Amazing authentic Korean food. Loved the fried chicken here, the pork soup above and the beef stir fry. Soju was good too 😆

We decided to visit Gangnam Pocha after hearing about the 30% off EatClub deal :) Not exactly a restaurant - more like a Korean pub but they had a wide range of classic Korean ahn-jus to try.
The waiter recommended Sweet & Spicy/Original Fried Chicken (~$30), Kimchi Mayo Rice Ball ($10), Spicy Pan-Fried Chicken with Mozzarella Cheese ($28), Slow-cooked Bossam with Garlic Chive salad ($35), Army Stew ($32), and Assorted Chips with Sausages ($25); so we got them all lol. Portions were huge - definitely big enough to share with friends. In terms of taste, they were decent but nothing special. My favourite was Army Stew - slightly too sweet but perfect with soju.
However, the highlight of the night was def "So-Maek Tower" ($55) - filled with 2 sojus and 6 cans of beer. Such an interesting way to drink :) Definitely give it a go when you visit!
Great place to entertain. Gave you a microphone! Cheesy chicken was delicious. Would come back.
Home of amazing korean food!
We came here on a cold night and had their tofu soup, pork bulgogi and fried chicken and was really satisifed. Loved the tofu soup as it was filled with flavours and the fried chicken was nice ans crispy.
The staff here is friendly and attentive and we really enjoyed it here
Staff was really friendly and food was nice!
I got Uber eats delivery from this place and it was surprisingly really good!
I ordered the Gangnam Deluxe Box with 2 mains (fried chicken and spicy pork), sides, rice and salad. Huge portions enough for two.
Everything was marinated so well and the flavours were on point! Delicious!
one of best korean spot in melbourne food is tasty, service is excellent Best service by manager.
The staff service is really nice
Great Korean restaurant, beautiful boss♡ and geeat manager and good staffs, they were so helpful and really nice foods! I really recomend this place to you guys if you want try korean pub=)

Great service from waiters
Yum and will come back again
Chicken was yum and it was discounted via eat club
Went there on a Friday night post work with some friends for drinks. We order a Somaek ( soju + beer) tower, it was amazing! Really liked the cheesy omelette, fried chicken and grilled ribs too. It was pretty crowded, so bookings recommended!
The KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) is on point. The staff are all so friend and professional - in addition to the tasty food. I highly recommend Gangnam Pocha if you’re craving Korean food.
Delicious Korean foods! I normally take large groups of colleagues here and it does not disappoint! There's a great variety of food from rice dishes, stews and sizzling meat dishes! The original fried chicken and the spicy pork bulgogi are the top picks. Also on the menu is beer towers, soju and bingsu! It's also quite handy having a buzzer on the table. The staff are very polite and provide quick service.
I ordered a slow cooked pork and it canes with some dipping and garnish like kimchi to eat together. In the middle it came a refreshing and spicy salad that makes the pork doesn’t take all space when I put in my mouth.
The size is enough for share between 3 people so it makes total sense with the price.
Came in late night on a weekday. Dimly lit with k-pop music playing in the background. We were attended as soon as we got in. Ordered the spicy seafood soup and the spicy chicken. The food was good and of big portion. Lots of seafood in the soup, not just veggies. The chicken was crisp and tender. The staff even brought extra side dishes. And to top it, they even gave discount even though we should have redeemed it before going in. Very happy with the service and the food.
The service was not bad at all despite what other reviews seem to suggest. The silken tofu soup and braised rib stew were excellent. The LA style galbi tasted good but was a little tough.
Kimchi Soup for life 👍 always here for the Kimchi Soup and the Happy Hour Tower Beer and Soju. Very friendly staff. Huge portion with decent price.

Best pork in beef broth soup I’ve had! Super yummy and soup is fantastic! With so many Korean places around, this has got to be one of my favourites if not my favourite! Great food and very affordable!

