Had a coffee and lemon tart while waiting for my partner to get his hair cut up the road. The tart was really delicious, and a decent size too, I didn't think I would eat it all but it was very tasty. The coffee was very nice as well. My partner had a choc milkshake, which was nothing special, milk and choc syrup you could get anywhere or make at home. Would be nice if it was something a little more effort, maybe ice-cream, a wafer or better choc.
Nice small bakery. Well priced and a nice range of items. Not a super posh your bakery, a pleasant neighbourhood one. Enjoyed the croissant.
Mid week lunch. Quiche was good. Cakes looked amazing, would love to come back for the cakes! Hot chocolate presentation was impressive. The extra chocolate on the side was a nice surprise.
Love love love their almond croissant. Best I've tasted. Generous filling and topping of almond flakes. Not to be missed if you are in the area. Despite take away, it was still perfect, be sure to ask them to heat it up.
Can't really fault the place for what it is. Just a simple cute airy and bright cafe at the corner with very good coffee and a fair selection of fresh cakes and pastries, which are good and tasty for what they are. Good place for afternoon tea/coffee, to catch up with friends or simply while the time away with a good read on a lazy day.
The French Quarter serves an array of pastries and cakes, perfect for an after brunch sweet treat...Quantity over quality wins any time with menu selection, however it is questionable whether the quality of the almond croissants, pastries and cakes are enough to account for the limited selection. Nonetheless, the lemon tart was zesty and fresh, and the cheesecake demurely subtle.
Quier corner. The selection of small but very eye candy. I tried the orange and mascarpone tart and the pain au chocolat, and they were both yummy, but nothing really remarkable. The prices are a bit to high, I would say. The place is very quiet, perfect to have quiet catch ups, read the newspaper or play with your phone. The staff are very friendly. Their coffee is totally forgettable.
Simple, home style baked goods. We went to the French Quarter for lunch after deciding we wanted a simple meal, and that's what we got. The food was tasty and affordable, however it isn't anything to write home about. We got the quiche which was good, and our favourite thing was the lemon tart. We also had the mixed vegetable brioche, which was OK although it seemed a bit stale. Altogether we paid about $20 for two which is amazing! Overall, I would definitely return to the bakery for a quick bite as it's in my neighbourhood, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there.
Simply easy to enjoy. Coffee, almond croissant repeat!!!! news paper, absolutely perfect little cafe
Friendly staff and amazing treats. I have been to The French Quarter many a times and thought I should write a review. The staff are always really friendly, service is very prompt and efficient and the food is consistently of high quality. I love the lemon tarts!
Decked out like a real French cafe with window seats facing out to complete the experience. Had a delicious strawberry brioche and cappuccino. Only difference to a real French cafe is that the coffee is actually good!
Yummzy. I often go there for my soy hot chocolate, and the mixed berry brioche. =op
Great pastries. Great French pastries, especially their almond croissants (probably the best in Melbourne - just throwing it out there). Reasonably priced too. However, their coffee has been declining in quality to the point where I don't order it anymore.
Great Saturday Morning Breakfast. Score: Ambiance: 7 Service: 7 Value: 7 Food: 15 Total 36/50
Came in for Breakfast the other day. It was certainly a nice start to our day. Good breakfast selection, both sweet and savory depending on your mood, topped off with good Latte and massive hot chocolate.
Oh yum. Pain Chocolat - oh boy is it good! Reliably good coffee, friendly service.
Cute. I really liked this place, nice atmosphere. Friendly and very helpful staff.
Try a mixed berry brioche, they're amazing!
Their lemon tart is a must-try!
Eat a custard donut! Yum!
The French Quarter Patisserie have rather nice coffee and cakes, a large variety of small dessert style sweets like custards Tarts and other goodies, there are some pies and sausage rolls also but I think the highlight of this Cafe are the sweeter items.
Nice almond croissant 3.5*
Missing the lightness and flakiness
Nicer filling than Lune as I find the frangipani a tiny bit off putting, but Lune is a level above otherwise
But no line here, not sold out and just $5 so that alone is worth another half a star
I had a egg and cheese Panini, perfectly heated. With a dirty chaï and a strawberry tart. Amazing.
Kids say: hot chocolates are excellent, as is the food
This little Cafe is a little hidden gem. Its in a quiet little spot in North Melbourne where you can sit and watch the world go by.
The cakes we normally come here for are the strawberry custard tarts and the muffins. They're not overly sweet and made fresh. We come here often when we feel like an afternoon pick me up. The people working here are lovely as well.
Beautiful little cafe with street view and cute nooks to settle in and read a book. Coffee is really good too, with staff being very accommodating to your needs! Wide range of pastries and sandwiches and snacks and sweets. Unfortunately keto lifestyle don't allow these yummy foods! A beautiful place to try out! 😁
