Was a random choice on Uber eats, trying to find Korean that suited everyone. This place surpassed expectations! The bento was incredible - even though simple, the flavours were delicious. The original boneless fried chicken was probably the best I’ve ever had, and the loaded fries - could beat some Americana restaurants. This will be our go to Korean moving forward.

Good service and good food! The lunch menu is good value for money! You get entree and main and miso soup! We ordered beef bulgogi and fried squid and pork stone pot...all tasted very nice! Would come back and try more!
Came around 2PM and was seated quickly as it wasn’t their peak hours. Place looks very clean and welcomed by a very friendly smile and got seated quickly. Also has pretty nice music selection and has plenty of sunlight so extra plus for me!
As for lunch, Mong’s offers a Lunch Set for only 12.50$! I got myself a Salt Pepper Squid for my entree and Pork Katsu for my main! It also comes with a bowl of Miso Soup and Rice.
The Pork Katsu was mediocre because I was hoping it would be like the ones in Japan but it was pretty decent to say the least. My mate had the Spicy Pork which was heaps better. The presentation however was a different level!
Overall a great experience and definitely gonna come again soon 😉
What a welcomed addition to South Melbourne!! A massive menu that is set to impress, deliver and not disappoint. The fried chicken was tasty and tender. The teokbokki was delicious, the bulgogi flavoursome, the chap chae was well done...The best thing? It’s all affordable!!! A comfortable space with friendly authentic Korean service. I will be back and bringing company with me.

Found this fancy place by accident, the decoration attracted our eye so decided to have a try. Ordered pork dumplings( was yummy), fried tofu with eggs was ok for me, but my friend he enjoyed it. Like the garlic soy fried chicken, was juicy 🤤 The good thing is every dish served with some salad, both me and my friend like it.
Chanced upon this place (and lately, anything 'Korean' catches our attention lol ) while walking towards South Melbourne Market for a nice lunch.
Menu boasts of modern / fusion (including Hot-dogs and burgers with Korean spices infused meats) as well as the usual Korean specialty, and we ordered Beef Bibim-Bap and Spicy Chicken with grilled Chicken.
A complimentary Miso Soup was served with a small serve of salads that tasted very much like khimchi. And then came our ordered food.
Spicy Chicken was WOW!! Very flavorful!! Chicken pieces were tender and moist. The Beef Bibim-Bap was a bit bland but tasted so nice......perfect contrast to the spicy chicken.
Service is fast and friendly. Definitely recommend.
Great quiet little restaurant in the Woolworths shopping center. Kimchi fried rice had a generous portion and the eel bibimpap is also very nice. The accompanying side dishes for the bibimpap is pickled wakame and sesame spinach which is very refreshing.
Mong’s Kitchen served delicious flavourful (spicy!) Korean dishes that were perfect for weekday work lunches. The service was friendly and the venue was clean and comfortable. Highly recommend their set meals - I especially loved the ebi mayo.
Had lunch here after work since this place was just 3 mins away from South Melb Market. I would recommend ordering the lunch deal for $15, you get an entree, main dish, rice and miso soup. The salt & pepper squid and croquettes were really nice. My friend enjoyed her spicy pork, my beef bulgogi was a bit dry and the meat was more like minced rather than thinly sliced. Overall it was a good value meal and will surely come back to try other dishes. The place was almost empty when we arrived around 2pm so the service was pretty quick and efficient.

Well-presented with great variety of Korean-fusion meals - including KFC and beers.
Excellent service and food. Very nicely balanced flavours and well portioned for us. The best dish was the vegetable japchae and eel bibimbap. Will definitely be coming back to try the other stuff.

First time here and the first thing I will is say is try the beef tacos! They are freaking amazing! Korean and Mexican cuisine meshing together like no other ! We also had the prawn dumplings which were good and the beef bulgogi.
The place is slightly hidden from local foot traffic but easy to find. Have a go and you won’t be disappointed!
It's the best Korean restaurant in Melbourne for me as their food is just like my mom's. Such a home styled cooking that I had tear of joy. I love going to Mong's Kitchen and will continue to enjoy their lovely dishes 😋

Really enjoyed my dinner here. Friendly stuff and great customer service. It not q very busy restuarant but i prefer it that way. I ordered the japchae noodles and bulgogi kimbap. Both were very nice and clean. Good quality ingredients and noodles werent overally oily. Would come eat here again
Had this chicken noodle soup, don't know if it's Korean enough but Asian enough. Enjoyed it. Chicken were cooked so well that it 'melted' in the soup. Friend had this pork and shrimp fired rice, also yum.
Had dinner for four tonight. I can't understand why it is not busier. The food was tasty. Service pleasant and the bill under $120 including 4 beers at $7.50 each. I recommend locals support this Korean casual dining establishment.

