I needed. It feels odd describing a long black as delicious and yet I feel inclined to do so. The cafe has a really cool 'holiday' vibe as well, with a pastel pink interior! The coffee cups are super cute, too, with vacation themed prints on them! Given this place is about a 1 minute walk from the office, I will definitely be visiting on a regular basis!
Service here is good, staff have always been perfectly friendly. It's nice to have a new local latté in the area, they sell pastries and keepcups and everything else you'd expect. The decor has a real sensory lad vibe to it, could be the same people? Anyway it's a much nicer place to wait for a coffee than bonnie
Great coffee and a couple of fresh snacks to boot. The avocado toast was a perfect snack to tie me over. Plus I loved the endless savoury soft drink (sparkling water).
You'll be spoiled with choice for coffees; espresso delicious and two filter options.
It really has a great vibe, such a happy place to be in, definitely will be one of their regulars.
At the first sight I already felt in love with their location. An open view towards the sun with glass doors and walls brings this cute place lots of natural light. I also love the colour mix they use, which is quite unique, warm and clean. Staffs are nice and polite. Cannot say that coffee is excellent but definitely beyond average. A good destination for people working and living around to hang out.

Such a good vibe. Staff were heaps friendly and flexible. Coffee was very nice. I had a flat white, and my wife had an iced latte. We were pleasantly surprised as to how naturally and subtly sweet our coffees were. Didn’t have any food, but the sandwiches looked amazing.
The coffee here is consistently fantastic. Great brews. Perfectly executed milk coffee every time. Batch brew always interesting with different beans rotating through.
The toasties are my Melbourne favourite (I cannot figure out what makes the chicken toastie so incredible, but it is!)

This place is amazing! We were visiting Melbourne for a trip where we ended up at Vacation twice. We normally eat at hotel buffets, but this time we didn't have the option. I have issues with lactose so I'm looking for a place with vegan options, but my parents would still like to have something with meat as an option. And Vacation provides exactly that, I really enjoyed the granola that I ate both times and the matcha latte (I think, it's pictured below) and banana peanut butter smoothie were really good as well. The seating arrangement for 3 or more people can get a little funky unless you get the only large table, but that was really the only downside for us.
So if you're looking for a nice little cafe that has both vegan and non vegan options than this is the cafe for you!
Amazing!!! Came here for a quick breakfast one morning and was dying for a toastie. Got the chicken and jalapeno toastie and it was perfect! Crispy bread with a flavourful filling, and paired with their refreshing watermelon and mint juice - just a great breakfast! Highly recommend!

The team is friendly, coffee are awesome as well as this drink (forgot how it is called but cold brew with grapefruit soft drink?) besides, the cafe has such a gorgeous view from the inside.
