Great place for a hot chocolate during a winter season

Great little shop for chocolate lovers with the cafe restaurant down below. Was an extremely hot day when I visited and the air-con was extremely effective. Missed out on my first two choices but the croissant was warm and generously sized. The chocolate jam a great addition.

New manager Annie has brought the liveliness in the cafe. All staff are so nice and service is up to the mark. Love the hot chocolate.! ☕️
Noa Lin
Dark hot chocolate is perfection! Unfortunately, macarons are too chewy and vanilla ice-cream rather gummy.
Casey Snyder
Male server was a bit grumpy but the girl was extremely friendly so she made up for her co-worker! Great tasting chocolate.

Seems like a good place to buy Lindt chocolate. Menu for cafe is not as extensive as some chocolate cafes but you can get the staples
John Kendall
Experience was average. Tables were dirty, very expensive and didn't live up to the Lindt brand.
Natalia Armstrong
Loving this place. Great location. Good to fone with kids too. It's our regular cafe!
Scrumptious GG
I really love their hot chocolate for take away. But today I chose to hv a latte instead cause I wanted to try their cake, so I guess I shouldn't have milk chocolate or I'll be sugar overdosed 😁. Love the tiramisu and vanilla macaroon. Chocolate macaroon a bit too sweet for my liking. Very convenient location, good ambience and friendly staffs.

Groupon $19, 2 drinks and sweets. Definitely not for the weight conscious. Would recommend getting the mocca. The hot chocolate was a bit rich, just a jug of chocolate and milk.

WOULD GIVE A 0 IF I COULD!!!!!i had a problem with this store yesterday wanting to order a grandcake &(to be fair) the staff on shift were v. lovely but could not help me - but said store manager (who would be able to help me) had left TWO HOURS EARLY THAT DAY???but they said she should be in today,& was rostered until 3pm and would probably stay late as had left earl previous day. ok. I am not in a rush. so I come back again at about 2:40 today AND THIS STORE MANAGER HAS AGAIN LEFT HER STORE EARLY???! Like I said the staff in store are good people and i feel sorry for them their manager obviously has no care for store, sales, customers.will be trying other bakeries in area instead, clearly not interested in doing business.

Great place to hang out and have a coffee with mates or friends. Always a treat if you love desserts! <br/>Great location, for a quick drink and then back to shopping! Or a movie 😉
MandyToorak
Quite like it here. I have stopped in for a coffee and it has that chocolatey smooth taste I love from all the Lindt Cafe outlets. Again, like the Southwharf DFO store, it's a good place to sample the best of Lindt at a better quality than the supermarkets. It's conveniently located near the movies and the shopping strip.
VegoLover
Love the dark soy hot chocolate here.<br/>If you order a drink at Chaddy they also throw in a free Lindt ball with it.<br/>The dessert platter for 2 plus drinks is a fantastic deal from Groupon!!<br/>Check out my photo for what's included but there's enough there to satisfy any chocoholics.

I only ordered a takeaway hot chocolate but this was the best hot chocolate I've ever had. The hot chocolate was very very rich but not bitter. It's more expensive than a normal coffee shop but worth the price.
Madeleine
A cafe that sells a variety of chocolates which is ideal to purchase as gifts. It serves chocolate desserts, too. We had the $10 waffle set which sadly, was a disappointment to me. I find the waffle cold and the chocolate sauce to be too sweet for my dark chocolate preference. However, the cafe is an ideal place to sit and have a chat with your partner, friends, or family. It is nice to provide free water during the consumption of the desserts too.

