I love unwinding and zoning out here, very peaceful here but can certainly be very busy at times due to their amazing coffee!
I sat here the other day on the bench by the window in the sun and it was just beautiful!
If you’re in the area I’d highly suggest popping in for a coffee!
My home away from home! Our family have been coming here since it first opened. Chris and Daniel make the best coffee and always so friendly. I remember someone saying it the Cheers bar of Black Rock... so true!
Best coffee in the area, IMHO. This place feels like the Cheers of coffee.. It gets really busy, but staff are always friendly and remember your name. Had the Eggs Atlantic, really hit the spot. Also like the lemon coconut cake. Pretty big portion. Will be back.
Big fan of Uncle Bart, what's not to love! I have been coming here for 3 years and the quality, coffee, food and service have remained consistent and on point. My favourite coffee in the bayside area -- no contest. These people really understand good coffee, so I understand why it's a mainstay. One thing I keep coming back for is the Salmon Dome breakfast, but also loved the Greek Spicy Scramble. Everything I've tried here has been fresh and solid. Keep it up!
I don't usually eat here so can't really comment on the food, except the Baklava which is the bees knees, however the coffee is my regular and the IMHO the best in the area.
Enjoyed pancakes here for breakfast but it’s extremely hard to find a seat. Very cramped and far too loud inside so outside seating is recommended.
I've been here a few times and I will defiantly keep coming back. This place is amazing ! Fantastic food and coffee and amazing customer service.

Best eggs Atlantic I've ever eaten, salmon was fresh and tasty. Nice small place, close to the beach, and friendly staff. Coffee is also very good.
A lovely small cafe in the heart of black rock shops. Stopped here for a quick coffee and brunch. Coffee is quite strong but really nice. Breakfast menu has lots of options and seemed reasonably priced. We soon realised why because the serving sizes are quite small. My partner ordered the corn fritterS however it should of been called corn fritter because he only got one and it wasn't large. His poached egg was overcooked but overall the flavours were there. I ordered the smashed avocado with a side of bacon, lucky I ordered the bacon because once again it was small with only one piece of small toast. Overall I really enjoyed it but we were hungry an hour later. Serving sizes definitely need to be addressed but I'd still come back for round two.
Nice, little, local place with just a few tables for a dine in meal. Lot of regulars coming in and out for coffee.
I ordered a strong latte and the spicy scramble. Firstly the meal was quite small, but don't get me wrong, it was really delicious! Perfectly cooked eggs, creamy and delicious! Coffee was pretty good too.

Popped in for Sunday breakfast brunch today and ordered the corn fritters with poached egg and chorizo salsa. It was amazing - so fresh with awesome flavours. Although the serving size appeared on the small size, it was very filling. We left very satisfied. Coffee was great too.

I really like the atmosphere of this place. The variety of vibrant music ranges from 90s Hip Hop to Soul to Drum n Bass.
The food is very generous as far as portions go. Probably the best Big Brekky in the area.
It is obvious that the food is cooked with customer in mind. I particularly like the bratwurst sausages that come in it.
The coffee is nice too. The right flavour and temperature, lots of froth and generous sizes. Brown sugar provided to scoop for yourself.

Uncle Bart has by far the best coffee in Black Rock. Without a doubt! Always a queue in the morning with locals that know what a good thing they're on. The food is always amazing, fresh, simple and unpretentious. Staff are friendly and create a great buzz and vibe in the tiny space. Highly recommend it.
BEST IN BAYSIDE. If you're looking for exceptional service, fantastic coffee Uncle Bart is the place to be! I'm almost reluctant to write this for fear of my favourite café being 'discovered'. The staff and warm, friendly and always ready to have a chat and smile. Chris, the owner is hands on and treats his staff with care. I'm so thankful they accommodate my fussy order - yes, I'm one of those annoying super fussy strong decaf almond milk people...:)
The food is divine - go the Wagyu burger - it's so well priced for such a delight!
It's a pleasure dining here and bringing the bub - yes, they are very happy to receive bubs.

A Bayside Gem!. I absolutely love this place. It's like Cheers, the place where everybody knows your name. I'm always greeted with a warm smile and the freshly brewed coffee is exceptional. This cosy local gem is a home away from home for many Bayside locals. A visit to Uncle Bart always puts a hop in my step at the start of each day. Don't change a thing guys.
Great food yumms. I went to black rock today with a friend and found this treasure. .. The staff were friendly and I had a burrito breakfast which was orsum my friend goes here regularly and loves that it is always consistent and perfect poached eggs every time. Definitely worth a look....
Great little breakfast destination!. We came to the Black Rock beach last weekend and were looking for a good place to grab a bite. We walked across a few cafes and saw this one packed and assumed it would be good. Waited in line for a few minutes and were lucky to get the stools near the shopfront. Ordered one breakfast burrito (yes burrito :D), big breakfast with the lot and two Single Origin Costa Rica lattes. Yes - the food was very nice, but what blew our mind away was the COFFEE. Very flavoursome, strong but smooth aftertaste, and no bitterness - what can you ask more? They use 5 senses for their blends and use specialty roasters for their single origins. This is my new coffee destination from now!

