Hands down the BEST Korean Fried Chicken joint in town. If you want to have proper authentic KFC, visit Buza and try their Sweet Onion Chicken and Smoke Soy Chicken. I promise you won't be disappointed. Delicious, cheap and a huge portion - what more do you expect? Whenever I crave Korean Fried Chicken, this is my go to place
Been here a twice and both times it was great! Prices are pretty good and very tasty food. Recommend the boneless chicken (smoked soy), kimchi jigae and kimchi pancake! Even if you don’t like kimchi as much it is yummy. The tteokbokki is a very interesting dish: mixed with noodles, sausages, fish cake and an egg! Level 1 is already quite spicy. Overall a great place, good for groups of 4 bc of the booths.

The staff are very accomodating and kind. The food is so delicious and the different flavours of the food 🤩.
Buza said they only took bookings for groups of 4+, but when we rocked up as 2 we couldn't walk in. It doesn't seem to be beneficial to go in as less than 4... so we chose to get takeaway.
Ordered:
🍚 Kimchi fried rice ($15.00)
🥘 Spicy seafood soup (medium) ($33.00)
🍗 Half soy smoked chicken ($18.00)
🌽 Corn cheese ($12.00)
Review:
This was an unreal amount of food for 2. Yet we tried our best!
The seafood soup was sweet but the day 2 reheating only made things sweeter. The broth is genuinely delicious with lots of flavour. Highly recommend!
There's only so much they could do for presentation and taste on takeaway food, but it wasn't too bad.
When we went inside to order, the atmosphere was very cosy, pleasant and friendly. It seems like a great place to hang with friends to catch up and be rowdy.
Bring cash because there a credit surcharge!
Love this place! The roast chicken with abit of spice - so yum!
they seriously need more staffs.
I came during the dinner rush and have to wait about 15 mins to be served
This is my go to fried chicken place. I really enjoy the normal fried chicken. It’s nice and crunchy !
Back again cause it’s always packed and always open and always yummy ! This is our go-to late night chicken place!
This place is always crowded and a good place for get Fried chicken and beer.
One of my favourite Korean Fried Chicken with bone ( I have 2 favourite KFC) in Melbourne
Never disappointed with Friend Chicken, it’s always crispy, moist and well coated as well.
Also love their Tteok-bokki which we always order the most spicy and the staff advise us that Tteok-bokki is already spicy.
Well.. we love spicy food and we find the Tteok-Bokki is sweet spicy but it’s tasty.
Came here after midnight and it was still quite crowded. The place was quite spacious and it's just full on drinking vibe with people chatting and laughing. Staffs were friendly though our food did take a while.
The original fried chicken (boneless) was quite nice, there were some breast and thigh parts, with the latter being better as the breast was bit dry. We like the seasoning and the portion was quite good for half size, thigh was juicy and meaty but we just find the coating a bit too much.
We also had some extra sweet chili sauce which was quite nice, I do love the picked radish and slaw though the sauce can be bit much and they're refillable!
Also got the vanilla ice cream which was surprisingly good lol, came with some frozen berries and choco wafers.
Overall a pretty good place for chicken or just some late night booze and snacks
( follow for more!🌸)
xx,joelle.
Stews and fried chicken on a cold night, and not forgetting some soju would be good. Visited on a friday night and it was packed. There was a good range on the menu and we finally decided on the kimchi pancake, boneless fried chicken, ginseng chicken soup and some soju.
The fried chicken was really good and the batter was light and crispy. The kimchi pancake would be good it was crispier and the ginseng chicken soup was really good. Definitely recommend the fried chicken and ginseng chicken soup.

We had the spicy chicken stew and smoked soy fried chicken. The fried chicken was godly, we finished the whole thing and we walked out of the place knowing we would come back for more fried chicken. The stew was a little too spicy for us though. The food took a long time as well, which is understandable considering that fried chicken can take a while to fry to perfection. So expect to wait for a bit.
Great place. you have to go!!! strongly recommend Soy Smoke Chicken and spicy chicken feet!! Every menu is sooooo nice and some staff is rude, I know but I don't care. If the boss see this review, there is only ONE thing you need to fix, that is about your staff. Food is the best in this city .
Great Korean restaurant. It can be very busy so be prepared to line up for a short time before you get a table. The chicken was moist and had crispy skin. Tteok Bok Ki can be very spicy so if you can't take the heat don't order it with additional chilli. The pancake and other dishes we had were probably better than another Korean chain restaurant l have been to.
Buza also had a good range of Soju to compliment our meal.
