Review The Dumpling Table - Melbourne

Rocio WC
I have been coming to this place for 10 years and have never once had a bad experience. The food is incredible (eat in or take away), big portions for crazy cheap prices. The staff is always super nice and the food always comes out quickly. Every time I’m overseas I dream about their dumplings. Honestly my favourite place in Melbourne.
Alison Martin
Our favourite place for an easy take away! Must try the fried beef dumplings. Convenient and quick service, we love this restaurant.

Nicely presented with comfortable seating - plenty of tables and friendly service. Great location just across from the South Yarra train station and around the corner from Chapel Street. Prices are very reasonable with good quality fast food service. Without hesitation the nice waitress provided water to my table as soon as I arrived. Menu provides easy ordering with plenty of choices available including stir fried, chilli, signature dishes and of course heaps of delicious dumplings. No fus good value food, eat in or takeaway. There is EFPOS available and the prices are very reasonable.
Lester Mark
Cheap, fast dumpling and noodle joint in South Yarra. Dumplings were good and noodles were tasty. Service efficient without being too friendly.

Placed an order at 8.40pm. Order instantly accepted by store and estimated delivery at 9.20pm. At approx 9.30pm our order cancelled by the store. Upon calling the store i was only told they are now closed. Thanks for your commitment and being a massive waste of time! Below is what we enjoyed for dinner... such a memorable experience!

The meals are big, the price is reasonable and the food was delivered within 5 minutes. The table service was prompt and friendly, with my food handed to me with a smile. I can't fault these guys for anything.

Affordable price and nice food, the lady staff is very friendly and welcoming. Especially they have my favourite dish, Scrambled Eggs with Tomato; if you dont have that, you are a fake Chinese restaurant.

This was possibly the worst "dumpling" place I've ever been to. Food took forever to come out on a cold and quiet Sunday... we were served cold steamed supermarket style dim sims that we were too scared to touch. The chicken and prawn dumplings were flavourless and doughie. At this point we left... just gross...

A friend and I stumbled here last night as it ticked off the two prerequisites we had: dumplings & BYO. Plus is was right by our apartments. We ordered the pork steamed dumpling, the chicken and prawn dumplings in soup and steamed beef dumplings too. Everything was good but the pork dumplings were awesome!! For only $9 you get 15!! Super cheap and delicious.
Estelle Zhao
Very BAD experience! I ordered a chicken and shrimp dumpling with half the meat raw! Can you believe it? Service attitude is also very bad! NO apologies! I got diarrhea when I got home! I have no appetite for anything now! Hope to have help to everybody! Don't eat anything in this shop again!
Kimberley
The xiao long bao is all I order as they are delicious juicy clouds of steaming heaven puff clouds, I am addicted. Service is also good with friendly and attentive staff
Ray
Pretty average Chinese food. Ordered the Xian’s long Bao (soup dumplings) these were bland and dry. The one that had some soup were tasteless. Also ordered the shanghai noodles, these were ok but again lacked flavour and there was barely any meat. Wouldn’t return

Just went here for lunch after a workout session at F45 in South Yarra.

🍜 Ordered the Shanghai noodles with pork mince, which was more spicy than we anticipated. But had great flavour.

🥟 We had the pan fried pork dumplings which were really well cooked - recommend these.

The Shanghai dumplings were also really well done, the skin wasn't thick or dry. The soup inside was really tasty! Would definitely order that again.

The wontons in Szechuan chili we're not bad, but I think we would prefer the sweeter chili oil dumplings in general over the Szechuan kind.

🥒 The French beans with mince meat was really really good vegetable main. We polished that off easily

Good local dumpling spot. Would recommend 👍👍

I have been looking for ‘Schezwan Sauce’ for the last 10 years amongst Melbourne Chinese Restaurants. Obviously I learnt that Sichuan is the right word. However, The Dumpling Table does exactly Schezwan not Sichuan sauce. It’s freshly made in-house and tastes delicious. For chilly lovers, this is a treat.