Great food though served in a rather smaller portion that you might originally think. I came here twice two days in a row and was satisfied in both occasions. Their takoyaki were great. The salmon was diced, a bit in an unexpected way but still good, and the spicy chicken was good too. The one that disappointed was the rice, it was too soft. The takeaway set came with a nice packed cutlery, which was quite impressive.
This is a favourite amongst my husband and his friends who are all chefs so it speaks volumes about the quality and consistency of the food here. I personally love the sausage stew and fried chicken. To top it off I discovered today that they have added bing soo to their summer menu! It was delicious.
As other reviewers have mentioned, staff are very friendly but need more training. They tend to forget to ask if we want to order drinks and don't clear the table until asked to do so. Other than that, every meal here has been a delight.
One of my favorite Korean restaurants. Service is excellent. Food wise I found the Korean soups more flavorful than in many other Korean eateries I have been to in Melbourne.
I was pleasantly surprised by my last working lunch over at Mong’s Kitchen across the road, a new Korean and Japanese-themed eatery that gets a decent chunk of the company foot traffic. It always looked a bit too clean for my tastes, but I’m glad I checked it out as it has a real vibrance in it’s dishes.
Lunch specials are awesome. The fried chicken and fried rice in particular. In one week, I came 3 times out of 5. That's how good it is.
Beef bulgogi sushi rolls are also delicious.
A good place for lunch. Good variety selection, I especially like you mix and match your own lunch set for a reasonable price. Sets served with small serve of brown rice. The sets are filling but relatively small for those looking for a super filling lunch.
The service is a little awkward as I don't think the restaurant is quite clear on whether it's self seat and self serve or full service. It ended up being full service for us but it would perhaps attract more if the waitresses are on standby when customers walk in.

Mong's is an awesome Korean restaurant in the quality of the food as well as the taste. Some of the food is closer to authentic Korean food than other Korean restauranys and some are fusion food that are both interesting and tasteful.
Was realllly surprise by this little Korean kitchen. Their bimbimbap was properly cooked to a stone pot so the rice was pleasantly burnt crunchy on the bottom. The lunch deal is a steal - entree and main for $14! But my chosen main wasn't on the specials list but was accompanied with Korean chickpeas and sweet potato. Deliciouso! Place seemed a little understaffed, but our table was still seen to and we didn't need to wait long for our meals.
Great customer service, place is well decorated, love their lunch deals. Been there few times, I personally prefer to have more rice for their $14 lunch special and bit more seasoning for the fried chicken+rice deal. I worked around the corner so it is a convenient place for me to keep coming back for next lunches😋
Tried Mong’s kitchen for the first time. Nice ambiance for small family with young kids. Staff are friendly and attentive. Food is traditionally cooked, very nice, bibimbap is yummy, and soup is spicy, the staff did warn it us. The portions are good. We really enjoyed it.
Oh.. they closed on Sunday even though it stated open on Sunday in Google.

The service was so very warm and friendly. To me, that's one of the nicest things to sit down to. Now to the food. The Sun Doo Bu (tofu and seafood stew) was such a hearty, slightly spicy, and super yummy dish. The spicy pork and squid bulgogi was worth every cent. Pair the food with a nice Kloud beer and you have a winner on your hands. Gonna head back to try other dishes for sure.
it’s right next to the exit so you probably will missed it, it was quiet on the Monday afternoon, they have some pretty good deal for 1x entrées, 1xMain, 1xsoup served with rice & salad. we added boneless chicken w garlic soy flavour. for myself i have the chicken Bulgogi as main, friends of mine have the chicken katsu, with Mayo Prawn as entrée. they all taste delicious. The Boneless chicken were so crispy from the outside, juicy from the inside. the soup were a little bit too little but it’s doesn’t matter to us.
So tasty!!! Decided to go here for our dinner tonight before groceries shopping. Would definitely love to come back .. even for take aways! I tried the beef bulgogi with deep fried squid tonight .. Would love to come back to try the bibimbap
This is a great little place. Excellent food and service to match. The Salmon Bibim-bap is excellent and recommended. Picture below. Busy on a Thursday night and I reckon everyone that left complimented the waitress for great service and great food.
Been here with a colleague for lunch. Great food with good portions for reasonable price. Loved the presentation of the food. The staff and service was nice too.
Somewhat of a hidden gem we chanced upon for lunch one day. We enjoyed the lunch special and will definitely be back to try more.
