2 dollar oysters, 10 dollar aperol spritz? Winner! Add to that entertainment book and it’s a great bargain. We came pre theatre and mentioned that to them and they were very accommodating. They have a small but well curated selection of craft beers - the Stomping Ground Hop Stomper IPA is always one of my favourites.
We aimed to try some of their signature dishes and they didn't disappoint, you definitely cannot go past the son in law eggs and the sticks combination. The sticks tasted wonderful but admittedly they were a bit on the expensive side.
The papaya salad was amazing - a great balance of flavours and a generous serving.
The highlight for me was the pork ribs. It wasn't too spicy, and definitely get your hands dirty, licking every last bit of curry paste tasty (or you could wrap it up in lettuce!).
It can get expensive as the entrees add up quickly, but we really enjoyed the food and a great spot for pre theatre dining.
Tonight we stopped here for a pre dinner cocktail. The ambiance was chilled and the environment great for a chat and a drink. We order the Patient wolf and a Dutch courage, both were great and we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere before heading off to our next venue.

Longsong was the venue for my work Christmas party tonight. Conveniently located right above their sister restaurant Longrain this dimly lit venue catered nicely to the hundreds of us that descended. Food was asian fusion and came out in canapé form as well more substantial. I enjoyed Prosecco by the glass and the skewers we super tender and tasty. They had red duck curry and slow cooked lamb curries with smokey eggplant and yogurt. Food was far more plentiful that venues from previous years and we all had a really good time. Sorry no photos.

We were here on a weeknight. We arrived around 8pm and there was hardly anyone there. Fearing we would be rushed for dinner, i was about to turn around and leave. But the wait staff was very welcoming and assured us there is plenty of time for dinner.
Really like the decor and would suspect Friday and Saturday nights would be be happening here.
Food was great. We didn’t think we ordered much but definitely very full.
Came on a Saturday night when in the area. Got seated very quickly and had a large punch bowl. The drink was delicious but had lots and lots of ice which limited the actual amount of liquid in it. Was a nice ambience to it.
Sophisticated warehouse style venue with bar and restaurant section. During February they have had a great happy hour with $2 oysters and $10 spritzes. They also have cheese night on Wednesdays. Between two people we shared the raw fish betel leaves, the whipped smoked fish with crisp bread, the beef tartare, the hot and sour calamari and the wallaby skewer. We also ordered the racellete cheese toasty. I absolutely loved the selection of dishes we chose. Everything was fresh and incredibly flavoursome.
Nice place to enjoy a drink whilst we waited for our table at Long grain. With the high roof top and plenty of seating we enjoyed a couple of pre dinner drinks.
Yet to try any food will be back to check this out.

The cocktails are to die for and the finger food were delish! I especially liked the pork skewers. Great overall experience... good service and amazing fitout!
Long Song has a beautifully decorated venture. It’s very spacious and has a converted warehouse vibe. We ordered a few rounds of cocktails they all are impressive! Food is amazing too especially the chargrill chicken, it’s one of the most tender chicken i could remember. Highly recommend it !
Amazing Selection Of Drinks with delicious snacks. must try the black angus porterhouse. Tappy hour from 5 to 7, which makes a perfect place for pre-drinks.
Service was great, at least for the first half of the meal (abit slow for the second half). Food was simple but nice, especially the skewers. Drinks were a standout. Being able to book online is great as well. I'm surprised by its low rating.
We were looking for a restaurant that had more of a quality feel than many of the walk in restaurants around Chinatown in the Bourke street area of Melbourne.
We came across Longsong and it seemed to fit the brief without being too expensive. As a vegan I was able to choose the salt and pepper silken tofu which was fantastic and I would highly recommend.
My wife had the scallops which come in a hot sauce. The waitress was kind enough to provide some cucumber and cool dipping cream (complimentary) to take the hot kick from the dish. This again comes recommended.
We actually ate here twice in 3 days as we found the staff and food excellent so if your budget can be stretched just a little it is well worth it.
I’ve been wanting to try this place for the longest time, and I’m glad I did. It’s got an intimate feel despite the large size and the high ceilings. The lighting is dark and perfect for a drink or a meal.
We tried the special chicken satay which was full of flavour and delicious. The potatoes were also a highlight, rich and delicious. I also really enjoyed the cauliflower starter.
A really great bar, I recommend.
Came for dinner on Saturday night and was surprised it wasnt too busy. Cool space and vibe. Ordered 3 courses and everything was delicious. Highlights included comfortable couch, poached pears and custard and roasted artichokes. Enjoyed the food more than Long Grain! Loud but not too loud, but probably wouldn't bring a large group.
Fantastic looking venue! Love the Thai elements it captures. Drinks were reasonably priced and had a decent selection. Bar staff were friendly and replaced our drinks without hesitation when we weren’t happy with it.
I would hope that there would be better ambience of music being played in the future.