Food: food here is really great, we love the dumplings as it’s an easy (and cheap) meal to get. All the flavours are delicious. Tried a few other menu items spicy salt squid which is a fav, curry chook was very average and my husband threw out, outstanding honey prawns... overal food solid 8/10

Service: needs improvement. Lacking friendliness.

Ambiance: tuckshop vibe.... mostly we get takeaway so we can enjoy in the comfort of our home.

QB👸🏼👸🏼
I have only tried about three things from their menu because the things I have tried are so good!
Their vegetarian dumplings the best I have ever tried. A lot of my meat eating friends will often choose them over the meat ones because they’re so good!
Lily Tang
The food was just okay.. I didn’t rlly enjoy it that much I left with a lot left even though I didn’t eat anything before hand. The dumplings were plain and very oily. The noodles in the Szechuan sauce was pretty bad as well. I wouldn’t come here again..

Hadn’t been here for maybe a year following the arrival of Tao up the road. In that time, Tao’s dumplings and service have gone downhill and this place has been struggling due to its simpler decor and ambience. Tonight I came back and found the service warm and generous and the dumplings and hot & sour soup excellent. I’ll be back and hope this little place survives, if only to offer an alternative local option for dumps.

Food are good and cheap, and we loved the fried dumplings. stuff are very friendly. Overall it's a good dumpling place to go in South Yarra.
Good Food Good Mood
Humble little dumpling spot but delicious parcels of joy. 10 chicken and prawn delights for just under $10 is quite amazing value. Staff average, atmosphere average but food pretty good given what you pay
Mark Laughton
We came here for a quick bite on a lazy evening and quite enjoyed it. The beef dumplings were good and the sweet and sour chicken was tasty. The special fried rice however didn't taste fresh and was disappointing. It is well priced though and super quick

I love food and I wish I could score this place higher but what can I say? The service was great, the ladies were very attentive. The food was far from that, though. Dumplings were average but the fried chicken ribs were not good at all. They were bland, even after adding salt, pepper, chill I and other condiments I found on the table, I just couldn't taste anything.
Nick
Best dumplings in the area. Staff are ordinary as is decor but that is part of the charm. Signature pork dumplings are great as is chilli oil. Chicken and corn soup a winner. Two can eat fir less than $30 and the quality is great. Just dont ask the staff to do anything but take your order and bring the food. Its help yourself otherwise.

LIT!: I quite enjoyed the XLB here. It was juicy and didn't break easily. All our dishes were very affordable however..

NOT SO LIT: pretty average quality. Very oily noodle dish and rice was plain with insufficient beef brisket sauce to cover it.
However, again, very affordable place so why not?

Thanks for having us!

Compared with the previous service, the services provided now has been greatly improved. And the food is delicious. I ordered the fried pork dumplings and the cold cucumber in sauce, and my friend ordered the Shanghai friend noodle, the taste is really good than before. Maybe they changed a new chief. Hahahah.
Affordable & delicious! Great little location if you're not wanting to trek all the way into Chinatown. We have been coming here for 5 years now - have tried cheating on our trusty dumpling spot with regret in the end.
:)
Miki Glat
The shanghai noodles are so tasty! Can't comment on the dumplings as I don't eat them but I'll be back for more noodles. The staff are ok and the premises is more
on the "messy" side.
Mo
Dumplings place near the train station in south Yarra, convenient location for public transport not so sure about parking. Standard dumpling venue with average service, but it's a fairly cheap place and has BYO.
Jeffry
The customer service was very attentive and friendly.

We ordered signature fried pork dumpling (15 pcs) - $10.80. The dish wasn't well plated, I would assume that the chef just drop all dumplings to the plate and directly served to customer.

The dumplings were very oily and little bit burnt, but the taste was pretty good. The meat wasn't very generous, dumpling was little bit puffy with small meat inside.