Good Stuff From chef. My wife and i been to uncle barts last Saturday. I ordered egg Atlantic, poached eggs cooked to perfection wilted spinach hollandaise was so good with good amount of salmon just made my day and wife's burrito was awesome ,,,My wife loved the fresh salsa and avocado with tangy flavored) and with eggs(best scrambled eggs of my life) we just love the food...thanks guys will b back
Nice little venue. This was my first visit out to Black Rock and thought I'd try this place for breakfast. I had the Big Breakfast, which had all the standard inclusions. The only feedback I would give is that it wasn't 'big' enough, compared to other big breakfasts I've had. The coffee was nice. Overall this is still worth a look
Small! But nice enough. Wouldn't rave about it... My friend's eggs were great. My fritters were a bit mediocre - heavy pancake, really. Passable coffee, pleasant staff. Ho hum.

Top notch food and service.. Ever since this place opened, it has just gotten busier and busier. Best coffee in Black Rock, if not Bayside. Strong and flavoursome. Being a creature of habit, I've been a regular for over 2 years. Service is crazy friendly, and I agree with other reviewers, Chris hires the most attentive, friendly waitstaff. Food is consistently good. I've eaten my way through the menu. Standouts are the moussaka, the Big Breakfast and the famous lemon tea cake(syrupy/lemony/coconutty - all at the same time). I am a fat kid at heart, so I will always take a slice of this to go as well. I keep coming back because this is the Cheers of the café world. Everything is home made and it shows. Keep dishing out the good stuff Uncle Bart's. Black Rock loves you.

Cute and homely cafe. What this cafe lacks in space it makes up with food and service. Great B.L.A.T and selection of other treats. Would recommend for b/l any day.
Something with the eggs. Went to try Uncle Bart this morning.
My partner tried the pumpkin soup which she really enjoyed. I had the Atlantic Salmon - salmon on toast with spinach plus 2 heavenly poached eggs. Best eggs I've had for a while. The dish was well-seasoned.
The hot chocolate was gorgeous, and it ranks as one of the best hot chocolate I've tried in a brunch-type cafe.
Uncle Bart has a large selection of tea/cheese/short cakes, which includes a diverse selection of gluten free items - perfect for my gluten-intolerant partner. She had a mixed beery cheesecake which she liked, while I had an absolutely gorgeous lemon teacake. It was moist, with a light tangy lemon kick which is commonly overdone in other places.
While the serving is on the smaller side, the dishes were reasonably priced. We will be back.
I like it. The staff are good. The coffee is the only drinkable coffee in Black Rock, sadly. The food is not bad, more average. The lemon syrup cake is the best with a coffee for a morning pick me up.
Fabulous!! Such friendly service for somewhere so cool. Fantastic value for yummy, yummy food. Love this place! (Only tried Uncle Bart after checking out the reviews on Urbanspoon)

When I ask my friends if they've ever had a breakfast that's changed their life, most of them say no. For me, I have the pleasure to say yes, from Uncle Bart. I went to uncle barts one morning and came out a whole new person. The omelette with chorizo feta and capsicum is the most amazing thing you could ever put into your mouth (maybe second most) - I don't think words can describe this meal. It's like, overwhelming and incomprehendable. Literally, the eggs themselves are cooked to perfection and then all the additives create heaven on a plate. If I had the choice between heaven and this omelette, I would choose the omelette, it;s that great. So, I'm sitting here 4 hours away from Uncle Barts (where I just moved to) - Crying. I'm literally bawling my eyes out with withdrawal from this food. Imagine that you're child got taken off you; this is worse.
So yes. Go to Uncle Barts, and preferably get the omelette. No regrets will be made and your life will never be the same.

A gem! A fantastic place to get my coffee fix on the way to work each morning! Coffee is great, and if hungry they have a delicious muffins available too and you're always greeted at the counter with a friendly face.
Breakfast find!. Every now and then u stumble unexpectedly across a little gem - Uncle Bart's is just such a find. Coffee was outstanding and the eggs cooked to perfection and served hot!!! Plenty of very friendly staff so u don't have to rugby tackle a waiter to the ground to get attention! This is a top find and now my new fav!
Great Little place. I always find it hard to get great coffee out this way, but as soon as I saw the panella bottles and synesso I had a feeling I was in for a decent morning.
Nice feel to the cafe, friendly and great atmosphere. Awesome coffee. I will be volunteering to drop my wife at work more often so I can swing past here again!

My New Home - "Uncle Bart". The single best dining experience of my life.
I've been fortunate enough to eat in hatted restaurants & cafes all over the world and nothing has ever topped my "Uncle Bart" experience.
I can't fault any part of it. The food is clever, fresh and inspired and every dish knocks your socks off.
The sophisticated decor makes you to spend hours in the cafe and the wait staff are second to none.
If I only had one meal left, this is where I'd have it.

Loved the food, quality stuff! My long black was also quite good, but hubby's cappuccino was disappointing - looked like long black with a dash of milk. Will go back for food but not cappuccino.

What a great place!. Great to have a new option in Black Rock, providing fresh food with a difference. The Brekky Burrito is great, Mousaka is lovely and the home made cakes are divine! Not to mention the coffee and the fabulous service from Chris and his team. They are flat out every weekend, which is great, my daughter olivia is always welcomed with a smile ( she is only 10 months), and we love it. We keep going back. Keep it up and please stay!! The size of the cafe is what makes it great, get too big & this may be lost.

Superb. I've been several times and the place is fantastic with that typical Black Rock mood. The coffee is a daily joy while the mousaka is an added treat. To top it off the service is great. I'll be back again.
Love it!. Best coffee and love the chai lattes!! Have had breakfast and lunch here and really enjoyed both. They also have delicious home made Greek treats. Only thing it needs is more seating.