Gr8 little place for a quick coffee and sugar fix- amazing deserts- gr8 staff and always consistent. I'm a big fan of the Lindt chocolate brand so obviously this place is always appealing to me- movie at jam factory, desert @ Lindt 🍰
Little Foodie
Good store, staff really nice, but a little bit expensive for what it is, i guess you pay the name :) but overall it was quite nice, hot chocolate was great.
Kimmie Junnie
Venue: Small and overly cramped with not much room to sit or even bring a small group a long. Low ceilings contributed making the place feel overly claustrophobic. Couch areas along the wall are a nice touch although it's far from enough to save the venue or even make it a comfortable socialising experience.<br/><br/>Food: ordered the profiteroles and was told they had none. Ordered the classic waffles and told the machine was out of order. That is a problem when your main food item on the menu can't even be ordered. We finally received our hot chocolate and mocha and then the deflated disappointing feeling came after. The milk was luke warm and the mocha was more bitter than a short black on its own. Leaving us no option for something sweet (which is what Lindt is supposed to be for) we ordered the White chocolate brownie and was told that it couldn't be heated up. This was very unusual and the only redeeming factor was the side of ice cream we added to the dish.<br/><br/>Service: We entered the venue to be greeted by a cashier that looked like not only that she didn't want to be there but also gave little effort in making us feel welcome. Especially when most things we ordered off the menu were unavailable. She didn't seem to understand that the reason I was speaking to her was order because she was wearing the uniform and that's her job. After sitting down we noticed that this was a common theme with the staff. An attitude that made us feel like we were a nuisance. This alone brought down the whole experience already before even taking a seat.

Terrible atmosphere and the lighting felt cheap, jugs empty of water and only one person serving was not nearly enough on a Sunday evening. When our hot chocolates arrived they were luke warm at best, the jugs spilled when pouring the milk and the table was rocky. Not a great experience.
Lexie
Pretty underwhelming.. the cakes are nice, better than your average cafe but the atmosphere is very boring and the lighting is awful.<br/>The service wasnt anything special either.<br/>

Lindt cafe has an excellent display of chocolates and cakes, however, if you are after a hot drink, avoid any of the coffees and go for a hot chocolate.
Mary-mia Ioculano
You can never go wrong with chocolate, awesome place, walk in the door and you can smell the beautiful aroma of fresh coffee and chocolate, very decadent. beautifully presented and decorated, has a large sitting area which is very modern and clean. My favourite is the chai latte, all their coffees are wonderful. It's a little bit more expensive but sometimes it's nice to spoil self with delicious chocolates and deserts. so it's time to have something special.❤️
Too Much Cake
Better coffee than Max B and I do find the chocolate really sweet. But I think that's Lindt chocolate in general so that's forgivable. Prefer this to the one in chaddy.
Julian
Had a pretty fantastic hot chocolate here the other day. Service was incredibly friendly and fast. Prices are reasonable for what you get. Although since the Sydney hostage situation at their cafe last year, perhaps they should consider changing their slogan.<br/>"Lindt, chocolate to die for." Is a pretty inappropriate maxim considering the loss of life that happened in Sydney. Oh well!
May
Best hot and iced chocolate ever. Also loved their Lindt hazelnut choc chip ice cream! Overall a very pleasant experience in a cozy cafe with lots of Lindt confectionery for sale at the front of the shop.
DuckieLovesToEat
I have been here and ordered the chocolate platter plus a chai latte. I can't say that I enjoyed the chai latte so much. I find the one in CBD does better. The staff were nice.

Located conveniently in the Jam Factory, Lindt offers a selection of premium chocolates and drinks. The hot chocolate was crafted to a high standard however, it was too rich and I felt sick after consumption. All in all, Lindt is a highly regarded outlet that offers a wide selection of chocolates for you to choose from for gifts.
MsDelish
The dark hot chocolate and cookies and cream cake slice was to die for. I really loved it. The service was very good too. The staff were very attentive.
Leandro
Lindt is one of my favourite chocolate cafe.<br/>I really love their chocolate and cakes.<br/>I recommend people should bring as small group such as 4-5 people to enjoy their menu with conversation.
Dee
I went with my friend and we both tried different things.. She ended up accidently ordering two sundais and couldn't finish them so I had what she couldn't eat. The ice-cream was delicious! I had banana bread and an ice chocolate and it was great! So yum.
Arnold Keith
The brownies are ammmmmazingly freshhhh the coffee is very well made and smooth.<br/><br/>Definitely will be a regular.