Madamrouge86
The dumplings inside wasn't cooked, terrible services, point out the food was raw inside need sent back cook bit more and been told by the young Chinese waitress who wearing glasses : "that's impossible"...not sure this is right attitude in the food business with such services...I have lived in China Beijing, Shanghai city for few years, also very disappointed with other food flavours...its not authentic Chinese food, made badly to fool the westerner what joke people still going in...There plenty high quality Chinese restaurant in Southyarra really no need to going to this one!Be warned!
Amazing food! Very casual nice place. Staff are always friendly and the service is very fast! We love coming here for takeaway but can you please add a delivery option?
Daisy
Probably the dirtiest restaurant I have come across in all my years of dining. I get that cheaper food, comes with a cheaper experience, however this place is average price and nasty food. Both of our dishes were unenjoyable, and we did not order anything out of the normal, obviously no chefs or cleaners here. Zero service, very dirty, poor attitude from the owner, won't be back! 👌 gross!
Jerry Spring
I love it here! I come her eat least once a week. The dumplings are so great considering the price and how much u get. However I have sadly found a small bug in my Chinese broccoli :(( I wasn't really faded but it but it turned my off eating it there again. The staff aren't very friendly But all in all I love the food and recommend it to anyone who loves a good dumpling feast
Melca Yang
AS A CHINESE, this is the last Chinese restaurant I would walk into!!! NEVER RECOMMEND!!!! The waiters have a horrible attitude!!! I asked for one water, none of them actually gave it to me. Until we told the boss. Even, we didn't ask for taking away, they made us not to have dinner there. What a horrible dinner I had.
Snackloverbaby
Dropped in for a quick lunch during the week.
Ordered spring onion pancake, xiao long bao, mapo tofu. Service was the usual brisk dumpling house style.
Not much atmosphere but obviously they do a lot of lunch business - tonnes of takeaway orders went out while we were sitting there.
Food was pretty good and fairly big portions for the price.

I've been buying from this place for over a year and I am appalled at how I've been treated at my recent visit. I ordered the pork dumplings over the phone. When I come to pick up I say that I am waiting for my pork dumplings. The lady says yes and I wait for my order. She hands me the prawn dumplings and I tell her I didn't order that. She tells me that I said prawn over the phone, which is fine because I was on the train maybe she misheard me. But when I came to pick up I said I was waiting for pork dumplings and still the staff did not catch the discrepancy. Fine, mistakes happen. However what is not ok is what happened when I received the prawn dumplings. I asked if they could please make me the pork dumplings and I would wait or they could give me a refund. The staff refused to give me a refund or replace my order. What upsets me is that they gave more value to that one dish than the business I have provided for over a year. Safe to say I will never be returning.
RaeTheFoodLover
Found hair in my food. Found bugs in the veggies, probably due to lack of washing them. Below average food and customer service. Will not be returning.
John Darnielle
The food is poor. We just had fried rice and dumplings and they are very much below average for Melbourne. The service is also poor, especially the manageress who is very rude. I cannot recommend anything about it.
Bania
Very bad service with very rude staff who do not know the first thing about customer service. I would rate it zero but this app makes you give a minimum of 1.0.
Suburb Review
Below average chinese food.. came here for lunch and suprisingly was the only table dining here. Cheap prices & a central location is the only good thing i can say.. oh & got a stomach ache not long after, which rarely happens to me. Not satisfied one bit so i got KFC after.
Ignatia
Every time I crave for some chinese food, I go here and prefer this over pacific bbq house. Dumpling Table is cheaper and more worth it, I think. It has more variety of food from noodles, on rice menu, vegetables, as well as dumplings. I recommend Special Chili Beef on steam rice, and signature steam pork dumplings or the chicken & prawn dumplings.
Kate
Cheap and cheerful, tasty dumplings with efficient service. They look like those awful freezer bag ones but actually are pretty good- I had the pork dumplings in chilli oil soup which were lovely, with my favourite Chinese broccoli in garlic. I'd return.
Yvette.b
The Dumpling Table is a regular go-to for a quick, cheap dinner. The dumplings are consistently good, with flavoursome fillings - the fried dumplings are rarely overdone. My recommended dish would have to be the Vegetarian Fried Rice, with egg - so many people get vegetarian fried rice wrong, but these guys nail it consistently!
Brendan Cousins
Best dumpling place in South Yarra. I love going there. Service can either go both ways but the dumplings are always amazing. Steamed beef is my tip!!
Biggiechee
Pleasant dining experience. Tasty food with no frills. We ordered the pork dumplings in noodle soup, pork dumplings in chilli oil and chinese broccoli with garlic sauce. Dumplings were flavoursome and the soup was hot - perfect for a cold night. Dont think they add msg in their food - places that do make me feel sick afterwards. But this place was good.
Corey
I get takeaways from here all the time. The Pork fried dumplings and the Thai fried rice(extra spicy) are my favourite. Great value for money, especially in South Yarra.
The Poo
Just like most small Asian restaurants around town, relatively cheap and simple. The dumplings we ordered were ok, the service was ok, so on so forth.
We did arrive ten minutes before close time and the lady said we could stay if we ordered straight away. I think she needed to go to the toilet
Eric
Don't bother to order the "Steam Shanghai Pork Mini Buns". They are machine made, frozen and identical to those one you can buy from the freezer at Asian Grocery, and they are selling it at $10.8 for 8 piece... Come on....
Sonia Ghazale
I'd give it a zero if I could.
I ordered the black bean with beef. It wasn't amazing but I still ate it cause I was hungry (well I picked out the beef pieces cause the veggies were over cooked and swimming in sauce).