Went to Gangnam Pocha for lunch on a weekday. I had the korean army stew with rice. It tasted quite authentic and pretty good. A little bit on the expensive side though, otherwise I enjoyed dining here.
Highly recommended the pork belly and ribs ✌️ peach makgulri reminds me of chinese sweet rice wine used in making rice wine dumplings😝😝 order uber eats allows me to enjoy my favourite dishes at work (no alcohol)
Absolutely amazing Korean food!!! Highly recommend the tteokbokki and pork bulgogi! Have to come back to try the jjigaes!! The portion sizes are huge so come hungry and share! Really good selection of Korean drinks at good prices. Definitely would recommend this as one of best Korean restaurants I’ve been to!
The restaurant located in King Street, Melbourne CBD between Lonsdale street and Little Lonsdale just right under the residential apartment.
The place was pretty spacious and flexible.
At that time, we went with 9 of us and it would take couple of minutes to set up a table for us.
Cosy spot to hang out with friends or have a drink after work on weekdays or weekend as they open till late.
The customer staff working on that day was really friendly, nice and attentive though he was working alone and the place was quite busy.
I reckoned additional staff to help him out would be great, he did a great job though.
We ordered:
- half & half Korean Crispy Fried Chicken (Original Crispy, Sweet Chilli) for $32.00.
We loved the original crispy fried chicken compared to sweet chilli.
The original one was serve crispy and warm, it was also very tender and juicy inside.
It was well seasoned as well.
On the other hand, the sweet chilli sauce one was too sweet and strong taste drizzled with too much sauce.
Thus, the fried chickens weren't crispy anymore when they were served.
It would be much better if they put less sweet chili sauce.
- Korean Army Stew for $32.00.
The Budae Jjigae was generously served in a typical Korean stew style big pot on top of portable stove.
By default the soup base was slightly spicy, therefore for those who are less tolerant in having spicy food, you'd be better not to drink the soup directly in one go or else you'll get chocked.
Anyway, the Korean Army Stew had spam, sausages, instant noodles, beef and spring onions.
It wasn't the best that we've ever tried but still the overall taste of soup base was slightly above the average.
- Jap Chae (stir fried sweet potato noodle with beef & veggie) for $18.00.
The potato noodle was well cooked served generously with beef and veggie.
Normally, I'd prefer to have the noodle by itself; unfortunately, it was too sweet and little bit watery as they put too much sauce;
Therefore we ordered additional white rice to balance the sweet taste, other than that it was a great dish.
- La Gal Bi (Beef spare ribs with home made soy sauce) for $22.00.
Beef spare ribs were cooked and seasoned perfectly.
The beef was very tender and you wouldn't struggle to eat that.
It was recommended to order this dish.
Overall, due to the cosy restaurant, great customer service and not bad food we still had a good time.
You would spend approximately between $15.00 - $20.00 but you'll be guarantee to have "Happy Tummy".

Came here on a Friday night for dinner. Cute wee place close to my hotel. The guy serving me was so nice and quick. We got the fisherman's meal. So much food, great tasting and came out really fast. 5/5.
come here for supper! the slow cook pork belly in beef bone soup is really yummy, soft and taste great! portion are just nice to share among 2-3 people!
staffs are friendly and generous!
First time trying korean bbq, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Came with some friends from work. We got a bit of everything and I would definitely come back. Food was amazing and drinks even better.
The Dear Luncher, despite all appearance is not a Korean dictator and does not like K-Pop. Try out the Butthole Surfers instead (see below). If feels like there’s a million Korean places to eat now in Melbourne. Is this a trend? A fad? Or are they here to stay?! The Dear Luncher certainly hopes it’s the latter.
The pork belly with kimchi and vegetables are really delicious and tasty! Doesn't have the usual porky stench most Australian restaurants have. The japchae was very nice as well. Seafood pancake was so so, but I am giving 5 stars for the good food at affordable prices and fantastic service. Waiter was very helpful and even gave us free drinks (see canned drinks) to let us have a taste of Korea, because those are only available in Korea. Highly recommend this place!
Very nice food with authentic Korean style. I like the food very much. Also the staff are nice as well. Very nice food with authentic Korean style. I like the food very much. Also the staff are nice as well.
Best fried chicken I've had in a while, shared between 2 friends. It was moreee than enough and satisfying flavour! The tender chicken was fried to perfection with crunchy coating.
I went to this restaurant because of a friend who suggested it was different to many other Korean Restaurants. It truly was different, in fact one of the most hygienic and tasteful Asian restaurants I've been to. Service was one thing, but also the food was within top quality and best of all, the price was inexpensive compared to what it should deserve. I would highly recommend to those who have not yet tried proper Korean cuisine.
a new Korean restaurant.!! Gangnam pocha moved from Bourke st. nice & clean place and service also very kind. Not like a other korean restaurant.
Food taste also distinguishable with other korean place, taste much healthier and deep flavor from base stock ..Have a try !! recomand
Yummy food & friendly service. Nice & bright place. My favourite dish is the fried chicken that we can order a half original and the other half for sweet & spicy. Very generous portion. The price is reasonable. I do not know why this restaurant average price/cost is per person showing on this site, as $40. It would be $15 -$20, per persin for a meal. Hope it gets to be corrected. I have been twice here with my friends. Will definitely return! ^^
Yet another Korean fried chicken joint. The batter seems a little lighter than others but that's not a bad thing necessarily. Service was fine but it was empty. Bentos looked small but value at $8 I guess. Happy to return.
Nice place for having some Korean food. I ordered some take away food and got 10%discount. The dishes were packed very well and taste good. Really recommend .
Our first time try Makgeolli “Korean Rice Wine” … great 👍.
My wife & me, our chicken, corn cheese & corn 🌽 … they are all 😋
Ordered the kimchi soup and half half fried chicken. The fried chicken was juicy and amazing. Would definitely recommend
I absolutely loved this place!!
The atmosphere was so nice and there’s not many Korean restaurants like this where the food is top quality with the best Korean food! The staffs were all very kind and I’ll definitely visit here more often
Best Korean Fried Chicken in Melbourne that I know of. There's a home-y vibe, the staff are very nice and friendly and my friends and I love that there's always a place to eat after some drinks since they open so late.
Love this place! Some of the best Korean food in Melbourne. Fried giblets and chicken are staple but I highly recommend the bossam (pork belly) in soup!!! Great service too!!!!