Its a great place to get good food at reasonable prices. The staff is friendly and the chicken is tasty.
They are usually very busy so the wait time can be a buzzkill
Probably one of the best places for Korean fried chicken! Yum! However I would give the bulgogi stew a miss! There was barely anything in it.
KFC with a twist.
Smoke Soy is a must!
For kimchi and fries lover - Kimchi loaded fries would blow your mind.
Fried rice cakes with sweet and chilli sauce is another unique dish from this place. What could be better than fried toppokkkkiiii??
However, don't panic with the small portion of this particular dish, the rest of the dish are pretty big portion (especially the fries).
Oh! They also provide massive amount of salad on the house (you even can ask for more if you want)
We went on Wednesday nite and the place was packed! Definately give it a go.
Maybe the best Korean fried chicken in the CBD! The chicken wasn’t oily and very crunchy! It was very spicy for me (but I’m a little weak for pepper) but even though the taste was amazing!
The place is not so big and if you are planning to have a celebration with friends my advice is book before go otherwise you’ll wait in a long line!
Great experience here, service was fast and friendly. Portion of the food was a tad small especially the chicken, but was yummy. My favorite was the beef ribs with chilli in hotpot, meat was amazingly tender.
My fav Korean boneless fried chicken in Melb! have tried 40+ different restaurants - chicken pieces are nice and juicy, lots of meat outside not too thicc and right amount of crisp - Smokey soy is da bomb yo! A1

We dined at Buza for a friends birthday dinner and I must say I am in love with this place. We had to wait in the line to get a table, the line moved pretty quick and the staff were efficient with cleaning up and allocating tables.
Personally, I don't prefer eating fried chicken it's just not my thing but couldn't say no to the birthday boy. They have so many more dishes to choose from other than fried chicken. We ordered half serve's of Smoky Soy Chicken and Sweet & Spicy chicken along with Popcorn chicken, Cheesy Corn and Chicken Giblets. Absolutely loved the Cheesy corn and the Giblets.
For drinks we ordered Original and Plum flavored Soju. They have specials on Soju and Beers. Overall I know I am going back for more and taking others who haven't been there.
My go to fried chicken spot with yummy chicken and great portions! Open till late too which is a big plus especially after a night out! Don’t skip out on the soy chicken 🤤🤤
Good night snacking place. Cheaper flavoured sojus on weekends so that’s a big plus for those who want midnight food and drinking. The chicken was not so spicy for mild. The beef was seasoned quite well.
Pros: the fried chicken here is heavenly! One of the best korean chicken I have had. It's so crispy on the outside and succulent, juicy on the inside. Bulgogi beef was flavoursome with added mushrooms, zucchini, onions, carrots etc (other places do not add much of other vegetables).
Cons: honey mustard sauce is average. Corn cheese could of had a bit more cheese and be melted more. Music played in the background was a bit too loud to converse properly with friends.

As a fried chicken lover, I finally found another kfc joint that is better or as good as Gami. Love their white onion sauce chicken and the spicy one. So good! Would be back for sure
Had a really excellent soy (smoky flavoured) fried chicken, with a cold Cass beer. Really relaxed vibe and prompt service makes for a good experience.
In terms of Korean fried chicken in Melbourne, I’ve pretty much tried them all. It’s just one of my favourite treats and I’ve loved it since the day I first ate it. Tried buza out for the first time last night and can confidently say it’s become my new fav when it comes to KFC. We ordered the snow cheese (died) and soy smoked flavour for our chicken and were just so amazed by how delicious, crunchy and juicy the chicken we got was. Serving sizes were also generous for the price and cheap drinks. With the pickled radish and cabbage with the sauce, everything just compliments each other so well. Can’t wait to try the other flavours and if you haven’t tried it and love Korean fried chicken, do yourself a favour.
I have had the soy smoked bone chicken (called 'bone chicken' to distinguish it from the boneless chicken I suppose) which I found consistently over several different occasions to be very good, with a crispy coating. However, the service wasn't great. During their busier hours, it's rather difficult to find a seat, as there is usually a line for people waiting for a table, but it's rather confusing who goes next, and which tables you can simply sit down at, as none of the staff seem to pay attention to the line.
I am yet to try any of the other menu items.
Okay, this is officially my new favorite Korean chicken (or chicken in general) in town!
I love this better than the G-chicken HAHA.
We had their spicy cheese chicken — spicier than expected but actually delicious, generous amount of mozzarella and tasty cabbage; the side steam egg (my friend loves this); and their half-half spicy and smoked soy chicken with bones. The smoked soy was YUM!! It’s almost taste like grilled chicken but it’s not (or is it? HAHA). The spicy chicken was less spicier than the cheesy one (even though I ordered the hot one).