So the bad rating is for the following....
I get to the restaurant to get take out, about to place my order when I see the minimum $30 eftpos sign. Who carries cash these days, I'm ordering for one so my order is around $18. I tell the lady taking my order I don't have cash, and she just looks at me and shrugs and says minimum $30.
So I leave and one or two doors down there's a convenience store with an ATM. Wouldn't you tell your customers that so you could at least get the sale. I don't mind paying the ATM $2.80 charge, I'd rather that than having to pay an extra $12 and order something else off the menu (which I don't want) to make up the minimum $30 eftpos requirement. Even coffee shops these days don't charge a minimum for card and a coffee is just under $4.
On my way home, the plastic container is in a plastic bag, so I place the entire package in my handbag (I do this all the time, it sits upright so no risk of leakage), I get home and take out the package to find the lid was not closed properly and all the sauce has poured out into the plastic bag, miraculously not a drop in my hand bag. However, the meal was still swimming in sauce despite half of it tipping out. Disgusting, hence why I picked out the beef and only ate that.

Attached image is after half the sauce spilled out.

Been here a couple of times for their comfort home made Chinese food. Liked their special fried rice , soups, dumplings and dishes. Value for money.
Jordan
Cheap and fast service. Not the best dumplings joint in Melbourne but being so close to South Yarra station it's a winner in terms of convenience. Dumplings are the best things on the menu.
Cameron Bisset
your small typical dumpling house, prices were quite good, food was better than average, byo
$2.50pp a great addition.
wont be back in a hurry but also wont be avoiding.
Corena
This is our usual go-to when we want takeaways. The place has a very casual feel, so nothing fancy.

The dumplings and lemon chicken we had were delicious and were quite good value for money.

