If you haven't been to Cold Rock before, I don't know what you're doing. They can make literally anything you can think of. They mainly base if Ice-cream cakes, but the twist is that any food you think of can be added to the cake. For example gummy bears, smarties, anything. They chop it up and add it to the cake so you get bits of it everywhere.
Polite and friendly owner. Loved the choice of flavours. Open until late in the night. Flexibility to mix various flavours is awesome. They keep changing the flavour very frequently. The ice cream are up to right taste and smooth
I ordered an ice cream cake for a birthday and I was pretty impressed with the concept in terms of being able to layer your different ice cream choices and various mix ins. I opted for cookies and cream and mint with bounty, brownie, mini marshmallows and cherry ripe. Unfortunately the restaurant we went to for dinner claimed to not have a freezer which I think is a bit suss, they clearly meant we don’t have one for your random cake and incidentally being in the fridge just didn’t cut it as by the time we got to dessert said cake was more of a puddle. No fault on the part of Cold Rock but perhaps if you are thinking of ordering a frozen cake call the restaurant and confirm they can accomodate prior to making your reservation
To be honest, it's average. But it's growing on me. At first, I hate the idea, and I thought the Ice-Cream was average, but it's growing on me. It could do better. The staff are sometimes rude and a little dodgy, but it's good for the location.
Best service ever. During the week I made a visit to Cold Rock Ivanhoe to enquire about ordering an ice cream cake. The store manager Katelyn served me and had brilliant customer service skills. Ordering a cake with 3 small children hanging off my legs would normally be nearly impossible however, she distracted the kids with taste tests for their cake and even handed them some colouring in sheets. We picked up our cake on the following Saturday and it was AMAZING! The decorations, ice cream flavours and the fact we had some left overs were incredible. I highly recommend Cold Rock ice cream cakes and would like to thank Katelyn again!
Very Happy Customer :)
Surprisingly good for a chain. Where I used to live in Canada, there was a chain of ice cream shops called "Cold Stone Creamery." They were tied in corporate-wise with Tim Horton's, which is Canada's national doughnut-and-coffee chain, and also an iconic part of Canuck national identity. I never went to Cold Rocks in Canada because there were plenty of independent gelato shops, and I'd rather try them. Since I'm not a native Aussie, though, I thought I'd give this Down Under chain a go, at least once. I'm glad I did!
The ice cream here is not quite as good as gelato. The flavours are less pronounced and it's not as thick and rich as gelato (but not as airy as mass-market stuff like Peter's, either.) I was pleased to see that this Cold Rock had about three dozen flavours on offer -- not bad! I've never had Jaffa (orangesicle with milk chocolate swirled in) or doughnut ice cream. The latter had real doughnut chunks in it. If they sold that in Canada with Tim Horton's doughnuts, it would get a mention in the national anthem. I'll have to go to another Cold Rock to see if they do an ice cream with Lamington or Pavlova chunks.
32 ice-cream flavours and over 40 mix-ins make this "Choose it, Mix it, Smash it, Love it" Cold Rock franchise a great place for ice-cream lovers. Friendly service as well.
If you have never been to a Cold Rock Icecreamery just give it a try, its fun choosing your flavours and add ins and watching it all get smashed in together to create your own unique creation! 🍧🍨🍡
Cold rock. Lets make this a simply review. Let your imagination run wild when you're picking your mixes. Gummy bears and vanilla ice cream go pretty well with chocolate bits
Lovely staff. Not exorbitant prices. The basic ice-cream flavours (vanilla) are dull though. Best go loud
