We tried the Chocolate Raspberry flourless cake from this shop on a whim; it was late evening and we wanted something quick!
The cake will surprise you with it's richness. It's light AND dense with the raspberry flavor coming thru in every bite!
For approx $5, excellent dessert in a hurry. Will try others and update the review!
Only grabbed a quick take out cap with one sugar which I found abit on the weak side but the texture of the milk was beautiful and perfect temperature. Would def come bck.
Have bought a dozen of cakes now from here and they are quite good for the price. It is sort of a hot-spot for cakes in our group.
I would however want the mud cake to be softer!
Michel’s have recently launched a new surprise cake range where customers can design their own cake. . Gastrology were pleased to be given the opportunity to design our own cake for an extra special 60th birthday party recently. The process is simple. Step 1 - Choose your base size. We opted for the tiered cake as we had around 30 guests attending the party. The cake fed them all comfortably but if you've got some sweet tooths in the crowd, Michel's conservative estimate of 16-28 serves is a great guide.
Makes a great coffee!
You will be surprised at the quality of the Barista
Really good local if you can't get to the more high end coffee places
Lower-end but still consistently good. For a lower-end chain owned by the same whitebread empire that runs Brumby's, Michel’s isn’t bad. The ones I’ve stopped at have had decent coffee. The medium flat white I had here on Saturday morning was on the strong side (I like it that way) with a zingy crema edge on the top foam (which the barista had poured in a flower shape, not that that matters, except for the fact that it showed she was trying to be painstaking with the coffee-making.) Michel’s have a good range of meat pies and other savouries, but what draws me to this place is the sweet patisserie. Michel’s have a better range of cakes, slices, etc. than Gloria Jean’s, Hudson’s and other mass-market coffee-centric joints. I had an apple turnover with cream filling. It was a bit pricey at $5, but it was hefty -- thing must have weighed 400 grams (and probably 375 of those grams were sugar and fat.) But damn, it was tasty and filling! Enough to keep me going through the rest of the day until I have something with actual nutritional value around dinner time.
...loved that Michel's had a wide range of Easter-themed products, like their Party Cake, a delicious Chocolate Sponge Cake topped with milk chocolate Easter eggs. Michel's scrumptious chocolate flavoured gingerbread Easter Bunny biscuit were an absolute hit with the children.
Went there for a hot chocolate, and it’s delicious. Friendly staff and they sell a variety of cakes.
Very good coffee, efficient and friendly service. Officially my new favourite 6am-takeaway-coffee!!
Lovely staff, the sweetest people ever - always happy to have a chat with you.
Remembers my order, and the chai latte is perfect everytime, sweet but not overbearing!
This is a great Michel’s! The new Cakes look amazing and the display cabinets were full and inviting. The coffee was just perfect 👌
Great service and friendly staff. I had their cappuccino and a berry muffin warmed up which were both delicious. Clean area and lots of seating. Overall I had a great experience but it was nothing spectacular therefore I gave it only 4 stars. I will be going again.