Cool vibe and plenty of seats for after work chill drinks or even having dinner. I would prefer the food at long grain but the if its a bar youre after then here is the place to be. Only slight let down was the staff service, i had to wait awhile to even grab their attention
Great new bar on Lt Bourke. Love the cobbled stable floors, paying homage to the building’s original purpose. Big open windows are perfect for summertime drinks. Will be back!
Awesome dining experience in the newly resurrected Longrain. It’s a huge open space with high ceilings, raised bar seating and tables all well spaced out. There’s even a fabulous cocktail bar upstairs serving unique drinks with SE Asian snacks.
The service was superb from start to finish - there wasn’t a single moment where we were left wanting.
The food was simply sensational- every single dish was perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. The famous egg-net was amazing!
Overall a really excellent Saturday night out in the city with visiting interstate friends.
Great semi-fine dining restaurant that heavily influenced by South East Asian taste especially from Thailand. I would call it modern asian as the flavour profile is quite westernized. The meat dishes are cooked perfectly as it was soft while maintaining crispy crackling on the pork. The betel leaf entree is the star of the night for us as it was an explosion of flavour in our mouth.

Gorgeous restaurant serving up modern Thai food in an urban industrial location. Excellent service and food, really nicely done and super impressive. Not cheap but hard to beat, especially the pork belly - every inch of it was cooked to perfection, so it was well worth ordering. Service was great too, just very friendly and capable
The restaurant was pretty much full on a wet & windy Wednesday evening so we were looking forward to a hot spicy meal. A nice buzzy feel yet intimate ambience due to the darkened lighting. Service was friendly & helpful. We had the banquet menu with the addition of their deep fried fish. Overall - all dshes were OK. They tasted authentic yet somehow the fire & spice of our expectations were a little below expectations. We had a satisfactory meal overall but no wow factor.
This place has a fancy interior design and a huge window facing the lane. Those two little bites were freshing and delicious. While I recommend the crisp while fish. Its my first time having the entire fish fried on my table 🤣🤣🤣. It tastes really good.
Longrain is my go-to restaurant when it comes to fancy Thai fusion food. Must try the pork belly, egg net salad and any entree with betel leaves.
The curry is normally a bit too mild for my liking so really surprised when we ordered the hot and sour curry with rockling, as it was pretty hot and sour, really hit the spot! Also must tru the sticky tamarind pudding for dessert. It was amazing!
Amazing food and cocktails. Absolutely loved the service. We love thai food so much and Longrain was amazing I highly recommend. It’s a perfect place for a date night or with friends. Pre booking is essential.
Great authentic Thai food. We really enjoyed every bite. Just moved from Bangkok to Melbourne this is a nice find to have a few flashbacks. It’s a bit westernized but hey many places in Bangkok do that too. Staff was amazing. Super friendly and always spott on. Every dish was carefully explained and all the dishes are available as veggie option too. Can’t wait to go back soon.