TL;DR recommended and will definitely come again!
Had their corn cheese, snow flake chicken and sweet spicy chicken. My favourite was the kimchi cheese pancake so crispy! Marinated radish was nice too
I like this Korean restaurant. It’s a great place to hang out with friends and chat over some beer and fried chicken. The tteok-bokki (which is essentially stir-fried rice cakes mixed with fish cakes, boiled egg etc..) is simply divine. Just note that the level 1 spiciness is still spicy! Even for my Korean friends who are usually good with their spice intakes. (Just drink heaps of water and you’ll be fine!) This place has become a hot spot for those interested in all things Korean. The music playing in the background is Korean and the interior is designed just like what you can expect to see if you go to Korea. From the three times that I’ve visited so far (all between the hours of 7pm - 12am), I’ve found the noise level to be extremely loud. It makes for a fun atmosphere between friends but not so much if you’re on a date. The food is delicious. I especially like the smoked soy-fried (boneless) chicken which reminds me of the street-food style satay chicken skewers. Meanwhile, I find the bulgogi stew, a great choice if you’re wanting to share between two. I do recommend this place, as the food does not disappoint. Staff are sometimes welcoming and service is decent. P.S You have to pay for the kimchi here unless it comes in a set. **NOTE: Minimum $30 surcharge 1.5% for any type of card debit.
Came here with a group of 6 ppl and spent around $20 each.
We had 2 jugs of fat yak beer, 1 whole original chicken, 1 whole sweet chilli chicken, kimchi jjigae and pork and squid stir fried.
Their original chicken is really nice! Fried really well, the flour itself is tasty. Sweet chilli one just okay as well as the kimchi jigae and pork and squid stir fried.
Kimchi jigae + pork and squid stir fried aroud $15 ish for a personal portion.
*update
Original fried chicken is the best!
Snow chicken is okay, first - second bite good~ after was okay.
Smoke chili something something. Taste really okay
Then we had the budae jiggae.. the broth is light instead of red(?) tasty tho!
3.5/5 :) okay.

One of my favorite chicken i’ve taste in melbourne. The restaurant location is easy to reach. Moreover, the price of the food is cheap and you can share the food with a lot of people.

Hands down the best fried chicken in Melbourne! Super crispy, super juicy, super yummy! I like my chicken plain without sauce but it’s always good to get the sauce separate! Cool, hip, busy restaurant that is one of my favourite places to visit after a long draining day at work!
Tbh we waited for a long time after we placed the order and the staff brought us water after one hour we sat there and we actually asked for water when we ordered. Service need to be improved but the food!!!!!!!!were much more delicious than we expected!!! Fair enough.. worth my wait haha..
Absolutely loved the soy smoked chicken here! A dish that is quite unique, but will still appeal to most palettes! Original chicken is also above average- well seasoned and crunchy, and although the batter is quite thick, I didn’t mind.
The 2x spicy hotpot tteokbokki, though, didn’t quite hit the spot. It was spicy, but in a bland wishy-washy way. Disappointing.
But definitely do the chicken and you won’t regret it!
We ordered:
rice cake for 2
Half of the sweet and spicy (hot) chicken
Kimchi fries
The rice cake was delicious, very generous serving and was nice and chewy, exactly how we like it. The chicken was super crunchy and flavoursome. Kimchi fries however was slightly bland and the chips were very soggy. Service was efficient and friendly
Update
Tried their smoked soy. Sensational. Really loved the flavour. Sweet chilli was ok.
The white sauce with onion was bleh.
Kim chi pancake was good.
—————————————————-
Overall average. Service was not as good. Waitress had no common sense. Not going to talk about that.
Gizzards was ok.
Steamed egg yum.
Fiery Cheesy Chick good.
Hot pot Tteokbokki. For someone who can handle spicy food. I’ve ordered level 3 spicy out of 6. This was uncomfortably spicy.
Snow Cheese Chicken. Nene chicken does better snow Cheese.
Seafood Pancake was good. Thick, cooked through and generous seafood.
Late night eats as it opens till late. Better than average Korean place for fried chicken! The tteokbokki w japchae(spicy) is pretty good! However the mandoo is a lil disappointing.
(3.5 Stars)
Food: We ordered the Snow Chicken, Boneless Popcorn Chicken, Spicy Squid + Pork Bulgolgi & a side of Fried Rice Cakes. Overall, we left with happy tummies, but I could pick on the excess oil in the bulgolgi, and that impacted on how well the spicy flavour actually came through (it could’ve had more kick!). We could all safely agree that the Sweet-Soy Popcorn chicken was the standout, and I found that both fried chicken dishes were seasoned well, and not too oily!