Definitely give it a go if you want a cheap feed.
Monica
Do not ever go here. Cannot believe the absolute disgusting treatment from the staff here.
We had booked in a table for my friends (it WAS my birthday today) we had looked forward to this for over a month ago,
And yet a bare few hours before my friends birthday they call to say they are wanting to close early so we can no longer have our reservation u less you want to come ridiculously early.
No apologies whatsoever. Terrible. Do not make reservations here!
JJfood
Just what you'd expect from a high turnover no frills dumpling restaurant. The dumplings are the run of the mill sort sold in all these places and the other dishes arent too bad either. The ambience and decor leaves a lot to be desired but that doesnt matter because its quick and very cheap. So long as you just want some very well priced dumplings with no fuss you can't go wrong. The dumplings are delicious and they have all the vinegar and fried shallot chilli sauce you could want. We come back again and again because it is such an easy and pleasant exchange.
Genevieve Graham
Okay, so the service is terrible... but for the price I don't mind!!! The food is cheap and cheerful. It's a weeknight favourite! Of course you also need to try the dumplings which are made fresh when you order.
Jen
Great value for money ($35 for 2 including a wine and beer) friendly fast service. Beef dumplings are great, we pop in after work every few weeks.
OmNom
Food was ok, if you don't mind eating with dirty fork (saw staff dropped a takeaway fork on he floor, she picked it up and put it straight into the bag!)
Papa Chino
Cheap and cheerful - quick and friendly service - tasty food. Not particularly busy but there was a steady flow of regulars who were obviously well known and very happy.
Heidi Pin
This place is seriously disgusting. The staff are rude, the food is not even food and the hygiene is despicable. I am surprised this place is still even open. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Yeah it's cheap but so it should be as they can't be paying much for what it is they call food.
Sonny
The most tasteless dumpling I've had in Melbourne! No excuse!!
Downpat Rawthentic
Just got served frozen packet dim sims. I took them back to either swap or refund and was rudely denied any compensation or apology. Special fried rice was about as bland as it gets also. Wouldn't return or recommend.
Jazz
The dumplings were tasty and kicked the spot for our cravings, and the quantity for the $$ amount is always a nice feeling. If I were to be picky, my Asian genes could say the dumpling skins were a bit on the thick side, and the fried dumplings weren’t the best I’ve had, but all in all, for a place that was open for us when we needed it, I’d say it was a definite win.
Viv DLR
I arrived at a random time (very early for dinner- 5:15pm on a Thursday). The two ladies sitting at the table (staff) made no effort to welcome me. I found myself a spot but then the poor initial welcome was made up by the friendly waitress who took my order. I ordered the steamed shanghai pork bun. It was made fresh and delicious. They did stick to each other a bit which meant I lost a lot of the soup in trying to eat it (the best bit). But overall it was a nice dining experience and good value!
Sean Lethlean
Don't waste your time. Turned up here on a Friday night around 8:45 and got told to leave as they were closing. Head to the place next door. Much better Chinese and better service.
Dnesbitt84
Don't buy take away. If you buy take away they look after diners in the restaurant first - expect to be waiting a very long time for your take away order!
Anguli Mala
Best in this neighbourhood. This low-priced but extremely tasty dumplings place is so good that it comes very close to be the best dumplings I found in Melbourne (apart from the Shanghai Street Dumplings on the corner of LaTrobe and Russell St, Melbourne). Their Signature Pork fried and steamed dumplings are damn tasty and light on your pocket (15 pieces for $9.80). Fast service plus lots of chilli oil on the table makes this place a regular lunch contender.
Facebook User
Slow service. Ordered the 15 pork dumplings at 7.30pm on a Wednesday night. I was told it would be a 10 min wait. Had to wait 34 minutes. For a plate of basic fried dumplings.... this is ridiculous. The restaurant was 80% full. In their defense, the staff were working as fast as they could to service everyone and they were working really hard. The dumplings tasted better than most others in the same price bracket, but the poor service means I definitely won't be back again.
Melbeats
DONT GO HERE. Ordered take away for a total of $29 and wouldnt accept card as they have a $30 min. Absolutley no way they would accept it. When I came back from the atm they were extremley rude again and didnt realise I speak chinese and used the most vile and offensie language about myself and my partner. I told them to keep their food. Disgusting behaviour
Steve19800
What food do they give you, is this leftover food?. I went there this afternoon to have a quick snack. I asked if they made their own dumpling and the guy at the counter answered, yes. I ordered prawn dumpling, then he talked with kitchen staff and told me they didn't have it. I would like to try their 'home made' shiu mai, then I chose shiu mai because they said they made them in the restaurant so I ordered one shiu mai (4 pcs) as you can see on their menu book. Waited around 10-15 minutes then the guy handed me the ordered and paid food. Arrived home and I opened the take away box and this is exactly what you see as soon as you open the take away plastic box, except the bottom two: the bottom left was partly eaten and I opened the bottom right to see the content of the 'shiu mai'.

