My friends and I had dinner reservations downstairs at Cheek, we had to wait for the table to be available. We were invited upstairs at Peaches to have a drink until the table was ready. I am really glad they did as the bar on the rooftop is really cool.
The vibe is great, we ordered a drink off the specials board, all proceeds going to the bushfire appeal. The cocktail was gin based and so refreshing!
A great bar that I would gladly return to.
4.0 Very Good
When I was dining at Cheek I saw quite a few people walk up for drinks at Peaches, a bit of research and I was sold, hot chicken sandwiches and an open rooftop with drinks! With a team that handles meat right it was a no brainer. We went during lunch and it was relatively quiet as most uni students were on break, they’ve got indoor dining (themed beautifully in peach) and the rooftop space to soak in the sun (or moonlight).
It was a particularly hot day and I opted for a cheeky (no pun intended) beverage, they had their Bushfire Relief cocktail which consisted of Applewood gin and limoncello (donated), Capi soda (donated) together with grapefruit and thyme. Very refreshing, slightly tart and didn’t cost an arm and a leg like most cocktails do. All proceeds went to Port Macquarie Koala Hospital.
They had various meat between buns but I couldn’t pass up their fried chicken burger, especially when they emphasise “world famous”. It’s simple but perfectly executed, very juicy chicken thigh piece and the skin on it has a slight crispness to it. Some nice pickles, yuzu kosho mayo and a soft buttery bun, I’m salivating just typing this. Also paired the burger with some nice french fries similar to Mcdonald’s ones (I love them equally).
Very chill spot especially when it’s less crowded, I can imagine a much younger crowd during uni season and evenings. They also have nights where they discount the food and it’d cost you next to nothing along with very affordable booze.
As we had to wait for a group to finish up at Cheek before we could get our table, we were directed to Peaches for a drink. Comprising of two levels - the first one with a gorgeous pastel pink retro vibe, and the second a buzzing rooftop bar, Peaches is sure to suit everyone.
Lovely and prompt service from the bartender, and they currently have a special cocktail called This is a Koala Rescue whereby 100% of the proceeds from the sale of said cocktail goes to the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital. It's a beautiful gin-based cocktail that's light on the palate and very pleasant to drink, with hints of grapefruit and thyme.
As with most bars, there are a variety of bar snacks and small bites for those who are peckish. Would definitely be returning here.
Right above Cheek, Peaches is a fantastic destination for rooftop drinks and cocktails. All prices were reasonable with each cocktail around 14-15 price point. Gin and tonic only $11 per glass. If the weather is nice, this is definitely a go-to place for some fresh summer night air!
What's not to love about this place 'Peaches' I found this place and I knew I needed to go. A girls night out was perfect. The place is pretty and pink. Great service and great cocktails and food. Happy hour deals were great. Can't wait to go back.
Good music and some amazing cocktails makes this place a must visit.
Unfriendly Bartenders and Volumes of salt on your fries is a strict no
Decently priced and good vibes for nice time.
Another cool bar in the CBD that gets very busy with the younger crowd, particularly with it's rooftop. However, it's a good place to chill mid afternoon into early evening when it's a little less crowded. I love the funky decor with it's greenery and pastel tones, and with it's comfortable seating there is plenty of space for couples or larger groups.
A well stocked bar means some great cocktails are available, and they also have some fab wine and beer choices. There is a small food menu of bar snacks, but on this occasion we just popped in for a few drinks before dinner. Service was great, and the staff were friendly and very sociable. There was a good buzz in the air, and I can see why this place gets busy after dark. But with the warmer weather just around the corner, this is a great venue for afternoon drinks too.
Great atmosphere, the chicken burger is the best chicken burger I've ever had !!!!! I highly recommend this place to everyone.
Cocktails were decent, not worth the price compared to other bars.
Really cool bar, love the interior and all the pastel colours! They have one of my favourite wines on the wine list so another positive! The Margherita was yum as well!!
Came up with friends after dinner at CHEEK. The pink lounge area was quite busy and the rooftop even busier. We queued on the stairs for quite a while to access the rooftop. The security guy was friendly and chatty though which was nice. However, there weren’t actually enough seats for us when we went up so we temporarily stood around a bar table until another group left.
The fried chicken burgers were a little oily but still very tasty. The cocktails were quite average.
There’s a decent view from the rooftop. The sky was very clear the night we went and we could actually see lots of stars when we looked up.
Once you catch your breath after climbing the 2 very steep flights of stairs you are truely rewarded with a very chic and green atmosphere to this rooftop bar in the heart of the cbd. The different takes on the classic spritz are surprisingly delish.
