Great place to come for a coffee. To go too place when at Melbourne uni. there has also been a current update of the premises and looks extremely inviting. Shame about the metro but still a great place for a meeting.
The service here is pretty quick. They seem to operate on high volume quick turnover. Quality of the food has been sacrificed a little to accomadate the quick service. But life's about balance so its one or the other. The beef burgundy pie is pretty good.
I work in the building so this has become my local.
I have been here innumerable times with friends and colleagues. The coffee is always very good, and though the menu is limited and the items fairly basic, the food is quite good. There is plenty of indoor seating both on communal tables and individual tables, as well as kerbside dining. The service is efficient and cheerful. A good place for a quick coffee and a cake
Good place to grab a table outside on a bright sunny day and enjoy lunch with friends. Located at the corner of Barry and Grattan Street in the Allen Gilbert Building, the place offers some really good options for lunch.
I tried Chicken calzone and a small latte. It was tasty and so fulfilling. Latte was the usual.
Staff is friendly and I liked the place because of its location, easily accessible.
I like this place, especially when it is late in the afternoon, the sun shines in and I can read and enjoy my tea. Plenty of sitting and friendly services. Food is quite nice. I love their hot chocolate.

The coffee is always very good at Baretto. Well worth a stop when at unimelb for the day... service is also quite quick mostly, especially to tables. Probably the best long black on campus.
Excellent coffee and even better location away from the busy areas like Lygon st. Food is a let down though, very plastic looking and tasteless. They would benefit greatly if they had a myo sandwich bar as this area needs it.
Not a big fan of coffee but I must admit that the mocha tastes good. Give a try to the Italian hot chocolate, it was pretty delightful. Staffs are friendly and helpful.
I love going to Baretto, as not only is the coffee great, but is more relaxing than the most of the other cafes on campus, especially to get a bit of caffeine and study. The latte's are very good and I especially like the large windows overlooking the stree. The staff seem friendly but often very busy which could be why some see it as rude as some reviews suggest. And the café stays open pretty late which is a bonus.
Excellent coffee is the main drawcard. However, when I'm in the area, I don't mind dropping in for some lunch. They tend to have some lovely, fresh salads that you can pick and mix as well as some delicious, albeit overpriced sandwiches etc. Service has been good the times I have visited. Although there's quite a lot of seats, it gets busy with the uni crowd and nearby workers. Nevertheless, I do like grabbing a seat by the large windows and watching Grattan Street go past.
Super popular coffee spot. Staff are on the ball and the chai lattes are fabulous!
Loved the Italian Hot Chocolate. I went here with my supervisor and I had the Italian hot chocolate drink. For a 4 $ it was so thick I thought of a chocolate bar melted and poured into my cup. I simply loved it. Definitely a keeper :)
Perfect cup of latte. I never miss my 11am appointment for a cup of latte. It is strong, good dose of milk and never a bitter after taste. Just perfect for a boost for the rest of the day. The orange flourless cake is excellent too.
Good coffee and friendly service here at baretto Espresso Bar. In a very convenient spot when you're walking up to the campus. It's quite a bit distracted at the moment with the building works going on for the train station but still a good option if you need your caffeine fix or are killing 5 minutes until your meeting starts at the Alan Gilbert building.

Excellent coffee and decent food, although it is a bit pricey. The staff are nice and helpful. The venue is very pleasant, but it is a bit cramped though. The food is of good quality but its range is limited.
Great coffee, I used to work in the building and enjoyed their salads for lunch. It is a bit pricey though. Their almond croissants are decadent
Baretto Bar is always an enjoyable experience. Nice spaces, pleasant atmosphere, quality snacks. Shame it's hidden away because of Metro works.