I repeat I ordered shiu mai, not rice, not mince vermicelli (as you can see in the picture), whatsoever. If you order take away food make sure you check before you leave, you can trust some restaurants but not all.

If this food gives me health problem I will report it to the Authority.

Pic uploaded to this website does not appear.
Visit: http://s30.postimg.org/71540nixt/967847_10152872422497147_1221895499_n.jpg

Addicted. This place is the best - great dumplings, friendly service, excellent prices. I've limited myself to only twice a week because, and it's a struggle. Fried beef dumplings are my favourite.
Eugene Skewes
This place is a rip off, tiny meals and nearly no meat in the Singapore noodles at all. Don't waste your money.
John_yh_mok
Cheap and cheerful. Some of the comments here are scathing of its service but let us not forget, The Dumpling Table is a true 'cheap eat'. As such, to expect great service is to set yourself up for great disappointment.

So let's focus on what a cheap eat is about, the food! I shall keep it simple by suggesting the dumplings are a must try. Freshly made behind a glass screen, they are a tasty delight. Mix with chilli oil for a mouth watering experience. The Shanghai noodles ain't bad either. Stay away from their non-core food items, I.e. anything with curry in the description.

Eat well!
Nicholas Birrell
Bought $50 worth of food. Wanted $1 worth of sauce. Wouldn't throw it in. Made me pay cash as they have $30 minimum eftpos

BEST DUMPLINGS IN MELBOURNE!!!. Very nice hand made fresh dumplings, GREAT and FRIENDLY service!! moreover the chef is a real character! he's hilarious keep screaming and singing at all the time! and everything is so cheap and the portions are massive!! is like eat good food and been at the theatre at the same time! ;) ;) ;)
Bindiya
Extemely slow service ! They prioritize take away orders over table service in the restaurant. We waited 45
Mins for 3 plates of dumplings. Yana, the waitress is extremely rude