Another one of my favourite chocolate places in Melbourne. I've been to pretty much most of the Lindt cafes in Melbourne. The cafe's seem to (most of the time) have great discount deals for their chocolates. My favourite drink from this place is their #SignatureHotChocolate and it's perfect for a chocolate lover. The dessert range is pretty good too. If you happen to be a regular, make sure you grab of their drink loyalty cards.
Onahi
Bloody awful! Hair in a dry macadamia brownie which was replaced but still another dry piece. <br/><br/>We both had mochas which were burnt with an odd taste. <br/><br/>Presentation ok.<br/><br/>Service friendly. <br/><br/>Won't be returning, sorry.

Great service, the staff there were very friendly when we had visited. We had the chocolate sharing platter which consisted of hot chocolate, macarons, chocolates, cake, waffles, strawberries, vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. I really liked the cake and waffles. The macarons were ok. But I would come back for this platter again.

We ordered the dome and cuple of coffees. The dish was great and we enjoyed, the coffees was good and the place was also a good. Also, the staff was friendly and lovely.

This is perhaps the nicest (to me) of the Lindt Cafes I have visited so far. The seating area is very charming, cozy and elegant. They have the usual selection of Lindt chocolates, some cake slices (about 9+ bucks) and some cheaper cakes, like brownies. I had the raspberry brownie, which I have never tried before in the Lindt cafes I have visited, and it was nice, just nice, not too heavy, not too sweet, but a bit too dry and not too flavoursome. <br/><br/>Coffee is OK. <br/><br/>The staff were really friendly, and, as the place was almost empty when I visited, the service was very fast. <br/><br/>Pricing is ridiculous taking into account the quality and sizing of the cakes. Just saying. <br/><br/>South Yarrah has wow factor patisseries, so this one falls short to me and it is at the bottom end of my list in the area.
TurkishD'light
Had the molten lava chocolate cake and the sharing platter....the cake was extremely satisfying and the vanilla ice cream was good quality (you can see the vanilla beans). Not too keen on the waffles but the brownie was very delicious.
Bam!
I came here with my partner and was not happy. Coffee took forever to come out well over twenty minutes. They just need more staff and the experience would have been much more positive.

"NOT MY CUP OF TEA..."<br/>Tonight...took my boys for a long walk and a good window shop...<br/>Their REWARD - Dessert at Lindt, Chapel Street, South Yarra...<br/>Thought I was a 'chocolate lover' till tonight...!!!<br/>We had 2 sharing platters, $28 each, and hot chocolates, $7.50 each, so total cost for 4 - $86.<br/>It wasn't okay for the price...<br/>The only thing I enjoyed was the single scoop of vanilla ice-cream over which I generously poured the little jug of choc fudge sauce.<br/>The other bits and pieces on the platter were just too rich for me..it needed breaking up..they should do milk, dark and white chocolate..and much more ice-cream..definitely..OR sliced fresh fruit...it really needed it..!!<br/>And the milk for the hot chocolate was only just warm, so it added to the sickly feeling rather than detracting from it...<br/>Not a lot of atmosphere..it might be nicer during the day..to sit outside..they did have the papers to read...<br/>Our table hadn't been cleaned..that put me off a bit..put me off a lot actually..it was covered in milk, choc sauce and chocolate crumbs...<br/>Won't go again..sorry..<br/>Visited on a Sunday night in August 2015 with my family..

Our dessert plan tonight was Lindt, through Groupon we bought the $22 Lindt Dessert Platter with Hot Chocolate for Two. Lindt does one of the best hot chocolates, that comes in milk or dark, but not white. Last time I checked it was $6-something, but now has risen to $7.50. Making it one of the most expensive hot chocolates in Melbourne.