Gets very busy on a Friday night! May have to queue to get up to the roof area. It is a very nice roof top bar area, with plenty of greenery.
Drinks menu includes excellent blended cocktails.
MELBOURNE | Peaches is a two story bar above meat focused restaurant Cheek. Directly above the restaurant is the main bar, a pink and orange pastel 1980s vibing room with a disco ball, terrazo topped tables, and plush couches.
Really love Peaches - has great music, friendly staff and delicious cocktails. For food, it’s a simple bar menu including chicken sandwiches. Choose between the pastel pink floor or libations on the rooftop.
Taking over the old Sahara bar, the renovation makes the rooftop feel more spacious and bright, especially with the use of pastel colours.
A good range of seating configurations is available.
Basic wines and beers start from $10, and there aren't any happy hour specials.
Despite this it's pretty busy, so get in quick or you'll have to line up in the stairwell.
I enjoyed having a couple beers on a rooftop in a central location.
#peachesMelbourne was SO GOOD! We went for drinks and fell in love with the bar menu too! The chicken sandwiches with yuzu mayo are ridiculously delicious! Cocktails and food were at great prices too. It’s stunning to look at with a sweet rooftop, music and busy with good vibes. Can’t wait to go back again!
Awesome ambience and the cocktails are absolutely delicious!!!
I had the blackberry cocktail and pear cocktail.
If you like fruit based cocktails there are plenty of options here! The music isnt too loud as well so you can actually carry out a conversation here.
Peaches has amazing decor and a delicious fried chicken Sandwich served until 3am! It also has a cool rooftop with misting fans over looking the state library. Great place
Service was spectacular and the food is a meat eater’s heaven. All the flavours are strong and pair nicely with their drinks.
There’s also a fairy bread dessert that’s not actually fairy bread but rather ice cream with fried parsnips - sounds weird but was easily a stand out dessert (excuse the candle in the photo!)
Brilliant! We ordered pretty much everything on the menu bar 3 dishes when we went, and almost all of it tasted amazing.
The place is up a set of stairs on Swanston St so im not too sure about any disabled access. We also visited for lunch on Friday and it wasn't too busy.
In terms of taste there wasn't too much to fault. Out of the mains the BBQ pepper chicken was my least favorite. But the Lamb Ribs and Pork Loin were great! If you haven't had one, the Hot meat donut is a unique dish to see if you like it or not, so i recommend trying one while here.
The staff where good, friendly and really attentive in replacing table waters so no complaints here.
The only thing is all this goodness of course comes at a cost, so be prepared to spend $30-$40 per person easily without factoring in drinks.
Overall Cheek is a great option for dinner or a splurge lunch in the CBD with really tasty meat dishes.
Hot Meat Donut is a must! I was surprised by how tasty it is. The Cauliflower is pretty nice too - crunchy outside and soft inside, but I think it is a little too saucy.
The Wagyu Rump is so delicious! The fat:meat ratio was perfect and the garlic made everything better. We also tried the Wagyu Brisket but I wasn't as impressed, mainly because the meat feels a little stringy.
For drinks, I got the Starload and I like it :)
I was very impressed with the food at CHEEK. Their menu size wasn't huge but everything they served up was delicious. The duck liver profiteroles was divine, had to get a second serve. Beef tartare serving was small, but very tasty. Couldn't fault at all. Decent selection on drinks too. Definitely worth a try
Wow, wow, wow! That is probably the best meal I’ve had on this entire trip and amazing value as well! On the $60 feed us menu and we were given the doughnuts, the sweet and sour cauliflower (which is one of the most delicious things I’ve ever had!) beef tartare, smoked lamb ribs, New York Strip, bone marrow mash & charred broccolini, couldn’t even finish it all and now can’t move!!!
You have to try this place if you’re in or visiting Melbourne, it’s a little hard to find but get in quickly before people are queuing round the block!
Food was amazing, waiter gave great recommendations. I'd eat there every day if I could. My favourites included the cauliflower and broccolini. And the gin selection was the cherry on top.
Good steaks, nice range of beers. We had to wait a fair amount of time for our food to be served, but the staff gave us some freebies to keep us occupied.
Relaxed environment, good for a catch up or a date. Can get a little bit loud and crowded.
Shares a building with Peaches bar, which is a good bar if you want to kick on after dinner.
Located in the heart of the CBD, this place is one of my go to place for perfect meat cravings.
Everything on the menu is so delicious including their cauliflower dish and mash&gravy! Yummmm!