However, the fried rice cakes - also the smallest dish, came out waay too late, we had to ask when we would receive it. Rice cakes were not outstanding, but not bad either - sauce was yummy though.
Service: Yeah dont expect a whole lot in this aspect; it was dinner, they were busy, and not a whole lot of time to be friendly.
Atmosphere: dimly lit, a little bit on the noisy side, but nothing wrong with it!
Some of the best fried chicken I’ve had in Melbourne! I forget the name but the fried chicken with the cheese powder sprinkled on top was mouth watering.... as was the loaded fries... AND the cheese corn... just order the entire menu and thank me later.
I'm in love with the sweet chilli Korean fried chicken here. Have came back for it many times. Army hotpot (budae jjigae) was great, but only a half serve of ramen given. A full serve would be perfect for two people! Tokbokki was very nice. Love that too ❤
Yummy this is me and my partner’s new favourite place
Chicken here is so nice well fried &balanced!
And staffs are really friendly
Attentive service 👍
I am a Korean and I think this is the best Korean fried chicken in Melbourne so far... Seriously, this place serves a fresh fried chicken and sauces are amazing too. I am gonna take all my friends for KFC to here..😋 Why aren't they delivering by Uber Eat??
Some of the best Korean fried chicken I've tried in Melbourne CBD - a great place to try if you are wanting to test a different fried chicken restaurant!
Lots of space for large groups of people, fast service and lots of chicken! We didn't bother trying the rest of the menu, however the loaded fries were also quite good.
I just can't stop eating smoke soy chicken I love it so much. i tried some different stuffs but it was the best. I will go there tonight again. generally friendly staff and toilet also okay.
Hands down to my new favorite Korean chicken place! This place deserves a shoutout as they executed pretty much almost everything on the menu really well. Too bad I always forget to take pictures on my visits here, but next time I definitely will take some!
Pandas🐼🐼🐼:
holy moly SMOKEY SOY FRIED CHICKEN (perfect, just perfect)
Japchae -Korean glass noodle
Tteokbokki
Really good and polite service, the owner is really nice
They open until quite late
Soju is cheap compared to other places
Pandont❌❌❌:
Nothing atm!
But since there will always be room for improvement, I do look forward and expect much from them on my next visit.
Good place to go after midnight, good taste and experience! I will recommend my friends and come frequently as my top list of Korean food!!!
I tried almost all the flavor and boneless chicken. For me the best is the bbq and sweet chili flavor. The original one well its just taste like plain fried chicken. Since this place is so near I always take away a chicken here every night the staff is very friendly.
Food was overall pretty delicious although the servings were pretty small in comparison to other Korean restaurants. We ordered a large plate of half original, half sweet and spicy fried chicken, seafood pancake and Kim chi fried rice.
Loved the pancake, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The fried chicken was cooked to perfection and wasn’t dry. I found the sweet and spicy fried chicken was mainly just batter which was pretty disappointing.
I went here randomly, without expecting anything and purely to satisfy mid night cravings. As a Korean myself, I have to say the music selection there was⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ even my partner who doesnt understand korean, loved the tune of all the playlist :) staffs were super nice and it was still spacious despite many customers. One downside would be, the portion of fried chickens and that it could get hot cus of poor air conditioning. OG chicken might taste spicy to some ppl. Gr8 soy chicken doe🌝
Theres pretty good corner area for groups. Id probs come here for catchups in future🌚
This new Korean fried chicken restaurant recently opened right across a well-established Korean fried chicken joint. Their fried chicken selection is not as many but boy it's juicy, crispy and flavourful! The smoky soy is not as smoky as I expected but still great nonetheless. Will definitely come again next time!
I quite liked the chicken at Buza chicken! We only tried the smoked soy flavour and we found it to be really delicious. They have various other flavours on the menu which I am keen to try, but the smoked soy flavour is one that I would recommend!
The staff were quite friendly and welcoming, and they have the buzzer system which is quite efficient. Chicken was served in a timely manner. I'll definitely return to try more of their menu!
Tried the Original and Smoked Soy boneless chicken.
Smoked Soy was really delicious, chicken was juicy, had nice crispy skin and had a faint smokey aroma. I loved that there was a hint of spiciness in the chicken as well, definitely a must have!
The Original on the otherhand was quite disappointing, contrast to the Smoked Soy the chicken was quite dry and tough. The skin was very crispy which was great and the honey mustard sauce that came with it was lacking.