Lindt is a great company that produces some pretty awesome chocolates. So on a cool night such as tonight, a late night stop off for dessert and hot chocolates was in order. This cafe was not too hard to find and there are plenty of parking bays in front and around the area. As you walk in, you’re instantly greeted by walls of chocolates on display just screaming out for you to buy them… Must resist!

There's a few Lindt cafes around Australia and sadly Australia only but fret not, it's as simple as 1 2 3 to make your own hot chocolate or waffles or fondue with Lindt chocolate bars that's available in most supermarkets. Just heat it up and mix it with hot milk and there you go, now you can enjoy Lindt cafe under your own roof.

Sublime mocha. Sat down to wait for the girlfriend to finish her rounds of the local shops and ordered a mocha. They offer soy which is fantastic for those of us plagued by lactose intolerance. It quiet and cool indoors, those with a vitamin deficiency can lounge on the eternally busy church Street. Would visit again.

Totally Addictive! The mocha's and sundaes are the best, and the $7 breakfast deals are great!
Ashley
Excellent service, divine desserts. Freshly made waffles and truffles are a must try. The waiters and waitresses were patient and friendly and did not chase us out even after closing time. Will be returning soon.

Fantastic service! Gentleman behind the bar made the best mocha I've ever had in my entire life and served it with the cheekiest of smiles haha. Wife ordered the chai latte which was so incredibly delicious she just had to order another cup!<br/>However the standout at this store was definitely the service. The barista was incredibly quick witted and charming, making every customer feel special and welcome.<br/><br/>Prices a little steep but the experience was worth every penny. Will definitely be back for a few more cups!

A bit slow on the clear up!. So going to the café, there were half the tables free of people, but all cluttered with dirty dishes. We moved them and than sat by them for 20 minutes. For another 5 minute wait it would have been nicer for us (and the next people who sat at a table overflowing) to clear the tables. Otherwise good chocolate!

Best milkshake and excellent service. Thank you!

Good staff, good product. Often go to this local store. The staff are always nice and greet me happily as soon as I walk in the door. <br/>I was looking for a gift and was helped by a staff member who asked me how much I was looking to spend - around $15 and were able to find a great gift for my budget which was good: there was no pressure to upsell either which i often find.<br/>Hot chocolates are amazing. They stay open late on fri and sat but get very busy around 8-10, and all through the weekend but on weekdays it's much more enjoyable. Ice cream is good but scoop a bit small for take away. Try the mocha - heaven in a cup.
Hanna
Service non existent.Tables overflowing with dirty dishes and none of the staff seem to care. Attitude disgusting.
Zelduck
The worst service! I waited 40mins for my $7 hot choc & had to remind the staff of my order 3 times. I cancelled my order eventually when I saw that it wasn't even on the barista screen. Should've gone to Ganache instead.
ANGRY COFFEE MAN
Not as good as Koko Black. Prices are a ripoff, staff are slow and inattentive.<br/><br/>The quality and price don't match in my opinion.<br/><br/>The flavour of the chocolate is still there though.
Dkaylah
Very slow service, love the hot chocolate's so Im happy to go back but dont appreciate standing there waiting for my drink to be made while your busy chatting away while I wait. Chadstone Lindt cafe gives you a little chokkie with your drink every time, this store doesnt seems a bit stingy, smarten up your customer service would be my feedback.

Very disappointing :(. You'd think that the chocolate at Lindt would actually taste like Lindt....but no!<br/><br/>I ordered the waffle - and the chocolate syrup tasted like sub standard normal chocolate... and the waffle was cold. The ice cream that was served with it was meant to be vanilla bean and white chocolate but it tasted like milky icecream. <br/><br/>But...the staff are very professional and really nice, I can't fault them<br/><br/>But the food was not up to scratch.....I like 'Shocolate' in Fitzroy - go there - it is AMAZING :)
Brando The Pig
Premium chocolate brand clashed with the maccas style dining area, with staff not overly enthused about what they do. It is pricey for what it is, but the milkshake was delicious!