Favourite cheap local. There's not much to not love about this place. Sure the service could be better, but it's efficient and you get what you want within minutes. The dumplings are super cheap (almost as cheap as my favourite, Shanghai Village Dumpling in the city) and incredibly tasty. They serve the dumplings with chili oil here, which makes them even more perfect. This is the best quick and cheap place in the 'hood, and I'll continue to frequent this place often.
E Davidson
Awesome dumplings! Group of 8 ladies - 4 serves of dumplings and a fried rice to share. The perfect amount! $8 each - cheap and tasty!!
Dave Bouris
One of the best Chinese meals I have ever had :)
Adrian Monteforte
Was cruisin along Toorak road tummy grumbling and stumbled across this little gem. Had a soul warming chicken and prawn dumpling soup and some hot oolong tea. If you are looking for a cheap and cheerful meal, this is the place.
Jen
Great value for your $$. We always get take away dumplings from this place and owner (looks like it anyways) is always generous with sauces. 1 set of dumplings fills you up just fine and doesn't even cost anything ($8.80). We also dined in here once, loving the fact that it's BYO wine. So I could bring my favorite wine, we've order 3 dishes (chinese brocolies w/ oyster sauce, lemon chicken, special fried rice) Came out with very generous portion, all cleaned prawns (no poo strings), very tasty but most of all didnt dent our wallet at all! Two thumbs up!!
Jo K
The food here is great value for money. Dumplings were fresh and the Chinese broccoli with Oyster sauce was the best I've had. The place lacks atmosphere but is perfect for a quick meal. Would definitely recommend.
AimB
I live up the street from this place and ive finally gotten around to writing a review. Such awesome food at such low prices, you cant lose! Would highly recommend their steamed veg dumplings and the vegetarian spring rolls!
Northernman
Cheap, tasty - so good!. Love the dumplings here - shonky service but it doesn't make a skerrick of a difference - cheap, tasty, fresh - love it!
Kbar
We live just down the road and eat here all the time! Best dumplings and so fresh. Bad service but that's what u want when you get dumplings! Cheap and great
Arish
Basic restaurant, nothing fancy but good cheap dumplings. Fairly popular on Sat night when we went.
David
Dumplings were beautiful. .. hot sour soup with noodles .. don't go there.
Thomas Kottek
Sensational dumplings
SezW
Absolutely love this place, it is a great lunch place for myself and my colleagues and we are never disappointed with the food. Sure the service leaves a lot to be desired, but the food more than makes up for it. Love the beans with minced pork, shanghai dumplings and chicken and prawn dumplings. I will keep coming back to this place as they continue to deliver great food!
Hanah Penrose
Cheap and cheerful dumplings! Great value for yummy dumplings. Highlight is the vegetarian fried dumplings. Nothing special in terms of decor or service, but staff are friendly and great value for money.
Dwatson
Pretty good. The windows need a wipe, and some music wouldn't go astray but the dumplings are very good! Cheap as cheaps and quite big serves. Service is.....well, could be better but for the price pretty good.
Tastebuds
Cheap and cheerful takeaway solution in an area lacking in take home food that doesn't hurt the pocket. Great portions for the price and tasty. Fried dumplings do squirt a bit of oil but hey, everything in moderation. Have found the service humble and efficient.
Dorothy Wong
Dan dan mien (diassapointed). Dan dan mien taste really different from i had about 3 months ago, its bland and not as good as before. But dumpling still good though, their portion is big.
FoodieP
I was pleasantly surprised by the tastiness of the pan-fried pork dumplings, however, they were very very oily. The dumplings were served on the plate with a layer of oil covering the plate. It was obvious that no effort had been made to properly drain the oil before the dish was served. The lack of effort or interest in providing a good dining experience was also reflected in the poor service. I was served by two different waitresses throughout the 45minutes I was there, and was glared at by both of them, neither said a polite or pleasant greeting.
I was really disappointed and unfortunately feel unable to recommend this place to others.
Food_times
Dumplings for Sth Yarra. I'd go for dumplings - the chicken and prawn and vegetarian in particular. Other noodle, rice and veggie dishes are okay. Cheap and cheerful particularly for the area!
AC
Best in the area. Great, cheap dumplings. You will leave with a full belly and barely a dint in your wallet
Some Like It Hot
Chicken and prawn dumplings were fine the rest was not! Service could also be better.
S Midd
Stock standard dumpling place, cheap and quick but nothing special.
Olive Food
This was disappointing after the reviews on the dumplings. They are definitely not the best around and this place has no ambience plus our table was dirty. If you want cheap and quick then it's ok...
Missdelish
Delicious dumplings. So many of the dishes on the menu here are standard fare, but these versions are anything but ordinary. The steamed vegetable dumplings ($8.80 for 15) are plump little parcels with big dollops of flavour, even better with seeded chili sauce. Chicken & sweet corn soup ($5) is velvety and served super hot, with chicken pieces, stracciatella-style egg and even baby peas. Service seemed fine in the short time l was there to pick up takeaway.
Mark Kottmann
Have been here many times and still rate this place as having the best dumplings around the area. The green beans with garlic and pork, and the sprung onion pancake are also pretty good but it's really all about the dumplings. Service is hilarious but when you're paying these prices you shouldn't expect to be waited on. Fantastic!
