I must say this pizza place is different to your usual pizza places in Carlton. Whenever I think pizza in Carlton I think upper class, traditional Italian, fancy, Woodfire etc. however Carlton pizzeria is your standard traditional pizza and pasta venue. As you know I love the traditional venues as well as the fancy ones.
Their Aussie pizza would have to be the best I have ever tasted and their other ones are great too. I will note that their Mexican is more spicier than usual, even though chilli is common on a Mexican pizza. Their use of meatballs or beef on the meatlovers is a nice touch as opposed to the traditional salami, ham and bacon. The crust seems a bit thicker compared to some other places but not ultra thick.
On eat now there is a place called premium slice pizza and I am pretty sure it is also Carlton pizzeria due to the similar menu and also as the driver says he is from Carlton pizzeria. On the premium slice pizza menu however there is a pizza not on the Carlton pizzeria menu which I love, a pizza which has chorizo, salami, herbs etc
Overall a great place
Addicted to the risotto :) Always friendly staff with great smiles. My wife usually gets the vegetarian pizza and says it has always been great quality.
This place was delicious. I've lived in the Fitzroy area for six years and I have never been succesful ordering nice delivery pizza/pasta. By all means, don't expect woodfire oven pizza's like you would get at supermaxi or ladro. It's just tasty old school style pizza. The lasagna was spot on. Better than I've had at many lygon st restaurants
Friendly and cozy little pizza/pasta joint. Only a few tables inside for dining in as they mostly do takeaway/delivery. We were the only ones dining in and we felt totally comfortable there. The garlic and cheese focaccia was tasty and crispy and we wolfed it down in a few minutes. The pasta and risotto were well-cooked, very creamy and plentiful for us. Dessert was a bit of a let down, because the tiramisu was not tiramisu at all, it was literally just cream on top of some bread and chocolate powder sprinkled on top. I'd steer away from the desserts next time but get their pasta again - they do free delivery in the nearby area (including CBD too I've asked) until 11ish every night except Monday, and the minimum order is only $20. The prices on the takeaway/delivery menu are slightly cheaper than dining in too, but I wouldn't mind eating there either because it's a nice little place and the waitresses are very dedicated and enthusiastic.
We went here with a voucher ($29) 3 courses ,while not being 5 star there was plenty of food. Shared entree Bruschetta (was a pizza) . Limited mains outside pizza. Dessert was a pleasant surprise.
