I've seen this Persian Grill place on Elizabeth Street and I haven't thought about stopping before.
But I was looking for a light lunch and I had a look, as you do! Lol
Well to start the service was nice and efficient.
This cafe sells Bureks which is flaky pastry w a filling such as beef, cheese and spinach or for the sweet tooth, apple burek.
I tried a hot savoury beef burek, straight from the oven and it was absolutely delicious. The filling had herbs in it and the beef was ground up. Yummo.
Then I tried a savoury cheese and spinach burek and this was also really good. I just wish it was hot from the oven but that's definitely not detracting from the great flavour of this vegetarian dish.
It was nice to have a flaky pastry w the burek as it made my lunch lighter.
This cafe also sells a middle eastern dessert called Baklava in a range of flavours.
Overall this place is a must visit.

They have very juicy falafels. Would highly recommend them. But the taste of the wrap differs highly depending on your attendant.
The place is small. Preferable to take away though they have place to sit.
Staff isnβt very happy to greet you. But then it is a fast food so it fine.
Got the chicken and mushroom borek and the spinach and cheese borek for only $6.00.
The spinach and cheese one was quite tasty with the strong salty cheese flavour but the chicken and mushroom in comparison was very bland and can hardly make out what the filling was. It wasn't very hot as well.
The guy in the shop was just finishing his beef one and was licking his fingers and said it's Soo tasty soo good!! To me and I said that's good to know lol maybe should have gotten what he got.
Have been to many places for kababs in Australia, but this one has its own unique taste. The Doner kababs are filled with meat and are very juicy. Less veggies and more meat makes the doner worth the money. Try their mixed kabab (Chicken and Lamb both). The place is very conveniently located near the Flinders street.
Saturday nights, after a good night clubbing we got hungry and went here. We got a few kebabs and Chicken HSP. The kebabs were really good but the starlight was the HSP. Perfectly cooked, and would surely recommend!
Best HSP I have had! Makes my mouth water just thinking about that garlic sauce! ππ service is friendly and super quick. Good when you need a quality quickly!
The food was good and warm which most persian grills dont show the best of in quality. However i do find that there were a couple of people doing durgs so it may put customers out
Something was off about the owner. There was a friendly Chinese staffer who seemed to enjoy her work, but the Persian-looking boss seemed really surly. He also seemed very conservative and like he was not enjoying being around this sort of customer. Maybe he was a hardliner back in Iran but fell out and had to leave. He never thought his life would come to this, serving kebabs to drunk heathens at 1am. At least he puts some care into the kebabs. The meat was tasty and a bit crispy and the sauce was really good with a kick, definitely made a worthy kebab. Except that it was fairly small (really didnβt fill out the wrap) so $12-$14 is way too much for the size.
Amazing place. Came here on the recommendation of someone working nearby when I mentioned I was a tourist looking for a kebab place. Well worth the exploration to find it. I had my first Halal Snack Pack (HSP), which was amazing to say the least. Boyfriend was very jealous, but he greatly enjoyed his mixed kebab, which was freshly made and piping hot. The lady running the counter was incredibly nice, and was happy to take the chili off my HSP, which has set a very high bar for any other HSP I get. Would definitely go back next time I'm in Melbourne, and BF plans to bring his friends here next time they're in the city.
What a gem. Previous reviews are spot on. Tiny place selling a small range of Middle eastern foods. My lamb and salad was delicious and inexpensive. Generously sized and very tasty. Exactly what I was after. Loved the Noah's juice too. The lady serving here was delightful as well. Very polite, happy and efficient. Glad to say I started a trend. After I sat down the tiny space quickly became very busy. Really enjoyed my stop here and will return.
A conveniently located cheap small portion food but at the same time very edible and quick. No frills, but very decent no frills. Friendly & eager service.
I'm not a Halal Snack Pack connoisseur but i did enjoy their hsp. I love the soft chunky sliced meat. Good sauce. Open til late. It would be better if the chips are crispier.
Persian grill is the best so much of a variety of great food its all at a great price. staff are friendly and everything looks so fresh

The food was great.I didn't know that Persian food was so delicious.Im going to go to Persian grill again,they even have soup.From the minute I started eating I thought I was in heaven and don't believe people who say it's bad they don't have any passion about this great food.When I was eating I knew that the food was as fresh as possible.

Eaten there hundreds of times. I work at Optus which is very near. I used to eat there every single day, sometimes even twice a day...it's good food, I only reduced the amount because the rice was making me put on a pot belly lol. The ground chicken isn't nice, I see people not liking it and neither did I. If you go there I recommend the chicken thigh fillet, it has been marinated in onion juice and saffron...along with other things that I might not know of, but it's good food. Do what I do, call in advance and order it, they put it on for me, I wait 8 minutes and then I go and get it and it's fresh and amazing. The staff are nice, I don't know what this "they are not happy" business is about lol, but then again I am a regular customer. For me personally, the minced stuff sucks...it's not my flavour...but the chicken thigh I'll go back for any day. Bit of a rant, but anyway...enjoy.
I've tasted lamb wrap and grilled chicken with rice and I can say both of them was great. I've eaten persian food before, but this persian kabab was really delicious. The chicken was grilled really well and it had the smell of saffron which I really loved it.
Lastly, I think Persian kabab is to die for and I will be at Persian Grill more and more.
What a great addition at this end of Elizabeth. Why couldn't this place have been open during the couple of months I was living around the corner from here?!? This is a fantastic eatery to have at one of the central hubs in Melbourne's CBD. It has grilled meat! It has bureks, and not just the usual meat/cheese/spinach ones that are at multiple eateries up the street around Vic Market. They've got cherry and apple bureks, plus one kind that's filled with pumpkin. I'm a fiend for bureks, and I've never seen that. Persian Gill also serves coffee, and they have a case of Western pastries too. When I was waiting for my household goods to get down here by ship from Canada, I hit every coffee spot in the area, since my home espresso machine was unavailable. This joint has all the things I love. May it thrive on a block that's mostly dominated by schlock like the KFC next door and the cheapo pizza slice joints by the tram terminus.
Awesome little joint, serving the best kebabs! Also noticed the owner helping many customers and non-customers charge their phones, after a big night out. What a legend π¦πΊππ»π€πΌππ»
