Courthouse Hotel - Melbourne - Photo album

An old style pub in North Melbourne with a strange dining area for food. The food is typical pub style, large and heavy. My vegetarian burrito was very flavoursome and tasty. We also attended the function room upstairs for a play, the space was cosy and well-air-conditioned on a very hot summer day!
Supremely friendly and helpful staff. It's worth booking the upstairs room for a function and coming early for dinner. Meals are competitively priced and they cater well for dietary requirements (there is even a gluten free beer on tap). It's generally pretty easy to get a park nearby on weekends.
The dining room of the Courthouse hotel used to be in a beautiful wood-panelled room with white table cloths. It is now in a tacky, awfully decorated space, with plastic chillis and carpet art. Service was friendly but the food was ordinary. Watch for hidden extras such as $3 extra for mustard!
Fine. Okish food. Nothing crazy awesome. Great beer. Good specials.
Great vibe, friendly staff and the food was great. It's very cozy on a winter's night.
Can't fault the food. It was tasty and exactly what the menu said it would be. That said, the menu was rather boring and not much jumped out as "Gee I'd love to have that". The waitress also told us that quite a few menu items were available that night which was surprising considering that it was 6p
very good menu with lots of interesting choices There are two eating areas, the front bar and the restaurant. The bar has bar stools and benches whereas the restaurant is proper tables and chairs. Service is very polite and the wine list quite extensive. Prices are moderate for this area of North Me
Bar: Friendly service at the bar. Plenty of choices. Prices are average for the area. Was pretty quiet by about 9pm. Restaurant area: food is okay. I was a bit disappointed with my steak. The chicken Parma my friend bought was much better. Verdict: Okay but wouldn't return.
