Lovely night out with my vegan bestie at this humble little hut. Started with satay skewer--the stealer of the show, crispy fillet surprisingly zesty with the vinegar dip, pineapple rice added with Malaysian Curry Laksa. Raw coconut Chai cheesecake was also a great touch with the lightness of its sweetness. Everything was wonderful to the tee!
If Vegan food tastes like this, I have no problems in turning vegan. An utterly delicious surprise in the name of food. Pick any dish and you'll not be disappointed. I have tried about 7 dishes and cant really pick the best. But if I absolutely have to I would recommend the crispy fillets. One of my best finds in Melboure for sure.
Ordered:
- Popcorn Nuggets (special)
- Spring Rolls
- Hainanese Chicken Rice
- Indo Mee Goreng (special)
- Malaysian Milk Tea
Started with the popcorn nuggets and spring rolls. Nuggets came with a creamy tartare/mayo sauce. Nuggets were crispy on the outside and moist on the inside.
Spring rolls had a crunchy flakey skin. Slightly bland but dipped in sweet chilli sauce gave it a nice kick.
Hainanese Chicken Rice. Rice was moist with a surprising ginger-aroma which was quite enjoyable. The mock chicken meat had a crispy skin and the “meat” was soft and easily tore apart. Paired really well with the rice.
Indo Mee Goreng. Good ratio of vegetables, noodles and sauce. Sauce was salty and spicy (enjoyable) but could have had a slight sweetness to it. Overall, nice and simple dish.
Malaysian Milk Tea. On the stronger side. Still enjoyable.
Very delicious rice, noodles and good service. ♦️ definitly will come again and try others, just live nearby lol. Recommend recommend recommend
One of my favourites!
A much needed vegan restaurant in the vic market area, service is awesome and the food is consistently good! Food is Chinese style, best done sharing in a large group
I came here last Sunday with my friend who decided to show me to this lovely place. First time eating vegan I was suprised how nice the food tasted. The pricing for the food is ok for what you get and it is quite filling. The customer service was wonderful and the food came out in ten minutes, so it was quick. Would go again~
fantastic vegan food, particularly the Mongolian BBQ. lovely staff and great vibe. I go here all the time as it is around the corner from my work
This is the third loving hut I've been to and I love them all. But I don't reccomend the salt n pepper tofu, it was bland. The green curry and Mongolian BBQ are the best though. But they need to improve their service, they lost my friends order so she got her meal well after the rest of us. The meals all came out at very different times. But the people working there are nice.
My go to place, knowing that I can basically eat everything on the menu is excellent. So far my favourite thing on the menu are the satay skewers, I’m sure they know whenever I call 😂.
Apart from that I’m super happy and that it’s closer to my work 👍🏿👍🏿
Service was friendly. Food was delicious and my daughter was made to eat her words that was so tasty was all vegan.
Will happily go back to try different things.
If you're familiar with the Richmond restaurant menu you'll know what to expect. I've been here six times and have enjoyed every meal and service is great. An excellent vegan addition to the area.
Great food, I've been twice now and have had the Pineapple Rice and the Assam Curry, both were very tasty and large portions. I'm definitely going back to sample the rest of the menu. My friends also has some great looking food, very fresh looking. Service is friendly. Would recommend. It would be nice to sit out in the street in the front, but I'm not sure if they have a licence for that.
This new Loving Hut restaurant was opened two weeks ago. It replaced the previous vegetarian/vegan restaurant White Lotus. The restaurant is bright, clean & looks much more modern than its other two restaurants. Service was attentive & polite.
Ok, let’s talk about more important stuff, the food..It was superb! The menu is noticeably different in that there were no Vietnamese food on the menu, instead it was Thai, Chinese & Malaysian food. The papaya salad was so refreshing, great for a summer’s day. The salt & pepper tofu was crispy & perfectly seasoned. The curry laska was massive with lots of tofu. The pineapple rice was beautifully presented (curry flavour). Spring rolls were good, but it would have been nice if served with a few lettuce leaves for some freshness. Overall, I loved this new Loving Hut!
Amazing food, amazing service! Food was beyond expectations for someone who's not vegetarian. Everything was really tasty. Highly rec the Pad Thai.
2019: Great dishes overall, loved the chocolate cake and green curry especially. The rendang was a bit different from what we're traditionally used to though, but might just be a different version of it.
Service was fantastic and staff were so friendly!
2021: Just as amazing as I remembered! Tried the char kuey teow, pad thai, nasi lemak, crispy delight and massaman curry this time and everything was amazing! Staff were super friendly and attentive once again!
Yummy food! Highly recommend the milk tea, Pineapple Rice and Crispy delight. Friendly service from the waiter. Nice, relaxed vibe. Will definitely return 😆👍
One of the many branches around the world serving vegetarian dishes. There are various dishes to choose with seasonal specials too. The Laksa was tasty and can compete with non-veg Laksa dish. The black Bean Noodle comes complete with mock meat which is surprisingly close to real meat

Great vegan/vegetarian restaurant close to Melbourne CBD. I find that there are not many restaurants with their kind of menu in the city. When I walked past and saw the place a week before, I decided to give it a try on the weekend.
They had a quite extensive menu list and I looked up the options before I came and seemed almost everyone recommended Mongolian Beef BBQ. So I ordered that with Cha Kway Teow as well. I must say they were very tasty! The mock meat really tasted like beef! I could understand why people recommending that.
The staff was friendly and we had a quick chat after we finished our meals. Definitely going to go back to try their other dishes.
So nice having this vegan restaurant in the CBD! Some really great options here like the Mongolian "beef", satay "chicken" and all sorts of noodles. Plenty of options without mock meats if you aren't into that. And staff are super friendly!
Being the only vegan restaurant in the street (the restaurants around do not even have vegan options), we were attracted by the massive yellow 'VEGAN' sign at the door. The menu is extensive and offers options for raw vegans and also for vegans that love their soy protein. The service was absolutely beautiful, we were warmly welcomed with a smile by the staff and the food was perfect! Not only tasted amazing but it looked amazing. Best Pad Thai I've ever had, perfectly cooked, the sauce was delicious (and I used to love my chicken pad thai before changing my diet). If you love your soy protein, trying the mongolian curry is a MUST. If I could give this place 100 starts, I'd give it 101.
The Mongolian BBQ was incredible. The 'beef' was very close to real meat and the sauce was perfect with a nice chilli kick. I'd recommend this dish to anyone.
The Royal Rendang was okay, but not my thing. I'm not vegan, but I had a vegan with me and she wasn't a big fan of it either.
Finally, the Cripsy Delight had delicious batter and the vegannaise was good. The filling is okay, but not for me. The vegan at the table loved it though.