Oily mess. We had a couple of hot chocolates here and a tasting platter a few weeks ago, with a voucher that my girlfriend purchased. The hot chocolate was only luke warm and not really that chocolatey with the milk chocolate provided (so dark chocolate is probably the better choice).<br/><br/>The tasting platter was unimpressive. it contained a chocolate fudge sauce that had a layer of oil on top. Even after trying to mix it with a spoon, it did not really mix that well. Also contained in the platter were some waffles (to have with the oily fudge sauce), vanilla ice cream, brownies, strawberries and two little chocolate, all which were quite okay. Furthermore, there were two macrons, a hazelnut one and one which we think was meant to be passion fruit, but it tasted rather more oily/buttery. All up it was not impressive, possibly owing to the layer of oil. A bit disappointing because Lindt make great chocolate otherwise. <br/><br/>More recently we ate at the Collins Street with a similar voucher and found it a better experience.

Great Coffee. Abit pricy but worth the money for a great coffee
Boo Galoo
Hot chocolate was near cold let alone lukewarm which was disappointing. Service was ok, macaroons were ok. Maybe I should've opted for a chocolate
Honest Eater
Horrible service, staff stood there chatting while the table which entered prior and after us have yet to been served. They decided to serve a table which had clearly had a few rounds of coffee...oblivious to customers, over priced menu and I will never go there again.
Georgia
Expensive but worth it. Nice coffee and service in a lovely space. Would visit again!
Laura
Incredible and fantastic service.

The macarons.... i mean, delice. Yes the ice cream is a ripoff, but there is really no better place for a macaron in Melbourne. They call them delice, which to be honest i find extremely weird (no idea why they would do that, point of difference maybe?) but they make up for the strange name with their chewiness and vibrancy of flavour!
Legeo1
Bad service but.... Worth the wait! The waffles are amazing! But yeah service is non-existent, makes it a very stressful atmosphere when you don't know if you are going to be a) seated at any time and b) have your ordered taken at afternoon. So my advice, don't go there when you are in a hurry!
Victorian Dinner Critics
Lovely idea, service great but very overpriced. Ordered a mocha and was very bitter and could not drink, macarrons not fresh and lacked flavour, won't be going back
Suedy
Another chain chocolate cafe, but a goodie.. I normally hate chain stores, but I can't deny that these guys do a damn good hot chocolate. Served deconstructed so you can adjust it to your taste, it's real rich creamy chocolate. The strawberry dipping plate is also fun to share, but prepare to die of sugar overload. <br/><br/>Service is always really friendly. Atmosphere is a bit clinical and could be cosier, but it's comfy enough. This is also a great spot to get a last-minute chocolatey gift if it's late at night and you are in a pinch! They're open pretty late on weekends, and may just save your life on the way to a birthday party when all other shops are shut.

Can't wait for the..... Banana macarons to be officially released! It's the best Lindt's macaron (read: delice)! =)

They had a variety of Lindt chocolates, including Lindt cakes, Lindt macarons, Lindt chocolates, Lindt coffees .. everything was Lindt, it was like "Lindt Heaven" ..

Here I had a really great time and this was much better than the one in the city.

The rose macaron was delicious, the passionfruit even better, the pistachio devine. They also showed off their new Spring flavours - green apple with a touch of cinnamon, and banana. The former had a crisp flavour to balance the sweetness. The banana one was surprisingly good with the rich taste of fresh banana. Of course chocolate featured too - mainly in the form of a giant fondu with marshmallows and straw

We only managed to fit an Opera Cake ($13) at this stop. I really wanted to try this after watching Rocco from My Kitchen Rules made this last season and scored a 10/10 for it. The Lindt version consisted of coffee cream and dark chocolate. It did not disappoint. Yum!