We also ordered the corn cheese which was pretty okay, it wasn't as cheesey as other korean joints but the flavour definitely hit the spot.
Will definitely be back to try more unique flavours such as the snowy chicken.
Korean deep fried chicken ❤️❤️❤️ I don’t understand why they have so low points on this app. Overall all my Korean friends like here.
One of my friend recommended me here first time and once I tried their ‘smoky soy BBQ’ flavour chicken, I fell in love. (Their free red raddish is good too)Thesedays I keep ask to my other friends to go and eat that haha they also have Korean Tteokboki which we can cook on the hot pot things . I haven’t tried that menu yet. But I haven’t seen that menu in Melbourne (it’s common in Korea)
anyway overall good. Staff service is nice too
Popped in and took away a half and half bone fried chicken. Tasted much better than my imagination! Definitely a good company for beer or suju.
First time taste a smoked soy sauce flavor. Highly recommend!
Newly opened restaurant, wanted to try out so i did today. Overall, best fried chicken I had in melbourne. The skin was crispy and not greasy, chicken was tender and juicy, their sauces and toppings were beyond my expectation.
Try
1. Onion chicken
They had this menu, which is fried chicken with onion and white sauce, the white sauce tasted like tartare sauce/ japanese kara age sauce, these three elements balanced so well.
2. Soy chicken smoked flavour
We were recommended to have one in smoked flavour, it had the smoke taste and spicy bite to it as well which we loved, we couldn't have it enough.
3. Kimchi loaded fries
Well, we loved it as we are massive kimchi eaters, it had strong kimchi flavour, they literally loaded the fries with kimchi, then topped with cheese and sour cream.
Overall, it was amazing food they served, good start for a business that specializes Korean fried chicken. Only the downside was that i felt like it was understaffed and didnt get immediate response when we rang the bell to order food/etc. We are coming back.
Had Braised spicy beef ribs in hotpot, Boneless Chicken with lemon sauce, and Korean pancake with spring onion and squid pieces. Generally food is quite good and the atmosphere of the restaurant felt good as well where you can chill and have some Korean drinks with your mates.
I can't comment on costumer service much since the only time I engaged with their staff was when I ordered my food and when I was paying. I felt it was not bad but could be better.
I ordered the kimchi loaded fries comes with chili sauce and white sauce and mozzarella cheese ~ go with kimchi and chips very well ^^
That was something different and I loved it .
Had sweet popcorn chicken with sweet chilly sauce, tasted so well and ABC chicken which is just on the other side of street definitely had pressure.
Fantastic Korean fried chicken shop.
Spicy, hot boneless chicken is a perfect level of spice.
We ordered a whole chicken portion, which is perfect for 2 people.
The seaweed roles were delicious.
I highly recommend here as a great Korean fried chicken shop, or KFC.
Service was okay, but they were pretty busy. Price was reasonable.
Some might say shop looks a bit rough, but I'm prepared to tolerate it considering the quality of food.
We will be back.

An overall amazing experience, with fairly quick service. We had Fried chicken with the smoked soy and sweet and spicy sauce, Corn cheese, Kimchi fried rice and Pork soup. The fried rice was a bit underwhelming but everything else was really delicious!
Perfect Fried chicken! All flavor are worth a try. However the rest on the menu are at just at average level. (pancake not good)I would definitely come for just Fried chicken and some beer.
Had a dinner with few mates here, seated around the back corner, which is perfect spot to bounce some banters with minimal foot traffic interruption.
Had the snowy fried chicken soy garlic fried chicken, seafood pancake and army stew. Personally i think their soy garlic fried chicken is FTW, probably one of the bests in Melbourne
Finally go to try Buza after hearing all about it and it did not disappoint! They’ve definitely got some of Melbourne’s best Korean fried chicken!
We got their whole fried chicken (with bone) with half original and half smoked soy flavour. The fried chicken here is so delicious - the coating is super crispy and not too thick, the chicken is juicy and tender, and the smoked soy sauce is to die for!
We also tried the hot pot tteokbokki which came in a huge portion. It’s cooked at the table and stays bubbling hot, so it’s perfect for a cold day. Beware of the spice though - if you can’t take spicy then I suggest you go the lowest option as they definitely take their spice level very seriously!
First time went here and the food 🍗 was amazing. So far it's the best korean🇰🇷fried chicken for me. Chicken tastes fresh, crunchy and so yummy! Highly recommended for those who like boneless fried chicken. Literally reminds me of the one I had while in korea. Great job! 🚩🚩🚩
