Small place in Albert Park that was mostly empty on the Saturday night we visited. The staff were polite if a little aloof. I thought it odd the waitress insisted on using numbers for the menu items rather than their names, and I didn't hear anyone speaking but are these guys even Japanese?
The food arrived promptly and whilst it was fine it was just a little bland. The okonomiyaki was stodgy and drowning in sauce, good gyoza, yakisoba a bit bland with tasteless beef. We ordered a 2014 Chardonnay that actually was a 2015, freezing cold and placed in an ice bucket. Ok, the Japanese aren't renowned for being great wine drinkers, but Melbourne is, and this is just wrong (what you'd expect in Cairns). This is probably a great option for local singles looking for a quick and cheap feed.
Great little Japanese restaurant. Food was excellent and good size serves. Friendly staff and meals came fast. Large choice in the menu and they have Okonomiyaki which is hard to find. 🐈🐈🐈
Lovely local restaurant. We had a wonderful night and I would highly recommend this Japanese restaurant for a nice, reasonably priced meal !
One of my favourite spots to sit on a sunny evening with a cold bottle of riesling and some of the best Japanese Melbourne has to offer. It’s not fancy, the menu doesn’t change up but it’s reliable, very tasty and a good, friendly local. So fresh and perfectly seared the beef salad with a soy dressing and fresh leaves – so good.
Clean and quality !
A cozy little Japanese place in the neighbourhood joint. Very basic fit out. But great quality and quantity for its pricing. Food is excellent and tastes authentic. Particularly one of my favourite place for gyoza in Melbourne.
A big fan of this little hero on Albert Park, a perfect spot to sit outside on a sunny evening with some stunning Japanese and a cold beer!
A fantastic spot on a summer evening, the restaurant doubles in size with the outdoor seating, the staff are full of smiles and it's a great place to rock up with a cold bottle and share some impressive Japanese homestyle cooking. The ebi spring rolls are a favourite, prawns, mushrooms and noodles encased in crispy light pastry with a soy dipping sauce, they are seriously good!
True, this is not one to cross town for, but if you're after a decent casual midweeker on the shady streets of Albert Park, a stones throw from the beach, you won't find much better value around. Service is always sweet, and it's BYO.
An excellent Katsu Don, great service. Classic Japanese, nice staff and good value.
Another excellent meal - I have been coming here for over 10 years and have enjoyed my meal every time. Service is always friendly and atmosphere is relaxed.
Really yummy food, the teriyaki chicken and salmon Teri don are my favorites
One of my favourites in Albert Park. Great food here at fair prices. I love the selections. I normally order too much food because it's all so good. The service isn't bad but there's normally a bit of a language barrier which can sometimes let them down a bit but I still come back and enjoy it a lot. Food quality reminds me of Ichi Ni in St Kilda but it's all a lot more modest, simple seating and a tight little space, it really works well as a different option in Albert Park.
A great local. My partner and I come here often and love it. Bring a bottle of wine, sit outside and enjoy! Service great and food always delicious
Fresh sashimi and great sushi
Impressed!. Our favourite local restaurant for those lazy nights you don't want to cook. Always impressed with the flavours - would highly recommend the special entree calamari, teriyaki salmon & vegeterian soba noodle soup. Never disappointed here. Fantastic value, cute location and cheap BYO. The only disappointment is the sometimes patchy service but doesn't appear to faze my overall experience.
Teeny, homestyle Japanese restaurant. Good food for the price. Some dishes better than others but generally delicious authentic homestyle Japanese. Oh, and the staff are actually Japanese which is nice!
Simple Japanese cafe serving home style Japanese food. This could be good or bad depending on what you're expecting. For example salmon donburi is served on a plate with pickly condiments, not in a fancy bowl. It tasted good, service is friendly and helpful. It's a comfortable place to frequent.
Just a great small restaurant experience. Do not expect anything flashy. It's like dining at a friend's house. Food is good value and hits all the right buttons with taste and simplicity. Reasonable selection. I've been here a few times and like it more with each visit.
Rustic, home-style cooking - great donburi (rice bowl) options and friendly staff. Great local takeaway or dinner restaurant but it's small, so go early or late to get a seat.
Been eating here (eat-in and take-away) for years and it is always awesome. Highly recommend it. Well priced and yummy.

One of our favourite dine out places. Now they also do delicious Korean chicken
Fantastic food, something for everyone, well priced and friendly service. Sit indoors or outdoors, have dine in or take out.
Good quality Japanese food which is reasonable priced. Takeaway available
